Guest Reviews
- John (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): -
- Peter (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a quaint town. Clean, friendly staff, and charming. Definitely would stay here again.
- Thomas (10/5): - The hotel was nice and clean. The TV could have been larger and there were no stations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We went up for Groundhog Day and got a perfectly nice hotel room for the nights we were there. Wish we had access to the closed bar and grill just so we had somewhere to sit and eat dinner, but the beds were comfy and great for what we needed!
- Oksana (10/5): - This property turned out much better than I expected from the pictures. Bar/Restaurant is closed since Covid times, so it is just a quiet simple place to rest. We had everything ready for our arrival, it was self check in. I suggest taking showers in the evening, because it is an old building and boiler is very slow to hit up, so in the morning you may run water for 15 min before it warms up. Giant Eagle and Dollar General and Sheetz are very close, across the hotel is an old church, police is one block away, so it is very safe and convenient place to be. And only 30 miles from Punxsutawney:)
- Shawn (10/5): - Great place to stay. Very clean.
- Wayne (2/5): - There was no hot water at all , the front desk staff said when we got there that since there wasn’t many people there and that we were on the 3rd floor the hot water might take 15 minutes or longer to reach our room, I let the water run for over an hour and still no hot water only ice cold… staff said they could give us a room on the second floor where maybe the water would get hott a little sooner BUTTT the room they were gonna switch us had no working heat! It a little portable heater , no thanks… it was brought to the staffs attention about the hot water issue and they did pretty much nothing to resolve it, when we checked out I called and asked for some kind of compensation, was told “let me call you back” that was three days ago I’ve left text messages and voicemails since , silence no response….
DO NOT STAY HERE … place is not good at all and has zero amenities. No fridges,no microwave,no Hot Water … and customer service gets two thumbs down as does the entire hotel… hope this helps potential customers out before they waste their money in this place …
- Sonya (10/5): - Everything was great
- Michele (8/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Shelly (10/5): - The hotel was near and clean. The rooms were very nice, the only thing that would make it perfect would be get some small fridges in the rooms. Otherwise everything was great
- David (6/5): - Everything was great except for one thing I know it’s an old building and you expect to wait for hot water, but I waited almost a half hour And the water Even Luke warm When I took a shower. Other than that, I have a wedding to go to the left me check in a little early, which was amazing. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and clean.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Easy check in ,quiet,and clean
- George (2/5): - We arrived and there was no one around. We called and no one answered.
- Billie (10/5): - Check in was easy and fast and remote. No contact needed for our late arrival. I have stayed here many times and never had a bad stay. Will always stay here when i visit Northern Cambria.
- Kevin (8/5): - The place was clean and easy to check in and out.
- Colleen (10/5): - We love the quaint old fashioned style and the furniture is so pretty
- Richard (10/5): Nice overnight stay. - We arrived much later than expected and lock box didn’t work. Management was very helpful in getting the lock box open. Was a warm and cozy room. Very clean. Would recommend to friends and family.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Very quiet and safe
- Cynthia (6/5): - Selected this hotel specifically because it had a restaurant/bar. Nowhere did it say that the restaurant and bar are closed except for Friday and Saturday and when I tell you there is NOTHING worth eating in this town, I mean it. It was a struggle. Moss Creek Pub was a diamond in the rough to find though. The hotel room was very comfortable and nice but there is no staff on the premises and the hotel is never locked. Again, the room was nice but there is NOTHING going on in this town and we were HIGHLY disappointed that we booked there BECAUSE it had a restaurant but it does NOT except for a Friday and Saturday, maybe. Kind of pissed about that.
- Ashley (10/5): - We stayed at City Hotel for a weekend trip, Friday - Sunday. It was very clean and the check in was quick and easy. We got in late on Friday so I called before we got there and had no issues. Our room was large and we had enough space for the four of us. We will be back!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location of this property was perfect for a wedding we were attending. The room was nicely decorated and clean. I didn't think much about it prior to our arrival but not having anyone on site like at other hotels can be inconvenient. For example, we had to go out into the hall and ask other guests to keep it down, something they promptly ignored at 6:40 AM. So, we had to put up with their noise, for 20+ min., despite calling the main number of the hotel. There was clearly nobody onsite to handle the situation. The fact that there is a bar downstairs isn't really an issue. You do hear some noise from the bar guests who stand outside smoking but it's no worse than usual city noise you'd find at any city hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Liked location. Pricey for the area. Didn't like having to wait a good 10 minutes for hot water and when next person went to shower the hot water ran out before finished.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property was clean and very convenient ....... ......................................
- Billie (8/5): - Have stayed here many times. Always been clean and is conviently located. Will for sure stay here everytime i am in town.
- Verified traveler (2/5): ABSOLUTELY HORRID! - ABSOLUTELY HORRID! Rooms are DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BAR. Don't plan on staying Friday or Saturday night if you have to get up early the next morning. Bar music was so loud that the bed frame was vibrating until after 1 AM. Tv is approx. 20 inches big on the other side of the room. Dresser is broken. We paid over $120.00 a night for a Queen room. NO FRIDGE, NO MICROWAVE. VERY SMALL ROOM. ABSOLUTELY NO HOT WATER. Waited 10 minutes for the shower to warm up. Got in. 2 minutes (maybe) of luke warm water and freezing again. They brought us the key for the room directly beside us and SAME THING. Then to top it off for TWO nights of our three night stay, the room across from us had kids running around, yelling and jumping on the beds. The second night they were screaming and kicking all the room doors YELLING FBI OPEN UP at approx. 9 PM. I called down to the manager, (off my cell phone, no phones in the room) and the KIDS ARE HER KIDS. SHE IS USING AN EMPTY ROOM AS A BABYSITTER! No apologies. PARKING LOT IS A JOKE. Plan on walking up the snowy stairs to your room and don't plan on parking anything bigger than a small truck/SUV. We will NEVER return.
- Emil (8/5): - Hotel was connected with the bar and grill, which was excellent for food. Great prices and fantastic food. Very friendly staff in the bar and grill that was attached. The woman at the desk also very friendly and was quick if anything was ever needed. I’m not sure if the bar and grill is the same owner or what but it really put a dull on things with the fact the didn’t open until 4pm on a Saturday. Also, no breakfast at the hotel. I figured that was standard by now when you’re paying $130/night. It wasn’t advertised to have breakfast but was still annoying especially when we couldn’t even grab lunch there after checkout at 11:00am.
- Bradley (10/5): Great place to stay - This place is great. The room was quaint but we'll kept. The staff was friendly at the bar. There food was good and the prices were great.
- Brianna (10/5): One night stay - Stayed here for one night for a wedding down the road at the Chetremon. It was the closest hotel accommodations and worked perfectly for a quick stay.
- Marcello (4/5): - The rooms are nice...But the bar was playing very loud music till 1:45 am. Could not sleep. Called the desk about the loud music. DJ said they will turn it down but it was still so loud, even with headphones on... NOT RECOMENDED
- Verified traveler (8/5): Surprising Find in a Small Town. - Stayed for two days to be near Punxsatawny for Groundhog's day. Was surprised by the hotel. It has definitely been recently refurbished. Especially suprising? the large bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Food was cheap and decently good. Service was excellent. Locals were friendly. Special shout out to Linda at the front desk who took great care of us. The very small minuses were the low quality wi-fi and the parking.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Basic, but nice. - We went for Groundhog day. The hotel was 40 minutes away! We thought it was much closer. It was basic. But clean, comfy bed, cable and hot water. I wish some of these hotels would consider finding transportation for their guests on these occasions. Groundhog Day being one. There is no Uber in that area. Even though it was over a bar, I had no trouble sleeping. It was not noisy.
- David (10/5): Super ! - Great place to stay to travel over to see Phil. Super people and great drinks and pool table to make it extra fun.
- Kevin (8/5): - Nicely redone. Modest. Bathroom was overall clean but not immaculate. Bed was comfortable. Everyone was friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was nice, but no hot water, my daughter and I both took cold showers and my wife waited until we got home to shower, they do have good pizza in the area.
- Gary (6/5): - Facilities were fine. However it was very loud from the bar noise directly below us.
- John (4/5): - Not much in the town and the property was under new ownership therefore didn't have the bar or restaurant open in the location. The hotel said it was non-smoking but didn't smell like it.
- Craig (8/5): Good hotel for visiting St. Francis University - The room was recently renovated. It was very clean, and the staff were great and very helpful.
- Al (4/5): Too many problems - The A/C in our room was missing a control knob, so we were offered another room. It was smaller. The bathroom had not been cleaned. There was a lot of noise from the bar downstairs. Even though I will be visiting my daughter and her family frequently, I'd rather stay further away and have better accommodations.
- Stacey (8/5): - Service and food was great, no breakfast though. :( TV didn't work in our room and staff got us another room quickly. Nice bar on the first floor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good stay - Hotel is quite modern with card key entry and reliable wifi. Check in was at bar like it used to be in old west and in Australia in rural areas. Friendly staff. Very Good meal at bar.
- stephanie (10/5): Great Stay!!! - We had to make a quick trip at the last minute on a Sunday night. I was a little nervous as I read other reviews about the noise. But being a Sunday night it was so quiet. When I checked in I was greeted so kindly. The room has got to the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. he bed was so comfy. Now there was no where in the hotel for coffee tea etc. and I had a hard time with the remote. But that would not deter me from staying there again. thanks for a great stay.
- Michelle (10/5): Great Fun Hotel - Great Hotel. The bar/restaurant had good food, music, pool table and friendly atmosphere. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
- Dave (6/5): Nice but overpriced - Walkways and room well lit, clean, and furniture in nice condition. Locating the motel office did not occur without assistance from bar staff. Check in was quick; however, little verbal communication, questions were answered. Check out simple. Room amenities were in good order, bed pillows very flat. Rooms are above the bar / restaurant, did have to deal with music and noise from restaurant. Overall nice place for a local motel; yet, felt it was overpriced. Parking limited, a few parking places behind building then metered parking on street, we ended up parking in another business lot near by. We did not have the opportunity to experience the restaurant.
- Mark (6/5): Loud band in the lounge - The room was clean, bathroom good water pressure and comfortable bed. However, the band in the bar downstairs played till 2am; couldn't get to sleep. If you are young and/or will be down in the lounge till closing, don't plan on getting a good night's sleep on the weekend.
- gurmit (10/5): A very pleasant surprise - It is a small town with limited hotel options and I have never stayed at anything below a Sheraton four point. This was a good surprise. The people are friendly and helpful
