Guest Reviews
- Scott (8/5): - It’s a real charming slice of the old school Jersey shore nestled amidst the sometimes gauche luxury of Stone Harbor. It has everything you need just a few blocks from downtown and the beach.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Save your money! - Save your money
- Piera (10/5): - The is a well maintained motel. It is not fancy or pretentious. Our room was small but perfectly maintained with a comfortable bed. There is a shared grill, dining table, and outside shower.
- Sarah (10/5): - Clean and well-kept!
- Richard (10/5): What we needed - Comfortable, clean, and the right amount of space we needed as a couple for a weekend getaway.
- laura (10/5): - great place at a modest price super happy with our stay
- Kerri (10/5): - The hotel was great! Owners were very friendly. Room extremely clean. Parking was easy. They provide beach tags. Everything was easy to walk to.
- Rebekah (10/5): - Cute, basic motel -- no frills, but none needed for a beach town trip. Staff are very friendly and nice, and the location is an easy walk (a few blocks) to either the beach or downtown. Highly recommend!
- Francisco J (10/5): - This is a simple location but it’s a great one! Very clean! The host is amazing and I would recommend it!! When I go back to Stone Harbor I will stay here again!
- Nicole (8/5): - This is a great motel for a low key, no frills experience. Very close to the beach, walkable to the major shopping and restaurants in the center of town. Has its own parking lot.
The rooms are somewhat small. The walls are thin (you can hear your neighbors). TV, WiFi, mini fridge. Just the basics, but cute and clean.
- John (8/5): - Clean and efficient. A good value
- Kathy (10/5): - Quickest check in of my life! In & out w/ room key. Room was spotless, bedding beautiful , plenty of towels & toiletries. We slept great !
Would book again!
- Philip (6/5): - Strictly 50’s motel. The bathroom was exceedingly small and no safety bars in shower/tub combo.
- Janis (4/5): - Musty smell, bathroom very small...mold
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Property was well maintained, rooms were very clean, and check-in and check out was convenient. My only complaint was that the bed was a bit worn on one side, but for only a few nights it was manageable. The location was excellent only a few blocks from the center of town, and 3 blocks to a lovely beach. Would definately recommend, and plan to return to again.
- Lorelie (10/5): - Customer service was pleasant and accommodating! Room was spacious and clean !
- Karen (8/5): - Needed a motel for 1 night. Met all our needs
Convenient, in Stone Harbor and close to Avalon
Clean room & bathroom
Comfortable bed
Bathroom small but functional
Recommend and plan to return

- Joe (10/5): - Great place. Quiet. Very nice location.

- Laura (10/5): Beautiful Stone Harbor - Perfect location and the room was comfortable and quaint. We really enjoyed our stay!
- Brook (6/5): Pleasant, But Pricey - Without a doubt our room at the Sun 'N' Sand Motel was clean and tastefully appointed, and the motel itself is conveniently located both to the beach and downtown. That said, the room was quite small, and lacked various amenities which are included with rooms at other local motels for less money -- e.g., no pool, no coffee maker in the room nor free morning coffee at the motel office, no ice dispenser, unpaved parking, etc.
- Vicki (10/5): - Excellent stay. Pecfect for us. Loved the location and the cleanliness. Will stay there again. Thanks so much!
- Zac (10/5): - awesome
- Ana (10/5): - We stayed for one night. The room was small and cozy and very clean. The staff was very friendly. The property is maintained well. We would definitely return.

- Nicholas (10/5): - gfujgghjfghjgyjg
- Richard (10/5): - Very clean and fresh. Friendly owner. Quiet neighborhood
- Mary (10/5): - Exactly as advertised - clean and functional- great location and helpful management .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Was ok - Clean, just didn’t suit my needs for this trip.
- Frances (8/5): - Nice comfortable bed, nicely decorated bathroom. Not super soundproof but we were there in the off season so it wasn’t full.
- sharon (10/5): Hotel stay - Awesome. Would stay again
- Stacey (6/5): - Very nice owner but the property is extremely dated. Window air conditioning unit. Small room /small bathroom /dated furniture very few outlets.
- William (10/5): Exceptional.Read the reviews. - This is an.older very welklmaintained property .4 star hotels are not even as clean as this motel. OFF street and on street parking available .On a quite residential block . RECEPTIVE manage.ment to any concerns .(none) when I stayed.Very high cistomer satisfaction. BOOK early. ROOMS go quick.
- Jessica (10/5): - We love this property. The beach at Stone Harbor is immaculate - clean, well-maintained, quiet, and never crowded. This property is within walking distance and the rooms are clean and there is outdoor space to hang towels, bathing suits, etc. The staff are very friendly and accommodating - we wouldn't stay anywhere else!
- Peter (10/5): - Clean comfortable room within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return again.
- Johnny (10/5): - Very clean and close to everything.
- David (10/5): - Great location
- Mark (10/5): - We were very pleased with how quaint the suite was. Very clean and comfortable. John, the owner was very nice and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
- Susan (10/5): - We loved this motel, just wished the air conditioner was quieter:). Everything else was great & convenient to beach & town.
- Frances (8/5): - Very pretty bathroom, newly renovated. The room is clean, but not large. The heater works well, the bed is comfortable, and the blinds are very effective. Overall we had a very nice stay.
- Carol (10/5): - Loved parking right in front of our unit and also the spaciousness of the unit! All the ceiling fans were a plus too, as was the hand bars in the shower!!
- GERALDINE V (10/5): - Very clean, nice staff. Room a little small but very nicely kept up. Would appreciate a hook on back of bathroom door to hang your pj’s
- peggy (8/5): - It was clean and neat, close to everything.
- Amanda (10/5): A Hidden Gem - It was a last minute stay after a wonderful day in Cape May. We love Stone Harbor and my husband's family had a house there for 40 years but recently sold it. I went to Hotels.Com and reserved a room at Sun N' Sand. In all these years I never even knew it was there. What a pleasant surprise. It was absolutely charming and so welcoming. I reviewed their website and was thrilled to see the specials they offer and we look forward to staying here many more times to come.
- Verified traveler (8/5): We're not dirty - Visit was ok. In window air conditioner was loud; old and noisy. Asked to move. Owner moved us to another room which was fine. Wife felt like she was inconveniencing the owner and was asked if she we had dirtied the original room. Not good vibe.
- Carole (10/5): Going back 40yrs! - Very enjoyable - would return.
- Vivianne (6/5): - Dated, not many amenities, very small bathroom. Window air condtioners.
- Katherine (8/5): - Rooms are small and spartan. Television is basic cable. But it’s also convenient to the beach, dining and shopping, and the place is clean and quiet. It worked for a long weekend.
- Karen (8/5): - Bathroom very small. Very clean. Nice area.
- Roosevelt (10/5): - Absolutely loved our stay. Owner was super friendly, room was very clean & cozy. Perfect location for walking to the beach & downtown for food or shopping. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a lovely spot. There is nothing we didn't like about it! Very nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was fine except the bathrooms. They need remodeled with stall showers so they have more room. Bathrooms much to small.
Convenient walk to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was clean. Service great. Would likely come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stayed in 2 queen room, not a suite, and it was perfect for me. The rooms are clean and quaint but not outdated. The bathroom was well stocked with soaps, shampoos, etc. and a hair dryer. Well stocked with towels that were replenished daily. The bathroom is small but worked fine for me. There is a fridge, no freezer. Missing amenities would only be microwave and coffee maker, but there are plentiful coffee and breakfast places within walking distance. The location is great, it’s quieter than downtown area and the beach is within a short walk away. Beach tags are provided and parking is free in the area. Also a great outdoor shower stocked with shampoo, soap etc. Nice family owned business, very nice owners. Loved my time there, stayed for a week.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Located just a few blocks from the beach and shops/restaurants. It’s an old beach motel so you can’t expect much. It was dated but mostly clean. I’m giving three stars because there was a bug in our room the first night, then a dead one in the bathroom the next day. They were small and they weren’t roaches, but still, I don’t like to see any bugs. Otherwise it was fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed three days and thoroughly enjoyed this little gem--affordable, very clean and surprisingly updated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wish we could have stayed longer. The owners just totally make your stay here the best
- Verified traveler (4/5): - clean place but wouldnt refund my money when something had come up where i couldnt stay the entire reservation.. water was freezing cold.. and they gave me a space heater no bigger than a foot tall.. place is okay i wouldnt go back but thats my opinion
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close and convenient to everywhere I needed to be for my friends beach wedding.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, had all that we needed during our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Decided to do a quick night away. Adorable little hotel within walking distance to the beach and town. Absolutely spotless. Check-in/checkout was a breeze. Would definitely recommend trying this place out!
- MaryLou (6/5): - The motel rooms were clean, there was a definite problem with hot water as you had to run the water for a long time and the pressure for hot water was next to nothing.
- Fred (8/5): - This place is good for certain people. If you are an older couple that want quiet or have teenagers this place will work.
It is NOT kid friendly at all. There are too many lamps, statues, and drawers with knives that a toddler can get into.
We stayed in a full suite and it was clean and beautiful. They provide shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, two tvs, and dishes. It comes with toaster, coffee maker, and of course microwave with small oven.
The biggest complaint we had was they didn't supply COFFEE and charge 20.00 for every person after 4 people. Even if its a TODDLER 2 years old.
I recommend if your a honeymooning or a retired couple with couple friends. Parking is kind of tight too.
The owner is very nice and the place is up to date and very clean.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very clean - Good location and very clean.
- Jennifer (8/5): Clean and comfortable. - Clean nice little hotel in a beautiful Stone Harbor. Would highly recommend for a short stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, clean motel room in a good location. Just a couple blocks from the beach, or there's a nice gazebo if you go another block over to 101st street beach. Out of crowded central area but just a few blocks over to it for food and such. Didn't check it out at night but Bucket's Margarita was great for breakfast. A reasonable quick drive to other shore points if you want to explore around Cape May or get to the OC boardwalk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beach access + clean rooms - Clean rooms, easy to sign in and access room in COVID friendly way (masks on and 1 person in check in area). Beach access is only 2 blocks away and you are provided a beach pass (normally you pay to access beach). Awesome stay.
