Guest Reviews
- Ikeue (10/5): -
- warut (10/5): - convenient location and good communication staff
- Jing Yi Melissa (8/5): - This is the budget version of the property, away from the main property, but for anyone looking for a no frills stay, this place is exactly it. Relatively modern room and very clean. Size of the room will be a squeeze with large suitcases, will recommend bringing smaller hand carry bags if possible.
- LAI FONG (8/5): -
- Cheng yun (8/5): -
- Roman (10/5): - Thank you so much for this lovely expierence with our familiy at your Ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen. It‘s been a wonderful time 🙏
- Louise (10/5): - I love the room. very clean and comfortable
- Mimi (6/5): - You get what you pay for. This is a no frills hotel… please note there are no elevators…
- Robert (10/5): - Great Japanese experience. Lovely room .. traditional style. Great location walk to everything .. station5 mins… onsens all easy access.. great stay.

- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Leung (2/5): Never introduce friends, never go again - Room smell of decoration
No shower, need to go to other hot springs, very inconvenient
Never introduce friends, never go again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Didn’t get much bang for our buck. No shower, toilet was outside, had to make up beds. It was clean and well located though. Just don’t think it was worth what I paid for room.
- S. (8/5): - Much more affordable than other ryokan I found, and very centrally located. But we were put in an annex building away from the main property, and with no shower in the room, the walk to the public bath in winter was very cold - not their fault, but I should have paid more for a place with bath on site.
- Ced (10/5): - Établissement joli, chambre immense, personne aux petits soins.
Maison auberge typiquement japonaise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Provided along with the room was a yukata to use during the stay, as well as an onsen pass to visit the 7 onsens in the town.
- Marcus (8/5): Great Onsen Town - Such an amazing onsen town to visit. Nice place to stay as it is conveniently located. No shower or bathroom; toilet of course, so need to make sure you go to the onsen to wash. Only negative is the sound proofing is very poor so you hear the people in the room next to you and in the hall. Overall great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a more budget-friendly place to stay in Kinosaki. The room is basic but well designed and stylish. The staff are friendly and professional and will happily help you get kitted out with a Yukata and Yumepa so you can visit the different public baths for free. Which is useful as there isn't a shower in the room. However you shouldn't need one considering where you are staying!!
- Dilek (10/5): very good 2 Stars Hotels, it is clean. - This hotel is categorized itself as a 2 star, by two stars standard, I am pleased with this. The room is spotless and spacious. But there is no elevator so you have to prepare to carry your luggage up on the stairs for 2-3 stories.
The Check in Building is at another alley of the road, Once you checked in, you have to walk to another alley for the accommodation.
The room has no bath facility but it is ok since this is onsen city, you won't be bathing at your hotel anyway. There is a toilet and sink to wash face.
The owner is a bit strict, so be polite ;P
This is probably the best price in town. I recommend.
- Dilek (10/5): Good price and good 2 Stars hotels recommend. - This hotel is categorized itself as a 2 star, by two stars standard, I am pleased with this. The room is spotless and spacious. But there is no elevator so you have to prepare to carry your luggage up on the stairs for 2-3 stories.

- chi yan (10/5): modern, clean and new - very modern design, very comfy and clean. perfect location, love the yukata.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Expensive compared to hotel quality and services - Expensive but still be the cheapest hotel in that area. No bathroom in the building so you have to go shower outside at nearby onsen ( please check on the closing time). We were there on rainy day so it's not convenient to walk out under the rain to shower ( although we had umbrella) and come back the room with wet legs and feet. No lift to go up the room, so we have to carry our luggage down from 3rd floor ourselves when check out. Hotel manager is doing nothing and only stay in the main building. No drinking water or anything provided in the room and you have to unfold and prepare futon bed ourselves. ( which we'd never experienced this in other Ryokan). Checkin and checkout in separated building so you have to drag your luggage around which is not convenience if your luggage is heavy and it's on a rainy day! The hotel will ask you to pay 700¥ for the unlimited ticket to access the public Onsen. ( from 3pm to 10 am next day) which we think this should already becincluded in the room price or at least have notice us when booking. Overall the hotel is considered overpriced compare to their quality and services. Hotel is quite far from the train station ( 10-15 mins walk) but is in the middle of walking street (for sightseeing) and near to several public Onsen.
- Angela (2/5): - The man at reception was the rudest individual I have ever met in a hospitality context, I was ripped off, talked to like a piece of garbage, and then suffered the less than average facilities. I booked for myself and 2 children via Expedia, including an extra fee for the 3rd person in the room (a 4-futon room). The reception staff proceeded to tell me that there would be no bed or towel provided for my youngest child as she is under 6, despite the fact that I had paid the extra fee. He was completely unapologetic and downright rude and obnoxious. I had to pay an extra $50 or so and when we got to the room, there was a 3rd futon already in it anyway so I needn't have bothered. Throughout our stay, he continued to be extremely rude and unhelpful and spoke to me in Japanese the way people would only speak to an animal or a misbehaving child. It ruined our time there. If he had been at least decent, we would have put up with staying in a separate, cheaply built annex, having no help with bags up 3 flights of stairs, no one set up our futons at night, no hot water or tea facilities in the room (or the building), no phone in the room and less than average facilities. As it was, the whole experience was awful. Don't stay there.
- Melinda (8/5): Zen & modern combined - We love the decor of the room. Simple, tasteful. It’s clean too.
The only getting used to is sleeping on a futon.
- KLATam (8/5): - Close to all onsens. My room was on 2nd fl. A nice young staff helped us to take all 4 baggage’s on 2nd fl. Much appreciated. In May, I suggest they provide thinner blanket. The one they provided is too thick n made me hot. Thanks for letting us leave the baggage so that we can walk around before taking train.
- Wapin (10/5): Nice & clean room. Good location. - Traditional Room (4 guests) is spacious & clean. Good location. Closed to all onsen. Easy for walk from Kinosaki station to the hotel. The staff are nice and van speak English. No elevetor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy for walk to onsen - Easy for walk to onsen. Closed to Kinosaki station.recommended for stay here
- Kok Hui (2/5): Bad experience with the hotel service - Many things not provided by hotel for the price you pay!!!
- Chutima (8/5): Reasonable price - Good location. Reasonable price for this town but you have to do futon bed by yourself. No drinking water and towel provided in room.
- Lee (8/5): convenience and comfortable - comfortable and relax
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location. not far from station. no shower - Good location. not far from station. no shower in the room. the way to the hotel at night is a bit dark and scary.
- numayyim (6/5): Nice place and good location - The hotel so big and clean but one thing they didn’t have elevator and dry hair to the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderfull
- Cassandra (10/5): Stylish Hotel Annex - Like other reviews stated, this listing is for a hotel annex off the main building. You check in at the main building, and the staff take you to your room in the annex. There's no elevator in the annex as well, if that's of any concern. The room is exactly what's shown in the pictures, very modern and minimalistically designed. Bathroom's right outside your main door. The room comes with a free pass for a set of the most famous hot springs in the area. Your pass lasts you from 3pm on the day of check in till the next morning. Would recommend!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The staff are not nice. There are a lot of additional charges if you want more comfortable such as private baht.
- iain (10/5): Fantastic - This place is amazing. Electronic everything and so beautiful inside. Step outside and it feels like paris
- Ethel (8/5): Affordable, well designed & clean - I was here for the onsen experience, and hence this place was perfect for me. At check-in, they give you a Yukata that fits you, small towel, and onsen pass (which allows you to visit 7 onsens in town) - and basically there isn't any service afterwards. The place is affordably priced, well designed & clean.
- Anshul (8/5): Good location but bad service and amenities - It was a pleasant stay. Kinsui was a bit expensive for just one night but it was in the heart of the city and close to all the onsens. They did not even provide towels for shower.
- Efrain (8/5): Place is great, but management need friendliness. - It's a really beautiful town, this lodge is in a good location central to all the hot springs, onsens, I felt a bit unpleasant with the manager, he seems like he should be working in a back office somewhere not dealing with tourists.Very unfriendly personality, very unflexible too.
I was trying to check out at 10am, but with my wife taking too long to pack and just trying to relax while on vacation, it took us a bit more. They all came to check on our progress, almost like they couldn't understand.
Bring your own towels, or pay 200 yens, it's ok b/c I knew about it.
The place was recommended by a friend, but I would try another one.
- Belinda (8/5): Great value ryokan - We stayed in the annex behind the main ryokan as everything else was booked up. The check in and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a great price for family of four. Onsen baths were so much fun we really enjoyed them. The room is okay, nothing special. For a one night stay we have no complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely hotel, great location, - The hotel is located 10-min walk from the station, near the onsens and really easy to find. The rooms are small but practical and stunning in terms of design (minimalist, wood). Everything was super clean. The toilets are located outside of the room but that's not a major issue as they are private. There's even a 'kitchen' area on each floor with microwave, kettle and a vending machine - which was very convenient. The staff was lovely and helpful; check-in / check-out only took 5mins and they speak good English. I paid for the breakfast (an additional 1,000 yen) and it was totally worth it. I know it's not mentioned under 'room amenities' but because it's a hotel in Japan, I did expect towels, toiletries and toothbrush. The hotel doesn't provide any so bring your own or all these cost extra! Outside of this, I highly recommend it!
- ds (10/5): Beautiful accommodation at a great price. - We spent two nights here and could of easily spent another. Free passes to all Onsen in the town. Highly recommend
- Meudwy (6/5): in a quiet back street - an annexe which is not qu - The best part was the excellent breakfast, different each morning and served (and cooked ?) by a delightfully pleasant smiling you man so gracious and attentive ! Great value at 1000 Yen
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable price, room size is fine - This place is located at a small&quiet lane which is quite peaceful at night..the room size is fine for just a one night stay..it is very valuable for the price though..
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would come again! - Booked here for 2 nights, stayed in the annexe with room only. Good sized room with comfortable tatami sleeping area. Good air conditioning. Recommend stay at least 2 nights in kinosaki onsen, so that you can benefit from the onsen entrance pass between 10am and 3pm (between checkout and checkin) when there are less people in the baths. Its also less of a rush to try all 7 baths and have time for meals! Would stay again in Kinsui if we come to visit again, their dining room looked lovely but we didn't try their food as our room rate didn't include it.
- Rose (8/5): Simple but beautifully renovated - We stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay. It was simple but perfectly clean and recently renovated. The rooms were a lovely Japanese design with a personal toilet outside the room. No showers (but there are 7 onsen in town). I would definitely stay again - excellent value for money considering the other options in town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bitter concierge, nice rooms, close to onsen - The hotel concierge was not friendly. We stayed in the annex behind the hotel and it fit all our needs. The room was spacious and had its own sink and toilet. There wasn't a shower, but it's not needed as the hotel has an onsen and you get a pass to all the local onsen. You have to pay 100 yen for each hotel towel. The hotel was close to the main area of town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and worth for the price - It was a nice stay. The room was super awesome, clean and comfortable. There was yukata prepared for us and the pass given was useful for all of us. Hot water, fridge, and microwave is available. Toilet was also attached to the room. Really convenient for us.
