Guest Reviews
- Volker (10/5): - - sehr netter Gastgeber
- saubere Zimmer
- gutes Essen
- Parkplatz in der Nähe
- Altstadt gut zu Fuß zu erreichen
- H7928DXkimr (10/5): The real Marrakech - We spent 3 nights at Riad Mounir and enjoyed every second. Located inside the Medina walls, makes it a perfect place for exploring both the Medina and to walk into the “new” part of Marrakech.
The staff were fantastic and very friendly, always had time for a good chat and will do all they can to make your stay memorable.
- JFOGameiro (10/5): An amazing experience - Hello,
I was at Riad Mounir at the end of the year and despite the cultural shock we experienced upon arriving at the entrance to the medina, Mr. Abdul welcomed us and welcomed us as if we were in our own home. I have irritable bowel syndrome and food was something that gave me some anxiety, but Mr. Abdul was always tireless and concerned about my situation. The location of the Riad is incredible, as it only makes sense to experience the reality of the Medina! The people are fantastic! I advise you to live this experience.
- gomelina (10/5): Excellent Hospitality - I could not be more grateful with Abdel, it was a very nice experience to stay in Mounir. Their hospitality is amazing. We book for only 2 nights but we ended extending for a week and left because it was booked out. Abdel helped us to find very nice tours, booked for us and found us very affordable prices. I liked the location since was calmer than the centre, you can walk for around 20 minutes through nice alleys and get to the most touristic spots in the city. The room was okay and breakfast was good. I got sick one day and the helped me to find some medicines and prepare some soup in the Riad. I appreciate all the help was provided in our trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Trip in Marrakech - The Riad Mounir is very nice and the room was very big! I'd say the only thing is the fact that it's like 30mins walk from the Medina but the neighborhood is very poor and beside a slum. It's kinda hard to find and sometimes google map doesn't help. Honestly my stay there was good and I would go back because they did a good welcoming
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam.
- 206linneae (10/5): Central hotel with great staff - Stayed 4 nights at this very nice hotel. First of all I would just like to say that the service was absolutely fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful which is quite needed if it is your first time in Marrakech. They spoke several languages, including french and english. Other than that the rooms were big and clean, breakfast was good and so was the couscous they served in the evening. The hotel is placed on a quite street but is still very central. If I go back to Marrakech I would with no doubt stay here again. At first we had booked an AirBnB which was just awful so I am very glad that Hotel Riad Mounir could welcome us and make our stay pleasent.
- jamesbW5265NJ (2/5): Just avoid! - This was ment to be a weekend away for me and my fiancée for her 21st she has nearly been brought to tears! So I will start. Have been here for a few hours now went to see the reception about an evening meal which is included in our package to be told we had to make a reservation in the morning how when we are not here? Whilst we where down at reception we seen the photo copy’s of both our passports in plan view on the table. Went out for a brisk walk (literally around a house) nearly got mugged twice. The rooms are very small with not much to offer there’s is a bed, toilet, shower and a couple of lamps and that’s your lot which would be fine in any other location around the world where you could easily go for walks and do activities to keep you busy but feel scared to leave the room exactly disappointed in Hayes travel whom this was booked though! Will never be booking though them again waste of our time and money!! So that sums our first 4 hours in Marrakesh
- Verified traveler (8/5): it's a nice place - we had a confortable stay
- MissRichella (6/5): Nice riad - The size of the room was ok. The only thing that i missed was a window. The breakfast is good. You will have to get used that breakfast is served 20 minutes after you are sitting down at the table. The owners are very helpfull. You can ask them everything.
You can hear everything in the building because of the architecture of the building. Some earplugs are welcome if you sleep light.
- Eeyore32 (8/5): Very nice little hidden gem in Medina - We had prepaid for the riad to pick us up from the airport which was nice. We arrived late in the evening to this dark alley way and we were thinking where did we got ourselves into. This was our first time in Marrakech and tobe honest we did not really know what riad is. However when the drive took us to the door it looked like any local house door but when we got inside we were so pleasantly surprised that all of our doubts went out of the windows. The riad was lovely little place with around 10 rooms. The owner of the business waited up for us and let us choose from two rooms. We chose the slightly larger one in first floor in the corner. The room are quite basic with their own bathrooms. We had a good night sleep. The owner of the riad was extremely nice and helped us to find our way around marrakech and what to pay for taxes. The riad is popular among dutch people and we met few of them on brekafast and became friends. The atmosphere in the riad is very friendly and everyone seemed so nice. We enjoyed Moroccoan breakfast in the riad as well. We enjoyed our stay.
- ec2011g (8/5): a quiet friendly shelter in the middle of the chaos of Marrakech - we had previously been travelling around the south of Morroco for 10 days, even spent another 2 days in other Riad in Marrakech and this one was by far one of the best in terms of quality and price. spacious rooms with comfy beds, clean bathrooms, showers with hot water and decent pressure, even air conditioning/heating. included breakfast is really good and complete, the staff in the hotel are also charming and always willing to help you if you have doubts or problems. fully recommended!
- Robert (6/5): - We just stayed for one night. It was a last minute booking. Decent place for the night.
- Amadou (8/5): peace and authenticity - Nice place in a very calm neighborhood. I recommend.
- anjaliosetsinha (6/5): Average, ok for a pit stop in Marrakech - It was ok for a night but not particularly special. The interior patio and breakfast room were ok although slightly dark. There was a big terrace upstairs with a nice view of the Atlas Mountains.
The room was not very nice. Some typical Moroccan decoration would have made a big change.
The bathroom was tiny and there was a weird cloth cover decorated with teddy bears on the toilet seat which I removed immediately.
- Laura (8/5): Nice one night stand! - It was a good one night stand ! We were welcome at the entrance of the medina to not be lost ( not easy to find if you are a tourist at the middle of the night) but the riad was very nice, good quality/price! We only stayed to leave the morning after to catch our plane but the breakfast was very good, the room clean, the wifi a little bit slow, we couldn't watch a movie at our room but it worked for facebook, instgram and stuff. Still the owner was very nice to us ! :)
- 187davidep (10/5): The staff was soo nice! - We stayed here one night. Very nice Riad in the Medina.
The best thing was the staff. We asked for advice and they were very straightforward telling us all the scams we should avoid, and the best places to go to. We really enjoyed our stay!
The only negative note were two birds that must have gotten in, and started singing in the morning, waking everybody up at 6am.
- Verified traveler (8/5): excellent service - Enjoyed our stay here. The staff made us feel very welcomed showing us where everything was in the city and telling us to get there. Also helped arrange trips. Would recommend to anyone looking for cheap accommodation with excellent customer service.
- mary (8/5): Quiet location a little difficult to find - Once we found it we were happy with the room and staff. The walk to get there was a little difficult especially in the dark. People will try to help you and then ask for a tip and complain a lot if they think your tip is too small. Try to avoid them if you can. Here's the simplest directions: when outside the wall don't enter through the main gates (big enough for small cars), go towards the end (past main gate towards the square and a second large entrance). There will be a smaller entrance for pedestrians. Go through the wall here and make the first right down a small pathway and then right again down a slightly bigger path. It will be towards the end of that path (15m) on your left.
- hnnnnnnn (10/5): Amazing service - Abdel and his team really can't do enough for you, we were a large party with 5 kids and two older people so we had lots of demands and changes of plans every five minutes and he accommodated whim with a smile.
Whilst I would say that the riad isn't as traditionally furnished or elborately decorated as some its pleasant, functional and spotlessly clean.
- Crooijmans (8/5): Very first warm welcome in Marrakech - It was such a great experience to stay at Riad Mounir. For my colleague and I it was the first time in Marrakech. Abdul, the manager, took really great care of us. The first night we had a delicious diner. And every day we had a good start of the day with fruits and bread etc. The room was lovely and clean. The shower was excellent, like a mini hamam. I wasn't really used to the darkness and it was really quiet, you could only hear your fellow travelers, so I didn't sleep that well, but I am a light sleeper. The location is fantastic, not in the tourist area, and not far from the beautiful Majorelle Garden!
- 851ayshas (2/5): Terrible! NOT recommended! - I do not recommend this riad to anyone! I had a very bad experience and it ruined the first time of my visit in Marrakech.
The riad is located in a very very poor area and it's not very safe to walk around as a women.
The shower was not working properly, we had water leaking and the sink was leaking water so the bathroom floor got wet while washing hands.
The beds are very hard and not comfortable to sleep on.
The bathroom smells every morning, seems like they have a problem with the ventilation.
The workers are trying to be helpful but it really does not compensate for the poor hotel. They don't really know about things also they promised transfer to the hotel but never sent it! Very bad!
- salmas920 (10/5): Amazing place with Amazing people - the best bnb I have ever been to in terms of cleanliness and customer service and value for money. it is really a hidden gem in Marrakesh. everything was more than I expected, and it hard to match my expectation since I am very picky. the breakfast was nice and varied (orange juice, coffee and milk, Moroccan crepes and cake, and egg with olive oil butter and jam). the customer service was the best ever I had experienced, giving me hints and good accurate guidance about Marrakesh and what to see. above all, the room was very clean as back home. for the first time, I used the sheets of a hotel. the hotel's location is very safe, we came back late without any problem, even if there are not many tourists around in that area, which made the charm of Riad even better.
- RaffaeleFilieri (10/5): excellent value for money - we booked this place through booking.com. They have a very high rating there and they totally deserve it. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly, on our arrival we were offered mint tea. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious, and the furniture clearly show attention to details. The area is safe and 10 minutes walking from the city centre (souk, main square jamel fna). The breakfast was excellent, coffe, boiled eggs, moroccan crepes, cake, marmelade, butter, fresh orange juice... all of this for approx. 20 euro! excellent value for money.
- andres11101975 (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - The hotel was brilliant and the staff were exceptional. On request they will give you mint tea which is a must. Always friendly and hospitable . Rooms are great very comfortable. This place I would recommend to anyone. I recommend you have dinner there as well. The most amazing food you will ever eat. Great service all the time and worth the visit even if you just stay at the hotel. I recommend a pot of mint tea at night while enjoying there roof terrace admiring the stars. Well done guys will definitely be returning.
- Jen (8/5): Nice hotel. Walking distance from most sights - The hotel staff are very helpful and nothing seems too much trouble. The location, whilst quite close to the centre, is hard to find, so I would not attempt it alone when first arriving. Our driver called the hotel and they were quite happy to come and meet us. I would definitely recomend this hotel if you want to stay inside the city walls.
- Miroslav_Kozelsky (10/5): New riad in Marrakech that deserves to be recommended - Riad Mounir is "brand new", owned by super friendly and helpful guy. The equipment is basic, but functional and the atmosphere is really great, calm and peaceful. Breakfast is tasty and served in a very nice part of riad. As rehards cons, the riad is not to be found easily (Google shows incorrect location, the correct is 31°38'18.6"N 7°59'42.7"W), the streets around riad look dangerous at first sight, but it appeared pretty safe (no accidents at all), Marrakech is rather safe city. Generally, Riad Mounir with a great price/quality ratio was a pleasant surprise on our way through Morocco and deserves to be recommended a lot!
