• Bill (4/5): Run down - Hotel cancelled my room that was booked as an "extra room". I was sent to a nearby hotel that was about a 1 star rating or less. Don Carmelo was a 1.0 at best. No kitchen. Very old and run down even for Latin America.

• dnsadeline (10/5): - I always have a nice experience when staying at this hotel. Is a very basic hotel with small rooms and very small bathroom but is perfect for staying just one night when traveling and needing to go to the airport the next day.

• Gerry (8/5): Great Nica Hotel in Managua - We have stayed at Don Carmelo twice. When we arrived the airport, we were delayed by 30 minutes due to lost baggage. The shuttle driver waited for us. That kind of loyalty deserves to be rewarded, so we stayed there again for our return flight home. We checked in at 11:00 am and spent the entire day there. I have never been in a cleaner hotel. It is spotless. Great A/C in our room, comfortable bed. It is a small hotel so there is a lot of privacy. They have a small 2nd floor balcony overlooking a busy street. A good place for a cold beverage. They also have a lounge area at street level. The staff are very good, Henry speaks perfect english. They have their own shuttle to the airport, so there is no waiting. I would stay there again anytime.

• Verified traveler (10/5): There service is great - They always go the extra mile to make there guests happy. My company has an office near by so is perfect for me. They always accomadate us. Free airport shuttles. And what is important to me is they have great internet and let me work up stairs in their restaurant area. The staff is super friendly and always helpful. The rooms are super clean and air conditioned. I highly recommend staying here.

• Brian (6/5): Small but efficient. - The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. No hot water, and the sink was over the toilet. This is NOT a place to spend a vacation, only a place to spend the night. The hotel staff was courteous, and picked us up from the airport and got the rental car company to pick us up in the morning. They fed us breakfast. The room was very clean. All for a small price.
• DJ (8/5): Basic but clean - We needed a cheap overnight hotel with a free airport shuttle, and Hotel Don Carmelo delivered. My room was very basic - just a single bed, sink, toilet and shower - but I really didn't need much else. The room was clean, and included air conditioning and breakfast in the morning. The hallway was a bit noisy in the morning with people going to breakfast, and I could hear the traffic outside, but that was really the only downside. I would recommend for anyone looking for a budget-friendly hotel for the night.

They have a very nice staff and it is a nice clean facility. The AC worked well. We were picked up at the airport and brought to the bus station the next day, all complimentary.

• Verified traveler (8/5): clean reasonably priced room - Rooms are clean, bathroom is tiny! If you are large or tall, you will not be able to utlilize the bathroom. Rooms exit onto an inner hallway. No outside windows, only onto this hallway. The staff is very willing to please. Henry the manager is fluent in English-but no other staff are. Was able to communicate with our smart phone app. Hotel located on busy street in residential area a 15 minute drive from the airport. If you are looking for a basic clean room, at a reasonable price with free airport transfer, this will suffice.

I told them where we wanted to go and they found us ways to get us where we needed Everytime. Felt so safe and protected by them. Will definitely stay again. My whole family stayed there.
• R. James (4/5): Room not worth the free airport shuttle - Hotel was not in a great part of town, no restaurants within safe walking distance, no warm water & no towels. Taxis in Managua are cheap & everywhere...next time we'll find a better hotel & pay the $2-3 for a taxi to the airport rather than using this hotel because it had a free shuttle.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Does the job - This hotel offers free airport pick up from Managua airport, free (quite good) breakfast, clean rooms with private bathroom plus a ride to the bus station the next morning all for $40USD. It's perfect for what it is. They don't pretend to be anything else than a stopover and for that it does the job.
• Jim (6/5): Good place for a stop over - The first surprise was a pleasant one! The transportation (shuttle) to the hotel from the airport was on time, air-conditioned and free! Sure, it was a bit noisy and the trip seemed to take forever, winding and turning through the streets of Managua. When we arrived, the luggage was carried in to the hotel amid smiles and nods. When I was told there was no charge I felt compelled to give the guys a tip anyway. Check in was easy, paid up front by credit card at the agreed rate. I was escorted to my room, which was basic, and small. Having said that, the bed was comfortable, the wifi was excellent (I watched a hockey game the next day via live streaming) and the bathroom facilities were spotless. Actually the whole room was spotless. It was New Year's eve, I had bought a bottle of cognac at duty free, and I retrieved a glass from the front desk. I stood outside with a few others, (the door guard and the desk person) and watched fireworks and wished everybody Felize Anno Nuevo. Next day after the included breakfast I was advised not to wander around outside by myself. Nothing was open for food, but the staff helped me order a pizza (from Pizza Hut, no less) and was told the hotel sold beer in cans. So for NYD I got to watch hockey, eat pizza and drink beer. All was right with the world. I was leaving for Leon the next morning and got to the lobby early but my driver was already there, at 7:30! I insisted on a cup of coffee before I left and was on my way.

We would stay again if ever In Managua. Great deal for the service. They picked us up from the bus station that is madness and allowed us to check in early after we hadn't slept in three weeks. It was great to catch up on sleep. Thanks!!
• Nathalie (8/5): - Perfekt overnight stop whilst passing through Managua. Easy pickup at the airport which was included in the price of the room. Simple but good breakfast with options of American or traditional (beans rice and eggs). Free WiFi with good connections and very friendly staff that offered to help with just about anything that you need. Short walk to Street with several banks, atm and shops.

Man bör kunna några fraser på spanska om man vill göra sig ordentligt förståd med personalen. Det stora minuset var området annars var hotellet helt klart värt pengarna man får betala.
• Damian (8/5): It's all relative. - I'm a sucker for a pretty face and there were at least three of them behind the counter, all friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet, clean, had A/C, and was comfortable. Breakfast was prompt, free and fresh. What's not to like? The owner/manager took care of me by phone at a late hour. The hotel taxi picked me up from the airport and took me to my destination the next day, for free. I don't know what other people want from a hotel, but for me, nothing was lacking. I would do it again. And free wifi.

• Joseph (10/5): Best Deal in Managua - There were limited reviews on Hotels.com, but through great reviews on Trip Advisor we gave it a shot. Glad we did, service is above anywhere in Nicaragua and shuttle was on time with our names listed for pick-up. Rooms are very clean, though some rooms are small it is still the place we will stay again before and after all flights. I can't say enough. Very thankful we found this hotel.
• Cristina (8/5): Excelente atención y servicio al cliente. - El personal del hotel desde el Gerente general (Henry) hasta el portero, las chicas de la cocina, recepcionista y transportistas (Ramiro y Juan) fueron muy amables. Estaban al pendiente de todo aquello que necesitaras y siempre estaban ahí para ayudarte. Las habitaciones y las instalaciones del hotel estaban muy limpias. El desayuno delicioso. Considero es una excelente opción y un muy buen precio.
• Tracy (8/5): Great cultural experience ! - Had a late flight into Managua. Free transfers waiting. Not too far from airport. Staff amazing couldn't be more accommodating. Rooms basic clean, perfect for a nights stop over. Definitely not your Best Western, but not the reason we travel to Nicaragua ! Breakfast was included and pleasant. Our car rental met us at the hotel early the next morning.
