Peter (10/5): A Welcoming, Comfortable Stay - The Devon Hotel was immediately off the highway, meaning no winding through industrial areas, central town streets etc. Reception was very friendly and welcoming, check-in quick and efficient. Our immaculately-clean and fresh-smelling room was ground level, quiet, and had parking immediately outside the door, so no lugging suitcases up stairs, onto elevators etc. There was even a small fridge next to the bed, the first we have encountered in three weeks of UK hotels. The restaurant attached has the most excellent buffet-style carvery available, with very reasonable prices. We only stayed one night, but couldn't be happier.

Karen (8/5): Quite a good hotel but attention to details needed - We like the location, proximity to the city and our family. And easy to get to without getting snarled up in city traffic. The restaurant next door is convenient. Lovely towels! Easy parking and charming, friendly staff. Dated and shabby bathroom. Rusty shower curtain rail. Water damaged mirror. Odd splashy stains on the walls. Holes in the duvet cover. Old fashioned TV system. Not enough storage for a longer stay. Not enough hooks for towels, coats and dressing gowns. We had a room service sandwich and asked for the pickle to be served separately, but it wasn’t. All mixed in with something that didn’t look at all like cheddar cheese.

Staff were lovely, location is fantastic Breakfast was beautiful, however we were told the restaurant finished at 9 and Hubby turned up at 9.10 and when we went for a meal apparently closed the kitchen closed at 9.00, but not a problem went to Denleys in Topsham which was lovely. We returned to Hotel and relaxed. Thank you x

Delicious evening meal and plenty of choice for breakfast😋 Room temperature too warm and winter duvet too warm (perhaps time to change for summer duvet tog)!

2JJenny (8/5): Perfect for my needs - Room and bed very comfortable. Location excellent as very close to Park and Ride. Wonderful to have a safe and fridge in the room. Plenty of convenient parking. TV was a nightmare to use! This needs sorting. Guests need to be warned that on the first floor there are several steps to most rooms. Carvery was advertised as choice of 2 meats but only 1 was given, otherwise was excellent. I would have liked half the amount of pork I was given to be able to have a slice of one of the other meats offered.

Yvonne (10/5): Beautiful lil Hotel - We arrived late in the evening and gone early in the morn, but our stay was good. I'd issues with steps in the room and they sorted it out for me, Gave us a chance to try out the bar while we wait. Lovely set up, steps only my issue, but thats a personal problem. Staff were really lovely, reception, bar and cleaning staff. Very welcoming x As stated above, only issue is had was with accessibility, but they do have ground floor rooms available and if you let them know as you are booking, they will accommodate you. I didnt do this, but didnt know I had to.

Liz (8/5): Great location for us, clean, comfortable and our pup was made to feel very welcome both in the hotel and the pub next d - Staff were lovely, room was clean, comfortable and had all the basics. We also took our little dog and the room had a bed, bowels and a large jar of dog treats waiting which was a lovely touch! Also great pub right next door that served incredible food which was a massive bonus as we didn’t have to go far at all to eat! Room was a tad small, but we were in a dog friendly room which seemed to all be on the ground floor which honestly was ideal as we didn’t have to trek through the hotel to take the dog out as could just open the door straight outside and take her out, only downside was that you do get noise from people walking past but luckily we were so tired we didn’t really notice! I can’t comment on the other rooms and appreciate the dog rooms may be slightly different which is understandable.

French doors leading to patio table and chairs and car parked directly in front which was very convenient for loading/unloading luggage. Food good at breakfast and evening meal and friendly staff. Louisa (9/5): Very comfortable and well equipped room in a convenient location - Convenient location, very clean and comfortable. Restaurant next door. Fridge in the room. There was a slight mix up when we arrived and some confusion about room allocation but it was soon sorted. There were steps up into our room which was a bit awkward with luggage. The fridge had not been emptied from the previous occupants but otherwise it was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Linda (10/5): Perfect stopover. - Perfect place to stop enroute (after a long journey) to Cornwall. Staff were very welcoming, room comfortable & spotless, with the bonus of a bath as well as a shower. Very dog friendly, although I should point out, that even though I 'searched' for pet friendly places to stay & booked 1 adult & 1 dog, do call the hotel to check they have a pet friendly room available or make it known in the booking notes. When we arrived at reception, my booking did not show +1 dog, thankfully there was one last pet friendly room left but this may not have been the case.

Dinner was Ok i was late after a long journey and they were rushing me out at 9.25 The Tv was difficult not plugged in two plugs not sure what the second one did when i got there difficult to tune in . The room had four narrow steps up to it off the corridor tricky carrying luggage .

Upgraded to king bed, however, it was two singles zipped together. Room 105 absolutely stinks of damp (horrendous) , room was boiling and air con wasn’t working.

Tracey (8/5): Comfortable, convenient, clean and well equipped. - The room was very comfortable, with air conditioning and heating. Smart TV with many channels and Sky TV. Clean bathroom with bath and large towels. I was also happy to have a kettle, good size mugs and fridge. The bed was also very comfortable. My room was on the ground floor, which was also convenient as I had a car, and I was able to park right outside. The room was relatively small, but as I was on my own, this was fine. Also the blinds on the main door to the room were old and bent/broken in places which let the room down on first impression and difficult to close as the string was broken. Replacing these would just round off everything and give a better impression.
