Guest Reviews
- GORDON E. (6/5): - Floor dirty, wet feet made dirty tracks.
- Amanda (2/5): - Toilet didn’t work, blood on pillow cases. Filthy. Terrible stay
- Terry (6/5): - No wifi , go out the door . I wash everything always. But did it again , dirty . Painting rooms , terrible smell , had to change rooms . Beds are too small. Shower , no water pressure . Too hot too cold
- daleaQ3258AK (2/5): Worst slum hole ever seen. - Absolutely terrible. Filthy. Rooms cleaned whenever they feel like it. Mold and bugs everywhere. No hot water. Sheets and towels disgusting. Cigarette burns everywhere, including inside bath tub. AC blows dirty dusty air. Graffiti on fridge.
- Odo (10/5): - Location
- Cole (10/5): - Friendly service
- Susan (10/5): - It was nice for the night.
- Shayden (10/5): - .
- Lorenzo (8/5): - It’s a decent place to stay.
- Shalan (10/5): - Great staff and rooms are comfortable
- Craig (8/5): - Cheep and convenient
- danny (4/5): - The staff was helpful and friendly. The room pictures we misleading as to the quality of the rooms. Clean but stained bedsheets. We would have cancelled and found another place if we could. Realistically, it's half of what we were expecting. And that wasn't much. Not worth the price in my opinion.
- Jodi (10/5): - Excellent Place To Stay Staff is amazing. Great location highly recommended. Thanks for all cheers
- Trevor (2/5): - Absolutely nasty, checked in went into the room for hour and left to another hotel. Lots of drug activity. Do not recommend at all.
- Stevie (10/5): Will be back - It was comfortable
- Nikita (2/5): - very dirty unit, ceiling was falling from water damage, smelt like an ashtray!
- Thomas (10/5): - Very very dirty rooms! And over priced
- Mohamed (2/5): - Not recommending this place
- Christa (2/5): - This motel is dirty and the pictures don’t look like the actual rooms. There are a lot of sketchy people around as well.
- Craig (10/5): - It's in a good location
- Tanis (2/5): - Room had no heat, toilet and tub kept running water. Room wasn’t clean, found earring on bathroom floor and just all around old and dingy. Obvious drug deals happening on property and who knows what else.
- Clinton (4/5): - Room was dirty and poorly maintained
- kathleen (8/5): Good location for what we needed. - This is a very tired property. We checked in the day that new owners were taking over. Some confusion, but I had my reservation number and was given a better price at the desk. The room was clean, but could use some much needed TLC. Hopefully the new owners have plans to do that. We went to Grande Prairie to visit a friend in the hospital. Just needed a clean bed and we got that.
- Henry (8/5): - Best Value
- Phil (4/5): - Crack heads everywhere
- Anke (8/5): Good Place To Stay - I'm a rustic person and was satisfied with this straight forward kitchenette room. The kitchenette was sparse, but the beds and pillows were superb and air conditioning was quieter than most. Everything was functional, location excellent and the price was right. We were even given access to our room early.
- Tori (2/5): - Junkies everywhere
- Kathleen (4/5): - The front desk person was extremely unhelpful, room was not maintained. Would not stay here again.
- Terrance (8/5): - This is a note for Expedia. The motel has removed continental breakfast from their list of amenities but Expedia continues to list it as an amenity.
- Terrance (2/5): - Advertising said breakfast. No breakfast. Beds to be queen size. Beds double size with queen size bed headboards. Smoke detector wrapped with a plastic bag- inoperable
- Lauren (6/5): - This is budget friendly hotel, but there some things that did not sit comfortably with myself.
Bathroom needs a few minor fixes, AC unit needs to be changed out, and the board behind the bed needs to be adjusted a bit to sit against the wall.
Only thing I was comfortable was the beds, and the TV.
Around the property, was a bit concerning as it's a sketchy area, but VERY good area that McDonald's and Tim Horton's was close. Walking distance close.
In the past this hotel was in greater shape.
- Kara (10/5): - I stay offen
- Charles (6/5): - You can only do so much with what you are given. The front office staff was amazing, the room had everything in good working condition. Skip the beauty and go right to raw, it’s a bed, shower and toilet! That’s all that’s is needed!
- Wes (6/5): - The room we had was not very clean beds where hard but the price of the room was the cheapest
- Kyoko (4/5): - No breakfast still due to Covid-19 restrictions!!!
Because of place? night time was very noisy, and someone knocked door at midnight! When other customer used toilet flush, I heard them and very noisy.
- Oshane (2/5): - it needs to be closed dow .
- Jacob (8/5): - Good price and location.
- Wayne (8/5): - This Motel older, but in decent shape, had no problem checking in.
- Katrina (2/5): - This hotel was absolutely disgusting. There was long black pubic hair between the sheets of both beds. When we asked for clean towels, there was marijuana on the towels. Black hairs on the toilet seat. Brown food splattered down the wall in the kitchen area. The battery had been removed out of the fire alarm and the outlet behind the bed was black and looked like it had been fried. When we requested a refund, management was extremely rude and said “how do I know it wasn’t you who did that”.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - All of it
- Bobbie (8/5): - Everything good enjoyed our stay thank you will stay again
- lmccann2282 (4/5): SINGLE ROOM - Quant older Motel!! $75. a night!! I thought I’d
save money!! I was so uncomfortable that I slept on top of the covers and didn’t even bother to bath!!
While I was checking in the Clerk asked if I was expecting a Male visitor? In other words was I a Prostitute? Then she said: If someone knocks on your door in the middle of the night, don’t answer
It. It’s just a Homeless Person!
I booked this Motel on-line!! NEVER, AGAIN!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was ok for the 1 night that I needed, very close to the places I had to visit
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the staff is very nice and helpful the room was clean but the beds and pillows could use an update other than that we slept well and will stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff was friendly room was mediocre and smell like an ashtray I did ask for a smoking room but I didn't want to sleep in an ashtray property seams sketchy, lots of weird people walking around all hours of the night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Im still liking my stay. And ill probably stay longer.
- Andrew (10/5): Weekend in G.P. - The room was perfect for our use, we spent very little time at the property, but it was good for the cost, the non smoking rooms smelled nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): - parking was good=lots of room. it had snowed lots-they had a loader in cleaning it up.
- Britt (2/5): - Room was dirty! Bed and bedding was clean but walls around the stove were filthy. Room had a strong smell of mens cologne that gave me an instant headache. Had to check out and go to a different hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Exactly what you expect for the price. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Durty, no smoke alarm in room even after we reported to front desk and only 1 working outlet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - fridge and microwave liked. no coffee maker and only 1 plug on one side of bed-hard to hook up 2 cpap machines
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Clean room, in shape, great staff, quiet, great stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Non-smoking room had cigarette burns in the sheets and smelled of stale cigarette smoke.
- Agnes (8/5): - Good place and great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenience location, and cleanness. But facility is too old. Toilet flush have problems, and bathroom fan no working.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The front counter staff member was very pleasant. Conveniently located across from the Prairie Mall and close to McDonalds and Tim Hortons.
The bathroom shower around the taps have been poorly repaired in the past. The roof of the microwave needed cleaning.
Was only needing a place to sleep, so for the price it was adequate.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rotten smell.
TV and refrigerator were not working.
- Jeff (2/5): Do not stay here - When we had seen the pictures on the website it was clean. Upon entering the room there were loose tile and big stains on the carpet. The bathroom had not bin cleaned and the bed sheets still had stains and hair from the previous people.
- Stephen (8/5): It worked for me - Older motel but clean and quiet. Some room for improvement in the house keeping service with re supply of soap shampoo and clean hand towels (stayed 11 days one day didn’t resupply shampoo, another day hand soap and another day forgot to leave Face cloths day hand towel) but not that serious
- Jennifer (6/5): Just Okay - Check in was nice, but sent me to a room that was a mess. Quickly moved me to a made up room. But, walls, doors, and tv were filthy. No coffee in the room. Would not reccomend for business travel. Very dissatisfied.
- Roberta (6/5): Party place - Good location, super price, but too many parties.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff unfriendly, location a bad area but it was cheap.
- 716dominiques (8/5): Clean and Affordable - Me and my family (2 children) stayed here last night and room was clean and nice. Its somehow needs an upgrade but for its price, its a good deal already. Will recommend for those people who are not too picky.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff is not friendly. Someone was knocking the hotel doors and I heard one of the staff telling her stop doing that and the lady said to her call the police if you want. It’s weird
- Jonathan (6/5): I have never been treated this way - Well I only used Expedia to get the room because the bundle of joy working the desk told me all of the rooms were full. After I booked it online she kept trying to make excuses to not give me a room that ranged from no pets (we have none) to saying we were only allowed to have two people in a room (it’s just my girlfriend and I). She then tried to accuse us of being messy dirty people and they have to throw out the towels after we use them. Checking in took over half an hour because I had to debate with the staff over giving me a room which I had already paid for online.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Better than sleeping in a car - Our room was listed as a 2 bedroom + kitchenette, but it was one room. This would’nt have really bugged me but when I booked the room, a solo room with 2 beds was also listed for cheaper. There were burns in our bedsheets. The towels were really small and there wasn’t soap when we got there. No idea where the continental breakfast was supposed to be. They did have wifi though, which I immediately used to search how to check for bed bugs (they didn’t have any). Still not an awful stay, but they definitely have room for a little care in their work.
There’s a lot of hotels / motels in this area, I feel I definitely could have gotten a better one for a better price. But if you’re just goin to town here to get loaded / sleep without caring about where you stay, this is probably okay enough.
- Dannie (4/5): No sleep - Loud no sleep partyers all night into morning
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not happy.
! - The stairs on the outside were covered with snow so badly that my husband fall down them. In the room the bathroom sink kept moving when in uses plus it leaked so we had to put the garbage can under it. Last the toilet had dried pee on the back. Not happy at all!!!
- Pet Lover (4/5): Freezing Cold and a Smoking Room - I PAID IN ADVANCE for a Non-smoking room and added in the notes that we would be bringing our dog! The night before when I phoned to confirm apparently they hadn't checked the notes about the dog! We ended up with a SMOKING room! The clean bedding had cigarette ash holes. The room was freezing cold and cold air literally blew in around the door!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Decent value, convenient location.
- Michelleelizabeth90 (2/5): Motel needs some serious upgrades! - When I walked in and saw the pink bed, honestly I was so turned off. Some upgrades sheets and maybe your heat to be working would make this place at least stay able. I walked into the room
And walked right back out. When I went to ask for a refund the lady at the front desk asked if I had used the bed.. gross.! Don’t stay here
- 226wayneb (10/5): Sir - Very cheap but nice clean mostly modern some old features 80% new great price 69 $ when everyone else is charging 150 to 250$ all in all a good nights sleep comfy bed good size television Refrigerator extremely new and clean bathroom
- Canadiansafar (2/5): absolutely horrible motel- NEVER AGAIN! - I'm not even sure were to start. I realize this is a "bargain" motel but i still believe the basic necessities should be offered. My husband stayed at this motel for work... he was their all together 6 days and out of those six days he went without heat for three of them, and no power for one. Its the dead of winter and the room was freezing. He went to the front desk to tell them it was below 10 degrees in the room, the hotel manager went into the room touched the pipes and said nope, its all good. Another day with no heat goes by and he again complains to the front desk and they give him a space heater. Im sorry, but its -25 in GP a spaces heater isn't going to cut it. Finally i call the front desk to ask if he can be moved to a new room or something done about it... My husband comes back to the motel after work only to be asked to leave. SERIOUSLY! apparently asking for heat is ground to be kicked out of a motel. The manager is RUDE and belittling to people. DONT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! pay the little extra money and get someone that has HEAT and has a clean room!
Apparently the owner lives in Vancouver, maybe they should take a trip to their motel and see how things are being run. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
- Chokchai2006 (8/5): Good hotel to stay while visiting - Big, clean room with full size fridge, stove, sink and dishes
Very good motel staff
Good selection for continental breakfast
Tim Horton & McDonald's next door , good home cooking restaurant half block away
- Freakester (2/5): Worst hotel in GP. - In my first room I had to fight to get the taps fixed for a proper shower. The rooms were dirty to say the least, stains running down the bathroom wall, smells like urine, crack heads stealing from vehicles, No help from front desk( Who wears a mask to cope with the odors etc) The kitchenette had 1 burner working. So old all the cupboards were made of vintage steel. Only 1 star because of location
- 348jenp (6/5): You get what you pay for. - I picked this hotel because it was one of the cheapest, but not the cheapest motel on the site I used. We read reviews that were not favorable but decided to stay there anyways. There was a lot of rowdy talking but it quieted down before 11. The wifi was non existent though which sucked.
Really, it was cheap but it wasn't the worse place I have stayed at and paid more for.
- 766teddya (2/5): HORRIBLE!!! NEVER STAY HERE! - People screaming and yelling all night. Police show up and they got kicked out. Came back at 5:30am and continued yelling, swearing and slamming doors. Called the front office no one helped.
No refund. No discount. Wouldn't let me talk to the manage. Front desk clerk didn't apologize or ever cared. Never ever stay here.
- littledrummerman (2/5): Nasty - The room reeked of smoke, the walls and everything within were dingy and foul, ripped chairs, sticky and chipped furniture. Even for a smoking room (as they had none others available) our room was extremely run down, poorly maintained and poorly aired out. If this is your only option ONLY consider a non smoking suite
- 925lightning79 (8/5): Nothing wrong with it - Yes, it's cheap, bare-bones, and old on the inside of the rooms. But if you're looking for a place to lay your head for a night, I don't see anything wrong with this place. The room was clean, the internet worked very well, and the front-desk service was good. The colours in the room are rather dated, and there was the odd mark on the counter, but still, I'd stay here again if I was looking for something quick and easy.
- sharkyh2o (4/5): If it's your only option, your not paying and you have ear plugs - The hotel that our company normally puts up in while we are in GP was fully booked, as were most other options in town at the time. So to the Silver Crest we went.
If you are looking for the definition of a crack hotel, then this would certainly qualify. The head boards had cigarette butt burns, the mattress has unidentifiable stains, UFC in the parking lot in the middle of the night are classic signs that one doesn't want to stay here. The level of noise from other rooms was so bad, I slept with ear plugs.
Need less to say I didn't stay a second night. The only reason I didn't give this hotel a one star or terrible rating is that I didn't get a rash from the bed.
- jenne2014 (2/5): Gross, discusting, smelly, LOUD and noisy - Hi, me and my boyfriend went and stayed there on Feb 15th/2014 It was a weekend get away for my birthday. We thought we'd pick this one cause neither of us have any credit cards. The front desk lady was nice but when we got into out room it smelled pretty funky and the décor was pretty weird. There was a giant hole in the bathroom where the tub met the wall and there was cigarette burns in the bathtub stained there which I thought was pretty nasty. The towels were to small and there wasn't enough pillows or towels. We got set up in the room and went into town for something to do. When we got back from bowling and decided to relax, watch some tv. That was all fine and dandy till we decided sleep was in order. At around 11:30 we went to bed. I could not sleep for the life of me for so many reasons, They had the heat cranked up to the highest I swear, There was no way of opening the windows and no way of controlling the heat ourselves. I literally had to open the door at 2am to get some air inside. Upstairs there was a large and very loud party. There was screaming, yelling, banging around, etc. As well there was a train that came through town 4 times that night and of course was letting us know it was there. AS WELL on top of that there was honking of horns, someones car alarm was going off literally all night. I can honestly say it was the worst experience of my life. I am no drama queen but I expect that the hotel staff would have done more about it. Just terrible. We tried telling the staff when we were checking out but all we got was "really?" and "oh we didn't hear it" No apologies, No discount, No nothing. I would never, ever recommend going there for anyone. Maybe if you wanna rent a nasty hotel to party in and be loud..thats fine but not if your trying to sleep and have a nice time.
