Guest Reviews
- nathalie (10/5): Bonne adresse - Très bon accueil, hôtel familial, très bien
- Justin (8/5): - Lovely Parisian hotel in a great lively area
- GREGG (6/5): - shower was super small, you could hear the person talking in the next room and lady mentioned the breakfast was complementary until I saw the bill and always bring a WASHCLOTH.
The one redeeming quality it's only a 15-20 min ride from Paris.
- nathalie (10/5): Hôtel familial - Nouvel An à Paris. Très bon accueil, ambiance chaleureuse et familiale
- Yves (6/5): - Hôtel quelconque. Heureusement que le personnel est sympa.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Süße Einrichtung, leider sehr dünne wände sodass man nachts alles hört
Chambre spacieuse, literie parfaite.
- A (6/5): - My return flight was at CDG and I wanted to be in town the night before. This property met my basic need for a bed and a shower.
The location is a good walk to the Metro and a refresh for everything is probably will improve the overall experience. If you want to save a few dollars and don’t mind the wall and older property then you can put this one on your list.
- david (10/5): Fabulous base for Paris vist - From the moment we arrived we knew the Hotel Verlaine was an ideal place for our visit to Paris. Elodie gave our party of 6 a great welcome and offered lots of information and suggestions during our stay. The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. Our room was facing the street with a pleasant view and we did not find any problem with noise.
The breakfast selection was more than adequate and plentiful, with Elodie very attentive in making sure everyone had enough tea or coffee. The hotel was only a 5 minute stroll from Place d'italia metro which has great connections to all of the city.
We would all certainly recommend Hotel Verlaine as a base for a Paris visit. Thank you to Elodie and the rest of the staff for such a welcoming visit.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Stuff unlocked the door and brought another customer to my room
- Berns (8/5): - Close to everything.Bathroom was too small though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hostess was very personable and helpful . She offered directions, restaurant recommendations and personalized breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value and very friendly - Such a friendly welcome and very helpful receptionist. Hotel very good value and I would recommend unless it’s hot, which it was when we stayed. There is no air conditioning so the room was unbearable. The hotel did its best with a fan but it just wasn’t enough to cope with the heat.
- Adeline (10/5): A good hotel - My daughter and I had a very good stay. Very clean surroundings. Easy access to everywhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel is in a mixed residential and small retsil commercial neighbourhood. It as as typical of Paris living as one could hope to find.
- Jean-Christophe (8/5): Nouvel an à Paris - Quel accueil !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Exceptionally friendly staff. The room was very compact but clean and the bed was really, really, really comfortable. I was overlooking the street but had no problems with noise - however, it was November!
- Marie-Anne (6/5): - The lady at reception is really nice and should be commended for her welcome. It makes all the difference. The street at the front of the hotel is noisy, so ask for a room at the back when you book.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Colazione fantastica, baguette e brioches appena sfornate! Personale molto gentile!
- Steven (10/5): Everything you would want from a parisien hotel - The fantastic hostess Elodie was wonderfully accommodating as always . Our third time to stay in this perfect location as we find it so convenient to the metro with great connections to all that Paris has to offer. What some may feel this hotel lacks is more than made up for in many ways. We can't wait to be back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to Place d'Italie in Paris. Very kind and helpful staff. Small but clean rooms. No elevator. Complicated access to wifi.
- Christian (10/5): Fantastic stay!!! - The room is perfect for a city trip in Paris. The staff was so extremely friendly and nice, especially the woman at the breakfast! Totally recommend this hotel for everyone who wants to stay in Paris!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Riktigt mysig känsla och bra, serviceinriktad personal.
- louise (8/5): Little gem - We loved staying here. What a great area. Minutes walk from bars and restaurants. 7 or 8 mins from a metro station and on a fairly quiet street. The hotel is a bit old fashioned, didn't bother us, if you're looking for a bit of luxury this isn't your place, if you're looking for a decently priced place to lay your head within the arondisments in a safe area with a choice of places to eat and drink you'd be hard pushed to beat this.
- Verified traveler (8/5): parfait et sympathique - Personnel tres acceuillant sympathique et arrangeant
- REMI (10/5): - Excellent accueil.
- YOAV (8/5): Very comfortable and clean. Helpful reception. - Comfortable, clean and romantic rooms . Near to a metro station with three train lines. Super nice reception and helpful.
Room 14 city view was in good size and clean, I could hear the neighbors and the noise from the street but it didn't interrupt my sleep.
I didn't eat breakfasts but you can choose to eat at the hotel for 7 euros
- John (8/5): close to place d'italie - Lots of bistros and shops Walking distance to metro
Bon rapport qualité-prix. Nous y reviendrons sûrement!
- Jane (10/5): Welcoming hotel in great location - Both the stay and breakfast were excellent value. A little down at heel, but excellent shower, nice to have a table and chair. Very warm, personal welcome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice owner. narrow stair, no elevator, good for young. there are two beds, one queen one tween. looks can contain three people
- Lorcan (10/5): Lovely friendly service and good neighbourhood. - Excellent mid size hotel with rooms larger then expected for Paris, friendly service and lovely village-like atmosphere in the locality. Close to 2 metro lines and Chinatown.
- Eamonn (10/5): Best Value Economy Hotel - Was there for short rugby break and chance to see Paris. Basic, yes. But at exceptional end of basic and superb value. Really helpful, friendly owner.
- Helena (10/5): Great hotel friendly staff - The location was perfect for the conference I was attending. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommended
- Erin (10/5): - Our host was wonderful. She was so friendly, with lots of suggestions. She and the other staff made us feel very welcome.
Hotel is a bit older, no elevator (as is the way in Europe), but the room was very clean and we found the bed very comfortable. It was great to have our own private bathroom.
We loved that it was so close to the Place d'Italie subway station which was great for connecting with quick routes to downtown Paris.
- David (8/5): Get used to stairs - There is no elevator. The staff is great. The breakfast is small. Hotel is in quieter neighborhood. Pretty close to metro station.
- Yunfei (8/5): - Stayed for one night, which was good. The hotel has good location, close to Metro and has a lot of restaurants and shops around it. Good value for money.
- Jon (10/5): Comfortable and Great Value - The owner was very friendly and helpful, she recommended places to eat and see and even printed out directions. the neighborhood was pretty safe and it was easy to get to the Metro stations. Comfortable room, although Wifi didn't really reach level 3.
- Siddharth (8/5): Simple charm in the heart of Buttes Aux Caille - Hotel Verlaine is a small, fairly charming hotel that lies in the heart of the historic Buttes Aux Caille district. Being in the 13th Arrondissement, I found it a lovely walk away from the Latin Quarter - roughly 4kms or so. Elodie at the front desk was charm, professionalism and helpfulness personified, making sure all my needs were met. I've docked a few notches from this rating due to the guy who mans the place at night - he wasn't the most helpful sort, or it might just have been a case of poor communication issues. All things said, a decent and reasonably priced place from which to embark on your Paris adventures.
- Arjay (6/5): Paris - Sep 2015 - Clean Rooms, Easy to find. Wish they have shower curtains. No wifi?
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great Hotel For First Time Visitors To Paris - I stayed at this hotel with a group of 3 other people in the middle of July. It was the first time 3 of us had been to Paris and the one who had been didn't know his way around Paris. We would have been so lost without the help of the owner who also worked there. If she didn't know how to get where we wanted to go, she took the time to Google it for us and make sure we knew how to get there. She was extremely kind, helpful, and accomodating, as were other staff members who helped us. One of our group member's luggage got lost on the flight and they even helped us with calling the airport and airlines to try to figure out what was going on with that. It's also a great location if you want to stay in a quiet (for Paris), non-touristy location that has a nearby metro to connect you to tourist locations, as well as a mall. I'm glad we chose this hotel and would gladly choose it again.
- Neil (8/5): Cheap and Cheerful - Rooms small and basic, but clean. Reception staff friendly and eager to help. Close to a metro station (5 minutes walk to Place d'Italie). Nice bakery just over the road. Went to Disneyland Paris for two days (15 mins on the metro to Gare d'Lyon, then 45 mins on the RER), then a day sight seeing in Paris itself.
- Shel (6/5): Not a great choice - The stay was very cheap, but we got what we paid for. No air conditioning, no screen on the window so we couldn't leave the window open without letting stuff in, no elevator, spiral staircase made carrying bags up and down tricky. Wifi only works in the lobby. You have to leave your room key at the desk everytine you leave. About a ten minute walk from the metro.
