Guest Reviews
- Nicola (7/5): Pleasant staff and rooms, great location but too noisey for us - Great location, big spacious rooms well equipped. Friendly staff. Being directly above a pub it is noisy unfortunately not only during pub hours which is to be expected, however the cleaners came at 6am and as our room was directly above the pub it woke us up and we could hear everything.

- Josep (10/5): - Friendly, clean and very good located
- Kelly (10/5): - The people were so helpful. The food was delicious.
- James (8/5): Good basic accommodation - It's a pub. I liked the location near Farringdon and the staff facilitated a very late arrival for me. There's not a huge amount of comfort in the room but the bathroom was well appointed. It's a long walk up the stairs with luggage to getting to the room.
- Yoav (8/5): -
- Tyler (10/5): Lovely and unique stay - The overall ambiance of the pub and rooms was impeccable (think royal portraits of dogs), the staff was very attentive, and being right across the street from the Tube stop was extremely convenient. As others mention there's no lift and the staircase is narrow, so carrying suitcases up can be tricky. Pub loading/unloading could get noisy in the morning as well, but that's to be expected.
- Laura (8/5): -
- Frans (8/5): Attended a wedding dinner, visited St Paul's and Sloan's museum without public transport. - Great location & the pub with great food at a stone's drop distance. It was quite noisy, esp due to the smokers on the street and the barrel delivery early in the morning. Tip: ask for a second floor and/or backside room.
- Partha (10/5): Nice rooms and excellent pub - Large room with good facilities - snacks, tea/coffee, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with nice toiletries. Bonus is the pub below where I joined colleagues before heading out for a meal. Not good for those with disability due to steep stairs - no lift
- Malcolm (9/5): - The staff and room were excellent
- Daniel (8/5): - Sehr schöne Unterkunft, tolles Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal.
- roger (10/5): Very comfortable - The welcome at check in, the location, and super super comfortable bed to name but a few. Nothing
- Laurence (8/5): -
Excellent emplacement. Déjeuner du midi. Pub ouvert à midi. Pas de petit déjeuner sur place.

- Martin (9/5): Will definitely book again - Lovely friendly and efficient staff
- Nathalie (8/5): Wonderful stay with very comfortable accommodation - would come back for another stay in London! - The room was stunning and absolutely comfortable! Huge, too (we had room number 1). Location was excellent for a week of exploring London and surroundings. The One Tun Pub does not have breakfast but there is complementary tea and coffee in the rooms for every morning (and a great, cheap pub next door, for breakfast, too). The One Tun Pub is a very old building - hence the walls are not especially thick. You can hear people walking in front of your door very well, neighbours above you well. The pub closes at 11 p.m. so noise from the street (or the pub) is not essential. We had gotten used to the noise pollution very quickly but it could be a concern for light sleepers!
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional stay, best hotel I've found in London - I got a room upgrade by surprise which was enormous – very spacious, lots of amenities including towelling robe, hairdryer, ironing board etc, and real charm. A far cry from most inner city hotels, and lovely touches like a copy of their own newspaper, etc. My best stay in a London hotel, hands down. Small improvements to sustainability: I really appreciated the glass bottles of water to avoid plastic, and the soy milk options to give more options. Even better would have been to have refillable shampoo containers to avoid multiple single use plastic bottles per night!
- Trisha (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Elisa (10/5): - Super consigliato, camere grandi e confortevoli.
- Ruth (8/5): Good location, friendly staff - Quiet location
Free drink
Comfortable room Lots of stairs
Don’t like cushions on bed
- James (10/5): Happy -
- Inès (9/5): Perfect place for a weekend get-a-way! - It was very cosy, separate entrance to the pub, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms. If I have to say anything it is that the place doesn’t have an elevator so don’t bring too heavy luggage 😂
- Emma (9/5): Lovely! - Fabulous stay! Not my usual place as booked last minute but it was really lovely. Will be back!
- Rebecca (10/5): Lovely room, warm hospitality, and great location - Beautiful room with comfy bed and all the thoughtful amenities - bottled water in the fridge, tea & coffee service complete with biscuits. We were in the room closest to the pub but you could barely hear it while they were open, and they closed around 9:30p so it was dead quiet after. Very clean and close to the Farringdon tube station, so it was easy to get out to Heathrow and onto the Thameslink train. Pub staff were super friendly and didn't mind that we took pints to go up to our room. Great hospitality - would happily stay here again!
- Claire (10/5): -
- Susan Michelle (10/5): Great location and staff - Lilly was very friendly and helpful in getting us to our room. Great location, close to a train station. N/A
- Jutta (8/5): Good for one night - The room was nice, bathroom too, bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The staircase was super narrow and steep. No breakfast available. It was quite noisy - outside and you could hear the guests upstairs
- Sam (10/5): Great location near Hatton Garden with amazing service. - The staff went above and beyond to make us welcome throughout our stay, including making sure we had a table for dinner despite it being extremely busy. The rooms were tastefully decorated and well appointed with everything we needed. We loved the quirky dog pictures all around the pub. The Asian inspired food in the pub in the evening was delicious. We had a great nights sleep as although the pub was very busy, the noise stopped promptly at 11pm and the area was actually very quiet overnight. Nothing
- Christin (8/5): -
- Ann (6/5): - The room was lively and the service was great. However, the noise level was insane. People shouting in the pub below ended at 10:00, which was expected, but we were woken by a couple shouting at each other over the vacuum cleaner as they cleaned at 5:30 the next morning. Nice spot and great location and service, but bring your very best earplugs!
- Plock (10/5): Very cozy pub stay with all the little details thought of. - Attention to the little details. Rooms were above a renovated pub which was also really done well. And the food was amazing. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms were also quiet with good windows which was appreciative being above the pub. Very clean, spacious rooms. Coffee/tea/water and snacks provided in rooms. Cozy beds and sitting area. Large bathroom. You could hear the television in the room above and unfortunately that guest had it on late into the night. Otherwise we loved the place and would definitely stay again.
- Shannon (10/5): Very charming stay in easily accessible location in London - The room was a great size and well laid out. Very clean, plenty of storage and surfaces to lay things out. The location was right by a major tube hub, so easily accessible from any direction; and walking distance to most items on our list. The steps were steep, but the listing is very transparent about it.
Also, just as an FYI, pub closes a little earlier than listed on Google Maps. We arrive back at 10:15 pm on a Saturday hoping for a nightcap, but the bartender had already left for the evening and the barback was only allowed to serve us bottled beer. Certainly nothing against the barback or establishment, just something to keep in mind for a future visit.
- David (10/5): - Nice rooms above with easy access to the Tube and very nice staff! I will definitely be back!
- Robert (9/5): - Zimmer was besser ausgestattet als in mancher Luxus-Hotelkette. Snacks und Wasser gab es frei.
2min zu Fuß mit Gepäck von Bahnhof/Haltestelle Farringdon Nichts
- Line (10/5): - Calming
- Rachael (10/5): - This is a lovely place to stay and very convenient. Really comfy room.
- Steven (10/5): 10/10, would stay again! - Location excellent, food & beer great Stairs!
- Karis (8/5): - Great hotel but was too noisy throughout the night and early hours of the morning which was disappointing.
- Ian (6/5): - Small room, but had everything needed. Stairs were a challenge but the staff were helpful with our bags. I recommend replacing the pillows.
- Mary (7/5): quirky location with friendly staff - convenient location in the "diamond district" of London. Staff was very friendly, helping my friend carry her luggage up to our room. I also appreciated the complimentary drink at the pub Stairs are quite steep getting to rooms.
- Simone (8/5): -
- Mr IAN (10/5): - Great location easy access to underground
- JACKIE (8/5): -
- Andrei (8/5): -
- Mia (8/5): -
- Rahel (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent for a trip to Wembley - Location is brilliant for what we needed (Oasis at Wembley) so really easy to/from the stadium. Lovely staff on check-in and housekeeping when we bumped into her on check-out. We were even given a complementary drink in the pub too. Room was clean and of a high standard considering it is a pub room. It isn’t really a negative for us, but the stairs leading up to the rooms are very steep and if you’re on the top floor, there are a lot of them, but it is an old building. The lovely lady who checked us in also offered to help us with our bags, which wasn’t necessary, but a nice offer.
- david (10/5): - Loved the location and quaintness of 8 rooms. Room 7 is very spacious and has great light. Bed was comfortable. Just be aware pubs are popular Tuesday to Thursday in the evenings so always a big crowd out front.
- Danielle (10/5): Beautiful pub hotel with the best staff - Beautifully decorated room in a classic well kept pub. Very comfortable bed. And best of all amazing staff! The service here was friendly and very helpful. We had a lot of luggage that they helped store for us as our flight was late that day. Location also very convenient as it's right by the station. Would recommend it to anyone. Just beware for people who aren't as physically abled that some of the rooms have a lot of stairs. I personally didn't mind but just something to be mindful of, perhaps request a room lower down if you don't do stairs.
- Maribel (10/5): - Omg, The One Ton Pub and Rooms you guys are phenomenal. Rooms 100%, Staff 100%, Location 100%. 10 out of 10 if you have a chance to stay here, do it. The pub downstairs makes it so convenient to get a start on hitting the pubs or ending the night and to food was delicious. Loved everything about this place.
- Anastasia (10/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): Great convenient location. Well appointed room. - Great location. Helpful staff. It was a shame the pub was closed during our stay.
- Massimiliao (9/5): - Posizione centrale e personale gentile Scale ripidissime
- Aimee (10/5): -
- ANNETTE (10/5): 'No room at the Inn' but still a great stay. - We booked this pub as it was perfect for a party we were going to. Unfortunately although our email confirmation for the night we wanted was correct and confirmed there was 'no room at the Inn' and there was a mistake and our room was double booked and none other available. However the staff there were brilliant and they got us a room at another of their Pubs nearby and paid for the taxi to get us there and could not do enough to help us - they gave us a discount as well so appreciated they responded to our situation. We were not angry as mistakes happen and we are all human and I have to say we were very happy with staying at the Clerk and Well - it was a beautiful room - only problem being on the top floor with lots of stairs but they helped us with our luggage so all turned out well. Would recommend.
- Michael (9/5): Great stay above a nice pub in central London! - Very comfortable room. Excellent location-close to train station. Well decorated and maintained. Above a pub, which was so good we ate there twice during our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. The tub/shower could use a grab bar. A big step to get in and out. Lots of stairs, which was no issue for us-but some folks could have issues.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Heleen (9/5): -
- Gianpaolo (10/5): -
- Alyssa (8/5): - This hotel was immaculately clean and the style was really nice. We were in the room right above the pub and under the other rooms. It was so noisy. We could hear everyone walking up and down the stairs and the music from the pub. Of course we knew booking a room at a pub would have noises from the pub and luckily it was pretty quiet once the pub closed. It was the noise from the other guests that got to us.
- Maureen (10/5): - We enjoyed our two night stay at The One Tun Pub & Rooms very much!
The building is very old and has a lot of character. We had room 7, which was a nice size & layout. There were a few things that need attention in the room, like lights & the phone not working, but it was very clean & nicely furnished. The room had a king-size bed and A/C, which worked really well.
Anyone booking there should know that there are stairs & no elevator. We knew this, but probably didn't really anticipate the number of stairs or the steepness of them! The staff is great about helping take luggage up & down, but I was glad when I got down the stairs fod the final time!😉
We are very happy that we stayed there, but I think we would probably try somewhere without all those stairs if we ever get to return to London.
I want to give a big shoutout to Elle (sp?) for being so nice & helpful!!!
- Debs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (10/5): Great little Gem - This was a truly unique aka charming place to stay. The entrance is on the side of the bar entrance outside. You check in at the bar. Quiet small bar locals go too. You're in the business district on an off street. No elevator. Small set of stairs that spiral up to whichever floor you're on. We were on the 3rd floor. 8 rooms total. They take your luggage up. The room was nice and decorated. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was great. Just going up the stairs was really quite interesting, and we loved it. We are older and it didn't bother us. If you have mobility issues or use a cane, there isn't any way this would work for you. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Central to the train station which is in walking distance and that gets you everywhere cheaply. Oh and you don't hear the bar at night, and they close at 10pm anyway so there you have it.
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Staff were very friendly and checking in was stress free. The room was a good size, very clean and modern. Location was good - close to the tube station and quiet at night.
- Susan (7/5): Suited our purpose. - Handy for the Elizabeth Line and Wembley. Able to walk to Covent Garden, Holborn, Soho.
Comfortable beds, full sized kettle but no milk. The bar is more of a restaurant but we didn’t eat there. Closes early so no noise.
The room was generously sized, iron and ironing board. Bathroom has everything you need with good water pressure. The stairs are a killer (which we knew about). Fortunately on the first floor. But they’re narrow. We only had cabin sized cases but even so, you’d struggle with full sized ones. We arrived early and our cases were taken up for us which we appreciated.
Only Roman blinds in the room. Whilst lined there is a lot of light which still comes in, curtains would be more effective.
You do hear noise from inconsiderate guests who didn’t appear to know how to close doors without slamming.
- Irving (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Lovely cosy room in a historic building - We really liked our stay in The One Tun Pub! The location was excellent, lots of restaurants and cafés and grocery stores nearby. Big plus for us was that Farringdon station was just 5 minute walk with connections straight to both Gatwick and Heathrow and of course tube lines around the city. The neighborhood felt lively but not too busy.
Our room was cosy, well equipped (coffee maker, kettle and even milk froth maker, ironing board, safety box) and very clean and we appreciated the complimentary water bottles stocked up every day. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- GILLIAN (10/5): - Perfect location for walking to the theatre and close to underground
- Angel (10/5): - Super cute Pub and Inn. We really enjoyed our stay. Water pressure is a bit low in the shower and just a heads up, there's no elevator. Stairwell is a bit steep and narrow, so if you have heavy big suitcases, traveling with children, or elderly, make sure to ask rooms on the 1st floor if possible.
- Danielle (10/5): Perfect stay in London with excellent staff and location - The staff was wonderful at the One Tun - warm, friendly and very helpful. The room was clean, bright and comfortable and the air-con worked well - think goodness since London was experiencing a heat wave when we were there. The location worked out well as the Farringdon tube station was just a couple minute walk away. The food and drink in the pub were excellent as well. I would stay there again and happily recommend the One Tun to anyone traveling to London. The only negative was the very loud sound of bottles/trash being dumped at various times in the early mornings. But that's managable with earplugs or headphones.
- Andrea (10/5): - We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, the staff was beyond lovely, our room was spotless and was fun and quirky.
- Robert (9/5): Loved the room, the adjacent pub. Full of history Greatest location ever. - Everything was great. The scary stairs. Not for older or weaker people.
- Sara (10/5): Lovely place and would stay again. - I loved the beautiful room (with air-conditioning!) and the friendly staff. The pub was great with excellent food. It had loads of character and was very comfortable. Though it was close to the station, which was very convenient! It was a bit of a walk to all the attractions. As a solo traveler, coming up the alley at night—although I was safe and had no incident at all—was a little disconcerting. As is the norm, narrow staircase encourages one to travel light!
- Virginia (9/5): Superb - We were there twice this trip to England. First room wasn't as good as the secondvroom (older carpet, older style toilet, a crack in bathroom window) but otherwise was ok. Second room was great. Staff was wonderful. They helped by carrying luggage up steep stairs and allowed us to store suitcases for two days while we did a trek. Nice pub, convenient location for tube, including Elizabeth line. Clean. Stairs kind of steep. Note this if you're older and have a lot of luggage.
- Robert (8/5): - Good,except fot the stairs
- Virginia (9/5): Superb - Room 3 was a great room. Clean, comfy, included a mini-frig. Staff were excellent. Carried bags for us both up and down fairly steep stairs, keot our suitcases for 2 days while we did an overnight trek. Very accomodating. Location was super...close to.Leather St and Smithfieild Markets, 50 meters from tube including Elizabeth Line for easy Heathow access as well as train line direct to Gatwick. Our first night in Room 5 was a bit worn and overall the room was fairly expensive, typical cost for London however.
- Molly (8/5): Very good - Close to the tube
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (8/5): - Excellent location, very friendly staff had a lovely time. Room wasn’t as clean as it could be.
- Dorsett (9/5): Fantastic - Location and cleanliness
- Peter (10/5): Perfect! - Everything. Great service from the staff, the room was fantastic and the location perfect for CDW
- O (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): - Location is terrific, easy access to transit, very good restaurants nearby. Know that you’re above a pub so lots of noise but they shut it down well at 11:00PM. Staff was great. Very clean. Shower is terrible - almost dangerous- elevated narrow tub with not enough anti-slip and only place to grab is a scorching hot tower bar.
- Cassandra (6/5): - strains on sheets as well holes where they’ve worn through. rooms are a bit tired and could do with a refresh. floor near the side of bed wasn’t vacuumed.
close to the tube however.
- Kristina (8/5): - Quiet rooms with steep stairs. Housekeeping amazing.
