The breakfast menu is excellent They need to replace the rugs in the rooms or change them to tiles. They also need to clean up the sit out and pool area on the last floor and put it into good use

Cuando llegamos al hotel nos encontramos con la desagradable sorpresa de que ya no había habitación disponible. Tuvimos que reservar en otro hotel y no hubo problema. El gerente de Fleur de Lys nos ayudó a buscar una solución.

Mais l'accueil à la réception de l'hôtel cette fois n'était pas à la hauteur du précédent. La navette n'était pas non plus présente à l'aéroport. Votre représentant à l'aéroport a tenté de nous expliquer cette situation et nous a mis dans un taxi communal "jaune" non climatisé. Il nous a dit que nous n'avions rien à payer. Le 17 jour de mon retour (hors navette), je vois qu'on m'a facturé 50 000 Frs Cfa au titre de l'utilisation de la navette. J'avoue que je n'y ai rien compris. Nous n'avions plus le temps de discuter. Il y avait une distance à parcourir pour prendre l'avion et nous n'avions pas envie d'être en retard. Je pense qu'il mener des corrections à ces niveaux

We asked for extra pillows and a towel and they were delivered promptly. The breakfast buffet on the 11th floor gave a beautiful view of the city, but the food could've been better. It was ok, but some hot dishes were not replenished (eggs, sausage) and others looked soggy and overcooked. Otherwise, it's a good place to stay!

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Return I recently stayed at Hotel Fleur de Lys in Dakar Plateau, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. First, I had booked a room with two separate beds through Booking.com, but upon arrival, I was given a room with a double bed instead. There was no effort from the staff to address this or offer a solution. The service was lacking—no one took the time to show me to my room or explain the hotel’s facilities. I struggled to turn on the lights, only to later realize that the key card had to be placed in a specific slot and left there—something that should have been communicated upon check-in. The WiFi was extremely poor, making it difficult to get any work done or even browse online. Additionally, the room was not properly cleaned, with dust around the lights and curtains, which made the stay uncomfortable. Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations, and I will not be returning. I would recommend looking for better options in Dakar with more attentive service and cleaner facilities.

On arrival there was not even a kettle in the room no coffee machine. When speaking to reception she was rude and not of help se dismissed us like children. They then put a kettle in the rooms but no milk when asked about the milk I was told there is no milk in the hotel. I believe this is too basic. I got told to speak to the manager... The next morning he made me wait to speak to him. So we paid an extra 10000 for something we did not get. Breakfast was not good quality the only good thing that was able to get coffee.

• Fanta (8/5): Au cœur de Dakar 😊 - I recently had a 5-night stay at Hotel Fleur de Lys in Plateau Dakar, and I wanted to share my experience, highlighting both the challenges I faced and the commendable aspects that made my stay memorable. Initial Challenges: My stay began on a rocky note during the first night when I encountered an unfortunate incident with a receptionist. He rudely informed me that my reservation was for one person and that I would be charged for my caregiver if he was staying over, whom he referred to dismissively as "your friend." As a customer experience specialist, I found this interaction unacceptable, especially since I had booked the room with my card and paid for my entire stay in cash. I felt insulted because he thought i was trying to sneak somebody into my room.I explained my situation, emphasizing that I was there for medical reasons and required assistance but the person wasnt syaying over. Thankfully, I was able to address this directly, and the next day, I raised my concerns at the reception. Positive Resolution: The reception staff took my complaint seriously and demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction. I received heartfelt apologies, and the management team graciously sent a lovely fruit plate to my room as a gesture of goodwill. This thoughtful response made a significant difference in my overall impression of the hotel. Accommodations and Service: While my initial room had some issues, I was impressed by how quickly the staff addressed my concerns. They responded promptly and efficiently, which is a testament to their attentive service. The hotel’s cleaning staff were consistently friendly and ensured my room was spotless every day. The food served at the hotel was satisfactory, and I particularly appreciated the complimentary breakfast. It offered a decent variety to start my day on a positive note. Exceptional Management: One standout aspect of my experience was the exceptional manager at the reception.

One towel that didn’t even look fresh enough. Hotel didn’t even provide as little as a bottle of water per day. They only gave one bottle on check in. I wouldn’t recommend this place, except it’s for free . They have a pool that looks like a death trap. No life guard . The gym has nothing functional In it besides the 2kg dumbbells.

• Charlotte (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, I will be going back and I would happily stay here again. - The bedroom is spacious with somewhere to place your luggage. There is a minibar too but we didn't use it because it was nicer to have a drink in the restaurant/bar. The bathroom was also spacious and the shower is big. The room was cleaned every day unless you felt it was fine to skip a day (save the environment!). The breakfast was delicious with a variation of sweet and savoury breakfast. I tried lots of delicious local breakfasts. The restaurant was also brilliant, plenty of exceptional, healthy, local dishes. Excellent fresh fruit juice cocktails too. The location is very central in the little streets of Dakar. Excellent to get to markets, the port and be quickly immersed in the hussle and bussle of the city. The staff were all so kind, welcoming and helpful. They were happy to give advice on places to see or travel tips for Senegal in general too.
