• Hector Armando (8/5): Excelente hotel céntrico en San Cristóbal - Me gustó mucho la ubicación, a media cuadra del parque central. La atención del personal es excelente y muy atenta. Las habitaciones están muy bien, cómodas, y los materiales son de calidad aceptable; no son premium, pero buenos. Los baños también cumplen. El restaurante del hotel está muy bien y a precios razonables. Creo que el único problema del hotel está dado por su excelente ubicación, si bien sí ofrecen estacionamiento gratuito, éste se encuentra a tres cuadras largas de distancia y enfrente o cerca del hotel prácticamente es imposible encontrar estacionamiento, esto se vuelve un problema para bajar y subir el equipaje, hay que cargarlo por tres cuadras (el personal ayuda, pero aún así es muy incómodo) o detener el tráfico y aguantar los claxons y molestia de las personas que circulan por la avenida Madero.

• Erik (1/5): the staff checking my room before I left felt rude — it made me feel uncomfortable. - I liked that the hotel was conveniently located near my hometown. The noise easily passed through the walls all night. the walls were thin and I could hear noise throughout the night

• Marco Aurelio (6/5): - Las camas y almohadas son muy incomodas, la habitacion que me toco es sofocante se siete uno encerrado , no hay botes de agua de cortecia, solo te dejan un papel higiénico , el restauranten tiene musica en vivo y se escucha hasta los cuartos aparte de que es un restaurante de pizzas que el humo que genera el cocimiento se extiende en todo el restaurante ...y para rematar solicite me extendieran un poco de tiempo mas para realizar mi check out y me lo negaron comentando que tenia reservas y el hotel estaba vacio, muy vacio toda la ciudad estaba con poco turismo por ser temporada baja creo que debieron ser accesesibles en ese aspecto....solo regresaría pq admiten mascotas.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Un pequeño detalle que se resuelve fácil - me he hospedado mas de 5 veces en esta hotel, inclusive la misma habitación en 2 ocasiones y mi experiencia es muy agradable, excepto en esta ocasión, ya que tenia una falla eléctrica en la habitación por el interruptor de tarjetas (sugiero eliminarlas, no son muy fiables), pues, al usar la secadora o plancha se interrumpía el servicio eléctrico, también solicite agua para beber por la noche y me dijeron que no tenían en ese momento. Eso no frustro ni un poco mi viaje. Se que en mis futuras visitas no será así, la comodidad ahí es genial, la limpieza muy detallada y la habitación con un estilo muy lindo.

We were right next to a departure point for the tours we took and the staff in the hotel were very nice. We were able to check in early and check out a little bit late without issues. The only things we didn't like were that the fridge in our room was not working and the WiFi in the hotel could be spotty at times. Also, there were a few days were we didn't have hot water. None the less, we had a very pleasant time.

• Marjorie (8/5): Could have been a great stay... - We stayed at their supplement hotel with 3 very nice 2 storied lofts with kitchenettes. Unfortunately we were in the middle with a loft on either side of us. There was a bunch of young travelers with dogs, including a puppy, staying in the 2 suites. They partied all night loudly, playing music and singing until 9 am the following morning, which is when we left on a tour. It's too bad we didn't get to experience the wonderful comfy beds to the max. We couldn't sleep for the noise. Not that we would have complained, but there wasn't a phone in our room to call anyone to say anything to had we wanted to. It was really not a pleasant experience. Otherwise the hotel was very nice. It was very cold, being San Cristobal, so bring your jammies and no heaters to be found. Very close to the cento and many good restaurants in the area. Not sure if we'd return.
• Martin (4/5): Cold hotel with no room heating in winter months. - First of all I am a professional photojournalist (National Geographic, Unesco) and have stayed in more than 3000 hotels in 160+ countries during the past 40 years. That said I want to make a strong criticism of the Hotel Helverica in San Cristobal. While the hotel is well located near the central square and many restaurants, and the staff was generally good, the lack of hearting in the winter months is a problem. If one is spending the entire day outside this will not be a problem but if one wishes to stay inside one’s room to work on writing such as I do, then the unpleasant cold temperature will be very bothersome. I asked for a heater but was rudely informed that I had not paid for one and would be charged extra. This seemed wrong to me, given that I was paying more than $75 per night for the room. I have stayed in many, many hundreds of hotel rooms where the heating was provided at no extra cost and feel that the Helverica is definitely overcharging for the service it gives. The additional cost for heating is NOT mentioned anywhere on Hotels.com and I think this is at the expense of the client. My advice: do not use this hotel or be ready to be uncomfortable cold.

• Jose (6/5): San Cristobal de las casas - The location of the hotel is awesome. However, the room I stayed in, number 14, is behind a club that plays music until 5am. It was loud and I couldn’t sleep well because Of the noise. This complaint has been all over the Internet but I thought it was a manageable issue. But it was not. Don’t recommend rooms at the back of the hotel.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to enjoy San Cristobal - Spent two nights here. Fantastic location near the central square. Has gated, private parking. We reserved the two-story townhouse a couple blocks from the main hotel (where you check-in). It was super clean, modern, and spacious. It had its own balcony with hammock and chairs next to the bedroom/bathroom, all upstairs. Downstairs had a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, sink, blender, etc. There is no a/c, but not a problem at all since San Cristobal is a lot cooler than most Mexican towns. The are is tons of activity with restaurants and shopping all withing walking distance. We parked our car and never used it again until we checked out. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. We will definitely stay here again in the future!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent hotel in the city center - Gorgeous, modern hotel in the heart of San Cristobal. We stayed in the small apartment style room--2 blocks from the main hotel. Our car was parked right in front of our room behind a locked door. The rooms was very clean and well-appointed. The upstairs bedroom had a bathroom with shower and a balcony with hammock and chairs. The downstairs had a kitchen and seating area. The main hotel I just off the square and out place was a couple minutes walk from there. Super convenient. We were surrounded by restaurants and walked everywhere. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!!

Huoneisto oli arkkitehtoonisesti näyttävä, mutta monet yksityiskohdat olivat jääneet huomiotta. Sänky oli hyvä ja valaistus yöpöydillä riitti lukemiseen. Muuten asunto oli pimeä. Olohuone-keittiössä en nähnyt esimerkiksi mikroaaltouunin säätönappuloita ilman omaa taskulamppuani. Mihinkään ei voinut ripustaa vaatteita. Kylpyhuoneessa ei ollut koukkuja pyyhkeille. Keittiössä oli kahvinkeitin ja keittolevy muttei niille pistorasioita. Sijainti on hyvä, lähellä kävelykatua.

El único detalle es que en el cuarto que estuvimos (núm 3) se escucha mucho el ruido que viene de afuera. En la madrugada en la zona de recepción estuvieron haciendo muchísimo, no sé si fue parte del equipo del hotel o huéspedes y eso no nos permitió descansar.

• juan pablo (2/5): this was a total SCAM. - Got this hotel because of the location. the. i get there and they sent me to a different place like 3 blocks away. hotel reps where not al all helpfull. tried to change the room and no more vacancy. got us really angry since we were there with other couples for a wedding. at the lobby they told us it was explained on the webpage BUT NOTHING ABOUT IT is said in the reservation.

• Vanecel (2/5): - El hotel en las fotos de expedía se ve completamente diferente a lo que realmente es, las habitaciones están mucho más pequeñas de lo que se ve y yo me quedé en una habitación “de lujo”... El hotel y las habitaciones huelen a humedad, el agua caliente dura muy poco tiempo, las toallas estaban rasgadas de las orillas, publican un posible desayuno que no existe, el estacionamiento está lejísimos y como no tienen servicio de valet parking tienes que ir con los botones de hotel a dejar y recoger tu coche; eso estuvo súper mal!!!! No recomiendo en absoluto el hotel helvérica, por el previo hay muchos con mejor precio calidad. Lo único que puedo rescatar del hotel es que está A una calle del centro, pero hay otros mejores a la misma distancia. El personal del hotel está cero capacitado para tratar gente, la recepcionista incluso fue grosera al solicitarle información. En fin... cuando regrese no será mi opción de hotel.
