- DAVID (10/5): - After a long flight from Johannesburg, I arrived in Doha and checked into the Oryx Hotel around 11:30 p.m. before my early morning connection to Washington, D.C. I was fortunate to secure a room, which was quiet, spotless, and very comfortable. The hotel’s location inside the airport made it exceptionally convenient. While the rate is on the higher side $$, it’s well worth the cost compared to trying to sleep in the lounge or terminal. A special thanks to Mr. Tanveer at reception for his courteous and professional assistance during check-in — greatly appreciated.

They take advantage of people knowing they are the only option in the airport. The hotel is super nice but the price should be cheaper and more affordable

The hotel is close to the food court and Duty Free shopping are. Luckily it was also a few minutes walk to our boarding gate. The staff was friendly and the check in process was fast.

- Ali (8/5): Doable - It’s an okay hotel but expected more for the price, bathroom does not have a shattaf which shocked me for a hotel in Qatar and it’s one of the most important tools in the bathroom for me, a separate bidet is available but not convenient, the AC system was very confusing and took me an hour to figure out how to make it colder or switch it off as there were only up and down buttons with confusing display, the room is decent and the bathroom was clean and alright. Would I stay here again? Perhaps if I don’t want to leave the airport and got a long layover, but I think they missed a few opportunities to make it really comfortable and convenient.

I would have loved Netflix access on the TV as I was travelling with a small child who would have loved some TV downtime. Otherwise, excellent!!

- BABATUNDE (2/5): - I did not have the opportunity to check-in. The hotel got in touch and asked me for my itinerary. I was unaware of a rule that prevented me from staying beyond 24 hours at the airport, and the hotel did not inform me either. I thought the hotel owed me a duty of care to inform me after collecting my arrival and departure details.

- Brendan (10/5): - Booked a family room as we had a 9 hour stop over in Doha airport. We only got around 3 hours sleep but it was a great option rather than hanging around the airport all night for our connect flight. The room and beds were lovely and we made use of the swimming pool. Such a novelty for the four of us to refresh by going for a swim at 12 midnight. Would recommend if you have a long stop over.

Sometimes you need to go through security depending on where you fly in from (I was flying from Uganda). But I did that and then was admitted into the airport and found the Hotel. But had to ask a few times as I walked through the airport.
