Guest Reviews
- Tony (8/5): -
- Williams (7/5): - No food in the evening
- John Sneller (6/5): A satisfactory hotel, which needs room refurbishment. - Good breakfast, large room, setting, friendly staff. Room 301 was jaded, the bathroom radiator did not work, the bedside light was a mystery, and the approach was covered in tree debris. There was no dinner service, which we should have been informed beforehand.
- flipnic (8/5): - Easy check in, beautiful location and food was great in restaurant. Matress on bed was very soft.
- Stevie (10/5): -
- Dennis (9/5): -
- Adam (4/5): Not good for the money - . Nice bar and staff was nice, didn't help when we complained about the toilet and washing machine. The toilet never stopped running all night kept us up all night. At 4 am the washing machine was turn on and that was super loud. The room was 150 a night and we was expecting more for the money
- Struan (3/5): Disappointing, poor and not up top scratch. - Location to my work site. Stayed here before, so booked a Shed Double again, however this visit not good. Told on arrival that restaurant was closed, so no meals. Not advised of this at time of booking. The ad states that there is seating in rooms. There isn't, at least not in mine. Froom floor not hoovered, shower plug blocked, caked with hair. Wifi is non-existent, can connect but download is so poor I couldn't send emails. Certainly not soundproof! Can hear everything from the next door shower to conversations. No wardrobe or closet, no ironing facility in room. Not even a teaspoon with the tea and coffee facility. No replenishing of tea and coffee facility either. Breakfast from 7.30am only, after I had let for work. Breakfast options for people travelling on business could be earlier. All in all, this time round, very disappointing. Will no look for other accommodation in future.
- Sharpe (9/5): - The staff very good to help Breakfast no chef so not that good n
- Rukshan (10/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Claire (10/5): - It was a lovely setting …relaxed vibe and well maintained , rooms were clean and very comfortable
- judith (9/5): Overall room excellent clean bedding - Good location and Lounge bar Shower needed adjustment to change from overhead square devise to lower shower head . Plus the exit water outlet needed clean
- Carl (8/5): - Quiet location friendly staff
Good room
Easy and plenty of parking
Free pool table
Great weather to sit outside Nothing really
Didn’t have breakfast was a little pricy
- Christie (5/5): Not the best stay - The location was good How light the room was without curtains, the shower was dirty and in need of resealing around the edges, the walls seem paper thin so every noise can be heard from neighbouring rooms, the gravel outside was so loud when anyone walked by or a car drove over it, you are not accessible for this reason as my husbands mobility scooter didn't ride over them well. All in all the cost of over £75 a night was NOT good value for money
- Sammy2018 (9/5): - We stayed in the shed, was clean, comfortable, had been well thought out and had necessary facilities. Heating was brilliant and was lovely and warm despite not having the heating on
- Claire Rowett (9/5): -
- Helen (8/5): - Accommodation adequate for our needs, clean. Food and staff lovely. Good location.
- Sue (4/5): No atmosphere - Bar not stocked. No wine or draft beer
- Nicholas (8/5): A great stay with fantastic service. - Location was great, spacious and quiet
- Rosalyn (8/5): -
- Tracey (1/5): It wasn’t till next day i was msg a key code . Too late! - I had a long day at work, I could not find the property. The gps led me to a row of houses. I contacted the number. They said someone would contact me .Nobody called. I made my way to reception. It was a very busy restaurant. Nobody came .
As a female I felt so unsafe. Still no-one contacted me . I cancelled my work the next day and drove back home , 2 hours journey. At least i was safe in my car
- wendy (10/5): fabulous - we stayed in a room for disabled wich wasnt big but good enough for us with a wet room wich was brilliant we had tea at the place it was fab it was a nice treat for my hubbys birthday food was delish and service was fab eveything
- Karl (7/5): A great place for a stop over. - Pet friendly accommodation at a good price. A little dated and sparsely furnished.
- Karl (7/5): As a cheap stop over this ticks all the boxes. Restaurant and bar on site, but I would recommend the Swan for real pub - Price. Clean and lovely staff. Room was a bit small and dated. Shower took and age to get to temperature and couldn’t then turn off. Had to switch off at the fuse box.
- Elaine (8/5): -
- K (5/5): -
- adam (8/5): Great, clean snd comfy - Very warm clean and comfortable The walls are very thin and can hear every noise from neighbouring room
- Eyers (8/5): Stay at Fincham Farmhouse - The friendly welcome from the lady at reception 👍🏻 Bar staff a little clueless I'm afraid
- Damerell (10/5): -
- Andrew (4/5): - Clean functional minimalist accommodation Thin walls and noisy neighbors
- Neil (5/5): Main Building very nice, Bedrooms very disappointing. - The reception, bar and breakfast area are all very nice.
The staff were welcoming, polite and efficient.
The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The bedrooms were small, no wardrobes, no hangers. The shower works, but is an old electric power shower.
The main reason for ‘passable’ is the walls are incredibly thin. You can hear ‘everything’ from neighbouring rooms.
So, as good as the main building is, the bedrooms are polar opposite.
No reflection on the staff who were all polite.
- Clare (6/5): Could have been better. - Staff were very pleasant throughout our stay.
Main restaurant and bar area were lovely, they had a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Evening meal food was of a good standard. Communication was very poor before our stay. I needed to contact the hotel to clarify some details. This was difficult as it was hard to get through on the phone.Once I did I was asked to email, which I did but no reply. I didn’t get the problem sorted until the morning of our visit. ( I had been trying for over a week)
Room - it was a cold day and our room was like a fridge because the radiator was turned off. It would have been nice if someone had turned it on before our arrival. The toilet had clearly been missed whilst cleaning as it was heavily soiled. However the rest of the room was spotless.
We had an outdoor room and it would benefit to having a doormat. Unfortunately there was no way to stop trampling in muddy, wet feet.
No phone or information in the room. No clothes storage, apart from a coat stand.
Menu for a Saturday evening was very disappointing. It was extremely limited and more of a lunchtime menu. There was mostly burgers, pies and fish and chips on offer. No chicken, steak etc. no side orders , such as a salad. However the food served was of a very good standard and enjoyed.
Breakfast - all self service, which is fine but the hot food had been sitting there for a while which affected the taste and enjoyment of it.
We felt that with a few tweaks this would be a lovely place for a short stay.
- Matt (8/5): -
- Mihindukulasuriya (9/5): -
- Stacey (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Mainly an enjoyable stay near to where we needed to be. - Food was very good. Staff were very friendly. It was very handy for RAF Marham. Beds could have been more comfortable.
Couldn’t get tv in second bedroom to work properly it kept buffering, may have been down to the weather.
- Henry (6/5): -
- Holly (8/5): - Rooms are nice and clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. More facilities on site could be good but you know what you're getting when you book
- stephen (8/5): -
- Amy (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): Good food and restaurant staff were very good . - Food in the restaurant , and staff were very good The room , very dated had a damp smell , cobwebs all over cornice above bed and around the room , shower sealant was mouldy . Lots of spiders hanging from the ceiling.
The bed was clean and comfortable
- Paul (6/5): -
- Ian (5/5): Ok but unlikely to return. - Dinner good. Bedroom comfortable. Bathroom needs refurb. Pricing structure unclear. No free breakfast if booked through 3rd party. Breakfast advised @£10 each, charged £14 each. 10% service charge lumped on all food and drink.
- Mark (7/5): - Breakfast too expensive£10.00 for tea and toast.
Restaurant meal too expensive, it was the highest we paid over a ten day holiday, and it was just fish n chips.
Shower is a death trap, needs a shower mat.
The tiny notice on shower door no use when actually entering the shower.
Issue one at check in or place one with towels.
Bedside light not working.
Could not operate TV, no welcome information.
States there are two restaurants in advertising, a bit of a laugh. One kitchen, two dining spaces. And not operating fully due to a wedding. Not informed of this upon arrival.
Will NOT recommend this establishment.
- Christine (9/5): - Very nice and quiet Nothing to mention
- Abby (3/5): Shocking, I want my refund! - Expensive Items in room was damaged. Had to report it to reception cleanliness was shocking. out of the two nights I had paid for and they refused to give a refund booking.com. It’s just a shameful as they have refused to answer any of my queries for the last week in regards to a refund payed 270 for that disgusted
- Karen (9/5): As a lone traveler very good staff friendly food good - Lovely full English breakfast and eggs royale all the food was very god
- Margaret (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Beyond expectations we didn't want to leave. - A marvellous stay. We enjoyed every minute from the beautiful room to the delious food. A bigger rug in the room as little dog found it hard to walk on the shiny floor.
- Adam (10/5): - John really made our stay, what a great guy. He made us feel really welcome, his passion for his venue really shown through.
Amazing meal- I mean amazing !!!
- Karen (8/5): - Great location ...lovely bar /bistro attached ..very elegant and love that its dog friendly too ...only negative was booking.com did not make it clear breakfast wasn't included and I did try to book direct via phone but sadly got no reply ...
My advice , book direct . Great base ..I stayed to attend a friends birthday in a neighbouring village but loved that was only half an hours drive next morning to the beach .. Choice of pillows would've been great but still good value for money and slept ok .
- John (8/5): -
- Carleia (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay in a lovely area and lovely staff too who were quick to help.
- Mihindukulasuriya (8/5): -
- Pete (8/5): -
- Vanessa (9/5): Excellent, would definitely stay again. Brilliant service, food and facilities - The room was lovely. Everything we needed was supplied and it was cosy . The food was delicious, even when they were catering for a large Christmas event we didn’t have to wait long.
- Katie (8/5): Lovely location, comfortable warms rooms. Some challenges with customer service but overall recommend. - Lovely quiet location, like the easy access to rooms and being able to park right outside our room. Very nice cafe and central areas in the main buildings.
Great shower, clean room and comfortable bed, good value for money overall. Recommendation would be for some rugs/mats in the rooms as walking right in to a hard floor when it is cold/winter weather means mud comes in to the room and also cold and not very comfortable to walk around the room.
We had some challenges with checking in as we were told this needed to be before 6pm and then when we arrived to collect the key (1pm on Boxing Day) we couldn’t find any staff at reception and no answer on the phone. Finally found a cleaner who went to find someone to assist.
Also we left couple of items in our room a blanket and pillow after checking out, and called several times to ask about whether these were found, we were told no update and we would be emailed. We had no email and went in 3 days later luckily were still local, and spoke to reception, again told the items hadn’t been found. We asked therefore for compensation for the items, and then quickly someone came to reception with the items and said something about a mixup with new housekeeping staff.
We felt that our request hadn’t been prioritised as it shouldn’t have taken us to have to call several times and then come in person to get the items back, we should have been notified straight away the first time we called after checking out, that our items had been found, so this was disappointing customer service.
- Ken (8/5): -
- Amy (8/5): Overall, good value - Lovely location, nice rooms. Clean bathroom, hot shower, shampoo and body wash provided, lovely clean towels. Room slightly cobwebby, a dust around the walls and ceilings would do it. Bed too small, was small double, not double. Room very warm, and radiator thermostat was broken.
- Richard (1/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Excellent place to stay if visiting this area. - Nice quiet location with excellent private car parking.
Usually there are meal and bar options.
Very nice facilities in the new and old Barns and bar area. No evening meal or bar but it was Boxing Day.
Could hear noises from next room.
- Sarah (8/5): Fab spot but it’s time for a room refurb - Location for stay The rooms could do with some love and modernisation
New beds furniture soft furnishings a fridge a general room ascetics overhaul
- Michael (8/5): Great, will definitely stay again. - Great location, convenient for my needs. Great price and excellent staff. Meals were great and room was clean, comfortable and warm. Nothing..All good.
- Butler (3/5): -
- Barrow (10/5): -
- Mihindukulasuriya (10/5): -
- Louise (7/5): -
- Elaine (8/5): A lovely relaxing overnight stay to be able to share the good food, fun disco and the evening with my work colleagues. - Lovely room, with great facilities, super comfy bed, warm room, decent shower and beautiful towels.
Good food at the party event in a delightful venue, and god music. Needs some thought about pathways around the site; if staying in a room then going to an event, you have to walk across a courtyard/car park etc but there is a lot of mud and unavoidable puddles. Paths don’t lead logically and paving slabs have sunk. A door may inside the room would be helpful.
Starter at the festive party was poor, over processed but the main and pud were delicious.
- Amy (9/5): - We've stayed here three times now each Christmas when we come to visit family because we know we're going to get great staff and customer service, a clean and comfortable room which is excellent value for money.
- Tony (10/5): We come to visit family living nearby; have been before and will be back again. - clean, comfortable room with basic but adequate furnishings; friendly staff. Mattress a little soft.
- Hannah (4/5): Beautiful building and surroundings but the room and customer service let you down guys - Beautiful building and surroundings. New barn is fantastic. Communication is terrible. I had a query on our room and it took 4 attempts (an email on here which was never replied to and 3 phone calls) to get an answer. We were not sure what we were going to turn up to. Staff were so vague and were not able to answer basic questions about our booking.
Room very run down, dusty, mat filthy dirty, things hanging out of the loft hatch, decor marked and dirty, toilet seat doesn’t fit.
Breakfast ok but the bacon was so hard you could have spread butter with it.
- Kevin (10/5): - I liked how accepting and adaptable they were welcoming different parties of guests at the farm. Very professional. Experience pleasant The illumination issues to finding reception maybe?? Speak to a iDIY specialist maybe.
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Nicola.forrest (9/5): -
- Donald (10/5): -
- Chantelle (10/5): Absolutely beautiful, highly recommend this venue - Stunning wedding venue, food excellent, staff fantastic, room very clean, comfortable & warm. Breakfast was excellent too, honestly the whole experience was perfect! Nothing…
- David (8/5): -
- Page (9/5): Lovely Stay once again - Our 4th stay at the Farmhouse, Fincham. It's a lovely quite place. Accommodation has always been comfortable, lovely and warm when we arrived. Food very good including a large choice for breakfast. Really like the way it's been re-vamped with the Piggery and Hayloft. Staff very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend overall. Really nothing not to like.
- Shonna (8/5): - Staff were friendly and check in easy.
We ate at the farmhouse as it was out of town, and setting and food were lovely. Totally recommend the fish & chips.
The rooms were booked were as the photos.
Room was nice and warm We had 2 rooms booked, and one of the rooms had quite a few cobwebs and needed a bit of tlc.
No bitter or Guinness avaliable on tap as they were changing stock (they could have some cans in)
Cider was reduced to 2.50 a pint, yet I was charged £5 for 2 half's.
- Pamela (7/5): Perfect for 1 night stay as local to a birthday party nearby. Staff were very helpful and friendly. - Lovely setting down a country lane set off the busy road. Very peaceful and quiet. Excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Side table for kettle and tea and coffee and cups. Placed where there is no plug sockets. Had to boil kettle on floor next to mirror other side of room. Phone charging port next to bed had really annoying blue light on all night. Need door mat to wipe feet when entering.
- Soraya (9/5): We arrived at 10pm and received a very warm welcome by Nathan. - Very close to Marham base which we need to visit for family reasons. Room a tad cold, (quilt and bed was lovely & warm) T.V didn’t work but we didn’t mention it as we didn’t really need it.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Katie (8/5): Definitely be back! - Very nice setting, decent sized room for the money - clean, tidy and welcoming. Had an issue with my eggs at breakfast that was not only sorted swiftly and without complaint but the cost was removed from the bill. Great dinner on Saturday and a lovely time chilling in the bar beforehand It was vey hot in the room and we couldn’t turn the radiator off. Opened the window it was fine but did get uncomfortable at one point. A small thing really
- Clive (8/5): The restaurant and staff were excellent but the accommodation was a little disappointing. - Location Due to the position of our apartment, the outlook was glum. Plus you could hear conversation and sounds by other apartment occupants.
- jason (10/5): Perfect - Cannot fault staff they were exceptional
- Lynne (9/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Alexis (10/5): -
- S (8/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Good quiet location with plenty of parking. - Quiet location. Bar and nice supper available, even on a Sunday. Plenty of safe, private parking
Lots of ground floor accommodation. Very nice, helpful staff. We could have done with a bit more furniture, a couple of chairs and something to put our case on.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Hurd (9/5): A lovely place I would recommend to my friends. - The grounds and location were great. The restaurant and food/drink were wonderful. The staff were friendly and responsive. Everything we had was delicious, including breakfast. The room accomodations were too rustic for my tastes, but I slept well, which is the most important thing. If I were to return to the area, I would check to see if they had more modern rooms first.
- Owen (9/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): Recommended - Minimalist, but everything you needed for a comfortable night's stay - very clean, good supportive bed, excellent shower, big fuffy white towels, TV with great selection of channels and bedside light with built-in mobile charging. Quiet location with friendly and helpful staff. 😊
- Geoffrey (8/5): Brief but good as rural - No breakfast but location on a country road very good Only stayed one night so no complaints I
- Mark (10/5): A nice relaxing stay. - Lovely location. Nice clean room.
- mike (8/5): Fab location for adventuring around the area. - Location Smell of dog in room
- Leonardo (7/5): -
