Guest Reviews
- Jimmy (10/5): - I needed a place to stay cause my air conditioner went out at home. Was great.
- Brooks (10/5): - Very clean, quiet, and the nices host and manger-clerlk young lady very professional, great deals.
- lauranL4763SV (2/5): Disgusting and the worst hotel ever - Do not stay here. I booked this prepaid for a family member have an emergency and they would not let them stay because they were from Gonzales. I asked to talk to a manager and my request was denied. Disgusting that my family member had to be homeless for the night. The priceline website did not say locals not allowed.
- H437PPtylerb (2/5): How I got scammed, and stolen from, all within 48 hours - If I could leave zero stars I would, I’ve been here one night out of my 4 nights and my $70 electric razor was stolen by the cleaning staff, which front desk makes you sign a waiver when you come in stating they aren’t responsible for any valuables left in the room, the front desk attendant tries to rush you, as if they don’t want you reading the disclaimers. They do not rent to locals, Terrible pillows, safe is inoperable in room, I saw most reviews were outdated so I gave this place a chance. Hopefully you’ll see my review and steer clear of this place. Especially for the price tag you can find something way better. I traveled here for work related training and needed somewhere to stay. Never again.
- Will (6/5): - No tv service
- Angelique (2/5): Not local friendly. - Horrible guest experience. Refused service because of the address on my id even though my room was already booked & paid for. If youre from the state, they do not offer services.
- Joel (4/5): Nooe - Just needed a cheap room for the night. Front desk was not rude but seemed annoyed that a guest had shown up. Parking lot is sketchy and motel just gives off a creepy vibe. Room appeared clean but needed updating and it had that stake urine smell like when you go to a nursing home. Beds were comfortable though and bathroom was clean or else this would be a 1 star review
- Trina (2/5): - There was a dog barking all night next door. Also carpet pealing up and exposed nails. My husband cut his foot through his socks. Bed was comfortable
- Jacquelyn (6/5): - I booked a room for two nights and unfortunately had a family matter to return to so I no longer needed to stay the extra day. And the hotel would not refund me or credit me. I was very discouraged.
- keith (2/5): - Bugs in the Bed
- Marquetta (10/5): - Friend staff
- Myron (8/5): Good quality room - Nothing fancy but good quality room and reasonable price.
- April (2/5): - The staff is on courteous and rude the way they handled situations that I had was awful. I don't recommend anyone to stay there.
- Tracy (6/5): Rock the Country Weekend - Perfect location for our trip. Plenty of food and shopping options nearby. If you’re looking for any type of luxury or upscale hotel this would not be it, but if you just want a comfortable, clean place to sleep Pelican Inn is your place.
- Darrell (6/5): - place needs some major updating, very dirty but staff was real nice and easy to check in and out
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its was alright. Room had a smell to it and the shower did not drain properly.
- Nathan (6/5): - Kinda what you would expect from what you pay for it, not the best bedding and pillows.
- Nate (2/5): Fire your cleaners - Filthy
How can you hang up new clean towels next to smashed dead bugs all over the wall.
- Kristine (10/5): - Clean and quiet room. Loved the bathtub!
- Jarres (2/5): - The lady working nights at the pelican inn wouldn’t look up my reservation number after I paid for it a week ago and then gave my room away and was hateful and hung up on me.
- Jude (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable
- Jerry (6/5): - Room was kept clean, bed made everyday, etc. Housekeeping did not replace drinking cups, coffee cups or ice bags.
- William (8/5): - Good value for the price.
- Malaiya (2/5): - terrible front desk , wouldn’t let us stay there
- Scott (8/5): - My tv in my room does not work. I wanted to watch my college football game and was highly disappointed when it wouldn’t work.
- Curtis (10/5): - Stayed here a few times never had any issues clean, quite, and they may be cheap but the room doesn't look cheap.
- Karina (2/5): - The room smelled horrible! I had to check out within an hour without any refund, i couldn’t let my children sleep there. Was offered another room and when I checked it out it smelled the same. Very disappointing experience and a scam in my opinion! Beware of this place!
- DAN (8/5): - Refrigerator’s freezer required defrosting.
- Miguel (10/5): - Quiet place
- Kasey (4/5): - Not a horrible stay room is clean no breakfast no pool definitely needs a update but I booked a 3 night stay and after the first night I was told I booked a 1 night stay which I continued to argue since having a receipt for 3 was incorrect so after 1.5 hours of phone calls and Expedia arguing with the desk help Expedia
❤️ rebooked the remainder of stay needless to say I’ve seen other reviews that state double charges or increased fees at this establishment just be careful with your booking
- Kasey (8/5): - Close to work
- Whitney (4/5): - Shower head was broken
- Daniel (8/5): - Check-in process was not pleasant
- Gautam (6/5): Need better service - Lot of mosquitoes were inside the room. I know swamp area can have mosquitoes but they could spray. I had to use bug repellant while sleeping. Water pressure was not enough in bathtub. Could not take proper hot shower.
- JOHNNY (10/5): - Room is cleaned
- Q3954VAluisa (2/5): They could do better if they stop being cheap. - AC barely work
Cable in the room don’t work
Furniture in the room falls apart
1 washer and 1 dryer that’s broke
Cleaning lady’s do a nice job tho.
Over price tbh. 200 rooms no washer dryer smh.
- John (10/5): Value, Cleanliness... A+ - Super clean, room looked like it had been remodeled. Will definitely stay there next time i'm in the area. Probably best overall travel room I've stayed in in years. Great value as well.
- Cindy (2/5): - I’m pissed. They charged my card and refused me a room upon arriving
- Verified traveler (6/5): I am dissatisfied with the receptionist's response - The receptionist was engrossed in the game and didn't notice us.
- Debbie (8/5): - This was a pleasant stay for one night as we were headed to NOLA for a cruise.
- Charles (10/5): - OVERALL EVERYTHING WAS 💯
- antonio (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (4/5): More to be desired - Room was not available. Television, coffee maker and clock did not work.
- Pablo (8/5): Fair for the price! - It was clean and quiet.
- Gerald (6/5): - The bathtub needs slip strips , almost fell several times …. The refrigerator had a strong odor .
- Darlene (10/5): Good stay - Clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great overall stay. - The best part was we were able to check in VERY early so that helped out a lot as we didn't want to bring the luggage to lunch and shopping with us.
- PAULA (8/5): - It’s a great value. It’s serves the purpose. The staff or rather the person that checked us in was less than friendly and seemed irritated to even have to help us. The room was adequate. Nice cold air and warm covers. Clean. However. There was a party next door that the music was so loud it was heard plainly over the tv and a/c. It lasted well past 10pm.
Overall, decent for the money spent.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The door wouldn’t open/shut right, the toilet wouldn’t flush right and the walls were dirty.
- Joey (6/5): - Furniture was very old. There was a desk but no chair for the desk. Lamps were rusted. Seemed to be a site for out of town workers. We had no issues though.
- Alberto (8/5): Nice place to stop - It is a motel with limited services, but it was clean and everything worked in the room, just what you are looking in this kind of stablishment.
- LaTanya (10/5): - It was very clean and nice
- JeanPierre (4/5): No smokimg but smells a lot like it - Everything was good, but it said no smoking inside the room, but our room, as soon the AC turned on, smell of sigar come out. I had to take off the AC filters and clean them, ised a towel to clean the whole AC (like a maintenance) for the smell to go away
- Joshua Elie (2/5): - I was supposed to have 2 queen beds but had fulls. Rooms were very small. N had trash on the floor
- Djwauna (2/5): - I didn't like that the air wasn't working
- Douglas (2/5): - stains on comforter, cobwebs in every corner of the room
- Gene (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Suzanne (8/5): - The bed slept very well.
- Chad (2/5): - staff unfriendly and cold, stains on the comforters, bathroom not clean, smoke smell hits you like a ton of bricks when you walk in.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The check-in time was ridiculously long. There only one person at the desk, and she was sooo slow. I had a two-night stay, and my keys were deactivated after my first night. Several guests had the same problem. Room was clean except for the corners. I paid twice what the room was worth. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot. No breakfast.
- Ramona (2/5): - If I had known the way this room would be I wouldn’t have booked here. As soon as we walked up the stairs you seen a dirty sidewalk and could smell weed. Then we get into the room and it smells like it’s been shut up for months and mold. The phone doesn’t work to be able to call the front desk. The bathroom wasn’t very clean it has what looks like boogers and dirts ALL over the back of the door and the wall behind the door, the floor behind the door is filthy with dirt, dust and hair. It was disgusting. The bathroom ceiling has mold and water spots that look like they painted over to cover it up. I’ve paid a LOT less and stayed in BETTER places. So not worth the $168 I paid to stay here. Only reason we continued to stay is because it was a nonrefundable room and we didn’t have the extra to stay somewhere else.
- Ronald (2/5): - Poor service
Rude
Other guest very disrespectful
- Ronald (4/5): - Loud outside gathering (music, singing, cooking on BBQ) at night
- Lucy (8/5): Wrong size beds advertised - The hotel advertises two queen beds. When we got to our room there were two full beds. I called the office and they said that they do not have queen beds and that she doesn't know why is advertised like that because none of the rooms have queen size beds.
- Ronnie (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, and accommodating. The room was what I expected. Clean, and fresh. I will say that the stairs going to my room (228) was filthy. There were people outside their doors talking until I went to sleep at about 10:00 (no smoking in rooms, and that is a good thing).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I did not like falling in the tub when I stepped in to shower. There were no non-slip strips on the tub bottom and it was like standing on ice. I could not stand up because it was so slippery; I had to crawl over the edge onto the floor.
- Reginald (8/5): - Stay was good not to far from major stores like Walmart and restaurants. Only issue I had was washer and dryer on premises in as out of order.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Discrimination - They refused to check us in because we had a local address. Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Definitely discrimination.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great very quiet I really enjoyed my stay check in was on point
- Timmy (10/5): Timmy Randall - Room was nice and comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Park right by my room and location very good Viewing great just like I requested very excited
- Judy (8/5): - The room was clean but had a little musty smell. It was comfortable but some of the furnitures seemed newer and some falling apart. The was a chair that was worn though.
- Jane (8/5): - The hotel was neat and very clean the people were nice and very helpful
- Jayme (10/5): - The rooms was very nice a
- Frezla (8/5): - It was ok air conditioning needs upgraded beds upgrading room over all needs to be upgrading and housekeeping needs to up date cleaning supplies as well
- Wayne (4/5): Don’t - A/C didn’t work, smelled stale & Moldy
- receptionist played Video games in full view and doesn’t even notice assistance is needed
- Luis (2/5): Dirty and services sucks! - The bathroom was dirty! The used soap still in the shower, hair on the toilet and when I called I was told to come to the reception área. It wasn’t my mistake why do I need to be inconvenienced after a long day of traveling. Poor cleaning and horrible customer service.
- Carl (10/5): Great Stay - Liked that it was a smaller hotel. Very quiet and clean, near lots of food choices.
- Michael (10/5): I will be returning! - The place looked brand new although it is 5-6 years old. No complaints, clean and comfortable.
- Cristian L (10/5): Strongly recommend - Absolutely very pleasant stay. Very clean. Everything brand new.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was perfect for our travels. Staff were pleasant and worked with us to resolve multiple issues. We changed rooms several times due to rooms smelling like smoke and our grand kids stepping too loudly and awakening the sleeping worker below us (in broad daylight...a night worker)
- Teresa (8/5): Good place - Room was a typical hotel room with a small fridge and microwave. Was clean and for.proce would stay there again. Location was around tons of stuff.
- Trenton (10/5): - Very conveniently located to hey 30 and I10. Clean and quiet. They let me check in a couple of hours early also. Very nice staff.
- gordh975 (6/5): Nice hotel but it has some repair issues. - My wife and I spent one night in this hotel on Feb 8th. Upon arrival the woman at the front desk was friendly, helpful, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. We checked into room 177 and on entering the room we found it very clean and modern. Appeared to be recently renovated. The property out side was also in good condition. I had two complaints with the room. 1/ there were no USB outlets in the room which is apparent in most hotel/ motel, rooms there days. Here is the bad part.. the shower. The ceiling had not been properly sealed and the plaster and tape was falling off. Next there appeared to be black mould in the corners if the tub surround. I’m not saying it was black mould because I am not an expert but it looked like black mould. Other than that the room , staff and the stay was great. One more thing. There is no continental breakfast.
- Darian (10/5): Just like home - I had an awesome stay it was clean and the beds were comfortable.... All six days rooms cleaned everyday like the first day
- Shantell (10/5): FANTASTIC - It was amazing, everything was clean & comfortable
- Frank (2/5): Wasn’t Satisfied - I didn’t get the king size bed that I requested, and was move from room to rooms
- DD (8/5): - Convenient lication for appointments scheduled while in gonzales.
- John (6/5): - Some of the appliances were broken.
- Denice (8/5): - We stay here every other month when visiting our son. The location is covnenient to shopping and restaurants.
- Joniqwa (2/5): - Felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe checked in went in the roomed went straight back to the desk to tell them I felt unsafe and they stated they couldn’t refund me
- Amanda (6/5): We were cold..... - Over all room was nice an clean. However we did not have a blanket or comforter on our bed, nor did we receive one after requesting it twice.
- Melissa (4/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!!! - Would not stay there again. First off, it's apparently used by mainly men working in the area and NOT for a weekend getaway. There were bags of garbage sitting outside of multiple rooms which was not appealing at all. Once in the room, I noticed a dirty towel under the mini fridge. The tub was extremely slippery and I almost fell more than once while taking a shower. Housekeeping knocked on the door around 09:00 and I asked that they return a little later. We left and returned a few hours later. When we drove up there was a housekeeping cart a few doors down from our room and one on the upstairs balcony as well however our room had not been serviced yet. My husband called the front desk to inquire and the lady that answered told him that she would let then know. We left for the day and returned much later only to walk into the same room that was still not serviced. My husband then called the front desk again and spoke to a gentleman this time who informed him that housekeeping was gone for the day and that they noted on the paper that we refused service. We never refused service and my husband was told that there was nothing that could be done because housekeeping was gone. He asked for the name of the manager and was told that they did not have a manager only an owner. This is VERY poor customer service. I even emailed the place once returning home and never received a response. I DO NOT recommend this place .EVER!!!
- Scott (8/5): Not bad . - Stay was very well .
- Rachel (6/5): Nope. - When we first go in the room, we killed 3 small spiders. There were cobwebs in the bathroom which tells me it wasn’t really even cleaned right to begin with. Then we went out to the balloon festival, when we came back to the hotel we noticed the AC was screeching every time it turned off... needless to say we didn’t get much sleep. Walls were paper thin and heard both neighbors all night. When addressing my issues to the front desk, the lady said. “Ok” nothing more.. no sympathy, no concern... definitely DO NOT recommend.
- Tommy (10/5): Top notch - Very clean and quiet place to stay.
- Janet (10/5): Vacation - Good service and comfortable beds!
- Leslie (10/5): - Very nice room, affordable, still had new smell! Having to manually fill in a check-in document felt antiquated and unnecessary.
- Cherika (8/5): Not a resort but better than most cheap hotels - It was a clean comfortable stay. The room had everything I needed. It's not top of the line but it was decent and safe. There are lots of restaurants and an outlet mall in the area.
