Guest Reviews
- Lynn (8/5): - Nice people.
Bad advice on dinner recommendations.
- Rita (8/5): - We loved the location, easy to locate, the person at the front desk was very helpful in so many ways, made the whole experience exceptional, thank you
- Fay (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable.
- Carolyn (10/5): - My two daughters and I had a fantastic stay. Great location for visiting Santa's Village. Friendly staff, clean and safe accommodations, and comfortables rooms. We are very excited to visit again next year!
- Arlin (6/5): - Ok
- David (10/5): - comfortable clean rooms and friendly staff
- Lisa (10/5): - Clean and hospitable!
- Nathan (8/5): - Extremely loud especially at night with cars driving by all night long. Hard to get sleep. Other than that and not having a fridge for water or snacks it was great.
- Leslie (10/5): - It was a quick overnight stay. Everything was clean. Plenty of places to charge devices
- Janice (10/5): - The staff was very friendly. We have 4 kids and the family suite was perfect for us.
- Rashiem (10/5): - As someone who loves nature, this location is very serene. The owners are friendly, the breakfast exceeded what I was expecting and the room was just as advertised and was well kept. Check in and check out was simple and if attending any shows at the Weathervane Theater, this is where you want to stay. I will definitely be staying here again.
- Amy (10/5): - What a lovely stay . Looking forward to next time!
- Carol (10/5): - The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and well presented. Even though it was a little outdated it was very nice.
- Albana (10/5): - The owners are just amazing. They go above snd beyond to make their guests feel comfortable and enjoy the stay.
- Amit (2/5): - Some old wood building with old bathroom tub
- Lou (10/5): - Wonderful low-key property with a staff that made feel welcome from the first encounter. Clean, cozy room and very nice self-serve breakfast. We’d stay again next time we are in the area.
- Sharon (8/5): - The location was very convenient and it was quiet and in a safe area.
- Lucinda (4/5): - The staff was helpful and friendly and the property was clean but this was a retro early 1970s bathroom in olive green (that’s not the bad part) with a shower head from Ramada and the shower walls were a poorly done handy dandy repair. The ceiling is a drop ceiling that’s warped with old and tired bedding and carpet: the beds were hard and every sound from the second floor could be heard as well as the road noise of every vehicle. I felt like I was in an old basement made up with shoddy workmanship to be a room. The tv has something that requires your smart phone or iPad to project to the tv; no cable. There’s no way this old motel room is worth over $200 per night. We left after the first night; we had two nights reserved and paid for. We did not get all of our money back but we didn’t care. We had absolutely zero sleep. The door is a hollow core interior door without a peep hole or deadbolt. The bottom of the door is unevenly cut and the door frame is off kilter: This is a place for college age boys who want to ski.
- RISHAV (10/5): - We stayed for the fall season!
Beautiful place with clean rooms.
Friendly owner, very accommodating, do enjoy the back garden and bonfire.
A peaceful place.
- Andreas K (10/5): Convenient stopover - Comfortable stay on our road trip .
Rooms have been newly remodelled .
- Benjamin (10/5): - The room was extremely clean and comfortable and the owners are friendly and helpful. If i'm in the area again, i will certainly be staying here.
- Shauna (10/5): - Great couple with a great inn!
- Rebecca (10/5): - This was our second time staying at the Barron Brook Inn, and yet again it was amazing. The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location. We will definitely be planning another trip.
- Frederick (4/5): - Very dated rooms. Stuffy
- Micah (8/5): Roadside Inn - Beautiful location, super friendly service. Hospitable and homey. Old-school roadside Inn. Family feel with welcoming common areas and a fire pit out back.
- Joyce (6/5): - On the positive side, our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was helpful. However, based on the photos and the price, I expected something nicer. This property is very rustic and "campy" ... thin pine doors, very outdated. No closet in our room and the bathroom was very small, with no space to store anything. A very loud fan goes on whenever the light is turned on.
- Paula (8/5): - Everything was great EXPEPT rather noisy due to constant traffic.
- Steven (8/5): Stay for Santa village - Enjoyed our stay. Owner extremely friendly. Very nice continental breakfast. Perfect spot to stay for our Santa village visit
- Patrick (8/5): - Comfortable spot.
host. Would stay again.
- Daniel (10/5): - Attentive staff and easy access
- William (6/5): - Bath Room is a bit antiquated. Faucets dripped and toilet flapper kept getting stuck so toilet was running. AC in the room was very good but halls and main areas not air conditioned (unseasonably hot). Continental breakfast was adequate, could have had a few more choices. Coffee was plentiful and hot but pot difficult to pour without making a mess. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- VEACESLAV (8/5): - all good
- Sarah (10/5): - The owners are so kind and accommodating and the property is lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here.
- Eric (10/5): - Small family run property. Friendly staff and enjoyable breakfast.
- Brad (4/5): - Not ADA compliant (no ramp, just stairs) made handling luggage difficult. Proprietor was almost too friendly.
- Paul (10/5): Great staff quite place - Very friendly and attentive staff. Had a minor issue, they dropped everything to address it then followed up with me after.
- zao (6/5): - clean
breakfast too humdrum
- THI THU HUONG (10/5): - This is a lovely quiet place to stay. The owner is hospitable and enthusiastic. I will introduce it to my friends when they go to enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery
- William (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay. Saw a real moose on our travels around the area.
- Stacy (10/5): - Grand old motel, very homey, beautiful grounds, comfortable, excellent dining recommendations by staff! Google Maps directed me to an empty lot across the street. If you find yourself in the woods, look behind you :)
- Sandra (10/5): - What a welcoming, cozy, friendly experience! It was more than just a place to spend the nite while on vacation. Jason and Beth and staff go out of their way to insure you will have a comfortable and memorable stay. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water, continental breakfasts- (early), cleanliness, good facilities are all important and you find that here. But helpfulness, customer service, personal interest, going out of the way to help and suggesting local activities are things not always found, but here it is! Thank you Jason and Beth
- Mei (10/5): - The owner made everyone feel like part of the family. It was very warm environment.
- Debra (10/5): Relaxing B & B - My husband and I really enjoyed our short stay here. Super nice and helpful staff. It is a rustic, simple and relaxed B & B atmosphere. Pillows are skimpy and no black out curtains but we slept well especially when I put my earplugs in as the walls are thin. The common room was really conducive to chatting with fellow travelers. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly, hospitable owners and staff. We enjoyed our stay
- John (6/5): - Inn needs a lot of renewal. Lobby and porch area are nic but rooms need help. At least change the carpets.
- Duane (8/5): - I would stay at this property again. I would suggest not room 102 as it is against the stars and can hear people walking up and down the stairs through the room wall. The Hosts were very nice, helpful in areas of the building but in this area of NH with places to go, see and enjoy. A homey atmosphere with an inviting deck and large fire pit area. Wifi worked great, TV was a challenge, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway. The room was kept exceptionally clean during our 3 nights there. We'll check back into this property if ever in this area.
- PAULA (10/5): Maine Trip - Enjoyed our stay. Greeted by staff with offers to help us unload. Room was spacious, owner was extremely helpful with advice and suggestions.
Area was quiet and close to different little towns.
- Marcel (6/5): - There was no tv reception, no telephone, and no complimentary coffee.
- Jamie (10/5): - Lots of personality, kind staff. So cute.
- THERESA (10/5): - Lovely area, comfortable room. Especially the bed…all as advertised very nice place to stay!
- Kristen (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice firepit out back. Nice quiet B&B.
- Veronica (10/5): - We will definitely go back here. Comfortable, stress free atmosphere. Went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
- James (10/5): Welcome to Comfort! - Clean comfortable room, friendly engaged staff. Several choices for serve yourself breakfast. Family run.
- Shandelyn (10/5): - Quite
- Stefanie (10/5): Amazing owners and beautiful views - The owners are wonderful, I had a medical emergency and the owner called 911 and he stayed with me and promised to help me and my family in anyway possible. I would definitely stay again.
- Kenneth (10/5): Amazing homey hotel - Incredibly kind staff, and the room was extremely clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Better than places like LaQuinta.
- Maijia (10/5): Great Stay - The owners were wonderful and very hospitable. The room was very cute and very clean. The breakfast spread was great. I would recommend this motel to anyone!
- Orin (10/5): - We had a very enjoyable stay. The inn is up-to-date and clean, comfortable and friendly. We had very restful sleep.
- Robin (10/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Ver nice people, very clean and peaceful.
- Louie (10/5): - Comfortable and friendly. Will definitely stay again!
- Amy (10/5): Relaxing stay - We had a great time! Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the mountains were peaceful. We enjoyed eating breakfast each morning on the back porch and soaking in the fresh air.
- Mary -Ellen (10/5): - Owners/innkeepers SO friendly!
- Travis (10/5): - Very clean and cozy place to stay. My brother and I came for the weekend to hike Mount Washington! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly at the Baron Brook Inn. You can tell the owner really care about this place. Will definitely be back👍
- Susan (8/5): - Owners are friendly and accommodating.
- Muath (8/5): - The place is comfortable and clean. The couple that run the place are really nice. Could not ask for more of that.
But breakfast was limited. The bathroom needs to be updated. There was no frig.
- Lauren (10/5): I’ll be back! - We were the first guests of the season! We were there for a wedding down the road and enjoyed the stay. The owners and Em were so welcoming and helpful! I can’t wait to come back!
- Darlene (10/5): - A few notes for clarification from our experience; as far as the TV situation is concerned: the TV's in the rooms have a Chromecast installed on them, using GuestCastTV to perform authetication to allow access to the Chromecast. As such, you must have a mobile device with apps installed with the content that you want to view on the TV, and those apps must have casting ability. For those who want live TV, you'll need a subscription service like YouTubeTV, or something from a cable channel. Netflix, etc. are OK (laptops are not), but in any case, that app must have its own feature to allow for casting. Space restrictions prohibit me from further info.
A few other things, it's not a fully accessible property. There's no way to get to any room without at least 3-5 steps. The heat is a little glitchy, either too much or not enough. The breakfast is continental only (no protein) but sufficient, with a microwave available in the lobby. Refrigerators are available, for $10 per night, but only a few are available, so one will need to be brought into the room when checking in.
However, let me say that it's a lovely, clean property; definitely nostalgic. We had to stay in one day because of terrible weather, and the rooms, bathrooms, and beds are comfortable for a longer stay. It's a nice jumping off point to not only a couple of nearby towns (with a few restaurants & groceries in Whitefield & Lancaster), but also attractions like North Conway, Gorham, Berlin, & Mt. Washington.
- Teresa (10/5): - The owners are superior hosts! They are warm and welcoming and very friendly. They were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips on where to go and what to see. The breakfast was delicious and we met a lot of interesting people.
- Eileen (10/5): Great location and Inn - We travel a lot and we found this inn exceptional. The owners are super friendly and helpful. They make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The rooms are nice and the inn is located well for Mt Washington. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant stay in New Hampshire - Very clean and friendly.
- Catherine (10/5): - Beth and Jason, the owners were very personable and were very concerned that we had everything we needed. A very good experience overall.
- Carol (8/5): - The innkeepers are delightful as was the room. We were surprised to find that the room had no tv unless you had a streaming service on your phone which we don't. It would have been nice to know that in advance. Location is perfect for the Weathervae Theatre and touing the north. Continental breakfast was good.
- Mohammad (10/5): - Clean. Friendly Staff. Great backyard
- Lois (10/5): - Big beautiful rooms.
- Ray (10/5): Great place - Great stay, the only down side was that the road was kind of loud at night. The staff was great, and they have a player piano!!
- Charles (8/5): August 2022 Visit - Owners and staff were wonderful. They were very responsive to customers needs. AC unit was very loud in our room even with ear plugs making it difficult to sleep. Turned it off and opened the windows. Place dates to late 1890s with numerous additions. If you have allergies bring your inhaler as our room was musty. Place is very clean. Good quirky. . Breakfast was continental (muffins, toast, cereal, oat meal, coffee, tea, etc ).
- Karen (10/5): - I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in this area. Great host. On site at all times. Ready to answer any questions about the area or the inn. Very helpful. Carring luggage .etc. Fire pit , outdoor and indoor seating for the great continental breakfast. Very homey feeling , cleaned daily.
- April (10/5): - Amazing wilderness and fire pit. Beautiful viewa
- Sherry (10/5): - We were very happy with our staff here. Owners were very friendly and helpful
- Hans (10/5): - Our 3-night stay at BARRON BROOK INN was an enjoyable experience for several reasons. The accommodations were comfortable, the rooms and shared spaces of the Inn (eating area, recreation rooms, outdoor deck) were very clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast provided a nice touch (best coffee in NH). The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and provided helpful information about things to do in the area. Atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. We will stay here again the next time we are in the region.
- Darrell (10/5): - Friendly owner and staff. Room was clean, spacious, and up to date.
A good selection of basic breakfast items, fresh and wholesome. Cold cereal, instant oatmeal packs, bagels and cream cheese, etc. Good coffee, too, with real half n half, and "not from concentrate" OJ.
- Emma (10/5): - Loved it!!! So clean and homey!
- Louie (10/5): - Friendly staff, nice and quiet. Quick access to the hiking trials.
- Joseph (6/5): - It was very clean, and the owner was very nice. It’s quiet. But they have no tv so if this is important to you then I don’t recommend it. Great for a 2 night stay but not somewhere I’d stay for a vacation.
- Donald (10/5): - We loved the people at the Inn, who made us feel welcome and cared for every day. We thought our room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. The only negative was traffic noise, but a couple of soft earplugs solved that issue and e we slept very well. The Inn is centrally located too many of the best sights in the Green Mountains. We would definitely stay here again!
- Hope (8/5): - Nice place to stay off the beaten path but close to restaurants. The innkeeper was very nice and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants. Quiet and comfortable.
- Gayathri (6/5): - Likes: clean and neat rooms. Host was very great.
Dislikes: For all other things like kettle , fridge, microwave u need to come to common dining space. For the rent charged facilities inside the rooms were less.
- Betty (10/5): - This was a great inn! We stayed here a couple nights when we went up the Cog Railway and had hoped to do some hiking in the area. It was gray and rainy when we were there but this inn was a cozy place to return to and hang out. The innkeeper/owner had good suggestions for places to eat and hike. He was overall really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was simple and fine. It was nice to have a kettle always ready for making tea. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and a place you could hang out (because of the crummy weather). A nice setting and the place was easy to find. The place was nicely decorated too. I'd come back and stay here if I came back to NH again. I think we were lucky to find a room here when we did!
- Marcia Knudsen (10/5): - The owner and staff very friendly, even came to our car and carried our luggage in. The owner is from our home area, so we had much in common and enjoyed chatting. The building is older, but very clean and decorated well. We would definitely stay there again!!!
- Diana (10/5): Great - A great experience went to visit family near by and to do some fall foliage sites.Such a great little place very quiet and CLEAN.Nice little extras fire pit at night and yard is just so tranquil to have your morning coffee or partake in the awesome continental breakfast. The owners were very friendly and helpful no matter the need.As i am in the area often sorry it is seasonal but will definitely be back next season. Many thanks
- Jenny (10/5): - clean
- Lisa (10/5): Great place! - The rooms where clean and smelled great! Staff were so nice and helpful! Definitely would stay there again.
- Jeannie (10/5): - The owners have done a great job of decorating and maintaining this motel. It is clean and welcoming. The area is beautiful. Check out Littleton and Lancaster - just a bit down the road.
- Taylor (10/5): - Friendly and accommodating owners
- Amanda (10/5): - Cozy, comfy, and peaceful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff is very pleasant and accommodating.
The grounds are well kept, and the outside porch was great.
The dining area is lovely.
- Jennifer (10/5): Loved it! - Cute, Clean, Comfortable! Nice linens, nice furnishings. Great hosts!!
- Jennifer (10/5): It's like your own Hallmark movie! - This inn was my favorite experience from our entire trip in New England. Mr. Cape, the owner, is an absolute blast! His knowledge of the area is extensive and he seemed to really enjoy what he does. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were adorable and very clean. I felt like I was at Grandma's. Beds were comfy. There is a canoe and a small dock. Mr. Cape lit the fire pit at the end of the day. This was all around one if the best experiences we had!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and home like feel. Maybe more amenities bit loved the stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly inviting environment on the woods edge. Lots of wild life and everything comfortable. Owners very accommodating. Great visit.
