Ashley (9/5): Solid option for a stay by the beach and center of york maine - The staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived and gave us our parking pass, directions for parking options and to our room. They answered questions and requests easily. The room itself was clean the beds were comfortable and the view was beautiful since you are right across from the beach at this location. The shower had good pressure and heat and as far as I know the hotel was fully booked due to a wedding so that was excellent. Breakfast is not included but there is a restaurant onsite, the restaurant is good but on the expensive side so if you see something on the menu you would enjoy then go for it but if looking to save a bit of money go ahead and take a scenic drive to another local restaurant. It is also extremely convenient to both the beach, which is easily accessible across the street, and the main st of town which is maybe a two minute walk you could get to wild kingdom in like a 5 minute walk which is great. The things I didn't like were fairly minor in the scheme of things but when you are paying almost $600 for two nights those minor things do add up and factor in. The first thing is parking, it was all easily accessible to the hotel however it is tight I almost got stuck in the parking lot because a truck parked too close next to me and the parking lot was narrow to get into and out of, lines would be helpful. So I will suggest backing in if at all possible for you to make that easier. The next is the rooms, in our room someone measured once cut once and had immediate regrets because the hole for the faucet is the wrong size and place so there is a significant gap between the faucet and the counter, there is also almost no space in that bathroom to set out toiletries. The door to the room is a glass sliding door but the curtains to cover the door shouldn't have a wand to pull it, it should be a chain on the opposite side since trying to get into and out of the room with the curtain pull was problematic since the door opens inward so you are fighting the curtains and a hard stick to get out. I also for the restaurant wish they had some reasonably priced small breakfasts for guests as opposed to the pricier fancier options available..
Cheryl (7/5): We had a very nice time and enjoyed the cottage very much. - We stayed at the cottage. It is a very nice space for a group or family. The location was fantastic. There were several problems that need attention. There wasn’t enough hot water for showers, the upstairs toilet had a broken flushing handle, the upstairs shower was very slippery without a rubber mat available.

charlenemR7083SM (8/5): Will be going back. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Union Bluff Hotel and Meeting House. We stayed in the main house, and our room had a view of the ocean, and faced east, so we could see the sun rise over the ocean. The room was clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, and the room rate included a complimentary breakfast, which we hadn't realized at first. We stayed 2 nights, and the first night we ate in the pub, the food was good and servings were generous. On check in, we were given a card worth $10 off the bill (excluding alcohol) if you spent $50 or more. Some of our comments for possible improvement would be: The bed was very high - some petite/short guests might benefit from a step stool. The door has 2 locks, and key holes, but the room key only works on the door knob lock, which does open the door. This caused some confusion at first. Front desk staff may want to clarify with guests. Some of the outlets seemed to by synced to light switch by front door, so it first appeared that outlets weren't working. Signage would probably help. That said, we will be definitely be going back, and may check out rooms in the meeting house.

325PaulaM (10/5): Kindness!! - Kindness personified! We are renting a condo just steps from the hotel when a nor’easter was due. We were worried about sea water flooding our cars and their staff allowed us to park on their hill behind the hotel to be safe! They didn’t need to do this, but they are compassionate people! The pub food is great! We cannot thank you all enough!

Shane (7/5): Good location but there are better accommodations in the area for the price - Location was great. Being able to walk to the touristy section of York was nice. This made it so we didn't have to use our car as many times as we have during previous stays in the area. Dinner pricing was what we expected. Pricing on some of the breakfast items was expensive. Parking during events isn't considerate of hotel guests and guests are not notified that parking could be an issue. Expensive for what is available. No pool.
john (6/5): ok - The view was great and the folks at the front desk were very helpful. The bed and the new linen were great Door to the deck was missing a screen so we could not hope the door and enjoy the sound of the ocean. Pillows on the chairs were dirty and looked 20 years old.

Except…we were told there were no lord rooms to extend our stay another night. Later checked online and there were several 🤷‍♀️

Swarr (10/5): Nice winter getaway spot - Old school hotel with real keys! We visited right after New Year's Day to spend one night. I went birding across the street on Short Sands Beach in the morning. Complementary breakfast foods to pick up yourself. The in-house pub is open at night. Our room was large and clean. It's just what we needed for a mini getaway.

And to top it off we had this lovely young lady at check-in taking me outside to describe where to park, and she served us breakfast this morning taking time to take our picture celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary, and then giving us a complimentary breakfast! Thank you for your kindness.

Our room was extra large and had a wonderful rain shower and all the amenities you could want! Bed was very comfortable and views of water great! Loved waking up early to watch the sun rise! Being able to walk to the shops, beach, and restaurants in the Short Sands area without having to use our car was wonderful. We have stayed at a great place at Long Sands Beach in the past, but Union Bluff is our new favorite!!

The pillows were too thick for my personal comfort, with 4 pillows per bed, it would be nice to have an option of a thinner one in the mix. Overall love staying there and have stayed multiple times.

Natasha (10/5): - We love staying here for a weekend get away with girl friends and kids (age 9-11). Everything is easy, close, and walkable. Beach is across the street. Parking is easy in front or in lot in back. So many food and local shopping options. We take a buggy from short sands to long sands easily to check out the food up there. Arcade, bowling, and mini-golf are on the beach across the street. Hotel Bar is great - can grab to-go drinks and sit out front on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. Safe area. Playground and basketball courts were a big hit for the kids too! Lots of places with live bands near by. Usually the hotel has a wedding going on - so some nights can be loud/noisy with wedding guests. But not unbearable!

William (6/5): - We’ve been staying here every year in the summertime for the past 12 years, for the price it’s probably better options. It is very close to the beach and the shopping, which we love however, when we pulled in this year, we were told there’s a wedding so parking might not be an option right away thankfully the ballet teenager gave us his parking spot because he felt bad for us because we just driven three hours and didn’t have a parking spot. Seems mildly ridiculous that there’s no parking available when you pay for a hotel room front office. Staff never seem to be super welcoming for that price. Also on Sunday night around 130 that was a bunch of drunk people outside our hotel that could take you to party pretty late night not ideal for kids to sleep.
