• Mindy (10/5): - My family of four had a pleasant stay here. The property was exactly as my son had requested - a woodsy lodge near a lake. Our room was tight but it was clean and we had enough soap, towels, etc. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very good. We had to wait a bit to be served, but we were told that as we were seated. If a restaurant is busy, then I assume that it's because the food and service are good, which is was. The lake setting is very pretty and we were blessed with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. We were able to walk across the street to buy snacks and just down the road is a shop that sells homemade fudge and crafts. We really enjoyed our time spent here and would stay again.

• NANCY (8/5): - GreAt personell, lovely location but property is deteriorating. Sheets towels, frig etc clean but room needed a good scrub and dusting.
• Jennifer (10/5): - We checked in and were told we had been upgraded to a lodge room, rather than a hotel unit room, which based on other reviews was a good thing. Pros: Our room had two beds and a sleeper sofa/loveseat. It was relatively clean. Tiny tiny tiny bathroom, but whatever. Good satellite TV and free WiFi. Restaurant and bar onsite. They were ok - nothing special. But this lodge has a spectacular location. Trail Lake is gorgeous. Moose Pass is a cute little community, conveniently close to a lot of things to do. Now for the Cons: this property needs maintenance! It is falling apart. Mattresses are bad. Carpet was ripped and falling apart, balusters on the stairs were falling apart, the dock was not usable. Log siding and wooden trim all deteriorating. Just heartbreaking. It was probably so beautiful back in the day. Please show it some love!
• Nils (2/5): - Like others we were put up at the motel across the street which is outdated and lacks any charme. Very nice and kind owner cannot make up however for one of his staff who provided really uninspiring service, for defensive when we complained and even threatened to throw us out of the restaurant. I hope the owner can fix this place - in the meantime I recommend you stay elsewhere.
• venkatesh (8/5): Good for a night's stopover - Beautiful views, a nice restaurant with good food and a bar. It’s within driving distance of Seward and several hiking trails, and sits right next to a gorgeous lake where you can go kayaking. The rooms are decent, though the internet connection isn’t very reliable.
• Jane (8/5): - The room is rustic and very small. It was clean and sparsely furnished. This is not unusual in small lodges in rural Alaska. Trail Lake and surrounding mountains are beautiful. The food in the restaurant is quite good.

• Ben (4/5): - This property I will review. Although the staff, restaurant and lounge were all great, the room is very small and the bed is very old. No amenities. No TV, no Internet. But the upside is it’s proximity to Kenai fjords national Park. I stayed two nights but paid more than the room was worth.
• Sonsuk (4/5): No tv. Friendly staff. Beautiful location. - No Tv. Almost non-existent wifi. It was only hotel in that town. However, it was in beautiful location , and library do offer a free wifi.
• Mi Seon (4/5): - A very uncomfortable bed with an old mattress. Heater didn’t work in the room and an electric heater didn’t keep the room consistently warm especially at nights. We checked out one day earlier than planned because we didn’t sleep well for two previous nights.

Very very basic and small . Clean though and there was coffee at store across the street for morning. Ok for a quick overnite but not fir anything more

• Laurel (8/5): - This is a cute, no frills lodge in a beautiful spot. The lake outside is stunning. We didn’t have the chance to kayak, but I’m sure it would have been amazing. The staff here is great; very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant, too. And there’s a great deli/espresso/store across the street. We stayed here twice on our 10 day trip and would stay here again.

• Paul (10/5): - We arrived very late- staff made check in very smooth and helped prior to arrival. Let us stay a couple extra hours to get needed sleep after delay at airport. Beautiful spot- wish we could have stayed longer.

• Susan (10/5): Great Stay! - Yes, the room was small but comfortable. Very safe and quiet. Complementary coffee, tea, or cocoa at the restaurant. It is not the Hilton but was perfect as a kick off to Seward (about a 30 minute drive). We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and supper and both meals were delicious. I would stay here again-the sheets were clean and the water was hot! I do not need much else.

• Brandie (6/5): - The lodge was old and dated but that was expected and did not bother us. I gave a lower rating because the beds that were in our room were awful. I'm not too picky about beds, but I could feel the bumpy springs in the bed - they definitely need to change out the mattresses. (just a note that my parents were in a different unit and it was nice and comfy) It also should be noted that the walls are paper thin so you can hear all of your neighbor's conversations and "other activities".

• Alexander (6/5): - I had a little room in their motel unit across the street from the main lodge. I slept well, probably in part because my neighbors were pretty quiet. I could hear them talking, the floors squeaked, I could hear the neighbors bathroom fan, etc. The room was warm and the window was hard to open - I think the tracks need to be loosened a bit. The place is kind of old and tired, but it served its purpose. Lovely location on Trail Lakes. Flightseeing operation next door.
• Bob (4/5): - Typical bait and switch!! Picture IS NOT of the place we stayed!!! Had lunch before we found our room. Wife didn't even make it out of the restaurant before she became ill. We both developed food poisoning. And again, NO refrigerator and one of us had to crawl across the bed from the foot as there was NO room against the wall!! RUN FAST!!!

However, if all you want to do is sleep, it was pleasant and adequate. The restaurant has good food and reasonable prices.

We were across the road and it was the most expensive place I have ever stayed that was that low quality. I get it, they have a brief window to make money. Just an honest review, don’t expect much.

• Tony (6/5): - The room was quiet and clean but the property is in need of help. Bed was old and the water pressure is almost nonexistent. Room is very small. I would still stay there but for only one night not three. Moose Pass is a good location for Seward.

• Ekta (10/5): - Very comfortable stay in a scenic location. Trail lake right behind the lodge with scenic snow clad mountains. Clean property, Scott is a very friendly host. The lodge has a restaurant which serves amazing hot chocolate. We found decent veg options (delicious veg curry and sandwhiches). The place might look a lottle old but has good soul. The room had cute alaska paintings. Even the curtains, lamp, vedsheets all had alaskan beuty captured( forest, moose, mountains etc). Must stay

• Siddhartha (6/5): - Dusty room and very shabby. Only good thing is view of the mountains. 3 star is max for the stay here.
• Natasha (8/5): - I know a lot of the reviews have been negative but this lodge is just a simple, comfortable motel. The rooms haven’t been renovated so they’re a little run down but almost everything was spotless and the linens were clean. I’d say just some of the corners were a bit dusty and there were some hard water stains in the sink. The mattresses are a little saggy but were still decently comfortable. We stayed for a night to catch an early kayak tour out of Seward and it was a good deal. Most other places closer to Seward were at least 2x the cost for a room. Definitely recommend; just don’t expect the Rosewood.

• Chris Biltcliffe (8/5): - Really liked the location and it was ideal for our group. Staff were great and the property was clean and tidy. Also the food was really good.
• Pat (4/5): Room 26 8/8/24 - There was no tv, fridge or alarm clock in the room. The walls were paper thin, we were awoken at 4:30a by the party in the room next door talking. It was as if they were in our room. We could hear every word they said. The mattress was broken down in the middle creating a "hole" & the side by the wall was also broken down causing my wife to 'slide' over to the wall as she slept. When checkout was attempted there was no one at the desk. A brealfast sandwich was advertised to be available but there was no one in the kitchen either. I would've expected more for $145/night.
• Judy (6/5): - Dated but clean for being so old. Food terrible, only 1 person working bar and restaurant and it was full so took long time and it was terrible. Coffe pot in room so if you want cream its $3 for just cup in lobby.
• Tracey (10/5): - Really enjoyed my stay at Trail Lake Lodge. The setting is stunning and I had a great meal at the restaurant after a day of fishing in the rain. It's also conveniently located between Cooper Landing and Seward.
• Murray (4/5): - Don’t think the bedsheets were changed, Wrinkled on one side when I pulled back the top! Bathroom fan sounded like a freight train went on. Not even a glass to take medicine. Poor breakfast menu. You’d think a little renovating would cross their minds.

Our room did not have a television or coffee maker and the restaurant does not open until noon, so limited options for breakfast in the area. Nice place to rest on way back from Seward to Anchorage.
• Darlene (10/5): - I never stayed at this place. I booked b/c it came up as Seward location. It was not until I spoke with cab driver, that I found it was a thirty minute drive.

• William (2/5): - Had 2 night booked but room smelled like dog urine. Everything was booked so they said they could not more us. Everything else in the area was booked and it was pouring so we could not camp. I slept with a bandana over my mouth and nose but it hardly help. Owner did comp us the room for the two nights and and said would have it cleaned the next days while we were in Seward. When we got back from Seward (after cleaning) it still smelled and we left and found other accommodations for the night. Even though that night was comped.
• Ashfaq (4/5): - They showed the picture of the lodge but put me in the motel next to it, it was as dirty room

• Jayanne (4/5): - All the check in and restaurant staff were awesome and friendly! (the room cleaner lacked any customer service etiquette). The location is spectacular, right next to Trail Lake, but the facilites were extremely run down and in dire need of a remodel or at least an upgrade. The room was reasonably clean, but the dust on top of the microwave, the coffee maker and night table was so thick that I had to clean it upon entry. The floors slant to one side and the bed was horribly sagging in the middle giving us sore backs. The vibe was friendly and I hate to give a bad review, but this place needs attention by the owner.
• Shashank (4/5): - Overall, the room was very small. The microwave and fridge were dirty. There was no air circulation inside the room which made it tough to sleep at night. The shower area was very small where one person could barely stand. Not a good experience overall for the high price they charged

• Heidi (4/5): - We researched the property and thought it would be fine for a quick overnight but the room was very small with a typical church stacking chair as the only chair in the room. The food and outdoor dining looked very tasty and the outside seating near the water looked appealing on their web site. That part of the restaurant was not open. My husband’s salmon was rubbery but still quite pricey. My chicken only covered 2/3s of the roll and I paid extra for a salad and ranch dressing. The dressing had lots of dill in it which I don’t like. The pool table was free to use which was nice but had an awful stain on it that was not sanitary looking. Thankfully it was less expensive than other hotels so we dealt with it and left early. Neither of us slept well. It is on a lake which was pretty but we stayed across the street and couldn’t see it. Would not return
• Dennis (6/5): - A bit small and older property, but certainly met our needs of a place to stay warm, dry, and have beds and a bathroom.

• Donald (4/5): - Their website promises television in their motor lodge rooms but our room had no TV. Also, their wifi was so weak we were unable to use it at all.
• Carole (6/5): - The entire room was in need of thorough cleaning and some major renovations. The bedding and linens were clean and fresh so that was a plus. The price was reasonable considering the cost of everything in Alaska and overall the condition of the hotel was on par with most rentals in that area.
• Nick (6/5): - Quaint little lodge in an interesting little town about 20 mins from Seward. Lack of staffing made service a little slow but everyone there was friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but for an overnighter it was just fine. Although the rustic restaurant had a limited menu the food was fresh and tasty.
• gautam pradeep (8/5): - Excellent place to spend the night. Nice and clean. Loved the croissants at the grovery across the street that we had for breakfast. Bathrooms could be a little bigger, they are too cramped.

• Izabella (10/5): - Our stay in Trail Lake Lodge at Moose Pass was wonderful. The accommodations were lovely. The staff was kind- particularly the folk up front named Gwen. An absolute delight! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Precious little town. Thank you!
• Lisa (8/5): - It was nice stop spot for us from Whittier to enjoy the views when we were going to Seward. The staff got our room ready after the hour due to train's delays in Whittier thus tunnel waiting. The room is simple and sweet.
• Sandra (4/5): - I guess they have several different prices for there rooms. I thought we were staying up above. We stayed across the street. We had NO TV AND NO WIFI. The room had space.
• Estela (4/5): - When we arrived we had to wait more than 35 minutes to check in because there was no one at reception. When I called a woman she was very rude and said we had to wait because she was busy. I explained that my old mother needed to go to her room because she wasn't feeling well and the woman said she couldn't do anything because she was busy.
• Christina (6/5): - Fine, but could have been cleaner-like the bathroom walls. Also the walls are paper thin so we could hear the room next to us-room 23, having sex clearly, so not ideal when you’re just trying to get a good nights rest. Maybe don’t put the beds on the same side of the room?
• Verified traveler (6/5): Ok older roadside motel - Older Lodge in the middle of the Alaskan forest, by a beautiful lake. Accomodations were very dated and mismatched but not uncomfortable. Room was above bar and walls were thin, noise from below, around, and the road were pretty distracting. Good food in the restaurant though, with nice people!

• Jason (6/5): - The coffee pot was very dirty. We ran water through it several times and it still was not running clear. We were there for a work trip so our guys were disappointed to not be able to have coffee. Otherwise, an ok place to lay your head.
