• Carla (5/5): Echte tegenvaller, onbekend met hospitality - Landelijk gelegen Geen enkele gastvrijheid, er was werkelijk niemand om ons welkom te heten en bij vertrek te groeten. Er lag enkel een papiertje met een telefoonnummer. Je moest zelf raden wat te doen. Smaken verschillen maar de inrichting wat wel erg rommelig. Niet werkende lamp op de kamer, een niet besteld kinderbed en nergens iets te drinken te krijgen. Geen handdoeken bij het zwembad.
• Cornelia (8/5): Wir würden dies Unterkunft nicht mehr wählen - Unser Zimmer war sauber und mit schönen alten Möbeln aus gestartet. Die ruhige Lage mir Blick auf Monseraz. Der Garten ist ungepflegt lund entspricht nicht dem Bild. Das Frühstück war nicht besonders liebevoll.

• Melody (6/5): Based on the reviews during booking, we were expected much better. - The hotel location is well situation at Monsaraz. We can feel the spring of the mattress in our room and it was uncomfortable, a lot of mosquitos, got bitten, we probably terminated more than 20-30 of them during the night and the next morning, so I didn't sleep much for the two nights. Sound insulation of the house is poor, we can hear people talking from the lobby a level below us, as well as guests in the same corridor of the floor. The bathroom, the shower curtain is old with yellow color stains, the ring holder is broken, the ceiling light above the mirror doesn't work, the window is not openable.

• msrunner (10/5): Just amazing ! - A large quinta turned into a museum-hotel. One can swim in the pool or wonder along the corridors observing hundreds of well preserved objects from the past, photographs, sculptures, vases. All well kept, perfectly clean, very quiet. Feels like your grandma´s home but with much more privacy ). Three cheers !
• Sabine (8/5): Stilvolle Unterkunft in der Natur mit Blick auf Monsaraz - Wunderschöne Umgebung mit Blick auf See, Hügel, Natur. Viele Sitzgelegenheiten im großen Garten, Pool mit Liegen. Stilvoll mit alten Möbeln und vielen Sitzecken eingerichtetes altes, gründlich renoviertes Haus. Großes Zimmer mit großem Bad und schöner Aussicht. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Gastgeberin spricht sehr gut Englisch. Sehr gute Lage für die Besichtigung von Monsaraz, Wanderungen in den Olivenhügeln oder für einen Ausflug an den Strand des Stausees. Die Sitzgelegenheiten im Außenbereich könnten besser hergerichtet sein. Insgesamt aber sehr schön!

• Sergey (10/5): Uma casa onde nos sentimos bem-vindos. - Muito obrigada, D. Vitória, pelo acolhimento. Gostámos muito e vamos voltar com certeza. Também queremos usar a piscina no verão e falar mais consigo. A casa tem uma história muito interessante. A senhora pode contar essa história, se pedirmos. Quando chegámos, o quarto já estava quente. O colchão era muito confortável. As almofadas não eram muito boas para mim, mas isso é gosto pessoal. A casa de banho é grande e tem boa água quente. O pequeno-almoço foi muito bom. Tudo estava muito fresco. Quando chegámos, ofereceram-nos café, chá e bolachas. Foi muito agradável. Seria bom ter chinelos no quarto, porque o chão é de pedra e é frio. Infelizmente, não trouxemos os nossos.

• Marie (3/5): We left and didn’t stay. - Not what we expected. We left and found a more comfortable kid friendly hotel that also provided food options. No food or drink options for a hotel in the middle of nowhere.
• Nuno (10/5): Excelente fim de semana. Quando podermos iremos voltar e recomendar a amigos. - Gostámos de tudo, designadamente da casa e da propriedade em geral e da simpatia da proprietária. Eventualmente, se possível, melhorar a pressão de água mas também é uma questão de gosto, pois agrada-me muito tomar banho com muita pressão de água.

• RUBEN (10/5): Excelente sitio para descansar y te hacen sentir como en casa, con muchas comodidades y amplias instalaciones - Amplias habitaciones, todo muy bien decorado, atención por su propia dueña excelente, te hacen sentir como si estuvieras en tu casa. Baño muy amplio, muy limpio. Lugar muy acogedor y tranquilo, perfecto para descasar y desconectar, lo suficientemente alejado y a la vez cerca Monsaraz, muy cerca del observatorio. Desayuno bien resuelto y de buena calidad con productos locales de la zona. Nada que mencionar, la estancia fue excelente
• Bettels (9/5): Der Zeck unseres Ausflugs wurde voll erfüllt - Fantastische Lage, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet mit vielen antiken Gegenständen. Ich konnte mein automatisches Teleskop durch die ganze Nacht Aufnahmen von DSOs ( deep sky objects ) ohne Überwachung machen lassen. Wir hatten Neumond und Sterne und Milchstrasse waren. sehr klar Für meinen Geschmack waren die Matrazen zu weich

O quarto de banho era espaçoso,bem arranjado,mas tivemos de pedir um secador de cabelo. Não gostei da iluminação do quarto,e faltava uma cadeira ou sofá confortável.

• Jinghui Lou (8/5): Beautiful, peaceful stay - THe property is a bequtiful farm courtyard. From the window, I could see the castle on the mountain. It was very quiet in the night. The big dipper could be seen clearly at night. Besides, the cat strolling around in the yard was so cute. the bed was not comfortable.

• Andre (10/5): Het was in één woord: geweldig! - De mooie inrichting, de ruime kamer(s), het balkon, het mooie zwembad, de mooie tuin, het uitzicht, de sterrenhemel en de vriendelijke ontvangst en service. De kartonnen bekertjes on de badkamer svp vervangen door glas of plastic en svp enkele haakjes in de badkamer aanbrengen om ondergoed of ander kledingstuk op te hangen. Dat ontbrak.

• Laura (8/5): - Lovely old farmhouse, Sergio was very friendly and helpful. The pool is so nice and deep, and the surrounding area is very beautiful with lots to do. Air conditioning and quiet rooms helped us sleep well A few other options like muesli for breakfast would be nice :)
• Ana (8/5): Optima estadia! Própria para passar momentos agradáveis e relaxantes em família - Limpeza impecável. Simpatia dos anfitriões. Cuidado a arrumação dos espaços comuns, com decoração antiga que inclui peças muito bonitas e muito bem cuidadas. A parte exterior precisa um pouco mais de manutenção, nomeadamente a pintura da casa e respetivos terraços. A não existência de um bar ou restaurante, com refeições ligeiras durante o dia / noite, limita um pouco a utilização do espaço.

• marcelo simão (6/5): - Lugar é maravilhoso, um por do sol incrível. Localização privilegiada. Bastante sossegado. Limpeza adequada, bem cuidado Não existe nenhum contato presencial, somente ao chegar no pequeno almoço, a partir disto não encontra-se ninguém. Somente pelo telefone, Não existe nenhuma possibilidade de alimentação durante o dia. Tem-se que se preparar em comprar no vilarejo mais próximo que fica a 17 km. Não tem um frigobar no quarto. Fundamental ter porque com o calor da região propicia coisas na geladeira. Usamos uma vez o frigobar da sala do pequeno almoço.

A tranquilidade da herdade, as pessoas que nos acolheram muito bem , o pequeno almoço fantástico e a proximidade do castelo de Monsaraz, das praias fluviais e do observatório. E ainda com uma surpresa para as crianças, visitar a megafauna com muitos dinossauros! Maravilhoso para férias em família.

We liked the proximity to Monsaraz and to the OLA stargazing as both were just 5 minutes away. It was a good base for 4 days with day trips to Monsaraz, Evora and Estromoz. We plan on returning for a fall or spring visit. Nothing

• Julia (9/5): Great location, room and property 4 minutes drive from spectacular castle village of Monsaraz - lovely garden around property, good sized car park, nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the breakfast room, as other places in Portugal didn't have any such facilities. Host was very helpful, speaks many languages and gave us two excellent restaurant suggestions in nearby village and rung up to make reservations for us. We stayed there in late October so didn't use swimming pool so can't comment on that. You do need own transport to use this place. We should have asked for a room with a more sunny aspect, as in late October sun for someone from England is very important!

• Sara (10/5): I had the perfect weekend :) - The pool place is beautiful, full of shadows which is really something important in Alentejo. The pool water was at 30 degrees and the temperature was close to 40 degrees. The house is full of vintage objects, like old telephones, and writing machines. I found myself searching for old treasures. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The Bathroom was also great. The property owner lives there, so you feel at home. Everything is well decorated. I felt I was visiting family. Breakfast is simple but good,. I recommend going outside late night (around 1h30 -2 a.m. to see the sky. Is beautiful. The only thing I would improve is to have access to the wardrobe (it was closed with a key) and to have some hangers on the wall for the towels / used clothes.

In the end this wasn't such a big deal. We loved it so much we booked another night
