- SvenZH (10/5): Unique boutique hotel with great service - I stayed at The Vagabond Club Singapore and came away pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located right at the border of Little India. While itâs close to two MRT lines, itâs not directly connected, which makes it slightly less convenient than more central locations. This is a very small boutique property, and what really stands out is the design. Itâs bold, eclectic, and quite different from what you typically see in Singapore. Whether you like it is a matter of taste, but I personally found it fun and refreshing. Despite its size, the hotel never felt crowded. My room had an unusual layout: the bed is right by the entrance, followed by a narrow corridor with a desk, leading to the bathroom at the back. At first surprising, but it worked well in practice. Room size is decent, though not particularly spacious. Service was a real highlightâstaff were consistently friendly and made an effort to engage. Breakfast is fully Ă la carte. Itâs well done and offers some choice, but after a few days it could start to feel repetitive. There is also a lounge-style offering (included in my rate), where you can select a few items from a menuâmore like light bites than a full club lounge experience. I didnât attend the jazz club, but it seems there are events almost every evening, which adds to the atmosphere. One downside: while my courtyard-facing room was quiet overall, the walls are quite thin, so noise from neighbors could be an issue depending on who you get. Also, there are no real facilitiesâno gym, no poolâso if thatâs important, this may not be the right choice. Overall, a stylish and characterful boutique hotel with excellent service, best suited for short stays or travelers who prioritize design over amenities.

- Sabine (10/5): Love it â¤ď¸ - Subject: A sanctuary when I needed it most The Vagabond Club is an absolute dream of a hotel, but what truly sets it apart is the incredible heart and soul of the staff. I unfortunately spent most of my stay feeling quite under weather, and the way the team stepped up was nothing short of exceptional. A huge thank you to the receptionist for being so incredibly considerateâallowing me an early check-in and a late check-out made a world of difference for my recovery. I also want to give a special shout-out to the bar team and the rest of the staff. The bartender was so thoughtful, suggesting and preparing drinks that were exactly what I needed given how I was feeling. Itâs rare to find a place where people truly observe and care about your well-being like that. The hotel itself is stunning, and while I couldn't fully dive into the experience this time, Iâm already looking forward to my next visit when I can hopefully enjoy the beautiful atmosphere to the fullest. - F9112UAandyp (10/5): Time For A Change - I have been traveling extensively World Wide on Business and Pleasure since 1980. Hotels and the rooms became a rather boring part of travel. During COVID I found myself locked down in Singapore and as a result was directed to stay at the Duxton Hotel. What a change from the usual Hotel and I loved it. I found the group who owned the Duxton also owned 3 others of a similar concept in Singapore. In February I booked into the Vagabond Club for 4 nights and was so impressed I booked another 4 nights in March. The very quirky features and appearance really appealed to me but more importantly the Hotel Team provided an appropriate service with a much more personal approach. If you are looking for a quirky but desirable Hotel this is it and its location is equally different but works. Without doubt the most unusual lounge but so much fun and fascination.

From the manager, Victoria, the front desk associate, Arti to the Service for breakfast each morning - everyone was delightful. The hotel itself is very unique. The Whiskey Library, jazz music and all the artwork made it for a very fun place to stay. Also very conveniently located to many different destinations. Loved every moment. From the moment you walk through the doors, itâs clear that this isnât your typical stayâit is vibrant, unique, and incredibly fun. The walls are adorned with a curated collection of unique photos, and every corner seems to hold a new surprise, from striking sculptures to bold, artistic decor. It feels more like staying in a high-end private gallery....with a Liquor Library- what fun!! With only 40 rooms, the atmosphere is intimate, and the staff actually takes the time to get to know every guest, providing a level of personal attention that is hard to find in larger luxury chains. A special mention must go to the manager, Victoria, and her wonderful team. They went above and beyond to make us feel important and specialâwhether they were assisting with our bags, seamlessly arranging our transportation, or simply checking in to ensure our stay was perfect. For those who value loyalty benefits and high standards of service, the fact that this is a Marriott property was a significant plus for us.

- DannyEu (6/5): Broken aircon - As a platinum elite member, I was upgraded to Suite at Fourth Floor. The aircon was not working, and I was moved to 2F Courtyard Room at 10pm. The rain shower water pressure at 2F is worse than 4F. The staff said the aircons at 4F were all broken and can only be fixed after two days. I was given a 15% discount restaurant voucher as compensation which I already received during check in, I think the hotel could do better than this. First time staying with this hotel leave a not-so-good impression. Nevertheless, the service of the staffs made it up and make my experience better. The staffs are all kind and attentive, Aarti helped me with check in and checkout, she remembered my name and asked about my stay, make you feel welcome. Gabriel helped me with luggage as 4F doesnât have lift to reach, and switched my room at night. The housekeepers responded to my request quickly and were always smiley. The food and service at their executive lounge are also good. My three stars are for each of them.

- stevemL883CN (10/5): Vagabond Clubâa great place to stay. - We recently spent two nights at the Vagabond Club, and we were very impressed. The location is great, right between Kampong Glam and Little India. The vibe is fantastic, with deep, rich maroon throughout the bar and lounge on the ground floor. The rooms aren't huge, but they're very comfortable, and our bed was perfectly firm and gave us a great night's sleep. We'd definitely go back. We would definitely recommend a stay. And if you do, be sure to ask the manager, Kavitha, for the art tourâit's fascinating!

Smaller rooms than your typical American hotel room but still had all the amenities. Two large suitcases will struggle. We had just one. No plug points in bathroom Area so Hard to straighten hair.
- niladrimitra (10/5): Unique and tastefully designed property. Surely, there is no other place quite like this in the city. - The hotel looked very classy from outside when I got down from my cab. As I made my way inside, I took time to locate the reception desk, which was in the shape of a metallic rhinoceros. The entire lobby area looked very interesting. I was quicky checked-in and given the keys to my room. My room was a deluxe executive room, and it was quirky, but tastefully decorated. The room was small in width, but was very long. I really appreciated the style in which the furnishing and fixtures were done. Everything was extremely clean and well put together and all amenties and comforts were adequately provided. Some points should be noted however: 1. There was no person outside the hotel, or in the lobby to assist with bags. I was not carrying much luggage, so it did not matter to me, but there should ideally have been someone from the bell desk to assist with guest luggage. 2. The hotel does not provide in room dining. I forgot to read this detail on the Marriott website and I found out when I felt hungry later at night. The hotel encourages guests to order using Grab if they wish to eat. 3. The walls of my room were quite thin, and I could hear much of the noise from the adjacent rooms. These aspects aside, this is a remarkable property. My breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Further, their jazz and whiskey club has incredible amience, and they have live music from Thursday to Saturday. Sadly, my stay dates did not coencide, however, I definitely plan on coming back and enjoying a stay at this property over a weekend in the near future.
- MarshalltownMan (10/5): Great little boutique hotel adjacent to interesting neighborhoods - If you want to avoid the huge corporate hotels in tourist zones, this is a great option. Itâs clean and well run. Owned by Marriott (and presumably upholds their standards) but definitely has the feel of a small boutique hotel. Itâs located very close to Indian and Muslim sectors so you can go out on foot and explore those neighborhoods. Those shops and restaurants mainly cater to locals so it didnât feel touristy at all. Didnât see a single shop selling singapore T-shirts. Fabulous Indian and Lebanese food! The surrounding area isnât upscale but it is authentic, and of course (like everywhere else in Singapore) felt safe even though we were often tourists walking amongst locals. Itâs a short ride to most attractions in tourist zone. But honestly looking back we enjoyed local neighborhoods more than tourist stuff. The hotel is small but unique. They specialize in whiskey and live jazz. The decor is very cool, both in lobby and in rooms. It was quiet except Saturday night when bar patrons in street whooped it up until 3 am. Rooms are on 2nd and 3rd floor, so the front rooms like ours are right on the street. Thus earplugs were needed that night if you have a room on the street. No fitness room but Anytime Fitness is right across the street. No pool but that wasnât important to us. In-house food is Indian. Bed was very comfortable. Room was smallish but very much met our needs. Had a fridge, desk, safe, etc. Now the best part: The staff. Unbelievable customer service! Small in numbers but sky high in quality. They all speak English fluently of course. One of them comes out to the sidewalk to greet and help us the minute our cab door opened. Someone came up to our room to check on us after we settled. Always warm and smiling. And unlike American hotels, they arenât always looking for tips as it isnât their cultural norm. Shakeela helped us on our last day with many details including free luggage storage after checkout. She went above and beyond and was so nice!

Everywhere feels grubby and all lighting levels are very low. My wife started her period unexpectedly during our last night and we were horrified to see that they have no mattress protectors on the bed . But that did not stop them taking a large amount of money from our account over and above the hotel fee. We did not give them permission to do that and we consider that to be theft. So avoid this hotel . They do not provide a five star service and they are very aggressive people. I felt threatened and intimidated by them.

Right from the moment we booked, the team was very responsive to any questions we had. Special mention to Jennifer from the front desk, who was extremely helpful, friendly and understanding of any needs we had. Our stay was enjoyable thanks to the service. Besides that, rooms were a bit small especially if you travel with a lot of luggage but a great whiskey lounge with an extensive collection. Would recommend for the service.
- HumphreyBuanas (8/5): Exceptionally good value in a great location in Little India - The hotel was in a good location in Little India, with a 10-minute walk to either Lavender or Jalan Besar MRT. We booked a room with the club experience which was exceptionally good value with breakfast and afternoon nibbles and drinks included. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues, but staff were quick to address and resolve them. The room itself - a deluxe executive - was generally quiet, being at the rear of the building, apart from being next to the service lift which noisy. The room was small (pretty standard in Singapore, I believe) and an odd, elongated shape and the fact that every square centimetre had something crammed into it or onto it added to the cramped feeling. I would strongly recommend some de-cluttering, although I understand that, to some, this is part of its charm. All the staff were wonderful and all up they made our stay very enjoyable. I would stay here again, albeit in a different room not next to a lift.

The design of the hotel was quirky but pleasant, and the property gave off a classy vibe. The service was excellent. Every staff member made me feel welcomed and valued. I wish to mention Arienne/Arianne (my apologies for not getting the spelling right) from the front desk. During check-in, I witnessed an extremely unpleasant and rude man shouting at her and being very confrontational and condescending. Despite that, she maintained her professionalism and politeness throughout the whole duration. Arienne/Arianne deserves all the recognition for her performance that day.

The lift video is to be experienced. The interior design is beautiful and unique. The staff were lovely throughout our stay. It is a small 41 room hotel part of a small chain of boutique hotels. If you get the breakfast included option youâll have hearty set up for your day, tea and coffee all day and also has a free drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the early evening. Fantastic!

- GGG12342017 (10/5): Fantastic! - We last stayed four years ago and are glad things were just as good as our last stay. The basic room we stayed in last round was rather small and decided to get a Deluxe Club Room this round. Due to low occupancy during our stay we managed to snag an upgrade to a Courtyard Room which was much appreciated. The room was definitely much bigger than their basic room and led to a much more comfortable stay. The evening cocktails at the Whiskey Library was also fantastic, with 3 cocktails and 3 Ala Carte dishes each, it was sufficient for a light dinner. The package also included breakfast the following morning. There are also no shortage of great dining places in the vicinity which we also utilised during our stays here. We will definitely be staying again in future if prices remain as reasonable. Thank you to the wonderful staff for the great service and making for such a pleasant stay!

The Hotel itself is eclectic, unique, romantic and interesting. All of the normalities of a place to rest your head were met and exceeded. The beds were very comfortable. A/C cut right through any humidity. Showers were as hot as youâd want. Breakfast was delicious. Drinks in the evening hit the spot and jazz and whiskey nights were smooth. The location was nearby many of the interesting sites to see and NOT amongst the high-rises and city center but not too far away. The Hawker Centers were truly our favorite places to visit and several great recommendations came from The Staff. Two very memorable events were a part of the trip. This was our 32nd Wedding Anniversary trip that happened to coincide with my (Richardâs) birthday. Aarti at the front desk happened to notice on my passport my birth date and arranged a spectacular surprise brought to our room while we were out exploring suggested places from Aarti and others on the staff. A complete surprise but so greatly appreciated! We almost missed the surprise as it was in the other room. Oh, what was the surprise you may ask? A birthday cake/pie that was made with apples and strawberry slices on top! My favorite pie is Apple Pie! How did they know!? The pie was accompanied by champagne which accentuated the apple and strawberry flavors. This stepped up an already memorable trip to an UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE! We would like to extend a very gracious Thank You to everyone at The Vagabond Hotel for such a wonderful time. We stayed one night, the a/c was cold, the room amenities are thoughtful, the bedding and linens are luxury. We liked the doors and windows and the access to the shared terrace. Shades and drapes are available for privacy. Plenty of outlets for charging electronics. In-room safe. Spacious private bathroom The breakfast was the best I had during a two-week Asia trip. Try the chai. The staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel can be noisy, and the lighting is dim. I would stay again.
- keithc950 (10/5): Bit Of A Shock - We arrived at the Vagabond expecting a usual USA Marriott hotel. What a shock. Met at the entrance and cases were whisked in. As soon as you entered you could not stop eyeing up all the great features. It is an Indian themed hotel with all the majestic features of the good old days that you dreamed of Indian hotels. We felt we were in India rather than Singapore. It was so special. The furniture in the lounge/dining area was luxury. Food was excellent. It has a whisky tale to tell. There are cabinets and cabinets full of rare whiskeys and people also have their own lock up visual cupboards with their world wide luxury drinks for when they visit. The key cabinet alone was a feast to behold with owners private tasseled keys fobs. As India is a top whisky connoisseur country then it was befitting of its display. There is too much to put in one review. Please check it out on the web. The rooms although a little small had everything you needed and was serviced to a high standard daily. Water was always available for you as you came in or went out of the hotel. Breakfast was English if required and very tasty (although served with rabbit food) - private joke with the waiter. I hope he gets to read this. Is their a single highlight?? Yes. It was the staff. The service, politeness, attention to detail was exemplary. We felt like royalty. It was a superb stay and thank you to all the staff for making our first trip to Singapore so memorable. Keith Chester
- DGWanderer25 (4/5): Not a good value for money. Not recommended - Overall, a terrible stay and I would not come back. The only positives are the design in the check in area and some staff who try to go above and beyond to help. While there is a huge list of negatives: 1. Suite had no windows at all so had to change. 2. The second room was so small that one cannot even move with one luggage. 3. Third room was fine but had a weird speaker static which could not be sorted but I was tired to change the room. 4. Poor housekeeping and cleaning in room. I complained even then no one came to clean or mop the bathroom and room. 5. Lounge benefits and limited a average quality. The limit of 3 drinks is not published anywhere, which is clear lack of transparency. I asked the staff why and I was told they are not required to provide lounge benefits so i should be happy about whatever they are providing. Super weird 6. Breakfast options cannot be mixed and matches. It is like you are in school mess.

- chihh2019 (10/5): Not what I'd recommend for a first-timer to Singapore, but it's good for Q1 Mattress Runs :-) - The Vagabond Club is an OK hotel. You may have heard about the tight room space, but if you have Titanium status, you might very well be upgraded to a larger 'Executive' room, and that larger room is certainly big enough for 2 people to hang out. However, even when I was upgraded, my room had no view, instead just facing another building's exterior wall just several meters away. The interior design is a bit on the kitschy side, with the Rhino front desk and the elephant. And that kitsch spills over into the rooms and the bathrooms. But if you're bored with the Ritz Carlton or those other cookie cutter places, then this place is for you! Pretty instagram-worthy, I think. There may be some people who are looking at (and comparing) this, the Serangoon House, and the Duxton (all Bonvoy hotels), and trying to figure which one to stay at. Anyways, they're all under the same management. I'd say this Vagabond Club is the poorest located of the 3; the Serangoon House is just on the northern edge of Little India, and the Duxton is right there next to Koreatown. This hotel, on the other hand, is really not near anything of interest for a handful of blocks, and of course, in the heat of Singapore, that may bother some people. (Another TA reviewer said that you're next to Kampong Glam. In my opinion, that's not quite accurate. This hotel is right between Little India and Kampong Glam, and at the end of the night, it's a bit of a downer making the trek back. I didn't stay for drinks or breakfast, so can't comment on those this time around. The biggest reason I give this a '4' is that the location is just not convenient for a good time, and it's an even more questionable pick for first-timers to Singapore who want to enjoy themselves. [ Bonvoy folks: But if you're just looking for a mattress run in Singapore during Q1 double ENC promos, this is still a good pick! :-) ]

Only stay here if you donât mind feeling a part of the local neighborhood. The bartender and doorman are very friendly. We rarely saw the front desk person. Top floor suites require several steps to access.
- Mark (10/5): - This was my second stay at The Vagabond Club, the last being seven years ago. It's a lovely boutique hotel. From the moment you enter through the front door, it's quiet, stylish, peaceful and cool. I had an ordinary room, not large, but very pretty. I felt comfortable and relaxed. Some really nice and interesting design features, like the bathroom door that is really a wall, and the panel that slides back and forth allowing entry into either the excellent shower or the rest of the bathroom--maximizing the space. The lobby and whisky bar are so plush with cool lighting -- you'll feel like a celebrity. Finally, the neighborhood is really the best. So many interesting restaurants and bars--alive at all hours, while somehow being not too loud or busy at all. I look forward to my next stay.

- John (10/5): - This hotel has a lot of sophisticated character, and we were excited each time we entered and re-entered. The staff at reception and in the bar/restaurant were professional, friendly, and helpful. We also had one of the best nights of sleep we've had in a while. The food was good; the decor and ambience were excellent. Cost was reasonable.

- Devon (6/5): - This hotel was unique⌠the decor was eclectic and very cool, but the actual building was lacking. The âair conditioningâ was just warm air that barely blew. Maintenance came up and said it was fine, but we felt like we were suffocating since the windows didnât open. The other issues were that the bathroom flooded everyone we took a shower, and the television didnât work at all. Again maintenance was called and nothing was done.
- Daniel (9/5): If you enjoy exceptional and out of the ordinary hotels, this is the place to stay! - This is a boutique hotel close to Little India! There was a huge selection of food and entertainment venues within easy walking distance. And of course, being in Singapore, no worries for safety no matter what the time of day. We really enjoyed the complimentary evening cocktail times in the club lounge (which was the bar). The staff were super friendly and took great care of us! Special thanks to Ms. Chelm. Ms. Phoebe, Shah, and Chef Vijeya for a memorable stay! I rented a car to facilitate some business meetings. Unfortunately, there is no on-site parking available. However, the street parking was cheaper than expected and in most cases, it was easy to find a place close to the hotel. The only issue was weekend evenings as the entertainment venues are very busy until early in the morning. The breakfast choices were limited, however they all tasted great, and the amount of food was more than enough!
