Guest Reviews
- LeeAnn (4/5): - The room that we stayed in was so dirty, I am not sure when the last time it was vacuumed or dusted. There were also drunk people outside the building yelling at us. But the front desk people were friendly and pleasant to deal with.
- Julia (10/5): - Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was courteous and helpful, and handsome!
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant stay - Friendly staff, clean room, easy free parking.
Great Indian restaurant on site
- Dianne (6/5): - Clean but strange vi.
- Maarten (4/5): - Took almost an hour to check in
- mark (8/5): - the place is nice but no stairs
- Ronald (4/5): - Room was not ready when we got there two hours after check in time. The overwhelming smell of curry throughout the entire place. Rooms were clean.
- James (6/5): - It’s an older hotel with few amenities. It is adequate for a short stay and about what should be expected for a relatively low price.
- Ojoswi (10/5): - Sagar, the manager, and his team are doing a phenomenal work.
The property is centrally located, very close to everything you need, groceries, etc.
The small kitchenette is stocked sufficiently.
The view is phenomenal. Mountains all around.
The town, safe, quite and picturesque!
The hotel comes with a restaurant. Buffet is a steal of a deal. The Indian food served is authentic, fresh and so good. Do not miss out on the butter-chicken.
On the down side, the fixtures and furnitures are a bit dated.
But for the price, a steal of a deal!
Must visit the town and plan a stay
- Maria Victoria (8/5): - Stayed here for one night after a long day of travel, and it was a good place to rest. The room was comfortable enough and served its purpose for a short stay. However, the toilet seat definitely needs improvement, as it wasn’t the right size for the toilet, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it’s a decent option for a quick stopover, but small details like this could make the experience better.
- Bernard (6/5): - Chambre propre télévision semble être payante une table et une seule chaise
Lumière limitée ( 2 lampes de chevet la lumière vers la cuisine ne fonctionnait pas )
- M (6/5): - The location of this little hotel is very good. Lillooet is not a big place, but it’s a nice little town to stop for a night and break up your journey.
I know I can’t and won’t compare this hotel to the big chains, but the only thing I would expect is a clean room.
Unfortunately, I found a lot of hair on the bed. The mattress was rock hard— a slab of concrete has more flexibility. The locks on the front door to the lobby look and operate in a sketchy manner, at best. When we stepped into the room, we were greeted by a mixed odor of sweat and wet dog. The bathroom had a strange layer of filth that we couldn’t even describe. The fridge smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Every time we turned on the AC unit, it emitted a damp, earthy smell, indicating mold.
This was my first and last time staying here, and I hope the hotel will address these issues. I do hope to see people succeed in their business.
- Bekashni (6/5): - Friendly staff, clean hotel. Good price. Some items were off, like no dish soap in dish detergent bottle. I had to fill water in it to use for our stay. Dish scrubbie was filthy. I used my own. There was no wifi info in the room or for the duration of our stay. TV didn't work. I brought these things to their attention. I was okay with using the watery dishsoap and my own scrubbie. Just wanted them to be aware of it. Also, we were told there is a 15% discount for the restaurant attached to the hotel if we ate there. Then we were only given the discount for 2 out of 4 people in our family. Which was very disappointing. Plus we had to wait a long time for the buffet food because some items weren't refreshed. They told us they would take care of us because we waited so long but in the end the bill was not discounted as told and we even tipped them. We understood they were understaffed and we were patient but overall, this was our vacation and it really didn't seem like it after staying here.
- Shirley (10/5): - Staff went out of their way to honour our reservation even though they were double booked. Some items in the kitchen didn't work. Otherwise all was great.
- Michelle (8/5): - Staffwas very friendly. Building is older but clean. BONUS we got a discount at the Curry House restaurant. We had planned to eat there before we arrived, and were delighted to find is in the hotel.
- Megan (2/5): Terrible, dirty, and unsafe. - No lock on the inside of the hotel room door, dirty, management was very unhelpful and argumentative on the phone and in person. Staff did not feel safe staying here for business and we rebooked at the Canada's Best Value Inn. Management has ignored my calls and not called back, we have been unable to receive a refund, and they are withholding a $200.00 damage deposit. Do not stay here.
- Paul (6/5): - Check in was a 4 pm rooms whetecteady at 6 pm.... not a big deal but if ypu have check in and out times stick to them....time is money!.
The lobby was kind of dumpy looking needs a refresher.....
Rooms were clean, small pillows ....tv needs more channels.
No security lock on room doors!
All in all stay was ok... probably hard pressed to find better in Lilloote though.
- Heinrich (8/5): - Very helpful snd friendly staff
- Michael (4/5): - The room was quite dirty, beard trimmings in the sink, under the toilet seat there were feces stuck there. We got in bed only to find there was only the sheet on the bed. Had to get up, find a small blanket in the closet.
Our host was very accommodating and nice but the building was old so he didn't have much to work with. I wanted to talk to him but never saw anyone at the front desk after that.
- David (6/5): - Restaurant was not open.
- Naeun (8/5): - Great location. A little bit old but Clean room. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room though.
- Brian (10/5): - The staff are super friendly nothing is too much trouble for the guests. Its a 25 min walk to a fantastic little brewery. Its a great stop and the drive to whistler will blow your mind.
- Graham (4/5): - It’s a place to sleep. Hallway and room had unpleasant smells, very outdated, door to room was very insecure with no lock other then the door knob. Toilet paper was a giant roll of cheap industrial stuff that I would compare to a newspaper. Room had coffee maker and coffee, then when I poured a cup of coffee in the provided paper cup, the cup literally disintegrated and leaked coffee everywhere. So after buying our own toilet paper, air fresheners and going out for coffee in the morning it was tolerable for our 3 night stay.
- Brenda (2/5): Screwed out of a room - Booked a room with hotel.com and at 10pm the night before staying at the hotel. The manager of the hotel called to say that the web sites over booked them and they did not have a room for me. I called them later to find out they had a room but they would charge me alot more for the same room. Dont stay there.
- Dharam s (6/5): - The staff will not be at the front desk.
- Darryl (6/5): - It's just a hotel. Nothing more, nothing less.
- Alexandre (10/5): - Older hotel but clean, friendly staff and unbeatable price.
- Naqsheeba (2/5): - I do not typically write reviews; however, I felt it was necessary to share my experience at Lillooet Hotel Victoria. While the staff were polite and welcoming, the overall stay was quite disappointing.
The room was not properly cleaned and lacked several basic amenities. There were no paper towels, tissues, dish soap, sponge, or frying pan available items that are typically expected in a self-contained unit. The coffee machine was not functional, and there was no lighting above the sink, which made it difficult to use the area effectively.
Room service was not provided unless specifically requested, and even then, it took multiple follow-ups to receive any assistance. Upon checking out on June 15th, after a two-night stay, the owner, Ashish acknowledged my concerns and assured me that he would address the matter and consider an adjustment to the cost of my stay. Regrettably, I am yet to receive any follow-up or resolution.
This lack of accountability and follow-through reflects poorly on the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction and suggests that profit is prioritized over providing a comfortable and quality experience.
- Carolyn (8/5): - The customer service was excellent but the hotel and pub are undergoing major Reno's and doesn't look very appealing at the moment. The room and linens seem clean. The photos for the room I chose showed a small fridge and microwave. No fridge or microwave was in the room.
- Hani (10/5): - Recently rennovated, safe, clean, good value for money
- Roberto (6/5): - Quaint
- Jane (8/5): - Being renovated. The power point next to the microwave was not there just a hole
- Cameron (2/5): - 2nd grossed hotel I've ever stayed in. There's a stop work order posted, the restaurant is closed, I think the owners are doing renovations themselves and everything looks super cheap. Bed barely had any sheets, I didn't want to use the shower. I don't think I got bed bugs but I didn't let any of my bags touch the floor. It's a shame the hotel could be a lot nicer if it had a decent renovation. The staff seemed fine. I'd rather drive to Whistler or Kamloops next time.
- David (2/5): - Not as advertised. No phone in room. No ability to contact staff. Not woprth the price. A 1 star hotel. It needs a LOT of work to bring it up to a 2 or 3 star place. Should not yet be open.
- Ming Oi (8/5): - It’s affordable and in a super convenient spot. The staff were absolute legends, always smiling and ready to lend a hand, lent me their own hair dryer when I needed one—top-notch service!
That said, a few things could use a bit of a spruce-up. The bedroom lighting felt a bit dim, as it relied solely on a table lamp – it’d be way better if there have brighter lighting options at night. The corridor and lobby needs some air-con or better ventilation would be ace. Also, our 4-person room only had two chairs, and there was no kitchen like in the pics. Adding a couple more chairs and those extras would make it heaps more comfy for groups.
All in all, a beaut stay, and we’d probably come back if they tweak those bits. Cheers for the good times!
- Catherine (4/5): - Room that was booked as not available. Booked kitchenette and room did not even have a fridge. Carpet dirty and stained. On fitted sheet and thin blanket on bed. Window filthy. Stop work order on front window of hotel. Door locked at 5pm. Had to call a number on door to be let in. Flimsy lock on front door and really sketchy people in back alley of hotel. Door safely bolt to lock room from inside missing. Paper thin walls. Hot in room with very poor ventilation. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
- Panu (10/5): - Recently renovated / updated. Everything was clean, and the staff was friendly. Same goes for the adjacent pub, which is run by the same people.
- Lucy (2/5): - Staff members did not really know what they were doing.
- Sandi (10/5): - Great place to stay for a night or two!
- James (4/5): - Okay so the best stuff first. The place has been newly painted. The room was recently rennovated. Like smells of fresh paint even…
It was a horrifying check in experience though. In fairness we didn’t arrive until 10:30.
There was no one there. Door bell did not bring anyone there. When we dialed the phone number wee were forwarded to a cell phone and they promised to send someone down to let us in.
15 minutes later a car arrived with 2 people. The clerk looked like he had just come from a party.
He didn’t know how to properly bill us. The charge card machine wasn’t charged. They asked for a damage deposit- which is odd when you use a credit card to pay. The authorization was submitted in a very strange way. Still don’t know if I will have to fight to get it canceled.
We were left a key to room and a key to front door. And the clerk left when transaction was done.
The front door lock was a master botch job. I have never seen a poorer piece of locksmithery. I don’t know how it even kept out other people and was surprised that the key even unlocked the door.
Check in experience was 45 minutes long start to end.
But the bed was new, the place was clean the sheets were clean and the bedding was new. The room was very plain. And the sleep was good.
It appears the hotel has been taken by new management so maybe these bugs will iron themselves out.
- Joelle (10/5): - Parking was accessible, staff were friendly, room was clean and maintained, air conditioning worked great. Best deal in town!
- Nicola (6/5): - Cheap but clean.
- Maureen (6/5): Work in progress. - We had a good stay beds were comfortable, room was clean. This hotel has a new owner and it getting a big do over. They graciously accomadated us even though the renos weren't done. It should be lovely when finished. Check ahead.
