Guest Reviews
- Randy (2/5): - old
- Mark (8/5): - Older venue but clean & comfortable
- JEFFREY (2/5): - Gross property, no one there to check us in.
We ended up going somewhere else
- David (10/5): - We had a nice quiet stay!
- Martha (4/5): - Very strong scent and smell of smoke in my non-smoking room. It was very hard to even sleep.
- DANIEL (6/5): - We had to get and return the room keys at a different building. Both floors of rooms are numbered in the 900s... Coffee maker, but no coffee. Bathroom was extremely small.
- Vicki (2/5): - Unfortunately, this is a smoking motel. The minute I opened the door the smell hit me. It has been years since I’ve seen an ashtray in a motel room. I have asthma and could not stay in that room. There was a huge race at the Brainerd international Raceway so there were no rooms within 50 miles. Instead of staying there, I chose to drive the 2 1/2 hours home.
- Rondee (8/5): 2 day stay - The room was clean
But they need to put more than 1 garbage can in the room
The air conditioner for the motel needs to be upgraded because the room is to warm.
Or put air conditioner units in each room
No ice machine in the motel
Thanks
- Karl (4/5): - Check-in was in a separate building, which was odd, but staff likely wouldn’t want to stay in this building with no A/C all day either. Also smelled like smoke in the hallways but at least not in the room. Tub faucet leaked and dripped all night, shower head was only usable on the highest “jet” setting.
If you need a bed and a roof for a night, it’ll work. Don’t expect much more though.
- Patti (2/5): - We didn’t even stay there. We walked into our room and it was so hot we were sweating. Broken AC that they never informed us about. We turned around, walked out and handed the keys back.
- William (2/5): - Junk
- Thomas (10/5): - no elevator, site of building with our room a block away from the desk
- Jerry (6/5): - Hotel is an older hotel. If you just need a bed, and a shower l, it will work fine. Strong smell of old cigarette smoke in the lobby and hallways. Air conditioning doesn’t work very well.
- McKenzie (10/5): - Love bringing my family there to stay very friendly people!
- Tanya (8/5): - The property is well kempt and you have use of the nearby pool as well which is a great bonus
- Adam (8/5): - I liked it's location and it's Pool And jym area
- Patti (8/5): - Property room could have been cleaner. Obvious roof leaks noted in ceiling, heating was difficult to control, phone did not work, light bulb burned out, refrigerator froze everything. It was convenient for our needs, price was ok. Was not informed that you had to travel to another building for swimming and activity. There was no smoking there but there was definitely smoking, not only cigarettes going on in building, that and barking dogs in a no animal building. Beds were good and tv in main room and bedroom were nice to have. Small kitchenette was handy with microwave and toaster, coffee maker. Carpeting needs cleaning as it looks like someone threw up on a couple spots.
- Marshall (10/5): - Perfect for what it cost
- Verified traveler (10/5): Business trip - Was a late night check in, approx 930 pm. Room was nice and cozy. Perfect size for 1 person traveling through the area. Price was really good for 1 nite. 100% recommend it to anyone in Breezy Point, MN. Hotel itself is a short distance from Pine River, Pequot Lakes, Nisswa, and Baxter/Brainerd.
- Lisa (6/5): Check in elsewhere - Fyi you have to check in at a different location. The room was clean.
- Ben (4/5): Survived to tell the tale - The price of the stay summed up what you got! A smoke smelly room, with a broken screen. Sticky stuff on a 1970's style wood chair, and not too sure much else was actually clean!
- Charles (10/5): Cabin on the hill - The location was great. It's really out dated but I that's what I like about it. It's clean and quiet and the price was right.
- Matt (6/5): - I’m surprised there are still smoking rooms this day and age. Each day I left, my clothes smelled like smoke. Why not make it all non smoking
- Linda (4/5): - The property you gave me was supposed to be a 2 bedroom. It was a one bedroom with a fold out. The foldout had no sheets, just a pillow. And a blanket. The temp in unit was 85 degrees. Had to open windows. Breezy came and corrected all the issues the 2nd night. The tv didn’t work either. They had to switch out a cable box. By the way you may need to correct the listing it is not correct. Don’t list it as a 2 bedroom. Correct this issue. I have been mis advertised twice now. I don't think I will book with you again.
- Lou Ann (6/5): - 2 staff members at the desk with door locked not paying attention that there was a customer in the lobby. Desk attendant told us our room was upstairs so we climbed the stairs with our luggage (we are 70 & 75) only to find out that our room was actually on ground floor.
- Tanya (8/5): Simple. - Simple. Perfect for the family getaway 4-wheeling.
- Lisa (6/5): - Smell of smoke in room, springs in bed mattress were broken and loud
Room was very clean and staff was nice at check in.
- Dean (10/5): - Everything wss great
- Jacqueline (4/5): - The building really stank. It was old, run down. Poor light. Creepy.
- Jack (8/5): - This motel was near where we needed to be and the cost was significantly less than other locations. The rooms are adequate for sleeping and showering--we weren't there to stay in our room. WiFi was good, and the TV had ample stations.
- Curt (6/5): - Price
- Marilyn (6/5): - Heard neighbors all night. Walls very thin. Also very dark. Hen you walked in lobby smelled terrible also hallways smelled like cigarettes
- Merril (6/5): - The room was VERY COLD and there was no way to control the temp. The toilet ran constantly. The room and entry had a strange smell.
- Pablo (10/5): - Hood
- Heidi (10/5): - It’s an inexpensive stay. It’s not the Ritz. But that’s what you’re paying for. It’s clean. It’s tidy. It’s safe. And everyone is friendly! Worth every darn dollar!
- satishkumar (6/5): No Pelicans here. - Basic room. No additional amenities.
No control for air conditioning. Got pretty cold and no way to control the temperature.
- JAMES (8/5): - N/A
- Ann (10/5): - No screen on the window toilet rocked a lot didn't know they didn't accept Expedia payment
- Larry (8/5): - Freezing cold in room
- Jennifer (4/5): - Outdated smells badly of smoke- even non smoking rooms
- vicki (2/5): - Would not recommend. Room only had bed, tv, only shelves to store clothing, no blow dryer, no fridge, no microwave. Had to drive to get to pool/hot tub. No control for conditioning, room was extremely cold. Nothing to make coffee/tea. Toilet not connected correctly and hit wall when used. Have stayed at nicer places for less. Would not stay here again.
- Jeremy (10/5): - This is a Gem loved the place for the family couldn’t of asked for a better room the pool area was great alll around experience was amazing
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was a non-smoking room in a smoking building. Room smelled of smoke. Bed was so bad it squeaked just breathing in it let along moving around. Pool was closed. No screen on the window so we couldn't even get fresh air in the room with bug coming in. No dressor or vanity to store your things. Good location and staff was friendly.
- Tamer (8/5): - Location
- Marcia (8/5): Basic, clean and good enough - Price was fine. We basically just slept there - gone to lake and about all day. It was good for that, but WAY TOO COLD! And no way to control the air conditioning.
- Russell (8/5): - n
- Lori (2/5): - Terrible! No coffee, no hair dryer, No Ice Machines. TERRIBLE RUST SMELLY WATER, Bath plug gross. Toilet Dirty, Toilet constantly running, had to flick handle to get it to stop. Constantly! No separate Air Or Heat controls, in rooms. Disgusting Place. Waste of Good, Hard Urned MONEY!
- Tracie (2/5): - Property is very old. Has not had any updating. Shower head sprayed all over bathroom, toliet ran all day/night, TV did not work for the whole stay (they did look at it. Said it was a cable provider issue) Water smells like rusty metal, can not set a temperature in the individual rooms (downstairs was freezing, upstairs was hot) they did bring a space heater and a fan..No ice machine in the building.
I have been to youth camps that have better accommodations. Will not recommend or stay again. Did t have a choice to go anyplace else as all was booked. And had a family wedding to attend.
- Kevin (2/5): Wow… - 2 single beds
TV didn’t work
No microwave or refrigerator
Bldg smells like a cigarette butt
- Patricia (2/5): Suites not sweet - This hotel incorrectly advertises the type of hotel, where it is and the condition. Before arrival we were worried about it being a "Bates" hotel. Check in isn't even at the hotel. Upon arrival, we thought, oh these rooms arent too bad for the price for putting our head down on a pillow. After being in the whirlppol suite, we found major issues. The main one, the base board heater was on in the bedroom. We called to complain. They said they would send maintenance to fix it. This was Thursday. Friday we had to complain again. They finally came Friday afternoon, so they say. Upon returning to the room from being gone until late afternoon, our room felt like a sauna. They said we had our heat on, on the wall thermostat. We did not. Touching the base board, it was still hot. Finally on Saturday maintenance had to shut off the main heat breaker to the suite. The complaint of the water, their response was let the water run for 10 minutes. Really?? Its a two floor motel with only 14 rooms!!! Oh, and the pull out couch had no bedding. The bed should have been replaced years ago.
- Frank (2/5): - Asked for non smoking room, room reeked of smoke, no ac, only hot water in ahower, not on sink, no fridge, no coffee, my thiird and last time to ever stay there
- Debbie L (2/5): - There is no front desk on property. Did not feel safe with the kind of lock on door. No fridge, microwave, hair dryer or ice machine. Very noisy toilet. No screens on windows. No extra pillows. No regulator for room temperature. Put sign on door for maid to make up room, never came(was there more than 1 day).
If 2 of us sat on end of bed to put shoes on, the front of bed flew up. Got voucher for bag of ice, but u had to buy something, so its a wash.
- Jose (10/5): - Great for the price
- Jared (2/5): - Bath tub wouldnt drain very warm in the room no screen on window ao i didnt open it noisy
- Scott (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent value for the price.
- Heather (6/5): - Can’t beat the price!
- Corey (6/5): - The property was fine. I just wish I knew it was smoking. The room smelled and everything smelled. But room was clean and it was basic. So it is what it’s is and it was clean and cheap
- Melinda (10/5): - Always an awesome place to stay for the price. The pool & hottub are a bonus.
- Melinda (10/5): Very nice for the price :) - Very unexpected how big the junior suite was. For the price & the accommodations it was perfect for our 2 night stay. The staff was very friendly & accommodating . Access to the pool was a bonus. You need to bring your own coffee but stores are close by. The kitchenette with dishes & a stove were also nice.
- Ingrid (2/5): - We asked for a handicapped room, so they put us on second floor (no elevator). We could not access the "free" wi-fi. We tried to call the front desk for help, each time we lifted the receiver we got a dial tone, pressed "O" and were disconnected. There was one lamp in the room, it was not plugged in, and had no bulb. There was a complete lack of amenities like: microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, hair dryer. We did not complete our paid for stay. When I checked out at the off-site office and infromed them of the above, they answered "we do have free wi-fi," otherwise showed no concern.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Could not control temperature in room. No refrigerator in room.
- Michelle (8/5): - It's dated, but was a quick drive to the wedding venue that we were going to and we paid a lot less than everyone else who had to have hotel rooms. We would stay there again.
- Nathan (6/5): - It was a reasonable option price wise for us to stay and enjoyed our stay.
- Gary (2/5): - The main air conditioner was broke on our second day and night. 97 degrees outside and it was hotter in our room. So hard to sleep! They would not give us a discount for the hardship. What a bunch of tightwads....
- Rodney (2/5): - Smoking is allowed in about half the units. There is no way anyone can avoid the smell that permeates throughout the building. We were on the ground floor, no air conditioner and no screen in the window. Phone did not work. It was a BASIC motel room with no amenities. We will not be back.
- Robin (2/5): - Air didn’t work, shower head totally clogged, had to take toilet apart for every flush. No service at all. Not even clean towels. Epitome of lazy employees that should be fired. Non existent managers.
- Randall (4/5): - Rooms were very outdated. Bathroom was poor at best. walls are thin....very noisy! Defiantly not worth the money.
- Barry (4/5): - Dirty, paper thin walls, no amenities (tVv /internet)
- Joel (4/5): - When I first got there, I had to call the number in the sheet of paper because I saw no check-in desk. To be honest, I was annoyed to have to go to another building a block away, after just driving 600 miles. I asked if a microwave, fridge, or even a coffee maker was available. The staff replied. “Most people just go to the gas station to get coffee.” Well, that’s on me for not checking for such basic amenities. I felt like the furnishings were outdated and VERY basic. At least the room was cold as I like it, and the sheets were clean. The first time I turned on the bathtub faucet, nasty black stuff came out! Parking was inadequate, so I had to park across the street. Luckily the business did not have a towing sign (that I saw). I would not recommend this place. It has taught me a lesson to check for basic amenities before committing!
- Mitchell (10/5): - Next to grocery store, hardware store and bar with great band
- Richard (4/5): Old school Hotel - The tub was dirty with a rust ring around the drain, it was also dripping constant. The sink was very slow to drain. Cigarette burns on the carpet all over.
80’s themed hotel.
- Terance (8/5): - Large room reasonably priced clean one of the TVs did not work
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wouldn't stay here again unless changes were made - I wouldn't book this hotel again, I'll take a campsite over this. It's too high priced for what your getting; a bed, bathroom & tv. Most rooms are different; two of them had more amenities than the rest. Our room didn't have A/C, a mini fridge, or a microwave which is the non-suite rooms. Our window didn't have a screen so we couldn't leave the window open at night & our heat was on MAX when we got into the room. Smoking and Non-smoking rooms are mixed, pool & workout room are 2 blocks away in another building. Stained carpet, no ice machine in building, tub faucet pulling away from the wall, wobbly toilet, and no signs of house keeping. Oh and all your belongings are "protected" behind a simple bedroom door type lock. No deadbolt. All for $197 for 2 nights. Oh, and no pets allowed or your fined $500. Checkout any time after noon and it's $75/hour...just ridiculous fees and high priced. If they changed the nightly rate to $50-$60 per night then I'd stay here again. Want to charge $90/night UPDATE THE ROOMS!
- Frank (2/5): - Booked non smoking and they stuck me in a smoking room, had to go to walmart and buy scents and clorex spray and candle for room cause it smelled so bad
- Rodney (8/5): - The room was extremely cold the first part of the night and no thermostat in the room. Finally climbed up on a chair to close the A/C duct. Temperature was okay after that. Hallway was very smokey smelling. The door to the room was extremely narrow and difficult to get power wheelchair in. Overall was decent.
- Michael (4/5): - Had to drive to a different building a block away, and the room reeked of smoke
- Hunter (8/5): - There was a confusion during check in - online we could not pick between a smoking and non-smoking room, just book a room. I didn't even know there was still such a thing. At check-in we were not told that they were giving us a smoking room, we don't smoke. The room stunk so bad - we did go back to the front desk - they told us we should have booked non-smoking on line, that was not an option through Expedia.com. But they did have a non-smoking room left and gladly changed rooms for us. That room was much better. Nothing special, but for a quick over night it worked, after we got a non-smoking room.
- James (2/5): - Horrible stay!! People smoking illegal substances the bathtub wouldn't drain and and black chunks in it, the smell of stale cigarette smoke was horrible.. called front desk immediately after arriving and they wouldn't help. then after we booked another hotel and wanted refund than they offered to move to another room DO NOT STAY HERE!!
- Dennis (6/5): - The office was closed when I needed to leave early in the morning. Instructions for leaving the key were kind of weird and inconvenient, which ended up costing me an extra $20.
- Mary (6/5): - the check-in/out, pool and gym were buildings away. The price was the most reasonable. You get what You pay for: TV , BATHROOM, BED, 2 PILLOWS, a KEY to lock and unlock door. i would stay again for the price. no frills.
- Danielle (4/5): - The TVs and the toaster didn’t work, people just party all night long in the motel. No sleep what so ever
- Dianne (10/5): - I enjoyed my day and had a great time at the hotel
- Dean (10/5): I could live there - Working in town and the mid week rate made it cheaper to stay than it was for me to drive home and back daily. Perfect temp hot tub and pool w water slide?! I’ll be there again next week
- Barbara (4/5): - There was no dressers no microwave. No extra garbage bags
The bed was hard no cushion to it at all. And no refrigerator.
- Jose L (2/5): - I didnt stay because they close lobby at 1100pm as per Kimberly noone there to register and give you key. I want my refund i had to go rent at quality motel
- Sarah (10/5): - I did not expect much for $50 a night but having access to the pool and fitness center that is shared by a couple hotels was really great!
- Jason (4/5): - Everything was fine except for the very loud tenant upstairs from us, and the smell of smoke in the non-smoking rooms.
other people were banging on the wall as well to get them to stop, but they didn't until almost 3 am! Two nights in a row!
- Timothy (8/5): - Great price
Small parking lot
- Tony (4/5): - Ok pricing but very outdated and dirty
- Jeff (8/5): - We were disappointed in the room. It didn't have a fridge, coffee pot, or anyplace put put are things.
The bathtub faucet dripped the hole time. And not being able to control the air was awful. It was freezing in are room. Not recommending that place to friends.
- Olivia (10/5): - The property was ideal for being in breezy with out having to pay $500 a night. We didn’t spend much time in the room with all of our plans, which made it worth it. However, Expedia double booked us and they ended up moving us across the street ti the commander. The staff was super nice and brought us extra pillows right away!
- greg (10/5): Pelican stay - Smal room, clean.
- Patricia (10/5): - The room smelled like smoke and fried food. The air conditioner kept going off and on all night. It would turn off and then immediately turn back on. Sometimes it would get very loud. We didn’t get much sleep. We will never stay in that building again.
- Richard (2/5): Thumbs down!!! - I would never recommend this to any one. While it was clean that is the only good thing I can say. The mattress was lousy as was the pillow. There was no towel rack to hang a towel on, no hair dryer, closet, mini fridge.Nothing!! Very cramped quarters!
- Carole (6/5): - Basic camp dorm room - could they at least add some hooks or hangars for clothes?
- Frank (2/5): - While some may like the oldness of the property i did not, paper thin walls, could hear everything coming from other rooms, no ac, no microwave, no fridge, no ice and no coffee, complete waste imo
- Stephanie (6/5): - I was in a non smoking room but surrounded by smoking rooms…the smoky smell permeated the halls. It was so strong smelling it made for an unpleasant night.
- Linda (8/5): Clean but basic - The room was dated but clean. The carpet was light in color so it was obviously new are kept very clean.
The beds were not the greatest and the room had no amenities, no mini fridge, microwave or hairdryer.
- Lanny (8/5): - Clean and well maintained. Short on amenities like frig and microwave.
- John (6/5): Very basic. - My stay was basic and OK. The check in, pool and sauna were located in a seperate building too far to easily walk to my room. The tub faucet leaked . The TV did not work but a service person quickly showed up and fixed it.
