• Rhonda (10/5): Nice hotel! - Room was cozy. Small “issue” was the heater didn’t heat all the way to the top, but wasn’t a huge problem for us. Staff was super friendly and good was great!

• fran (6/5): - Difficuly parking had to drive around 3 times to find a space. Front of the hotel closed off for work being done had to come in a side door snd through the restaurant. Very dated hotel i sat on a leather sofa on the reception area and it was sticky to touch. Rooms were very dated. Black stuff in the bath, looked like someone had tried clean it bit not well enough . Hairdryer from the 1960's felt like it was going to blow. Had to call a dentist as we had an emergency, called the number on the hotel information book in the room. The dentist had retired 4 years ago. I woke him up.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid at all costs! - When we arrived the receptionist ask to pay before receiving keys. The room looks nothing like the one depicted in the advertising on the website or on the pictures on Hotels.com, total fraud. The room faced the rear of a restaurant where the garbage bins are and where the employees smoke and talk loudly all night. The beds had old and caved mattresses. The shower was not working. We got instructions to open the tap water in order to get some pump working and wait till water got to the shower. Then water was cold. Food looked bad and one of us got a long Curley hair in the fried eggs. We left breakfast (paid for) to another place. Painful experience all around.

• Kim-Trang (4/5): - Our first room we were assigned smelled poorly so we requested a refund and was offered a different room. the next room was fine but the pillows were unsupportive and the bathroom sink had trouble draining.

The room was hot and when the window was opened there was no screen and it opened into a road with trash bins. The beds and linens were clean and in good condition. The parking is limited. We did not try the onsite dinner or bar.

• Bruce (10/5): Lovely hotel near center of village - Nice hotel just near the High Street. nice bar. We had a very large room with a large, comfortable bed. Couldn’t figure out how to start the Jacuzzi, which was a downside, and the absence if a real shower was somewhat odd these days. I do recommend the hotel as clean and orderly.

• Teresa (8/5): - This hotel is convenient to the train station and the main street with the restaurants and pubs. It is a nice hotel, a little tired. But perfect for our one night stay. The pubs and restaurants were nice and easy to get to.

• Mark (10/5): Comfortable stay with friendly staff - Extremely helpful reception staff when it came to assisting with parking and providing information about the hotel - even organised someone to assist with luggage. Breakfast was very good.
• Rajkumar (2/5): - Room are very tiny, painted but smells horrible like in a chemical factory. I don’t expect a great interior but it’s just old retired interior and they are due an upgrade. For the price they are charging £100 per night at minimum, better invest some money in your property. Stairs are horrible, why there is no lift. Anybody old age don’t book this hotel and if it’s the only option then ask for ground floor rooms. Staff looks least interested, parking is a pain and most likely you may have to park in the paid car park (payable from 830am for max 3 hours). All in all, try to book one of bnbs at lake side which are hit away from the main center

• Catriona (8/5): Clean and comfortable - The hallways up to the bedrooms look quite tired but I got a pleasant surprise when I entered my bedroom and found it to be large, clean and nice looking. I had a really comfortable sleep the 2 nights I was there without any noise disturbance (I find it hard to sleep if there's much noise). Breakfast was good.
• Van (8/5): - Cute older hotel with water views. My room had a jetted tub great for relaxing. Great little bar and very good food at the restaurant. Very diverse menu, something for everyone. Perfect location close to everything.

• Christopher (6/5): - The Staff were friendly, accomodating and very helpful. The location and ease of parking was great. The overall state of the facility, especially the rooms, furniture and fixtures were disappointing. It is in desperate need of a refresh/renovation. Cost for the accommodation was fair given the location and availability however we did expect a nicer facility. The breakfast was adequate.
• Shirley (2/5): - This hotel was terrible. The receptionist was sittinv in a dirty pinkbpuffa coat, no eyr contact, not friendly. No lift, no offer of help with luggage so had to drag my case upstairs. On entering the room the first thing i saw was the filthy windows and could just make out the metal fire escape taking up the whole view. The room was very small, dated and felt cold and dirty. There was no way id spend a night thete. Another guest kindly took my case back down for me as i need to hold the rail with both hands to ho down. When i went to reception she just shrugged and said well youre not gettingvyour money back but i could mot stay thete it was do bad
• Morag (2/5): Noisy, dated and dirty - We couldn’t see the loch from our room due to the condensation on the windows. The window frames were thick with dirt and mould. There was also mould in the bathroom where water from the shower collected on a shelf above the bath. This was charged as a “superior room” - would hate to see the state of the other rooms. Furniture dated and battered. Heavy traffic noise kept me awake most of the night.
• Victoria (10/5): Nice. - Staff were fantastic and very helpful so no complaints on that front. Food in the restaurant was nice and not too pricey. The only downside was the cost of the room but it seemed on about the same price as other places in the area.
• Maria Fernanda (8/5): - Property is very outdated, no lifts which makes a little complicated for older people. Every room has carpets. I would say it’s fair for a night stay, they offer breakfast but the building itself is old.
• Danielle (2/5): - Moldy bathroom. Pretty sure there was black mold in there. I became ill after staying there. Employees were lazy and borderline rude at the check-in desk.
• Chris (6/5): - Hotel staff were friendly and the welcoming. It is an old Victorian hotel so the rooms are large but very tired and need a face lift. The plumbing is original and also needs an upgrade but the toilet was very clean and the shower lovely and hot. The best part of the room was the bed. Extremely comfortable and we slept well. As it is right in the heart of Fort William there were a few people going home from the pubs around 12.30 but apart from that it was quiet. We only paid for room only so can not comment on the breakfast. For a competitive one night stop over it was fair value at £139 compared to the Premium In who wanted £223 room only.

• Lisa (4/5): - We had two rooms. One bathroom had mold in the shower and the floor was not vacuumed. The single beds were very small and uncomfortable. The floor in the other bathroom had leaking tiles. The positive note is that it is in a great location along the water and one street away from the fun pedestrian shopping street.

• Elspeth (6/5): - The room was clean and the staff were very pleasant. However, the hairdrier didn't work for very long whether by design or because it was faulty I don't know. The plug chain for the bath was jammed in the drain hole so I had to pull the chain and accidentally broke it before I could have a bath. Water flow was poor and it took ages to fill the bath.

• shelie (2/5): - The room was very shabby! The bathroom was inoperable save for the toilet. The water didn’t work in the shower/tub and was barely working in sink. The water that did come out of the tap in the sink was luke warm at best. Don’t stay there! The best thing was the pub across the way which has nothing to do with said property.
• Madeline (6/5): - Room definitely not in as good shape as the photos suggest. Was entirely unable to get any hot water in the shower. Location right next to a decently noisy road. Also every restaurant in town was unable for walk-up dinning and required getting on a waiting list or waiting in person for a table.

• Karlee (6/5): - Everything was average for the most part aside from two things…the location was AMAZING! However, the bed in the room was horrendous. It hurt to sleep on. I wish I didn’t have to complain about it but after two nights of not being able to sleep and waking up in pain, I just feel it is right to give others fair warning.

The whole room smelled like an old greasy range hood, there’s no ventilation and heating in the bathroom, the shower took forever to heat up and the bed was simply too small and uncomfortable. The price was just not justifiable for the room.

• Russell (10/5): - Very good location, used as a stop over whilst travelling, easy check in, room was warm, tidy and comfortable. We ate in the bar area where there was a good choice from the menu & specials board, for us the hotel met our needs with very helpful friendly staff.
• Mark (6/5): Would not recommend, better off at Premier Inn - The staff were really nice, but we clearly slept on a urinated matress cover, disgusting and the carpets were not hoovered. Heard nothing from management since Sat when we left. Plus, our room 15 had the beautiful view of a building in front of it. Adding to the fact my partner proposed to me in St Andrews Church.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Very poor service and poor dealing with complaint - We arrived and had to wait for nearly 10 miniutes for the receptionist to arrive. There was a member off staff in the lobby but not crossed trained. We told tbem that i had just had a oppertion. We were tomd that there was no lift and told " if you cannot manage you can ask for help" any good recetptionist would offer help. The room was good but step in bath shower very slippery. They moved us to a different room which was good. Breakfast very basic. One no coffee, i had the last crossant and only one type of tea bag. The second day 2 types of tea bag. I asked for crossants and told there were none., half a cup off coffee as a person had just filled up a flask with itt and told the member off staf, whome did not check it. Rooms very nosy with both traffic noise and .druncks. The second morning we put out the please clean sign on the room door and was not cleaned. We coplained through hotels .com and no detail questions asked and coplaint was not held. So both hotel ( probably not mamagment) and hotels. Com not investigated the complaint properly.

• Sai Kit (8/5): Old Fashion Hotel - Location and price are good. The hotel looks old but the room is renovated and clean. There is a heater in the room that make the room room enough. However, the bath room was very cold. Luckily, the water is hot. The Scottish breakfast is delicious and a small cereal / drink / fruit bar is included. The staff and decoration look professional.

• ANELA (4/5): - We stayed here for one night as we were exploring the Highlands. The bathroom was so, so cold it made it almost impossible to even brush our teeth in there. The room was very basic and nothing to write home about.

• PAUL V (8/5): - A nice hotel in a great location. We felt the price was high but all hotels in the West Highlands are expensive. The shower had very little power maybe as we were on the top floor? Breakfast was very good.
• ilan (8/5): - The room was clean, pretty big and having a fan was a big plus! The issue was that the area always has traffic on some level on the street below, it sits right on the road. There were also a considerate loud(possibly drunk) people as well. No elevator which was a big issue for us after a very long walk earlier so every step with the laggege was noticed. The shower had a weird prerequesit where you had to open the sink faucet to hot if you want pressure / hot water in the shower...

• Marie (6/5): Nice hotel, shame about reception staff, - The hotel was very nice, clean and very good situated,, breakfast was very nice, near bars, restaurants, etc, only thing I could fault was the reception staff on arrival, very rude and miserable, end of day they shouldn’t be in the job if they don’t like it 🙃

• Verified traveler (8/5): Met expectations - This hotel met our expectations. The room my wife and I had was rather small but our kids’ room was large. The facilities could use updating but overall it was adequate. The location was very convenient.

Friendly and very efficient staff - problem with shower in room, reported to reception and they immediately gave another room to use without question, even though was due to check out that morning. Would stay there again.

• Lyn (2/5): - My shower didn’t work. I got moved rooms and looked out in to a brick wall opposite a kitchen which was noisy. Friend had a suitcase but no lift so had to drag it up the stairs. No offer of help. Kept having to get locked out of room and go up and downstairs to get it reset. Furniture basic and worn. Breakfast was ok - on menu it said chef special and when we asked what it was it was just a potato scone. The same the next day. Would not stay here again.

• John (10/5): Oban Fantastic - Great reception staff greeting, very welcoming with a refreshing drink on arrival. Great location easy walk into main part of town and far enough away to avoid crowds
• IAIN (6/5): Disappointing hotel visit - As a three star I expected better. The room itself was comfortable and clean with a refurbished bathroom although the contractors need telling off. The staircase up 36 steps over three landings was in a poor unkept and dirty state. Although there were signs outside saying food available all day we found it difficult to know what was going on with no signs of life in the pizza restaurant or the bar at 5pm. Breakfast was a disaster. Plenty of staff immaculately dressed wandering around doing little whilst we had to fetch our own coffee toast etc. pastries on display were hard as board and inedible Coffee was very poor quality. I had poached eggs which were tiny over cooked and arrived on a plate no toast no muffins etc I’ve never seen anything like it. My wife ordered scrambled eggs the same happened they arrived on a bare plate completely over cooked and dry with no sense of seasoning. Still the staff floated around imagining they were at the Ritz. This place could be good but it was hugely disappointing. When the bar did open there were two customers three in the pizza restaurant and none in the main restaurant. Considering how bad breakfast was I think eating out of the hotel was a good move.
• Jessica (2/5): - I booked a room for night, because the Expedia add said it had a washer and dryer. When we arrived we were told that wasn’t true. We got to our room and the smell of mold and cleaner to cover the smell were so overwhelming I could stay, the smell was all through the hallways too. I went to the counter to tell her I couldn’t stay and asked for a refund. She told me she couldn’t give me one, even though we were not in the room long and weren’t staying. She refused tontefund our 130.00 pounds. We found another better, cleaner, lodging down the road with a washer and dryer for 114.00 pounds. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
• Kin Ming (6/5): Old Hotel but still acceptable - Hotel is near high street and thus convenient for dinning. There are only few of carpark outside. Hotel condition is a bit old. Will have a bit smell when you go in room. No lift. Staff will knock your door for cleaning although you post no disturbance. All facilities inside room were function.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Overpriced for what this hotel offers. - The staff could have been friendlier. The room was a good size with a really good size bathroom too. Unfortunately the torn curtains in the bathroom and bedroom gave it a very shabby look. The curtains could easily be replaced and elevate the look of the room.
• Bodhini (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable. Truly appreciated the staff's willingness to lock up our luggage after we checked out until we departed in the evening. Only downside was not having an elevator and having to climb to the 4th floor. Staff were available to carry luggage up.
