Guest Reviews
- Brian (7/5): An Great stay would happily return. - Like the traditional pub experience and the staff were very friendly. The little fridge is useful holding fresh milk which was supplied, the room was as described with an great shower would happily stay again. Could offer a little more for breakfast and improvements to the Wi-Fi would very much improve some people’s stay as it’s near non existent.
- Susan (10/5): Great stay - Lovely food room and staff
Gorgeous village pub too Shower could have been a tad hotter but not a big issue
- Peter (3/5): -
- Daz (10/5): - Excellent food. Lovely room and friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Very pet friendly Nothing
- DAVID (7/5): Nice olde worlde inn - Nice and clean .good staff in a good location First night was freezing till we found out the next morning the thermostat was outside the door.couldnt get a shower as it was freezing. Also very suprised the full english breackfast was on a saucer thats a new one otherwise nice hotel in a great location
- Margaret (4/5): Nice folks but cold showers. - Close to Sandringham . Nice people. Quiet. No hot water. Something must've been wrong with the boiler. Horrible coffee. Poor lighting in bathroom.
- Lorraine (10/5): Fabulous place to stay - Everything, lovely room, spotlessly clean, great food, helpful & friendly staff. Nothing not to like
- Mark (7/5): - WiFi and mobile signal were poor to non existent
- heather (5/5): - The location was the reason we booked. Unable to use the shower as it had only one temp... Scalding. Room smelt mouldy and very hot. Breakfast very disappointing. Will not stay again even with family in the village.
- Jacqueline (7/5): Very enjoyable despite the breakfast - Good location , comfortable rooms and helpful staff Breakfast was pretty poor, helped yourself to cereal and did your own toast from very thin sliced bread left by the toaster in the packet, no fruit juice and a small full English that had clearly been cooked a while and a bit dried up
- TONY (8/5): Okay, good food, nice staff, comfy accomodation, sort the mixer tap out !! - Fantastic old inn, super location The shower temperature control is baffling, why not just have ordinary mixer tap !!
- Sally (8/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): Little slice of tranquility. - Peace and quiet. Room was fantastic. Excellent night's sleep. Food was brilliant and portion size enough. Cant fault it. Perfect pub in all aspects. Nothing really. WiFi was a bit temperamental but nothing major. Certainly wouldn't put us off staying again.
- John (8/5): - Excellent breakfast. Staff exceptionally helpful. Lovely village location.
- Martin (9/5): Quirky rural charm! - The room was quirky, but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. All staff, including the owner, were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The evening meal was very good(the gammon steak was superb!) and the full English breakfast was perfect. Everything was great- my only problem was the size of the evening meal- the portions were extremely generous!
- Helen (9/5): Very good value for money - Lovely room. Small breakfast but very good value for money. Shower water a little cool

All my gluten free meals were fully gluten free and delicious. maybe a privacy screen on the windows as the room overlooked the tables and chairs out the front.
- Suzanna (10/5): - Perfect location for exploring by car. Also bus into town.
I attended a spinning course nearby. Our first stay at the crown and would definitely stay again
- Miles (10/5): -
- LINDA (7/5): Short stay for meeting up with family - Pub was lovely in a good position.Bedroom was good and breakfast too.We had lunch there and thought it was a bit pricey. The bathroom was not heated and very cold.We had to have breakfast in our coats as bar area was not heated

- Andrew (10/5): -
- Chloe (9/5): A little gem of a place - This is my second stay, a beautiful old coaching inn with plenty of history. Lovely room, friendly staff and great atmosphere, great food and good value Bit cold in the dining area, would have been great if the wood burner had been lit, otherwise fabulous
- Marilyn (8/5): - Very friendly people. Beds comfortable. Shower tiles could have been cleaner. Breakfast selection could be a little varied, with some fruit & maybe yogurt.
- Barrett (10/5): Was a great everyone made us feel special thank you9 -
- Tim (5/5): The room was lovely and the evening staff but the landlord was very unhelpful and asking for our bill was obviously a re - The room was gorgeous. The landlord, very unhelpful
- Susan (9/5): Lovely welcoming old inn - Lovely old inn with rooms (13th Century) with a great atmosphere. Lovely open fire. Food was great, staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely touch having a very small fridge in the room that contained fresh milk (much better than the little cartons you normally get). Would definitely stay there again I liked everything but my husband is over 6ft so the low doors were a bit of a challenge for him but that’s what you get when your room is over 700 years old.
- Chloe (10/5): Gem of an Inn, will stay again - Lovely old property, lots of parking, room was perfect, on suite big with great shower. Little fridge in room with proper milk for drinks. Place was lovely and clean. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. I am booking again, great value for money. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Clean room, good facilities and location -
- Debra (10/5): - A great pub with the friendliest and helpful staff I've ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble and we were very lucky to be there for the Sunday Roast, which was The Best! I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone travelling through this lovely part of the country. The fact that we could only stay for two nights!
- Mervyn Charles Patrick (8/5): -
- Julie (8/5): Lovely overnight stay - The location was ideal for us, handy for Sandringham & Kings Lynn
Country side setting great for the dog
The staff were very friendly and accommodating - could not fault them The Wifi was rubbish, kept loosing the connection

- Marcel (9/5): Great stay - The landlady Charlotte is awesome. She does everything too make you feel at home. Her staff is as friendly as her. Clean, cozy and comfy rooms. Breakfast is good.
Very good value for money. You have to be carefull not to hit your head at the low doors.....
You have to reconnect to wifi often.
- Neil (9/5): Great little Inn on the Rebellion Way - Lovely little really old inn dating from 11th C. Lovely food in the evening and great breakfast in the morning. Lovely shower in the en-suite. Brilliant in-room facilities including small fridge, snacks etc. Doors were tiny! Despite the warning signs I hit my head at least twice. Not really anything they can do about that of course. A bicycle rack to lock bikes to would have been great.
- Paul (9/5): Last minute booking could not of been better - Lovely old pub with very nice rooms
- keith (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Very pleasant under the circumstances - Very nice room clean . Food was excellent and portions were huge! Felt very homely and all the staff were lovely and friendly! One tiny negative was the WiFi in the room wouldn’t work so we couldn’t use Netflix or use our phones, but only a small issue!
- Louise (10/5): - We've stayed before no complaints from. Us
- Day (10/5): -

- Louise (9/5): Would recommend - The staff were amazing the room was comfortable. The breakfast was top notch We had a twin room which was amazing, but the beds seemed small but I think that was just coming from sleeping in a double, so it wasn't a room fault just something to say !
- Mark (9/5): - Great from start to finish. Every team member from reception to the owner was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Nothing to dislike, so glad we stayed here.
- Richard (10/5): Lovely stay (albeit for one night only). Very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean room. Excellent food. - Location was just right for visiting the coast.
Very friendly staff.
Evening meal, drinks and breakfast were excellent.
Room was spotlessly clean 🙂 Our large dog came with us so we could probably have done with a larger room - although not sure if one is actually available!
- Duckworth (8/5): - The landlady is absolutely lovely. She was very attentive and we had fresh milk and kit kats in the fridge. The room was lovely and clean. Great shower facilities. The landlady came in early to make us breakfast which she didn't even charge us for and it was very nice. The area is isolated with nothing to do without a drive away but this was fine for us staying one night for a business trip. The pub is a cute country pub with many locals enjoying their time there. The landlady never stops and is constantly catering for everybody. Thankyou
- Kevin (10/5): Host was fantastic ensure dinner and great breakfast was provided - Drink selection in room, clean

- Chris (9/5): Great value for money, lovely room, people and food - We were delayed by train issues, and the staff were really accommodating and very kindly waited up to receive us. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious especially the local meats. Would highly recommend for all! Room was a little chilly, but that's only because we arrived late and we were fine once in bed.
- anthony (9/5): Charlotte and all the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. - Everything. An ideal place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The room was lovely. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and bottled water and a mini fridge to keep the milk in. Superb breakfasts and ample choice.
Even the locals made us welcome and were warm and friendly. All in all an excellent venue and value for money. I can honestly say that I couldn’t find anything to complain about.
- Christopher (8/5): Nice location very welcoming lovely staff couple of small maintenance issues, would definitely stay again - Good location, nice atmosphere, Excerlent staff Bathroom Room in need of some maintenance, shower difficult to operate and toilet seat loose.

- James (10/5): - Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast excellent. N/A

- PETER (7/5): -
- Mairondel (8/5): Excellent place to stay - I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was, given that it was a pub. I was expecting a lot of noise in a pub on a Saturday night, but it didn't happen. The bar doesn't play music or TV and the customers weren't very loud (though the rooms do overlook the beer garden, so you can hear some talking if you open the windows). Room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were super-friendly, helpful, and polite. It's in a convenient location, not too far from the main roads and the coast. Probably the best room in a pub I've ever had, and definitely on my list of 'places to stay when I go birding in Norfolk' from now on! The wi-fi was fine in the evening, but when I got up in the morning there was no internet. This was exceptionally inconvenient, as I had not planned my route for the day and there were a number of things I needed to look up about the places I was going to visit. No bath available in the twin rooms (probably because the old building means the 'bathroom' is an unsuitable shape and can only fit a shower)
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Mike (8/5): Very friendly staff. Food was good. Very accommodating and friendly with the dog made him wellcome - Well cooked , hot , served well Choice of a mug or cups for coffee.
- Lulu (9/5): Convenient to the wedding venue we were attending. - Room was nice. Lovely old building, with good features.
Breakfast was plentiful. Was noisy most of the days and evenings but, was expected as it’s a pub.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Bernard (9/5): Pleasant, quiet location & good food - Bedroom & bathroom very well appointed Would have been nice to have been able to get a coffee after 10.00 am before the bar opened
- Sally (9/5): A great little pub with comfortable rooms and great breakfast! - Rooms were great and friendly staff great breakfast
- James (10/5): - Friendly and Helpful Staff. Very clean. N/A
- DANIEL (9/5): Very very comfy excellent food and breakfast is awesome - The room was super cozy and the staff were amazing Asked for a top up of coffee and tea and it didn’t happen but hey that’s not the end of the world
- Ann (9/5): -
- Lucas (10/5): Very enjoyable. Wish we had stayed a second or third night - It was very dog friendly. Very clean
And the owner manager was very nice to talk to very personal. And that personal touch stands out
And made us fill very welcome. All the staff were very helpful and yes we would defo stay there again the food was ok and not expensive. Breakfast was lovely
The room was very cosy and we had a lovely nights sleep. Couldn’t find any fault with this inn. I’ve stayed in a lot more expensive hotel. And not felt as welcome
