- ernestopedrot (10/5): We always come back - Location is unique with apartments having very nice views to the ocean and La Gomera, clean rooms, staff very friendly. Breakfast is outstanding with great service and very good choice. Very varied dinner choices. Golf and tennis facilities are world class and close by.
- Mathilde (10/5): - Amazing place, views and facilities. We have been upgraded to a 3-room appartment with sea view (a real penthouse!)
Breakfast was really nice and staff super friendly. Also, a shuttle to go to the beach is available and the pools are really great!
- Raimonds (1/5): - The area was clean, green and pleasant. This was the worst experience with a 5 star hotel in my entire travel experience.
- C954ALelainer (10/5): We’ll be back soon, hopefully. - Excellent!!!
The apartment was beautiful with stunning views. All mod cons and serviced daily. Lovely fluffy towels changed regularly and bedding every other day. Located close to two pools, both beautiful with good facilities. Excellent restaurants nearby and shuttle service offered free of charge.
Diego and his colleagues, in reception, lovely and extremely helpful.
I highly recommend Las Terrazas de Abama.
- KarenMG2021 (10/5): Great apartments - Lovely apartments which worked so well with the family. The kids loved the spa in the garden. Great kids clubs and restaurants on site

- 858runarm (10/5): Great golf resort that I recoment highly. - Great size of apartments w. balcon, good overall service and good restorants. The golf course has a fantastic layout but the greens are way too fast considering majority of players are mid to high handicap. The golf cours definitly needs a "Marshal" to keep pace, when the wind picked up my second week of stay increased each round up to 5 -5,5 hours. Abama has a putting green for practice and a driving range available 1 hour before T time but no chipping greens are available. A pracitce area is definitily needed for increasing activity and golf skills while staying at Abama Las Terrazas.

- Isobel (8/5): Excellent facilities and staff, restaurant menus need more variety. - We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which had excellent views. There were always sun loungers with towels available at the three different pools. The pools were heated which made it enjoyable to use them even though the weather wasn’t great. Breakfast was extensive, varied and high quality. The wait staff (David, Michele and Fernando) in Tagara restaurant were extremely welcoming and provided excellent service. We were on half board which included all three restaurants however we were disappointed by the lack of variety on the menus. There was a high level of overlap between the three restaurants and with all three having relatively limited options this was very noticeable during a one week stay. There was no change to the menus each night, i.e. no specials which maybe help with the above mentioned issue.

- linskitours (4/5): 2* Room for 5* prices - Last year I wrote a glowing 5* review for this property. This year all the positive comments I made then still apply to the property and most of the staff. It commands the high prices imposed over the half-term holidays.
But for returning customers staying for two weeks (longer than almost anyone else) the allocation of Room 409 was I felt very unkind. It is a dreadful room. We were told all two person rooms were the same by a lady on reception. But invited into neighbouring 407 nothing could be further from the truth. That room was close to what we had last February. It was what we expected.
Let me tell you why 409 is dire, especially for over €500 per night. The bedroom is dark with no proper window but frosted glass and a concrete exterior frame that is good for security but stark/unattractive. You can only just get round both sides of the bed. We had to move the whole thing 6 times to open the cupboards with folding doors at one side of it - that was how narrow. Last year we had proper windows. It was so depressing. The bathroom was ok but had no window unlike one last year. It was smaller than others on the fire plan on the landing.
The living area was dire too. Why? It had the only proper window - sliding doors to the balcony. But there was a terrace outside that for much of the day has full on sun. Unlike 407 and the other rooms we know, there was no overhang shelter or sunshade we could let down so it was unusable. Worse the room needed the curtains drawn from about 14.00 to sunset because the aircon could not otherwise cool it below around 25/26 c.
We complained. We were told we had the usual two person room as I say above. We knew a better room was free because our daughter and family were unable to fly at very short notice. We offered to pay around €100 per night extra for the week it was free to get out of our “cell”. They said their systems could not accommodate this. We asked to meet the manager and were told that would be arranged. It never happened and by then we had given up with all the stress and determined to make the best of our fate.
On our penultimate day we were able formally to log what this review states with a helpful man who said the elusive manager would be made aware. After nearly two weeks we could see that most guests stayed a maximum of 7 nights and in the case of golfers far fewer. I feel very poorly treated. This was a 2* room for a 5* price tag.
- Stay447750 (10/5): Outstanding - This was a really great experience. It was really nice and the service was amazing! Nothing to complain about! Possibly best hotel I have ever visited!!!!
- Karen (10/5): Great stay - We had three children so having so much space for them was great. We all loved the hot tub having a kids club was also something they enjoyed on one of the days Nothing
- Sabrina (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Great base on great golf course. Tennis and Padel courts nearby. Adjacent 5 star hotel has many facilities. - Clean, well appointed apartment. Good breakfast provided at the golf clubhouse. Convenient for golf, tennis and padel. Good supermarket on site. Good views of golf course, sea and Gomera. Good restaurants on site. Cramped second bedroom. No sun on terrace in winter months.
- Johann (9/5): - Sehr schön in die Gegend integriert. Ruhige Lage und perfekter Strand. Einige Kilometer abseits der nächsten touristischen Orte.

Appartement au top
Très beaux jardins Rien
- Mario (9/5): -
- Nina (6/5): Overpriced and very disappointing - Large and well-decorated apartment with nice pool areas A few basic but essential things in the apartment and complex didn’t work, which took some time (and a lot of follow-up) to fix. Despite this, the property take a 500 euro deposit on arrival which I was told was «written on all booking documents». If it was, I have yet to see it.
The property is very isolated and a car is essential if you want to get anywhere. If not, taxis to the nearest town are 40 euros each way, as well as being very difficult to get. No local taxi apps or delivery services work at this location.
The reception staff seemed stressed and fed up, probably because reception was often packed, with irritated and complaining guests. (Everyone asking for taxis mostly!)
There seemed to be a «hierarchy» of how guests were treated. Another guest and I observed that some guests and families were offered cava and snacks on arrival and check in, while others were basically ignored and treated with indifference. When checking out, I was not asked about my stay.
Some staff barely spoke a word of english. One understands that Spanish needs to be learned when living in Spain. But to work at a 5 Star holiday resort and struggle to understand the guests is ridiculous.
None of this would be so annoying if we had stayed in a less expensive resort. But when they are charging these prices (900 euros per night for room only) then the last thing one expects is this kind of experience and shoddy service. It wasn’t relaxing or particularly enjoyable, it was chaos.
- Gregft1979 (2/5): Not recommended if you want a truly high end, care full experience. - Not recommended if you want a truly high end, carefull experience.
This hotel customer service department has no consideration for their customers. I had booked a few nights, off season, which I had to move - a few weeks in advance, not last minute - and I received a flat no without any proposal to change dates. I'm pretty sure a few weeks off season was way more than acceptable for a change, but apparently they do not give a damn and prefer drawing anger from their customers.
This tells a lot regarding how this hotel cares about their customers. NOT recommended at all.
- muhammad (3/5): The lack of basic management, poor communication, and repeated operational failures made this stay extremely frustrating - Very bad experience. First, they tried to charge me extra, but after I sent my booking confirmation, they realised it was their mistake. I could not get hold of the reception for almost 24 hours, as no one was responding. On one occasion, the receptionist even hung up the call during the conversation.
In addition, my room key card was not working, and it took almost two hours for them to fix the issue, as every new card they issued also failed. Breakfast was very poor.
Based on my experience, I do not believe the 9+ rating on Booking.com reflects the real service quality. Very bad experience.
- Christopher (9/5): Great location, good weather, great appartment! - Location is exceptional, weather was good. We had a 3-bed apartment which was perfect and was much the best of the layouts we have tried. Breakfast was great and very enjoyable on the terrace. Las Jardines is also a great location and a good breakfast. The on site shuttle worked well for us, but maybe were just lucky.
The driving range has been improved and one of the guys staffing it was very friendly and helpful, unfortunately one or two of the others in the golf setup have not been introduced to basic skills in customer service. 1) Sports: There appear to be no inclusive deals/offers for including golf and tennis usage which is a significant negative. On the golf course the pro shop demands handicaps, but the people playing on the course in many cases clearly don't have one. The pro shop was going to refuse access for my colleague, whose handicap has lapsed because he is currently not a member of a club, but both of us play to about handicap 10 and we followed a 4 that lost several balls on one hole.
The tennis administrator at the courts was one of the more miserable people we met and made it apparent that his job was to point out how difficult it was to get a court!
The gym is a bit small and under equipped when the facility is full; this appeared to be a busy week, which is not too surprising.
2) The New Year deals: 430 Euros per person at the Melvin(?!), 280 Euros at the Atlantico(?!). I requested the NY options in late October and nothing was available, so I booked us into a restaurant in the Abama as a backup. I then had my booking unilaterally cancelled within a month of arrival, was not offered any alternative and was told if we were in the Terrazas we weren't allowed into the Abama facility at NY. At Terrazas I was then offered the Melvin at 430 Euros/person (we were 5 people), but no other options despite much correspondence. Then very near the arrival date we discovered the Atlantico offer of 280 Euros, but frankly this seemed ridiculous for a meal and some fireworks. It's apparent that staffing is a real issue, so we can see the problem for the management, but its not that difficult to realise people who come at NY might want a couple of reasonable options.
Otherwise all good!

- Olga Valentine (9/5): - A very relaxing place to stay at -Very loud air conditioning in the room
-Not enough power sockets in the bedroom
-The dishwasher in our apartment wasn’t working
-Queues at the reception desk
- margot99888 (6/5): Could be so much better with a bit of management and transparency - 1 out of 4 pools were heated, but you aren’t told this. You have to go to the pool, and then the staff seem surprised it’s not heated. Absolutely no organisation or transparency. Result was one small pool with all the guests, towels had run out…
Restaurants, only one or two open each night for dinner. But you don’t know which, unless you try to book online. Bars… same thing. Could do so much better with a daily text or something online or on the wall in reception which says what’s available. Much better than walking between buildings to find bar is shut!
Apartments - contrary to other reviews ours was great! 5 bedrooms even when we only booked 4! Fabulous views, aircon not working in one room only…!
Good shuttle service up to supermarket, but would have been great to know it was there before we tried to locate supermarket in the nearby town.
There’s soooooo much that this resort could do better just by communicating but it seems to be run on a skeleton staff who don’t really know much at all.

- Alexandru (10/5): Amazing stay, great value for money - Spacious, air-conditioned apartment. Beautiful terrace with a great sunset view. Great on-site restaurant, bar, pool and pool bar. Beautiful golf course. Extremely quiet. -
- Helen (7/5): Good resort - Beautiful resort, quiet and in a lovely location. Apartments are spacious, tasteful and very clean. Staff are unfriendly, especially at reception. When we initially arrived, we were told we had to wait 30 minutes before we could speak to someone at reception. We waited for 30 minutes and then were told they didn’t know when we could speak to someone and we should go elsewhere until texted. Quite a confusing start to the stay.
EUR 40 for one hour tennis is too expensive, especially when rackets and balls provided were bad quality.
Breakfast - we were repeatedly served eggs that were so undercooked they were inedible.
The suites have self catering facilities but absolutely no means of washing up / cooking (no tea towel, oven glove, any form of soap or sponge, dishwasher tablets).
Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. We couldn’t contact reception, so we walked the ten minute walk to reception from our building only to find the person on duty did not know that the alarm was going off in half the hotel, and didn’t seem to care.
- Shackleford_LB (6/5): Average resort trying very hard to be good or very good - The holiday promised much but did not deliver. We booked through British Airways Holidays bed and breakfast. Reception was indifferent, not very welcoming. Suite 1102 was a very nice 2 bed villa but no water on the first day, jacuzzi not well maintained. One swimming pool out of use (we did know about this in advance). Good bar in the evening, well stocked shop nearby at Los Jardinas. Restaurants try hard but miss the mark. See separate reviews. Car is not essential but nice to have - hotel buggy service works well, especially to the lovely Playa Abama. We don’t play golf or tennis but I gather it is quite the destination for a golfing holiday.

- Darren2020M (6/5): Amazing property, average service - I stayed at this property in October/November for 9 nights with my family.
The hotel and landscape is outstanding. Beautiful, pristine, a golf lovers heaven! The course looked spectacular. Best I have ever seen!
The room was very nice and cleaned well daily.
I found the service very mixed indeed and it was this that let the hotel down.
Good - Alex and his team at Atlantico restaurant were warm, hospitable, accommodating and very friendly, particularly with my son. Excellent!
Good - Three nice pool areas looking over the course, beautiful and nice to have choice.
Bad - The lady who runs Mervin is very rude and not accommodating at all. We stayed half board but still had a bill for extras for €134! Most of the menu has a supplement, there is limited choice without a supplement. After paying our bill, when I get to reception upstairs I said I didn’t mind paying but given we didn’t have 3 deserts surely there should be a deduction against the supplement cost. I echoed I didn’t mind paying and said I’d leave it with someone to consider and we needed to get my 4 year old son to bed as it was past his bedtime. Despite this, and asking for a buggy to our room up the hill, the receptionist insisted on going head and calling the manageress up. She came upstairs despite again saying we didn’t want to discuss that evening as it was late and we needed to get our son to bed and virtually shouted ‘you have to pay for the meat!’. The situation was handled diabolically be all members of staff. I don’t mind paying for extras. I really do mind bad and rude service like this. We walked away and walked up the hill, no buggy. Poor, poor, poor!!!
Bad - When entering the reception to go to Tagara restaurant we asked the reception how to get to the hotel as it was clearly signed. Her reply ‘the stairs are there or if you are lazy you can take the lift’. I found this comment offensive and downright rude and uncalled for. Additionally, had the restaurant been clearly sign posted we wouldn’t have needed to ask.
Bad - There is a language and communication barrier throughout the hotel. Staff often don’t communicate clearly between themselves or with guests. We had to wait a few times to order at breakfast. When we left the hotel 3 staff were chatting in reception rather than helping us with our luggage to the taxi.
Overall, despite the above, we have a very pleasant holiday. The hotel could heighten the experience by sharpening up some of these service issues with some training and standard implementation. It has the potential to be superb but is sorely let down through service that does not cut it for a five star hotel…..
- Jill (8/5): Excellent accommodation - Perfect apartment. Quiet, very spacious, extremely comfortable, cleverly designed and furnished. All very high quality. Lots of terrace space and nice views. No choice of bed covers so either too hot or too cold (unless you use the aircon).
Shower took a long time to heat up and leaked (but not an issue just a bit annoying).
We asked if we could check out 30 minutes late and they refused. You can use the gym and pool and then get showered after you check out but obviously not worth it for half an hour.
The place was packed at the weekend and the breakfast room was overrun.
At least 2 of the pools were closed and the main one was very busy with families.
The area is not particularly nice but the golf course looked very good though it is exceptionally expensive and seemingly very busy.

- Beverley (9/5): Absolutely lovely - Beautifully clean, gorgeous views, amazing staff, lovely food. Breakfast is fab. It was half term so it might be sensible to have some adult only areas and place people who aren’t travelling with children in different blocks.
- KathF180 (8/5): Great Golf, Comfortable Apartment — Limited Facilities and Dining Options - Check-in was rather chaotic due to a large group arriving before us and only two staff on duty. Some reception staff seemed a bit offhand. The apartment itself was very comfortable, and the golf course was excellent. However, the facilities at the Terrazas site were limited. From Tuesday to Friday, the only open restaurant was the clubhouse, and the pool bar was closed on some days. This meant dining options were minimal unless you drove into town or to the nearby hotel. Only one swimming pool was open on site, making it crowded, and while another was available a short drive away, it wasn’t convenient.
- tomfP9281FD (10/5): Another Fantastic Stay at Las Terrazas de Abama Suites - We visited Las Terrazas de Abama Suites in October 2025 as a family of five, and once again it was a fantastic experience. This was our second visit, and the resort continues to impress in every way.
It’s the perfect balance between luxury and comfort, we loved having access to all the resort’s restaurants while also having our own fully equipped kitchen for those more relaxed family meals. The kids’ camp is amazing, offering a great variety of activities and plenty of outdoor time, which really appeals to us.
The shuttle service around the resort is brilliant, we never waited more than 10 minutes, and it made getting to the beach super easy.
We also loved the new addition of the bar off the reception area - it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a drink and take in the incredible views. Giovanni is a true cocktail master! His creations are outstanding, and the service is top-class as always.
We can’t recommend Las Terrazas de Abama Suites highly enough for families looking for a relaxing yet luxurious getaway. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
- 779antonink (2/5): Unpleasant reception staff - Unfriendly staff at the reception. They gave us the worst suite in the whole resort and when we wanted another one they told us we had to wait until the next day for the hotel manager. The next day they told us they would give us another one the next day. After two days they gave us an even worse one near the construction site where you could hear jackhammers and there was construction dust in the air.
Breakfasts were sometimes only with white bread and there was minimal choice.
- Sarah (10/5): Great for a family get away- wish we could have stayed longer - Great location, so much to do! Pool was awesome and staff was amazing.

- 779antonink (4/5): Never again - The apartments are in a nice location, but part of the complex is located near construction, where there is noise and dust. We were given an apartment in the worst location, opposite the reception, where there was increased noise from cars and hotel staff. When we asked for another apartment, they offered us another one after two nights, but it was the closest to the construction. Immediately after seeing the room, we went to the reception, saying that they would give us another one. They said that they would have to wait until the next day for the manager.
The reception staff was unpleasant.
The hotel taxi will take you to the beach, which is less than 2 km from the hotel, for free. However, the beach is overcrowded, full of smokers and on weekends young people who make noise and mess. Be careful, umbrellas and sunbeds are not included in the price and cost 50,- EUR per day!!!!
- Karina (3/5): Not nice attitude towards guests - Size of the apartment. Shuttle to the beach The facility is only about making money and not caring for the guests. Also it has nothing in common with 5 stars.
Noisy construction works on both sides of the apartment. Leaking showers that haven’t been repairs over 2 years (we stayed here also 2 years ago). Broken light, broken tv set in the room.
Pool bar closing 1h before the pool does. At all the pool closing quite early.
Some of personnel was rude or just ignorant and that was the most disappointing about our stay. Later check out was not possible (understandable), even though the facility was not fully booked at all. But as we were 5-10 minutes late to check out two men came to kick us (family with a little baby) out!

- O9531QQmarkl (8/5): Home from home but not at home. - Nice quiet location with hotel perks.
I've been here a few times before, so know how it works.
Lovely apartments. Well equipped.
Had one issue this year the big pool in front of us had to be closed for safety reasons.
Unexpected emergency. These things do happen.
Grounds are immaculate, and the golf course is great.
Reception staff are excellent now.
Had issues with them in previous stays.
You definitely need a car to explore the area. There are so many new places to eat and drink nearby
Las terraza used to be connected to Abama ritz carlton, but that's getting less.
Personally, I think that's a good thing.
That's got tatty. The beach is a jok, broken umbrella, and awful seats.
Also, they charge 50 eurs to sit on beds and have a broken umbrella.....
