Guest Reviews
- kendras820 (8/5): Funky cool place - Aquarooms is in a great location in Palermo, right near Quattro Conti. Tucked along a pleasant side street off Via Roma, it was easy to find once you got your bearings. The bed was very comfortable and I believe each room has a soaking jacuzzi (I did not use). The shower was great after a long flight. The manager Erica was excellent. My only gripes were Expedia/trip advisor’s terrible third party customer service (the hotel had none of my contact info and therefore could not give me any check-in information) and as someone mentioned before, the noise from the street at 2:30a. Neither of these things is the fault of Aquarooms, but light sleepers beware.
- Angela (10/5): - AQUAROOMS luxury is the best! The room is cute welcoming, love the jacuzzi and the bathroom is beautiful and clean with a awesome shower, we really enjoy staying and everything was very close, dining and shops ❤️🥰👍
- W9824IHcynthiab (10/5): A beautiful stay in Palermo! - Absolutely, divine stay of four nights. Everything is near to the door. Steps away is the best Cafe and pizza. Near the water front and mural. Fabulous artist community. Always kitchen is well stocked except no ice. Each evening I prepared myself a G&T and sat on the balcony to watch the people go to where they were headed. Positively recommend for couples, solo or families.

- Sam (10/5): - Beautiful apartment, very well manged and amazing service from the ownsers alway there to help just a phone call away. FYI I suggest not drive a car, palermo is easy by walking and public transport. I would totally recommend stayi n g at Aquarooms, grest lication.
- Erika (6/5): Nice but loud. - Great room and service. Parking was surprisingly easy. Unfortunately the area was extremely noisy, even with earplugs and noise cancelling headphones. And I used to live in NYC! The room faced a busy loud road with many motorbikes constantly going by and boisterous weekend activities.
- Tracy (10/5): - Francesco and Erica are lovely hosts! They made our stay lovely and took great care of us! The location of Aquarooms cannot be beat. We had a wonderful stay!
- Jorge (10/5): - He was a great place to be
- jesst433 (10/5): Great stay! - We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Palermo was our last stop on our Italy honeymoon and we had a great time. Don't be put off by the outside of the building, the area isn't bad at all and the inside is great. It seems to be an apartment with the B&B located inside. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great, loved all the decor and atmosphere of the room. Shared kitchen is very cute. Hosts are great and very friendly. Erica said there were vouchers for breakfast in our room but I never saw them so we didn't utilize the breakfast but that's ok. Cute balcony. It can get rowdy and loud outside but the outside doors were thick so it didn't bother us. Very walkable location. I highly recommend!
- Jim (8/5): - Erica, the host was very friendly and helpful.
- Tamara (10/5): Great boutique hotel with excellent service - My partner and I stayed at Aquarooms for 3 nights and were really impressed by the quality of both the space and the hospitality of the hosts. With just 3 rooms, it’s a small boutique hotel with a personal touch. Our room had both a hot tub (in the bedroom) and a good shower, as well as a comfortable bed, a small balcony facing out onto the street, and cool, stylish art and furniture, much of it custom made or acquired for the specific room. The location was central and extremely convenient— tons of restaurants, bars, cafés, shops, and sights nearby. Erica and Francesco were both incredibly helpful and all-around good people who went above and beyond in every way and were fun to talk to. We loved both Palermo and Aquarooms and would not hesitate to come back to both!
- Jeffery (10/5): - Erica and Francesco were amazing hosts. They were there to meet us, made us caffè, tell us the best spots to go, and even ordered us a taxi when we left. The building they renovated themselves is absolutley stunning. Our room was decorated with local Palmero art, had an awesome shower, and my wife loved the seperate soaking tub. You can tell they put a lot of hard work and thought into it.
Everything is within walking distance. My only regret is we didnt stay longer, but we will be back!
- Birgit A (10/5): Aquarooms - Francesco and Erica were wonderfully friendly and helpful. They gave us many good tips and obviously are enthusiastic about their city. The accomodations are quaint and comfortable though a bit noisy as the room faces Via Roma.
- Davidbell70 (10/5): Perfect location and perfect hosts - We booked this place fairly last minute and as soon as we made the reservation Francesco and Erica were in touch to help us. The location is a stones’s throw from Quatro Canti and also Vucciria Market so it is the perfect location for the hustle and bustle of the centre of town. It’s also walking distance from the train station making the train from the airport a great option. The room was great. Good size, small balcony , good air conditioning, along with good shared kitchen facilities to use. Francesco and Erica could not have been more helpful and really made the effort to assist us in exploring Palermo.
- 504louisev (10/5): Best stay ever - We stayed here for only 2 nights, but it absolutely made our vacation! The staff is extremely helpful in pretty much everything you need, availible even outside of business hours. We could not find out what to do with the covid test for the departure of our plane. Francesco and Erica helped us out in this stressful situation even in their own time, and despite the fact that we already had checked out.
These people are amazing and deserve a higher score on every review platform.
Thanks again Francesco and Erica, and ofcourse the lady of the rooms.
Fantastico idromassaggio in camera. Personale gentile e disponibile. Straconsigliato
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very friendly Staff , beautiful room .
only the whirlpool
- Pedropony73 (2/5): Really a pity - We spent two nights (Saturday and Sunday): room very nice and located in the heart of the city, but a room is supposed to be place to take rest and sleep during night: unfortunately Aquarooms overlooks a very busy street at anytime of the day and night...first night we did not sleep, the second we did just because we bought earplugs.
- m_rios_rgior (8/5): Great location, but some dissapoinments - As you arrive at the B&B you may, at first, ask yourself if you really arrived at the place you´re booked for. Francesco´s welcome is empathic and efficient but doesn´t give you time to realize that the air-conditioning is available only inside the rooms: the common areas (refrigerator, coffee machine, reception) are usually at a very uncomfortable temperature.
The room we were given was surely not the one we had made a reservation for: same clean and rustic decoration style, but smaller and presenting lesser features than the voucher we had received described. Even though we did not make any complaint while we were there, we checked Aquaroom´s site´s pictures before doing this review: we could not find a picture of this specific room and neither found it available in any of the partners that carry reservations for Aquarroms!!
- LAURENHAS (10/5): Wonderful stay in aquarooms, Palermo - My stay at aquarooms was fantastic, ideal location, beautifully clean large room, comfortable bed and lovely extras (I. E bath with jets). Such a comfortable stay when travelling alone! Thank you so much francesco and Maria for being so helpful and kind.
- Andrea (10/5): - We only stayed a night, but the location was excellent, a little difficult to find but Franchesco help us find the place, the room was great, big clean and the staff was amazing!
- bertram (10/5): Hidden Gem - This was a beautiful hidden gem perfectly located in the historic old town. The room was huge with a beautiful jacuzzi bath tub in it. Loved our stay here and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Jean (10/5): The best experiance in Sicily! - The apartment was so amazing that we didn't have an opportunity to go out and to see the city!
The location was great!
Francesco was extremely helpful! Thank you so much! We definately recomend to stay at Aquarooms!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Grazioso b&b in pieno centro - B&b molto carino, personale gentilissimo, camera molto spaziosa e pulita.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Aquarooms - Sentral beliggenhet.
- DixonTuckerdogs (10/5): Warm hospitality in Palermo - What a find in Palermo! This B and B, right near many of Palermo's most noteworthy sights, is lovely. The hosts - and I was in contact with Erica in particular - are lovely and very helpful with all kinds of things - directions, taxi reservations, restaurant recommendations. The room I stayed in was spacious, very clean, and charming.
This place has the best of both modern luxury and old-world charms. Highly recommended!
- Quanster (8/5): An interesting place and good location - First of all, how do you correct a listing on TripAdvisor? Aquarooms does NOT have FREE PARKING. Just because you could be lucky, and be able to read Italian and find some parking on a street nearby, does not mean that a hotel has parking... which, sadly, was the reason we CHOSE the hotel, as we were worried about where to park our rental car before starting our tour of Sicily.
In any case, there is a garage near the station about a 5 minute walk away, and we paid our 16 euros for overnight parking. The other thing is that it was quite difficult to navigate getting there by car, and our friend in Palermo helped us to buy a day permit to drive in the old city, and has hopefully fixed the situation where we drove into the old city to get to the hotel without a permit (and were likely photographed by traffic cameras).
Having thought about that: if you've got a rental car and need a place to stay in Palermo, I'd say find somewhere else that's easier to get to and to park.
BUT: that situation doesn't stop me from giving this small B&B/hotel a good review. The room was quite beautiful actually, with high ceilings, quirky artwork and nice design. There are only a handful of rooms, which gives the place a nice quiet and exclusive feeling. We had a corner balcony out to the street, which was quite charming, and the double-glazed windows meant that it wasn't too noisy. The bed was comfortable. We liked the spa. The shower with the huge rain head (and two spouts from the wall!) is a good idea, but the water pressure in the hotel (and Italy?) isn't strong enough to really make this effective.
Check-in was a little confusing, so we didn't get the nice welcome and hospitality that other reviews have mentioned but it was fine. When I found out the breakfast part of the B&B was at a restaurant a few blocks down, I expected a hole in the wall, but loved the cafe, and found it stylish indeed. Ah, and the location is great, making it easy to walk to the sights. It also wasn't a cheap place to stay... but overall I found it closer to "very good - 4 stars" than "average - 3 stars".
- Andrea (10/5): Something particular - Nice staying overall, very impressed by AQUAROOMS' standards. You get a bathtub in your room for hydromassage! Breakfast is provided by a local bar located 7-minutes away.. delicious!
- kellymcglinch (10/5): Exceptional hospitality - We selected this B&B because it was the only place in Palermo that offered a private hot tub in every room. What truly made our visit special though was the boundless attention heaped upon us by Francesco and Erica. Both went out of their way to make sure every aspect of our stay was enjoyable and effortless, from extraordinary communication on our way in to ensure we found the hotel to not only booking our taxis, but calling the drivers to verify that they arrived. Beautiful accommodations are easy to find, extraordinary hosts are not. Aquarooms provides both. Grazie Francesco and Erica! Our stay in Palermo would not have been nearly as enjoyable without your dedication and hospitality.
- 541trs (8/5): Centrally located cozy room with jacuzzi - I stayed 4 nights at the hotel while on a tourist visit. The hotel was a little difficult to find as the entrance is not on the main road so it's advised to come with a working SIM card and you can't buy one at the airport in Palermo. It is centrally located almost next to Plazza Pretoria/Santa Maria del Ammiraglio church. From there it is only about a 10-15 minute walk to Plazza Normanni and most of the main attractions are located between there. The room was in good condition and kept clean and the heat was activated during the cold nights. It's a little weird having the jacuzzi in the sleeping area and it was a bit slow to fill. However the water was nice and gets very hot. Breakfast is provided despite what some others have posted, however not in the hotel. You will get a ticket for each day for the "Touring Cafe" which is a very nice cafe and also recommended by LP. However the ticket is valid for only certain items and that breakfast is probably worth about 5 Euros. So if you want to eat at different places or think it is cheaper to purchase yourself then don't go with the breakfast. The rooms are all a part of an apartment and there is a small kitchen with refrigerator and microwave but no working stove top. Although the place was pretty quiet when I was there the door was a bit thin so you can easily hear into the main hall. Also the hotel faces the main road so the street noise especially the cars is a bit load so I wouldn't recommend this place for light sleepers. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the train station from there. The best things were great location, nice and clean room, hospitable owners, good internet, good lighting options in room. It would be nice if the room also had non-Italian (English) TV.

- dmode4sm (10/5): Great room in a fantastic location - Francesco was a phenomenal host! The room was gorgeous and we were in the heart of the old city of Palermo. Parking was an issue, however, Francesco pointed to a great location to park and even helped us daily with paying for parking as our U.S. phones wouldn’t work. We would absolutely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to the center - my week end has been grate. The bb is perfect to go around the center, walking and there are a lot of restaurant and small trattorie very near
- robertz87 (10/5): What a delight - Tucked away, just off via Roma, an easy walk with light luggage from the train station. (Do use a map app. It's easily missed.) Don't be put off by the alley entrance. A nearly invisible sign and doorbell lead you up one flight of stairs to three charming rooms with a shared kitchenette. Tall glass doors with shutters give onto your private balcony. The location is ideal, near via Vittorio Emanuele. The included continental breakfast at a near-by cafe (I recommend the pastries filled with ricotta cream) makes a fine start to your day.
- nurcin (10/5): Perfect location - Great room, furnished very well. Host was lovely. Best location to be on foot
- KathrynP1247 (8/5): One night stay before cruise - My friends and I needed a place to stay for one night before taking a cruise from Port Palermo. The property is set-up like an apartment feeling with a one floor walk-up. I shared a room with a couple who slept in the full size bed and I on the cot, which was small but quite comfortable. There was a functional bathtub in the room. There was private bathroom in the room. The A/C worked well. A nice touch was a balcony that overlooked Via Roma which you can go outside on and take some fun tourist pictures like we did. It's a great location for shopping and dining with the market within walking distance. Francesco, the host, was friendly and accommodating. He guided us to a great restaurant for dinner and gave us his personal phone number in case we needed anything if he wasn't on the property. There was a kitchenette and designated smoking area that was clean. It was a quick 5 minute cab ride to the port and about 20 minutes away from the airport. The property is located on a small block behind Via Roma which may be difficult to locate when driving, but if you call Francesco, he will come to the main road and greet you, as he did for us. Breakfast was included, but not provided on the property. We were given vouchers and directed to walk two blocks to a cafe in which we were shown plenty of options to choose from including coffee, juice, arancini, cornetti, etc.
- Lorna (10/5): Lovely accommodation - This is a great place to stay. The owner was lovely and very helpful - lots of imformation on sites and restaurants. The location is great and the hotel was clean. I would highly recommend the Aquarooms for a stay in Palermo.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great spot. - Outstanding location, very nice and clean rooms. Really appreciate the kitchen and the hosts were very helpful and responsive.
- Martin (6/5): Not so good expierence in Palermo - After our arrival they asked us after we payed the room in advance, a suite with jacuzzi bath tube, extra 30 Euros to use the jacuzzi in our prepaid suite, as well they charged 15 Euros for a small dog for extra cleaning
- MokeLovesTravelling (8/5): Well located BnB and really great host - Francesco our host couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spotless and modern. Breakfast was provided at a café down the street and the effort made to accommodate my dietary needs was really unexpected and welcome.
The downside to this property, if you're travelling with a car, is that it's not too handy to park (and plenty people would find the narrow streets, one way systems and Sicilian drivers more than they can handle).
- Miriam (10/5): Great location and well equipped rooms - Francesco our host couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spotless and modern. Breakfast was provided at a café down the street and the effort made to accommodate my dietary needs was really unexpected and welcome.

- Pamela (8/5): Enjoyed the stay - Very accomodating. Our flight was delayed for 5 hours so we didn't get there until 11pm. We had to ring the person incharge to let us in and they were very nice about it. The place is clean and theres loads of amenities near the location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet hotel just off the main road. - For the historically inclined tourist Palermo is a must see. Locals are very welcoming and always eager to help.
Food is typically Sicilian which means some of the best gastronomy in the world ! Sicilian wines are heavenly.
- Yung-Chan (10/5): Comfortable apartment and nice host - Suuuuper nice host. He introduced the whole city and the room to help us adapt to it quickly. The bed is too comfortable that we had difficulty to wake up. The location is great, just near the Piazza Bellini. The spa is comfortable to help us relax after the all day trip and walking in the city. The breakfast in a nearby Cafe shop is delicious.
- Letterio (10/5): confortevole e familiare - bellissima esperienza
- Martina (10/5): Bel bb nel centro di Palermo. - Ottima soluzione praticamente in centro. Abbiamo soggiornato con i bimbi e siamo stati molto bene.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great for holidays, For Business Think Again - This probably depends on what you need. If you like to party and to do walking tours, the room is great. If you are on business, have a car and need to sleep before the bars close, this is not your best choice. The room is nice. Info saying breakfast is included, or parking is available are incorrect.
There is a very strong artificial air scent and you will love it, or not, depending on your tastes, but you can't help but notice it.
- starlet2015 (8/5): A BnB with a Difference! - Location was excellent and I was able to walk to most places and public transport was readily available. I guess as a senior Australian lady travelling solo I found my accommodation rather challenging. Ultra modern decor and facilities but Francesco and Erica helped me find my way around all their upmarket innovations. Breakfast is optional. Compact kitchen with everything you need. Aquarooms is like an independent apartment with extras ie huge spa bath.
- Sandra (10/5): Beautiful Oasis in the Centre of Palermo - We had a fantastic time at Aquarooms and really enjoyed the beautiful room with its great decor and the mezzanine floor with a jacuzzi. We stayed in the junior suite as a family of four and had plenty of space and a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Most important of all, Francesco and Erica, the owners, were wonderful hosts and looked after us with great care and real hospitability. They love sharing the best of their lovely city with their guests and create a beautiful atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy your holiday. The room was impeccably clean and had a kettle and use of a fully furnished communal kitchen. Mille grazie!
- 991nicolasc (6/5): Great but noisy - Here is a B&B that deserves praise for many reasons but misses the mark just when it's about to reach the finish line.
PROS:
- The rooms are clean, spacious and well-designed, with touches of local art and smart layout.
- The hotel is well located, a 5-minute stroll from most things, including central station and Teatro Massimo.
- The service is wonderful, with Francesco trying his best to make for a great stay.
- It's very affordable and comes with access to a small shared kitchenette in case you wish to shop at the local Lidl and go budget.
CONS
- The breakfast is not included, no matter what this site (or theirs) might say. You get free coffee pouch to brew yourself on the first night.
- While the service is good, there's rarely someone at the front desk. All my exchanges with Francesco were done via text message.
- The real killer is that this hotel is CRAZY noisy. The great location becomes a problem: the rooms have floor-to-ceiling French windows facing Via Roma, one of the loudest (24/7) thoroughfare in central Palermo. We're talking Vespas, trucks, honking buses, ambulances... Clear as if they were riding under your pillow. I couldn't sleep for the life of me on the first night, and I'm a tough sleeper!! I tried to get a transfer to a different room (all have the same problem) or a white-noise machine like a fan (which Francesco supplied but it was not strong enough) but to no avail. In the end, I had to lay down a towel on the bathroom floor and sleep there since the bathroom was away from the infamous window and equipped with a nice roaring extractor fan.
Yes, it's cheap and well-designed and well-located, but to me, hotels are made sleep in. And this is why I ended up giving Aquarooms 3 stars rather than the 4 it could easily achieve with a bit of sound-proofing.
- 702stefanov (10/5): Perfect location, very nice rooms and bath - You're just in the very center of the old town, everything is few minutes away.
Also it is 10 minutes walking to the central station, that makes it easy to go and get a taxi or the bus to the airport.
Staff is kind, when I'll be back in Palermo I will go there again!
