Pilates, Yoga classes. Breakfast on the terrace. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was a shame that they did not have a liquor license, so no wine or cocktail for sunset at the bar.

If you are looking for serenity this is where you want to be.

The island pool area was so relaxing and Eric served up some incredible fruit smoothies. It is a great place to catch the beautiful sunsets. As soon as we began snorkeling, we were greeted by a lot of fish. Kayaking was fun but we sadly missed out on seeing any manatees.

We also loved the amenities they offer, especially the snorkeling gear, paddle boards, and bikes. However, the building is old and needs updating. There are too few outlets and the Internet was spotty. I missed having a desk in the room. And the bathroom is small. But I loved the lush grounds the and the Island area.

- MINIlove (10/5): Healing and Rejuvenating. A perfect place! - Casa Morada has become, after years of visiting the Keys, our go-to! There is nothing else quite like it. I think it’s possibly the most beautiful place in the Keys. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the property is quiet and peaceful. The sunset is perfect…. And there are manatee/s that visit! It is our favorite vacation spot. The staff are caring and really lovely…..Especially Samantha….whose smile we look forward to each year! We seriously love this place!
- littletraversebay (10/5): Charming - Charming & very comfortable. We stayed 4 nights while visiting Islamorada on a fishing trip with another couple. The manager Samantha does everything possible to make sure guests are happy & well taken care of. Our room was very clean, if a bit dated. The grounds are beautiful & well maintained. Lots of darling places to sit & enjoy being outside. Beautiful spots to sit in cabana or out on the beach, plenty of beach chairs. I expected breakfast to be continental was very pleasantly surprised with fresh cut fruit, eggs & potatoes with bagels, toast & the lady who is the attendant was amazing. Lots of places to walk to for lunch & dinner. A place to dock your boat. Paddle boards & bikes there to use. My only concern was the pool was cold, there had just been a cold snap. Great place & look forward to visiting again!

- Gooselee (8/5): Peace and paradise found - Lovely experience at Casa Morada. Small, intimate and ideally situated in Islamorada, but off the main road enough to be quiet. Water view rooms are a must book! We were in the Iguana suite - huge room, nicely appointed with a kinda weird bathroom set up, but spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Huge bummer the bar on the 'island' was closed, but the hotel was great about communication so we were prepared before arrival. Also the sunset sailboat was in dry dock. Not sure why either was unavailable and more info wasn't provided. Breakfast was exactly the same every day and limited so we went out several mornings.
- karenbD757GI (4/5): Just a big disappointment - We just had a sinking feeling as we arrived. It’s nothing like the reviews or the pictures, more a motel than a hotel. We got a pretty lacklustre welcome. We then went to our room. It was clean, the smell of bleach was strong, and tidy but everything was so tired, with chipped tiles, scuffed paint work, leaking shower etc. There was no safe, which we were really upset about. They just said “ oh there isn’t one in that room, we’ll see if we can find one”. But they never bothered coming back to us and a portable safe is pointless anyway. We couldn’t use the room with the day bed as the light didn’t work. No point asking, as we found with the safe, they don’t respond. The next morning the breakfast was adequate, a toaster, microwave and a small selection of foods. The pool is also very disappointing, other than the lovely view. It’s just very tired. The sun beds are cheap ones, not the ones in the pictures, and there are no umbrellas so shade is hard to come by. No one staffs the pool so, other than water, there are no drinks, and the unstaffed bar is very dilapidated. There’s no food but Lorilei’s nearby do great lunches. The gardens are quite nice and the toiletries are nice. When we left they didn’t even ask how are stay was; it’s like they don’t care. We wish we’d stayed at the Islander Resort. We rented a cabana there one day to get away from our hotel. It’s about 50% more expensive but it’s 150% nicer. Expensive but so much better value for money as you get so, so much more. All in all, we just felt Casamorada was a lot of money for a very basic motel. We were gutted as it looked so nice online.

Very private. $700 a night with ZERO amenities. No bar, no restaurant, no spa, no tiki bar. Continental breakfast was not as good as a Hampton Inn. No real cable system for the TV. Room furniture a hodgepodge of stuff that looks like it was bought at a garage sale.

Very nicely furnished and nice bathroom...important to us. They had more than a continental breakfast for us overlooking the Gulf; included in the room. NO CHARGE for parking. Highly recommend to anyone who wants peace and quiet and not a mega resort.
- SummersBaker (4/5): Very Disappointed World Traveler - My husband and I have traveled extensively and typically stay in well-reviewed 3-4 star boutique hotels. We couldn't have been more disappointed with our $900/night (after all fees and taxes) Shangri-La Suite Casa Morada stay. At that price point, you expect a very nice room and some type of amenities other than a beach towel and an unheated small tiny pool. There was no shower. (The only way to bathe was a very small faucet wand serving a large tub, with no shower curtain, that sat in the middle of the bathroom). There is no beach, and what could be a very nice outdoor bar is not staffed or equipped. There was no help with luggage across a gravel drive and up a long flight of stairs. No food offering of any kind -- except the meager continental breakfast and fully closed at 10:30. One has to trek about a block from the seaside to get your own Cokes and Water at the front desk. There was no extra blanket in the room and no way to get another blanket (or anything else) after the front desk closed early. This is not a 4.5 rated beach destination resort, but a 2.5-star, lightly staffed motor inn that happens to be located on the beach.
- ThamRiver (6/5): Tired, poor value and in urgent need of TLC - We so wanted to love Casa Morada, having been recommended the hotel by dear friends who has stayed previously. There are some real positives to the property – the location, the gardens, the "private island" – but sadly there are also a number of fundamental flaws. The rooms are tired and desperately need an urgent refurb. If I was being kind, I would say they have gone for the "shabby chic" look but in reality, the rooms are just old and a little decrepit. Our room (Coconut Palm) was badly laid out, with a poor use of space. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been touched since the 70's. The plumbing was hit and miss (no hot water in the sink, the shower head would decapitate anyone over 5'10" etc.). The saddest aspect was the lack of use of the facilities. Offering only breakfast, we found the gardens, dock and pool largely abandoned, especially in the evenings, as guests sought refuge elsewhere. Be aware that the front desk closes at 8pm; fortunately, we had called ahead due to a delayed flight so were able to organise access to our room. The overall vibe was of a "has been B&B" in need of some urgent TLC. Fine perhaps at $150-200 / night but at over $500+ / night, this did not represent good value.

- Connector06644972701 (10/5): One of our favorite places in the Keys! - We have been coming to Casa Morada Motel for over 10 years every February for about a week. We really like this place. Very peaceful. We always stay in one of the ocean rooms. This year 2026, they have better Staffing this year then the last few years after "covid". But also I found out it got sold, so perhaps that's the plus too. We will be coming back 2027 as scheduled :-). A really great place. Very pretty and peaceful. Not very kid-oriented and as before I believe you have to be 16 to stay here. Plus-- their staffing has really improved, really outstanding staff.
- JoanMG (10/5): Beautiful and Serene Casa Morada: Stunning Water Views and Lush Gardens - We had a delightful stay. Our second floor "garden view" room was both comfortable and charming. The simple and delicious breakfast buffet was in its own building, closer to the water. Ruth, who both was at Reception and prepared breakfast, was lovely and welcoming. While we could have wished for warmer weather, it was still far colder up North :) it started to be more typical Keys weather as we were leaving!

Buona colazione che si può consumare all'aperto fronte mare. Il caffè offerto in camera, ma è una cosa che accade spesso all'estero..chiamarlo espresso non basta a farlo buono :) Il cappuccino a colazione invece ottimo.

I think that might be the largest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in…very comfortably appointed as well. The breakfast buffet was delicious too. We can’t wait to return.
- SharonSmead (10/5): Florida Keys excursion by car. - What a Gem! (Thank you, Sam!) We have stayed in the upper keys a few times, and this place is far and above our new favorite. The grounds are beautifully manicured, giving an almost middle-of-a-jungle feel. Our room was well appointed with a retro style (which I love) refrigerator, and hand crafted ceramic coffee mugs adorned with "Casa Morada". But as beautiful as the resort is, Sam is the shining star! She greets everyone with an infectious smile and upbeat attitude. We had a small issue with our room (caused by previous tenants) upon arrival, and Sam came to our rescue within two shakes of a lamb's tail. She fixed the issue with a smile and enjoyable conversation, even suggesting some local options for dinner. So, if you have a chance to stay here, you will not be disappointed, and if you meet Sam, say hello for us. p.s. We got a pizza at the Whistle Stop just up the streat. Very local place with delicious food and good prices. Recommend as well, especially if you are looking for something to have in your room.

Our room was spacious, quiet, clean and felt very private, which made it perfect for relaxing. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The beach and pool area are both stunning — great places to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great selection and delicious food. Most of all, the staff made our stay special — everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We would happily come back again and highly recommend this hotel to others!

Spacious rooms, gorgeous views, plentiful parking, friendly service and lots of amenities. We kayaked and enjoyed the island. Our hostess was friendly, readily available and informative. The breakfast was also really nice. The support staff at Cass Morada works hard. They do a great job creating an experience for all their guests. If Islamorada is your destination key, I highly recommend staying here.

Free kayaks, snorkel gear, and bikes kept us as active as we wanted to be. Also free yoga out on the island under the covered area was beautiful and well instructed. The breakfast was great and consistent. The room was big and clean. Overall, between the staff, the property, and honestly the products they use in the bathroom, this place was amazing and just what we needed. We are already looking forward to returning.

We liked how laid back the atmosphere was. It was within walking distance to some restaurants. Our room was spacious and clean, but the big disappointment was our room had no shower. We stayed in the Shangri La suite and there was no shower. I would have liked it to be explicitly stated that there was no shower, because I never imagined that there wouldn't be one. It was very inconvenient to only have a tub in which to bathe for 5 nights. I would stay here again, but I would not book the Shangri La suite again due to this reason. We were also right next to the breakfast area so every morning we would walk out of our room door or use our balcony and be in the middle of everyone else enjoying their breakfast which was awkward, but not an inconvenience. Just something else you might want to know before booking the Shangri La suite.
- Sara (9/5): Quiet boutique resort with sunny coastal access - The highlight of this small resort is its private coastal access with nicely landscaped pool and lounging area. The property also has a lush garden area where one can stroll or sit, sheltered by trees and tropical plants. The all-you-can-eat continental breakfast offers a good selection of edibles in a sheltered open air deck. The service in the office is friendly upon check-in and checkout or if you have questions; once you're checked in, service is hands off, but I found this created a sense of privacy and relaxation. My mini-suite had a sitting room in addition to a bedroom, which allowed me to spread out during my several day stay. The room itself was clean and decently appointed if a bit uninspiring; having now stayed at several beachfront properties I think it's typical of a certain basic functionality (utilitarian floor, no rugs etc.) due to likelihood of sand and wet items being tracked in. As a quiet person, I appreciated that this is not a 'party' resort, though there is a small bar right on the water for those who enjoy evening cocktails. I also liked that there was no fishing on the property. All told this is a nice boutique resort and a good stay for couples or individuals, especially if you want a quiet getaway with private coast access. Nothing significant
- Maxwellpants (10/5): Absolutely the BEST in Islamorada! - We had been staying at the Moorings across the street for years for our annual winter getaway but decided to try a new place due to changes at the Moorings. We feel so lucky to have this gem! From the moment we arrived at this adults only retreat we felt at peace with nature. We kayaked, snorkeled and relaxed at the waterfront for a week. We took the bikes everywhere! But it was the staff that truly impressed us! Sam the manager is WONDERFUL! Warm, accommodating and deep expertise about the island. Eric the bartender was so friendly and interesting we could have talked to him all week. Ruth (who is the cook) serves up a beautiful breakfast everyday with homemade croissants and even packed us a lunch when we went fishing all day. We truly can’t say enough about this little paradise and will return again and again! One note for travelers: while we loved our room (the upstairs Shang- ri-la) their is NO shower, just a tub with a hand held wand for water and that can be bit awkward if you are not flexible enough to actually sit in a tub.

Daily housekeeping is a plus. Hot breakfast was added this year (eggs & potatoes). Great food from the Thai Food truck located on the property. Sunset Sail was awesome (also located on the property). Free use of kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles. The pool could use a heater.

- DMadoc (10/5): Special hotel in a special location - Haven of tranquillity in the Keys. Beautiful gardens, very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and stunning location overlooking Florida Bay. The island pool area and bar were great, amazing sunset views and wonderful sea swimming. Staff were great, and a special shout out to Eric the bartender, a fount of knowledge and engaging conversation to make our stay even more special.

We enjoyed the peaceful seclusion of our room's porch as well as the pool area, which was only a few steps away. The pool area also provides the perfect spot to watch the sunset every evening.

We especially appreciated Eric the bartender. He was a great host- friendly and offered tips about the area. The breakfast attendant (sorry we did not catch her name) was so pleasant, efficient and remembered our special coffee orders each morning. Walkability to a few fun restaurants and bars was an added bonus! We hope to return someday.

Resort has all amenities and the staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. Sam is a gem! Great local dining nearby. Take the sunset cruise or boat tour. I was wavering between Fisher Inn, Sunset Key Inn, Drop Anchor, and LaJolla. I wanted something that felt old school and charming. We made the right choice. This place is AMAZING! What we loved about it was the vintage vibe, the friendly staff, the gorgeous grounds, and the amenities. The pool area is gorgeous. You could spend the day sitting by the water, swimming in the pool, and enjoying the poolside bar. They also provide paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes. By the way, we saw a manatee in the lagoon when we were paddle boarding! I highly recommend Mangrove Mike's for breakfast (walkable!) and The Shrimp Shack for dinner (a quick drive away!).

- 304geminib (10/5): Perfect Keys boutique hotel - We stayed for two nights at the weekend. We were warmly greeted at check in and I was immediately enamored by this unique resort. We stayed in Jungles, the rooms have names not numbers, key pads to open the door so no key to loose. The room was large and immaculatly clean very comfortable with a Keys feel. There's a well stocked mini bar great shower and cold ac. The grounds a beautiful. It feels like a little adventure as you walk through and find hidden seating areas. The paths lead to the dock swimming pool and bar. It's just a lovely area that has lots of seating options. My personal favorite was a raised area with a bed and lots of cushions that caught the breeze. The bar man is friendly and chats away while making delicious drinks. Hidden in the grounds there is a food truck selling delicious Thai food. Sounds quirky but so suits this gem of a hotel. They have a great selection of freshly prepared food. You can choose your spice level. It's very reasonably priced. This place is everything a Keys boutique hotel should be intimate relaxed and friendly. We can't wait to return.

From Eric at the tiki bar and his great choice of music, to the lovely breakfast included every morning, the Sunday 8am Yoga we loved, the outdoor shower (we stayed in Sweet Mango), the lovely front desk staff, we couldn't be happier with our stay here. Lots of close activities, restaurants & bars. Rooms were a great size, had a small fridge in them to hold beverages and our dogs food. Our dog loved the grounds and we had fun brining him! - Thomas (8/5): We would stay here again. - Stunning views. Loved all the amenities offered. There is a tree branch that really needs removed or at the very least marked better. Went to back in a spot and due to it being just high enough my camera or sensor didn't pick it up till my rear window was completely shattered. Had to spend our Saturday driving to homestead to get it fixed. Wasting a day of our trip. All staff did was say ohhh I'll tell the owner. We heard nothing else about it.

- trenchermanstravels (10/5): Tranquility - We have just enjoyed the most tranquil three night stay. It has to be the most chilled place I have ever been. Prepare to relax. Some of it is a little old fashioned but that is true of most of the Florida Keys and a big part of its charm. The waterfront setting is magnificent and the pool next to the gulf amazing. We saw a shark, manatee and stingray swim by. The staff are all lovely and the use of bikes, kayaks and paddle boards a very nice addition to our stay. We had lunch twice at Tuyoymiothai the onsite food truck which was some of the best Thai food I have eaten (Including in Thailand) and by a mile the best food we have eaten in the Keys so far. Relax at the hotel and enjoy the Thai food truck which is a MUST.
- kaylianas2025 (10/5): STAY HERE!!! - We went down for the weekend to lobster and stayed here it was amazing. The property, the workers, the food truck, the rooms it was all homey and amazing. They have complimentary breakfast every morning as well as complimentary bikes, kayaks, paddle board, and yoga! I can’t wait to come back !!!
- Barbara (9/5): We had a very enjoyable quick getaway to Islamorada. We enjoyed the Casa. We will return. - Breakfast was ok. Nothing over the top. It’s tough to have an elegant buffet with scrambled eggs. Can’t really keep it piping hot. The coffee and croissants were excellent. Yogurt was cold, which is tough in 95 degree temperature. I would have enjoyed more continental type bfast. Too hot for eggs and bacon. Orange Juice was very cold and tasty. The outdoor area was serene but did not have enough cooling. One floor fan wasn’t adequate. The hostess was lovely. Made a cappachino if you wanted one. The accomodation was fine. We had problems with the TV, told the staff and they brought in a different tv which worked fine. Bed was comfortable and the temp of the suite was perfect. Well air conditioned. Their was a hot tub on the private deck but with 95 degree temperature, I wasn’t going to take one. The outdoor bar/pool deck was serene and perfect for our needs. I’m not a big drinker, but to grab a refreshing cocktail or beer under cover on the gulf side and look out into the gulf was very relaxing and I enjoyed watching the fabulous sunset. We purposely chose a place on the gulf side of the keys for its serenity. Having an outdoor pool was one of the main reasons we chose this venue. Wanted a quiet laid back place. The location was perfect for our needs. The Shrimp Shack was a short walk and the food /service was outstanding! The staff was very accommodating and pleasant when you finally got a hold of them. The phone number given to us by the check-in person was a problem. You call the number, leave a message and had no response during normal workday hours. Nobody was at the front desk. The call back was 30 minutes later. I did appreciate that I was able to use the garden hose to get the road dirt off of my car.

I would definitely book another stay here. This was an unplanned daytrip to Islamorada so it was only one night but it's a stay I walked away from feeling great. My wife and I were impressed.

- N3710TBtonyp (10/5): Already Planning Our Return Visit - If you want to feel like you are in a cozy secluded resort amongst friends and house guests, (not necessarily hotel guests), this is the place for you. It really felt like we were in someone's house, not a hotel/resort. Everything about this resort oozes calm, seclusion and relaxation. That's not to say that there aren't things to do, like using the kayaks, or snorkeling or playing bocce ball, but if you want to relax and feel like the resort is practically all to yourself this is your spot. I believe there are only 18 rooms, so even when the resort is full, you won't encounter many people. There are two distinctive parts to the resort, the garden area where small trails lead to your room (some have covered patios with lounges and outside showers), among the trails you will find lots of shade, a couple of hammocks, as well as a variety of local, and exotic plants. There's also a small rock waterfall in a lower area, a large tiki hut with seating and fans to relax with friends as well as a comfortable grassy area. The back of the resort you will find a second building with water-view rooms and an area in the second floor for a delicious breakfast. This part of the resort faces West and offers excellent views of sunsets. There is where you will find the pool, a large covered bar (great drinks) with lots of comfortable seating, access to the kayaks, snorkeling gear and a large covered structure with an outdoor day bed to spend the day. The room we stayed in was very quiet and well sized, other than the bathroom which was on the smaller size, but not bad. The entrance to the room had a large daybed and seating, while the bedroom itself had a very comfortable king-sized bed. The air conditioner worked great, which in the Keys, especially in the summer, is very, very important. Now, there are two things, if the owner reads this, that I would highly recommend to improve an already excellent stay. First, I would add ceiling fans to the outside covered patios of the first-floor garden-view rooms. Primarily to keep the mosquitoes away. We really were not able to enjoy that area, even with the citronella candle the resort provided the mosquitoes were too much. Additionally it will help to keep that small covered area cool, as otherwise it's a bit hot. We'll be bringing our own fan when we return if they don't install or offer them. Second, I would offer food. They only offer breakfast, which is included, but we saw several couples, including ourselves, have to leave the pool area to go get lunch. It would be nice to be able to order some basic food items like sandwiches, wraps or pizza and not have to leave the resort to get food. Overall, the stay was absolutely excellent and we are definitely planning on coming back.
- 669darrend (8/5): Great Pool Area! - Breath taking view from the pool. Gorgeous breeze with a great and friendly bartender. Great place for a quick getaway. You can paddle board, snorkle, kayake or just lay aroud lazily all day. Relaxation at its best!
- carlsv2025 (10/5): Amazing view even better drinks - Amazing experience - great set up and such beautiful views of the sunset. Our experience was enhanced by hanging out at the bar and the pool accompanied by Eric the bartender who genuinely made some of the best drinks I’ve ever had in my life, and I’m an avid traveler (and drinker LOL). Overall 15/10 experience and genuinely made great by Eric!
