Guest Reviews
- Janice (6/5): - Hotel is a good place to lay your head down for a couple days if needed. It’s not luxury and smells very musty/damp. Staff isn’t mean, but definitely not welcoming. There is nothing to do in Colon and definitely nothing to do around this hotel, so if you’re backpacking and wanna check out Colon, just skip it and save yourself the money. There’s literally nothing to do. We thought the reviews were a bit exaggerated, but it’s definitely in a rougher area.
- Elmira (6/5): - I like the way the manager change my too. Yo a New and comfortable room . The way they try to accommodate me .
- Omar (6/5): - The Hotel Andros is always my go-to when staying in colon Panama, but each time without failure the front desk staff has some sort of issue / attitude. I typically pre-pay my reservations to reduce wait times and hassles but the front desk staff always comes up with a new “rule” in regards to check-in. I’ve never been offered a food voucher, they are not generous with towels and seem not to realize that customer service goes a long way
- marcos Anthony (10/5): - Todo muy bien
- Dian (8/5): - Always knocking noise
- Omar (10/5): - The staff is always amazing but never give breakfast vouchers
- Daniel (6/5): - This property was a "gem" in an otherwise ran down and dirty neighborhood.
- Brad (8/5): - Good
- Keisha (10/5): - I love this hotel very comfortable clean great staff and location
- MARIO (10/5): - Me gusto
- Benjamin (6/5): Don’t Stay Here! - Nice spot in an otherwise dirty and dangerous neighborhood
- Zoraida (4/5): - The desk service was not good
- Antonia (10/5): - My stay is always great. The evening staff can do better with their attitudes
- Margaret (10/5): - This is a very nice, classic hotel that is nicely appointed, clean, has attentive staff, and is a good value. The neighborhood around it seems to have aged differently than this well-maintained hotel, but their staff and security kept us feeling unquestionably safe. There is a restaurant on the first floor and that is similarly well staffed.
We would gladly stay here again.
- Karthiga (10/5): - Property & staff are excellent. This property location is in ghetto. You can commonly see security & police with shot guns. Even fast food restaurants have armed guard. Don't walk out of this property.
- Yamahina (10/5): - Muy acogedor el personal
- Celestina (10/5): - Very clean, staff very pleasant I love the restaurant/cafeteria in the building they have security
- Dian (10/5): - Area not healthy
- Giovanni (6/5): - Again, NO additional comments

Muy rico el desayuno en la cafeteria
- Fulvia (10/5): - Segura, tranquila, placentera. Gracias muy amables
- marcos Anthony (10/5): - Gracias
- Verol (10/5): - My stay was great also the staff, security, EXCELLENT.
- Anthony (10/5): - Comdo
- Aqua_Uomo (8/5): Decent hotel - Not the greatest area but no trouble either.
There is an armed guard at the Hotel 23-7 also guarding the parking, just across the street.
Staff doesn't speak English but they are ok.
Rooms are clean, new furniture, everything works. AC unit is also working good, very quiet.
There is no breakfast but there are a lot of places a block away in either direction. The hotel is placed right in between the two major shopping streets.
There is a bakery right in front of the hotel, fresh bread and pastries smell very good in the morning.
I was in room 311 for two nights, adjacent room, 310, had a very loud family of 4 last night. All taking loud and with the TV blasting, obviously and moving furniture till about midnight.
The receptions went to them, they finally stopped. Walls are paper thin. Other than that was all good. Some pictures or room 311 attached.
- Isabelle (10/5): - Très bon rapport qualite prix, bonne literie . Etablissement tres propre
- Esteban (8/5): Buen lugar - Muy bueno.
- Carolann (10/5): - Beautifully old building standing within a falling down world of Colon Panama
- Natalia (10/5): - The hotel is lovely and staff great . The area around is not very safe or nice but the hotel is very well mantained and clean. Is like it doesnt belong to the location.
You need a car to move comfortably.
- Yaviritzel (10/5): - .
- Thomas (8/5): - Not ewr much, on the lower end. Colon was filthy, something about the trash collector on strike. They are doing well with the hand they have been dealt.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Don't take credit card, horrible service. At night there's nothing to eat close. Bad location.
- Jo (8/5): - Everything was good, only the staff in the reception should give more information to the guest the check in time. But everything was very nice.
- Cesar (2/5): - People that work in the hotel it’s rude and scream at you
- Rodny19 (8/5): - Excellent hotel in colon.
- Gareth (8/5): Quality rooms in Colon - Quality rooms in a location convenient for railway station, bus station and town centre.
Feels secure, and, as result, slightly claustrophobic. Restaurant has a good choice, but limited hours.
- Matt (6/5): Nice enough hotel in a bombed out hellscape - The hotel is fine. Hot water, AC, cable with premium channels, good wifi, clean. I do agree with other reviewers that breakfast should be included for the price. The restaurant is a buffet style diner that also serves local clientele. Prices seem fair. The main issue is the neighborhood. I did not give much credence to previous reviewers' observations of the neighborhood because, in my experience, tourist tend to be a bit dramatic. No so in this case! The neighborhood literally looks like a war zone. There are 'bombed out' buildings, trash, debris, and feces in the streets, homeless people sleeping outside the hotel, and major drainage problem. Since 2011, I have amassed over 3 years of experience living and traveling in Central America and Colón is the first place that I can honestly say I felt uncomfortable walking in the streets. The government supposedly has a plan to renew the city, so stay tuned. Now, it is not the hotel staff's fault that Colón is in the shape that it is, and if you need to come here, the hotel is nice, but prepare yourself mentally and bring some cab money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel it was more than I expected - Very pleased with the stay at the hotel and its staff and will definitely stay there again
- colin (6/5): clean hotel in a rather awful city - the interior of the hotel is quite striking--new, whitewashed, airy and open, wrought-iron railings overlooking a small multi-storey central atrium (watch your children though so they don't play near/on the railings!)
friendly staff. when i arrived, there were no sheets or pillowcases (!), but the staff quickly corrected this issue. The neighbourhood of the hotel is poor to say the least, but really, the entire city of colon is rather unsafe and dilapidated, and that's being very charitable. The government plans to bulldoze large segments of the city and revitalize buildings, but it is a really rough city and this process will take years. Quite an awful city, and I've been all over the world.
There appeared to be a fenced-in parking lot with guard , and other local vehicles also used this large parking lot overnight (such as the bakery truck, the local delivery trucks). Believe me, in the city of Colon, you sure wouldn't want to park your vehicle on the street at night!
In striking contrast, the nearby town of Portobelo (by nearby, I mean a 1 to 1.5 hour bus ride from the Colon bus station, but faster by car) is absolutely charming, quiet, and friendly with three beautiful spanish forts, a pleasant location on the water, nearby beaches, boats, some plesant restaurants... stay in that town instead!!!
- JOSE F (8/5): JUST ABOUT OK - The room is ok but breakfast should definitely be included. Although we were very close to the shopping area the location is not really safe in the surroundings especially at night.
- 515hafidi (10/5): Best Restaurant for local food - We did not stay at the hotel but stop by the restaurant to eat.
Blown away with all the food and attention, went there with my family and they had all the traditional plates.
This gem of a restaurant and it's food are getting harder to find in Panama.
This place is 100% recommended
- Talibah (4/5): Its the devasted city of Colon which is in ruins. - Considering the location there's almost no other option so you basically have no other choices for the price
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Hotel is good, but the zone around the hotel is not very good, anyway Colon is not a nice place!
