- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Johann (8/5): - Gute saubere sicherer Pension mit ganz freundlichem Personal, Einkaufen Essen Friseur bisserl Nachtleben alles in der Nähe
- Johann (10/5): - All perfekt for the Money , friendly Staff , very good Calamasi Juice
- CHRISTOPHER (8/5): - Great stay for the price
- ELLORA (10/5): - The staff are always kind, friendly and willing to help. The grounds are well kept and maintains a peaceful atmosphere despite being located in the city. The location is also very convenient being within walking distance of the US embassy and a short taxi ride from the bureau of immigration.
- Brendan (10/5): - Great ethos. Long established. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed here previously 21 years ago. Would highly recommend.
- Villia M (10/5): Little pension, big welcome - This little pension always affords us a warm welcome.
- Geoffrey (6/5): Friendly but not so comfortable - Check-in closes at 22:00 so I was worried if my flight was delayed, I would miss check-in.
Also, when I first approached the property, there was no way to enter, the gates were locked, there was no pushbutton so I felt stuck. I managed to catch the eye of the gardner who let me in. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they quickly changed my room because I wanted to be on a higher floor..
When I tried to take shower, there was no hot water. A member of staff quickly came, scratched his head a bit, eventually finding the power hadn't been turned on - it is the second light switch in the bathroom. Who'd have thought it would be a light switch?!
Also, the aircon unit is old and not up to the job, this combined with a plastic covered mattess made for a sweaty night. I was once woken up by the guard dog, but to be fair, he's not a very barky dog.
Prices in the restaurant are very reasonable, American breakfast for £2.50. Choices for dinner are very limited, omalette or sandwich is about it. You must try the calamansi juice - just gorgeous!
It was a bit noisy with jeepneys accelerating past, they have the loudest exhausts in the world (with the possible exception of Cape Canaveral!), but that is hardly the hotel's fault.
- gerlie (10/5): - Basic accommodation that is clean, cheap and accommodating staffs.
- Lowell K (10/5): Using pension natividad for 30 years - If you want a family atmosphere this is a great place. This is like our home away from home
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Timothy (10/5): - Ive been going here for years. Love the staff
- Ma. Melanie (10/5): - what I like about the property is that it is near Landbank which is a walking distance. Also the familiarity with the property because it is where I have been staying everytime I have seminars at Landbank.
- Antoine (10/5): - Best one in Manila.Amazing rate quality and prices. Simple but nice
- Basil (10/5): nice place - everything was great! quiet place, despite the fact that manila is very loud and busy
- Christof (8/5): - Old and simple , but ok . Clean and helpfull staff !
- Florian (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Schoon + lekker ontbijt
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Its tranquillity, greenery and gentle breeze in a very hectic, polluted district. The simple yet spacious rooms and communal areas are another attraction. I stayed here happily in 1995 and little has changed, save the new high rise that now surround it. A final positive aspect - for me at least - is that fellow guests are not here for sleaze.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Erwin (4/5): - It was a good stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - no problem
- Jocelyn (8/5): @ Pension Natividad 2019 - I usually stay at Pension Natividad for convenience, the place is just walking distance to my work related trip. I can stay in a cheaper place but what I always prefer staying here for the availability of a room for one/two person/s. No problem with cleanliness.
- Maria Victoria (8/5): - The stay was good thou I was out of the place the whole day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pension bien située avec petit jardin agréable.
Gardiens à l'entrée.
- Marieke (6/5): Eenvoudig - Eenvoudig . Vriendelijk personeel
- NAOKI (8/5): - Good location and affordable price
- Nuno (6/5): A mix of hostel and pension - Let's start by the good aspects: the hotel manager was very friendly and tried to help you the best he could. They have a small à la carte food service, acceptable prices and with good quality. The worst part has to do with my experience: on the first night, I was sent to a room that should not be rented to anyone! It was close to an air venting unit and I could hardly sleep during the night, due to the constant noise. After complaining, they moved me to another room. I just don't understand why was I sent to that first room, if there were so many other rooms available. The manager was well aware of this problem and instantly gave me a few options. The second night was a lot better, the bed was comfortable and the fan was efficient. The local area does not feels safe at dark.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good accomodation - It has a good location and clean and comfortable room. The rate is reasonable also.
- Donald (6/5): - The hotel offers security and cleanliness. This time I stayed in an air con room and feel that the more economical rooms are better. There was no cleaning of my room. The bed sheet was old and didn't stay on the bed, so I spent most of my two nights sleeping on an ancient vinyl covered foam mattress. And, they don't automatically give soap along with the towells (100P deposit). Finally, I never received my requested 6AM wake up call.
- Caroline (8/5): - Thanks we loved out stay there!
- Ronald (10/5): A very nice economical option. - I have stayed at Pension Natividad several times coming and going out of Manila. It is superclean and very safe especially with the free lockers in the lobby. The location is great being one block away from the Manila Bay boardwalk, and a 5 minute walk from Robinsons and the UBE bus to the airport. It would be better to have wifi in the rooms but they would have to charge more. I'll go again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): good pension - The room was cozy and clean. Located near Robinson mall and Manila Bay. Very convenient location it was. The staffs were friendly and kind. Good pension for it's rate.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - recommendation : wifi should be available at any floor level
- TUGIO (2/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): good place - excellent location, walking distance to the park and the old city, close to the airport too, by taxi. safe and clean. near Mabini st. where you cna change money and eat.
- dermot (10/5): A friend recommended Natividad, i recommend it too - Between hotels and bed and breakfast places, i have stayed in a wide variety. I would stay here again over any other option. Perfect service, and a place to feel fully at home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely place to stay. Staff were great and breakfast was yummy. It was very hot without air con though!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just saying... - No free amenities like free towels, breakfast, television, and WIFI in the room. Everything is being charged.
- Princess (8/5): Comfortable place to stay in - We were given a room big enough for our huge bags and a place to put our gowns.
- Yuko (8/5): Comfortable to stay at winter season - I could very comfortably stay at the room with flesh air from outside. The location was also very good, though the street in front of the hotel is not very safe. I recommend the hotel to be used from December to February, or winter season in the Philippines, because some rooms don't have air conditioner in it. Quality of bathroom was just so-so.
- Steve (10/5): - Excellent! I will always stay there when in Manila!
- Kitty Ernst (8/5): Nostalgic hotel serenely-tucked in storied Manila. - Have been dining in this lovely hotel when it still had it's famous pizza... Continued dropping by for snacks of calamansi juice + sandwich or their fab yoghurt. Finally found time and an occasion to stay over.
We stayed in the regular airconditioned room...It was very basic but clean, homey and charming. Perfect for those who appreciate nostalgia or period-themed accommodations. Good for resting/sleeping all day since the room lacks the blare of a tv (no room telephone either).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I stayed 3 nights in a private room with a bathroom outside. The room was comfortable for the price.
Unfortunately, there is no wifi access in the rooms and the wifi connectivity in the lobby was poor.
Wifi service should be improved.
- Franz (10/5): A place to Relax - I know this old Pension since the 80tys and they maintenance it well and clean. It is located good in Malate and also the food at there resto is delicious and affordable. I will get back on my next visit in Manila for sure. A new plus, it has now a new Bus Service from Airport to Robinson Mall which is near by for 150p., so no more fights with cheatrer Taxis in Manila.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic staff and very clean rooms

- ricky (8/5): Short stay - Good central location, friendly staff, spacious pension to chill out and relax, food available 24 hours, room clean, private bathroom outside of room.
Only downside for me was the noise, traffic, drilling etc. I read reports before hand that it was peaceful!
Water was mainly cold.
Ok for the price though, would stay again.
- Maurice (8/5): OLD WORLD ATMOSPHERE - This was my third stay at Pension Natividad, so that tells you something right there. The pension has somewhat religious overtones but not blatant. What I like about it is there is an old-world colonial atmosphere about it. The room prices are moderate and if on a strict budget there are the dorm rooms. The dining room serves a limited menu of good meals at low prices, and a cup of tea is only 30p. (Free hot water is available if you bring your own tea bags) The staff are pleasant and helpful. There is excellent 24/7 security at the street gate and Robinsons Mall is only a five minute walk away. The next time I return to Manila I will be heading back to the Pension Natividad.
- ann (8/5): accessible to the business venue - friendly staff, decent and quiet place to stay, affordable rates
- Verified traveler (10/5): An oasis of quietness within the chaos of Manila - I have appreciated this old-fashioned pension since decades, and surprisingly it maintains its charm still at present among the increasing sprouting of high rise buildings around.
- Vienna (10/5): an enjoyable 24 hours - This was a really great place to stay, we loved the spacious room and the hot showers :) the courtyard was beautiful and the atmosphere was pleasant. If one wishes too they can easily interact with the other guests. The food in the restaurant although not included with the room was very good and not too pricey. we really enjoyed the fact that they would call a taxi for us when we needed it. The hotel also allowed us to check in early and store our luggage which we really appreciated! As two single women we felt very safe and secure at this place and would definitely recommend it to others! just a note, if you are picky when it comes to mattresses than you might not like the beds but for us it was perfectly fine, there also is no elevator so if you have a hard time with stairs be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor
- Julio (8/5): Very nice, classy and quiet budget hotel. - I enjoyed this classy Art Déco hotel very much. The facilities are vintage (I loved the hard wood floor and the cast iron balconies) but very well maintained. It's very quiet, despite being so close to restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The ambience is very relaxing. The room was good, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is nice and the food is good. I originally planned to stay here for one night and then move to a cheaper hotel, but after the first night I decided to stay and enjoy.
- Ron (8/5): A convenient hotel close to the Manila Baywalk. - The hotel is old but extremely clean. During the last year I have been there eight times when I was entering or leaving The Philippines. It is a block away from the Manila Baywalk and a five minute walk from a Robinsons Mall, where recently a new bus service to the airport has been started. While the rooms do not have wifi, the hotel has a comfortable lobby, a restaurant, and a nicely shaded patio with tables all of which are freely available to use wifi. The staff is very helpful and there is 24 hour security. There are also lockers available (bring your own lock) in the lobby. My only complaint is that they require a deposit for a towel and then only give a small bar of soap if you specifically request it. But I would not hesitate to recommend it or return for another stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): it's a good value - simple basic, good value for the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value. - Best for your money in the area.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dont stay here - was taken back to find the room had no AC didnt see that in the listing as an option. The hotel said if I wanted a towel I had to leave a deposit. The listing said it had laundry room available, it doesn't if you want your clothes machine washed you pay per piece, if you want to hand wash in a concrete sink its still per piece. the wifi it lists is only available by the front desk which also has no AC. The hotel does not provide soap, or shampoo. The room had zero power outlets, we had to charge our devices down the hall in the detached bathroom. The entire place was dirty, dusty, and poorly maintained. I requested the fan to be cleaned, as it had years of dust caked on the entire device, all they cleaned was the blade needless to say my sinuses, and throat were killing me by day two of our stay, and I had to start sleeping with a handkerchief over my face to filter out some of the dust blowing around. Since we had no AC we had to keep the windows open which exposed to excessive noise, smoke from cigarettes as the guests smoked just outside the front entrance which is where our second story window was, we were so thankful we didnt bring our newborn with us!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): WI fi needs help. But comfortable lobby - Just there by myself. Enjoyed the lobby. Would be nice for tv in room
- Robert (8/5): Nice friendly staff. Close to the mall. - Very nice staff and overall a decent place to stay. Close to the mall and a bank with a atm. Also close to SLEC and the U.S Embassy.
- Jim (2/5): rooms without aircon and shower via hallway - 100 peso deposit for towels, no wifi in rooms, no aircon in budget rooms and in common areas. Hot showers. Clean rooms, check in was confusing.
- backpacker (4/5): Hotel in terrible location - Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is located in a terrible area. Hotel itself is ok, rooms are very basic and spacious, but the area around the hotel is filthy. There is plenty of massive cockroaches running around at night so you need to watch where you're going. There is no air condition in the room just a fan which is not even directed onto bed, so you won't get any sleep at night. I also forgot to mention that is very noisy outside which don't help. I would never stay there again.
- norman raymond (2/5): No never stay again is not listed as only for back - Awful i am a regular to manila so i have lots if friends here but they could not come to my room only in the lobby how old hat is that
- David (10/5): Best of Its Class - The pension is located on a quieter street within its own compound controlled by a security guard 24 hours. Originally a stately single family home built in the mid 1900's, the common lounges and terrace still evoke a time when life was gracious and un-hurried. Although there is no room service, guests can order meals and drinks anytime for consumption in the dining area. Staff is ever present to ensure that your stay is comfortable. They are also a good source of information regarding local sights, public transportation and available services for tourists.
The private guest rooms are spacious with high ceilings and most importantly, they are spotless. WiFi, filtered drinking water and daily newspapers are available in the common lounges and terrace. Secure lockers located by the check-in counter can be rented to store those important documents (provide your own locks).
- may (6/5): Quiet area - Ok ish hotel very quiet... hard to find for public services food was ok
- Ron (8/5): Very nice budget hotel. - The hotel is very clean with rather large rooms. There is 24 hour security provided by a guard who closely monitors who enters the hotel. In the lobby there are lockers (bring your own lock)for your valuables. The drawbacks are the lack of WiFi and televisions in the rooms and the somewhat strange practice of requiring a 100 peso deposit in order to obtain a towel. Overall the hotel is a very nice budget option in an excellent location close to the Manila Bay boardwalk and a Robinson's mall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budgetwise - Good for the budget
- Aurea (8/5): Good for the budget - Great
- fx02 (6/5): Good for a couple of nights in Manila - Me and my girlfriend picked the hotel for our arrival in Manila at the start of a month-long trip through the Philippines. It was a decent hub.
- Verified traveler (6/5): fair - One night stay not good no tv I pay deposit for towel. Free wifi only in the lobby. Friendly staff.
- Bienvenido (8/5): It's okay x - Natividad Pension House is having good rates
- Leslie (10/5): Old World Charm in Manila - Absolutely wonderful people and setting. Walk to many things. Great food prepared there by lovely people. Yes its old so if you are looking for Las Vegas style rooms this is not the place but if you want that charm and old world feeling this is the place. It is simple but comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice for Price - The beds are bad very hard...well for a westerner but my Philippine wife said they were fine so it is all about what you are use to I guess. The hotel staff was nice and the guard is a nice thing to have for getting a cab and adding a feeling of safety to the hotel. The hotel is old but has a charm to it. Not a bad hotel for the money, I have paid a lot more for a lot less in the USA so I say the hotel is overall good place to stay. If you are looking for 5 star hotel then pay 5 star hotel pricing. If you want a nice hotel with friendly staff that is very well priced then this hotel should meet your needs fine.
