• Fay (7/5): A very memorable experience - The hotel is nearer to the shopping mall.. The staff are very friendly. They hangout with my husband and dad outside the hotel also talking about their culture. The Airconditioner in my room (310) needs to be servicing..cause it's not cool at all..it's warm..many times adjusting the temperature..but still the same

• Retasuneta (7/5): - Only few steps to the mall..fantastic. The staff is friendly. The bathroom drain is clogged, the water is draining slowly and become dirty. Also the cigarette smoke from the sidewalk can be detected up to the 5th floor since we stay facing to the front.

The way they breathe thru you. They never smile . The two guys there when I checked out didn’t even ask how was my stay or care to open yo door or offer any sort of help with my two luggage bags. Not worth the price bc of terrible attitude by staff..

• Carol-Anne (10/5): - The staff are so friendly, polite and helpful. I had arranged a pick up but my flight was delayed by over an hour. I managed to let them know and when I arrived at the airport the lovely young man from the hotel was there waiting for me. They let me change my room as the first one was near the lift and due to being a light sleeper moved me to a room further away which was perfect. The room was clean and the bed super comfy. If I ever travel back here would definitely stay again 😊

Close to mall and airport We requested non smoking rooms but were given smoking rooms. Said they could not accommodate us. The hot food at breakfast was cold, even the tea and coffee. Sheets were stained

• Tonino (2/5): No good and not meet up with the expectations - Eggs for breakfast Please don’t bother coming to this hotel, the hotel is a broken as the road and footpaths, the towels and bed linen is old and tatted and smelly, and showers smell like the rivers and waterways around Balikpapan.Do not be duped by newly renovated! The place is not to a western standard, and should be rated as one star. Honestly, the only thing good about this place is breakfast eggs as they were hot cooked and location is good. The rest of the food sits in Bain Maries and is cold. If you don’t have a well seasoned Indonesian stomach then you may experience food poisoning. I do not have a silver spoon in my mouth and travel extensively throughout Indonesia and can expect some low standards, but honestly do not bother coming to this clapped-out old hotel despite whatever the is being advertised.

• Yu (9/5): Excellent value for money - - Room was of decent size, very clean, and very comfortable - Water pressure and water temperature of the shower was excellent. Shower head was also sensibly angled inwards so the dry area remains dry. - Availability of drinking water dispenser in the corridor - Excellent location - Courteous and honest staff who reached out to inform after we checked out that an item was left behind - There was some renovation / painting works going on in the lobby so the lobby didn't look so welcoming. Air condition in the lobby was also switched off. - There were some problems with the key cards. The staff was having difficulty setting up the key cards and it took a while. - Only 1 passenger lift. - No luggage rack in the room which makes it a bit tough to find a spot to open up luggages that are larger than cabin-sized. - Room towels were rather haggard, time for a change...

I had to wait 5 minutes for the elevator to get from the 3rd floor to the lobby. The street noise comes through the closed windows. I would have expected more from a hotel in the ASTON group for this high price.

• Cl (7/5): Good value for the price we paid (S$20+ per pax per night) - The staff were really friendly, hospitable and you could tell they were professional & doing their best. The hotel is functional, nothing fancy, but our room was clean and housekeeping did their job very well. Sewage smell was strong in the toilet and sometimes even seeped into the room. Maybe the hotel needs some renovation renewal.

Hotel was quiet despite busy location. Shower was great. Wifi was great. Located in semi segregated upscale downtown shopping district. To get in the area parking fee required even for taxi pick up! Breakfast although had choice was disappointing with disgusting coffee and no refill on many of items running low (even the milk when pointed out to staff).

• Manggaaas (8/5): Overall I'd recommend anyone to stay here. - Perfect location. Close to the beach, shopping centre, airport and other public places. The price was reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was cleaned properly. Not so many options available for breakfast. The rice was dry and overcooked. Somehow the fruits didn't taste as fresh as I thought. Or maybe just me.

• Tineke (9/5): Great for a few days rest before our intense extended jungle trek. - . Across from the great amll with many inexpensive dinner options. Traditional Indonesian breakfast was very yummy. Many hotel guests were young mine workers on their days off. They were all excedingly clean, polite and quiet. We saw no other foreigners while staying for 4 nights. The hotel staff was very helpful with limited english, but always better than my Indonesian. We would ckoose this again. Can't really remember anything I did not like. The website is very clear on that there is no gym or pool and pictures were accurate.
