• Aileen (10/5): - All of the staff who work at the Hotel Kontes were extremely helpful. My mom has mobility issues and they were all happy to help her anyway they could. The hotel rooms were pristine and the cleaning staff was very friendly and accommodating. Marisela, at the front desk, would answer all of our questions and helped to organize transportation for us. The hotel was in close proximity to the port, many restaurants, shops, a six hundred year old church and a historical museum. The balcony had a nice view of the town and all the comings and goings. I would most definitely recommend a stay at the Hotel Kontes.

• saronic (6/5): a transit hotel, not for holidays - Location is just by the port, which is very convenient, when arriving or leaving by ferry. Check-in was easy and the receptionist gave us a larger room (with four beds), when we told her that the first room had no space to put anything, even the wardrobe was just full of blankets and pillows. The second room was large, but facing the backside, where the balconies are covered with pigeon droppings. It was cleaned the next day, but the pigeons returned. Bed was comfortable, but the shower cubicle in the bathroom was too small and one could not bend in there, also water pressure was quite weak. Breakfast is served outside. No buffet, but quite a rich plate is brought to the table. The coffee was not strong at all and we had to ask for extra milk.

No matress protectors om ned, DISGUSTING. Noisy at night time. No charm and Greek style. On the last night the hotel filled will acrid smoke!!!

• karin (6/5): - Bij aankomst op de kamer lagen er lange haren, ook in de badkamer. Na melding werd er gedweild. Ontbijt en bediening was matig. Slappe filterkoffie en geen keus in ontbijt. Ontbijt is standaard. Beter is om een keuzelijstje te maken waarop je aangeeft wat je wilt hebben. Omdat ik aan een croissantje genoeg heb wordt de rest waarschijnlijk weggegooid. Voedselverspilling!
• Stay57712440016 (4/5): Not best - Hardest mattress, Noisy rooms, no soundproofing or maybe we were just unlucky having couple groups of girls laughing and shouting to each other till past midnight But worst was strong smell of sewerage in bathroom, enough make feel sick. It was late evening check in and straight out to get food so didn’t open bathroom door. By time we came back and opened bathroom door there was no one on the desk so couldn’t ask to change room. Good position for port

• Kamila (8/5): Good, comfortable, good value for price - Room was comfortable. We booked very last minute due to missing our ferry back to Mykonos. Beds were comfortable, room temperature was comfortable too. The bathroom had a very strong sewage odor. We had to close the bathroom door so the smell wouldn’t swarm the room. Decent for price we paid.
• Mina (2/5): - The photographs were a bit misleading when I booked this hotel. The hotel lobby was cluttered and very dirty. I didn't even want to sit on the hotel lobby couch because of how dirty it was. It was not welcoming or inviting. There were a lot of travellers who were constantly dropping their bags there and picking up their bags so it was chaotic and loud. The breakfast was very little and it was horrible. Not only that, the person serving the breakfast was extremely rude. On top of this, the floor was super filthy, there were a lot of garbage and dirt on the floor. It's always windy in Paros so the wind blew off the dirt from the floors and all the dust and dirt went into my orange juice and tea, which was disgusting. The photographs of this hotel on Expedia, Google, and Instagram make it seem as if it's a very nice modern hotel. However, the elevator, lobby, hallways, the washroom, shower , etc.. were extremely outdated. The washroom had the smallest sink and the tiniest shower, which made it very uncomfortable to shower. The cooling system in the room didn't even work properly with the remote and so we had to open the balcony door to turn off the AC (how crazy is that?) The room was either freezing cold or too hot due to the the fact that the AC system wasn't working properly. The only positive aspect about this hotel is its location to be honest, because it was close to the port and shopping areas.
• eveb841 (10/5): An amazing hotel - We stayed in the lovely Hotel Kontes recently for 3 days. I could not recommend the hotel more. The rooms were amazing. The staff were so helpful. There was one member of staff in particular who made our staff even better. Her name was Gillian. She provided us with so much information and assisted us where she could. I could not recommend this place more. And it is in such a close proximity to the port and bus terminal.

For details, keep on reading. Thank you for your interest. Expectations… We had built great expectations on Hotel Kontes by reading some reviews and lookig at the photos of the hotel, and by some very nice e-mail exchanges…but we were immediately disapointed upon arrival. My wife and I arrived in Paros early in the morning, after a night flight from Barcelona, getting a connection flight in Athens and picking-up a rented car at Paros airport. The island greeted us with a warm, sunny, brilliant morning! All was running perfectly well! … and Disapointment And then, we dropped our luggage at the corner next to the hotel, and we immediately realised the Hotel Kontes we were standing in front of was, and was not, the one we had seen online and had booked for our vacation in Paros. We were exhausted from the night long travels and could not believe what we saw. The hotel was not really first line in front of the harbour, but hidden beside a corner, the sea could only be seen from the alley to the enttance… The reception was unwelcoming. There was a stange perfume floating on the air. Our room was not ready yet (we had asked for an early check-in, which could not be guaranteed due to the hotel being fully booked). We could not stay at the reception to rest. There is not a nice hall a to relax… Worst of all, the much-desired breakfast existed only in photos. Breakfast The hotel has no restaurant nor a coffee-shop, and the breakfast the hotel includes in their offer is a totally unappetizing pre-set continental breakfast, with filtered coffe. That breakfast is offered at the terrace of the neighbouring restaurant, and there is no possibility to change the set menu, exclude it from the booking or get a refund. Yes, the terrace you see on the hotel website does not belong to the hotel… Since that breakfast upon arrival was not paid for in the reservation, we went for a proper breakfast at the hotel Oasis, right in the corner overlooking the harbour and the opposing Krios beach. Luck The Oasis Hotel staff, led by Maria, was so welcoming and simpathetic that we even checked if they would have a room for us. We were lucky, for they had a vacancy, and we could start in a standard room and then move to a room with a sea-view!!! Is there a way out? After finnishing breakfast, we returned to Hotel Kontes to check for the possibility to cancel our reservation, and ready to accept a penalisation. It was June 28th, a Friday early in the morning, and demand was high, so we expected the hotel would not be much damaged No-way!!! We would have to pay for the whole booking of four nights. The receptionist claimed not to be entitled to return the money (that, by the way, had not been charged yet against the credit card…) After trying to negotiate a way-out, we surrendered and asked to file a complaint, but we were indicated to reach out for the office (in Athens), which would not open until 10 am, two hours later… So the receptionist (Gillian) offered to send a message to the officer in charge to get in touch with us…later. Sea-view? When we had tried to book through Booking, some weeks in advance, we could not find a room with sea-view for our dates, and checked with the hotel for availability. They could not guarantee the sea-view for there was a booking overlap, but maybe… and we finnally booked direct. Some days passed away, there was no indication that we would get a room with the sea-view and we finnally settled for a “deluxe room, flexible rate, breakfast/breakfast” No need to look for the sea-view rooms… there are only two of them in the hotel (so they said), probably always booked. What you see…is what you get! Compliments for the photographer: he or she made a great job making the hotel look just in front of the harbour, by the sea…which it is, but hidden behind a corner…And making Hotel Kontes looking more appealing and warm by far that it is actually. The photo of a nice breakfast table set in front of the harbour…is virtualiy impossible with the current terrace. By the way, the restaurant does not belong to the hotel, nor the breakfast in the photo is what you get included in the price. Ending We finnally stood in the Hotel Kontes, to avoid paying twice the hotel. The room is correct, the bed is not very comfortable (according to my wife). The aiconditioning is noisy, but neccessary. It provided fresh air at night, and also a disturbing light. Since we had already paid for it, we went to try the breakfast…and let it there and went somewhere else, and paid teice for breakfast every morning. We reminded Gillian our wish to get in touch with management, every morning, and she promised to send another message every time. We are about to land back in Barcelona, and we are still waiting for a reply from the office…located in Athens. Paros has been a great experience, much enjoyed, in spite of our poor choice of hotel.

• 1890girl (10/5): Great experience in perfect location - This hotel is super convenient, directly across from the ferry port, near all sorts of restaurants and shops, and within walking distance of a beach and some historical sites. The staff is super nice and our room was large and comfortable. We spent three wonderful nights there and wouldn't hesitate to return.

• ADRIAN (4/5): Very disappointing. - We booked a triple room or deluxe room, but on arrival we’ve been given a small double and an extra metal folding bed. The room had a very distinctive smell probably from the restaurant downstairs. The cleaning lady constantly forgotten to leave us the bed sheets or enough towels for three people. Not recommended.

• Amelia E. (2/5): Unfortunately this listing is not accurate - This is a clean and VERY well-located hotel directly across from the Parikia ferry port. We chose it largely because of the location, which definitely met expectations, but also because of the amenities offered in the listing: "Continental breakfasts are available daily from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM...Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services." However these amenities unfortunately did not exist. After two weeks traveling as a family without laundry access, we had pinpointed this hotel as when we'd finally be able to do laundry for the whole family. Upon arrival we were told there was no laundry and no breakfast, which was certainly a disappointment. There is also no restaurant, bar, or lounge as mentioned in the listing. But the most unfortunate part was the complete lack of communication available prior to arrival. We had messaged the hosts weeks earlier to inquire about check-in details, and then sent a few messages in the days prior to check-in via the Vrbo app as well as the hotel's regular email. We were particularly concerned once our ferry was delayed and we would be arriving close to midnight—would we even be able to check in that late? The prospect of wandering Parikia with our luggage and child was not fun, so we reached out to the central Vrbo team for assistance. They were fantastic and even located alternative accommodations for us in case this hotel was not open when we arrived. Luckily it was. However, to this day we have received no response from the hotel host(s). I would book a different Vrbo if you are considering, this one is not worth the hassle!
• Maroulla (6/5): Okay. - I booked this hotel actually by mistake as I was interested in another in the next street.The room had 2 single beds as. dictated could be given on the site but it was no where near the equivalent to the double in the attached fancy photo.The hotel needs updating as the lobby, rooms and bathroom are dated.The sheets and towels were super clean and the receptionist was friendly.
• David (8/5): Good hotel, plenty of potential - I was only staying one night but the hotel was only a few minutes form the ferry and the staff where very helpful during check in. The room was large and very clean and had three beds in it but part from the beds a tv and refrigerator it was very sparse. You felt the space was wasted and by removing one of the single beds chairs or a settee and table could be added. Overall thought it was a good experience.

• scubamom33 (6/5): Great location- basic hotel - Other than being a stones throw from the ferry port, bus depot and lots of shops and restaurants, the Hotel Kontes offers nothing more than basic accommodation. For a couple of middle aged ladies we found the beds to be the most uncomfortable of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in... springs poking in our backs and rock hard mattresses. The included breakfast comes with delicious Greek yogurt and honey, two slices of bread with jam and butter, coffee and juice Again- very basic. The addition of fresh fruit and pastries would be most welcome. Bathroom is beyond tiny and shower leaks all over the tile floor - be warned as it’s very slippery! Also, this was the only hotel we stayed at on our Greek island hopping adventure that does NOT provide beach towels to guests. Management should change this as who travels overseas with a beach towel in their luggage??? Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
• 698nickh (10/5): Great location for ferries, clean rooms, well-equipped. - Stayed for one night. The owner is Irish-Greek so no problems for English speakers. She was very helpful, showing us room options before we made up our mind. Has a very useful left luggage facility. Literally one minute away from the port. Rooms clean, great shower. Perfect for a one-night stopover.
• Samantha (8/5): - Great location right next to the port and yhe reception staff werr friendly. The rooms are sound-proofed from outside noise but we could hear every little bit of noise that emanated within the hotel itself. There was a stale smell in the reception area but this does not carry through into the rooms. The room was serviced daily but the shower-head was broken and did not work properly. It was impossible to have a proper shower. The balcony area could have done with a clean down every day as given the proximity to the port a huge amount of dust accumulated on the seats provided. A quick wipe down each day would have sufficed. Overall a pleasant stay in Hotel Kontes.

• Daniel (4/5): DEFINITELY not worth the hefty price tag! - The ONLY positive about our stay was the location. We felt we overpaid for our room but thought that since it was the final leg of our journey we would spoil ourselves. The location was excellent, a one minute walk from the port. When we arrived, reception seemed rather indifferent. The hotel itself was not particularly clean. Once in the room, we found it spacious. Once in we found the A/C units barely functional. Wall plugs would pull from the walls and a shower head that was broken and hanging from the stall. However, staff did fix the shower problem immediately after it was brought to there attention. Overall, other than location and room size the 210€ + price tag was definitely not warranted. There are other hotels on Paros that do a much better job for much less.
• R-Teresa12 (10/5): Ideal location - The hotel was the first building I saw when we arrived at the port in Parikia. We stayed in a triple room for three nights in the hotel. The room was lovely and spacious and had a nice balcony. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel is a 10/15 minute walk to Lividia beach and a short walk to the bus stop. I would highly recommend this hotel and it was a brilliant place to stay for our first time in Paros. The lady working on reception (I didn’t get her name) was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back to stay in this lovely hotel.
• unfilteredexplorer (8/5): Central, spacious and great value! - We pulled into Parikia port and were relieved to see the sign “Hotel Kontes” on the building and less than a five minute stroll from the port. We were fortunate to have an early check-in and warm reception. The wi-fi was spot on every single time. Beds were comfortable. Elevator was working well. Room was clean. Nice balcony and the room itself was spacious. I think the best part of this hotel was the location. Close to buses and ferries for Antiparos and Marcello Beach. Plus in walking distance to small beaches near Pariaka. Just a heads up, no kettle in the room but there was a fridge. Also the shower was a little on the small side. Strangely enough I took no photos of this hotel and it was one of my favourites in my Big Fat Greek Holiday. How odd!?!

• Vivichen_lhin (10/5): Perfect Hotel - This is a perfect hotel at the most ideal location if you arrive Paros by ferry. Hotel is just across the street of the ferry terminal. Very convenient when you arrive, just reach the hotel by foot within 2 minutes. Save on transport. Just arrange the rental car to be sent to hotel at the time when you are ready to venture the island - saving time and money. The reception staff was also very easy going, making checking in very swift. I highly recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. It is perfect for family, as it has 2 bedroom configuration. Hotel is clean and new. The only point to note is that hotel does not provide kettle for boiling water. Is this a norm in Europe? Not a big problem because supermarket is just nearby. I'll definitely stay here again if I goo back to Paros.
• H2858DYlorim (10/5): Convenient, nice rooms, and excellent manager - Literally in the middle of the action-packed Parikia waterfront, we enjoyed our easy stay at Hotel Kontes. Clean, spacious, and quiet rooms, right across the road from the ferry. It was great to not have to drag our luggage all around Paros (they even let us store our luggage there after checking out while awaiting our outbound afternoon ferry). The Manager Vana V. could not be more accommodating or helpful. Reservations were easy to make, and pre-trip email communication put us at ease. We opted to have breakfast included in our competitive price. Area is safe, and you are within easy walking distance of incredible restaurants and great shops. We went during the July Festivals, which included free live music, traditional dance, refreshments, & nightly merriment, among the friendly locals and Parikia's hilly and narrow passageways, edged with pretty flowered-filled sea views on-island.
• Eglantine (10/5): Très bon hôtel - Très bon séjour à Hotel Kontes, situé idéalement sur le port qui dessert ferries et bus, même en octobre ! Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux.

• KimberlyP1939 (10/5): Wonderful time! - Our family & friends of 10 ppl could not have been more welcomed and accommodated as we were at Hotel Kontes! Family & staff took great care of everything, from holding our luggage, giving us directions, suggestions, cooking us an awesome authentic Greek lunch/dinner! Our rooms were ready on time, they were spacious, and clean! The Hotel is right across the street from the ferry, easy walking distance! The shops were right around the corner, along with many other restaurants! Walking distance to the beach area as well. Wish we could of stayed longer! Looking forward to going back again soon!
• londonnoww (10/5): Comfortable for one night - This hotel is located just next to the harbour, 1 min from the ferry terminal. Very convenient if you arrive/ leave with the ferry. Hotel is clean, fresh, have brand new air condition. It has an amazing TV with all the channels (sky). We had one room with a small balcony overlooking the street and one big room with a shared balcony overlooking the seafront. Breakfast is simple but good( tea or coffee, yoghurt, bread with jam/butter and ham/cheese. The breakfast is served on the terrace in front of the hotel, with view on the harbour. This is the equivalent of a premier inn in UK
• nefeliban (8/5): Great location, spacious room but the cleaning services could be better!! - The hotel is conveniently located nearby the port of the island. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They responded instantly to all our emails prior to our arrival. The room was recently renovated and spacious for 3 guests. Our only problem was that during our 4-night stay the bedding was never changed. Overall, that's a very good hotel, great location, good views of the port but the cleaning services could be improved.
• Manzar (10/5): THE BEST HOTEL IN PAROS,close to port & everything - We are leaving this beautiful hotel after 4 nights stay. Since I told them it is our first time in Paros and it is our 25th anniversary, they upgrade our room without charging us. They are so nice , we feel we are leaving our friends just in 4 nights stay. for sure we will be back to the hotel again and again and for sure we will recommend them to everyone . I like to thank; Pavlos Mpalkas ( owner ), Lyudmyla Antonova( Restaurant ) and our wonderful housekeeper; Eleana Prifti. Please keep up the good work . BTW, their homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner which is being prepared by Pavlos Mom is die for... Goodbye Hotel Kontes , we will miss you guys .
• Marika (10/5): A 2 passi da tutto - Hotel a 50 metri dal porto. Posizione perfetta per Parikia e comunque silenzioso Camere nuove e pulite. Letti comodi. Il prezzo pagato era assolutamente a buon mercato per questo hotel e per godersi la cittadina. Stazione dei bus e barca per le spiagge a pochissimi passi. Ristoranti di tutti i tipi proprio sotto casa. Ci ritorneremo.
• mary (6/5): served our needs - the hotel was by the port ,a noisy area but as we were there for 4 days for a wedding this didn't bother us ,easy to locate with many shops around ,the hotel itself is basic but very clean and the staff very helpful ,we paid for breakfast which was disappointing ,you got given no choice ,yogurt an honey bread and jam ,2 of the days a piece of cheese and ham were added ,coffee and juice ,I had breakfast but my 13yr old grandson refused after the first day and I took him elsewhere to eat ,ive had continental breakfasts included for free ant many greek hotels and they were great ,this was basic ,the cleaning lady was a joy always happy and helpful ,ok hotel if its a short stay
• Ariella (6/5): Nice hotel close to the port and to the center. - Big room and beautiful position. breakfast so and so... always the same thing....in any case I suggest to take the breakfast because it is expencive on the other bar (8/12 euro.)

• Michael (10/5): Centralt när till allt i Paros center/hamn. - Nära till hamnen 30m. Bra rum och service. Frukosten kunde vara bättre om man värdesätter detta.
• Rebecca (8/5): Perfekt lokalisasjon - Flott lokalisasjon rett ved havna, og nær hovedgatene i byen. Merket ikke noe støy hverken fra havna eller gatene. Enkel standard, men noe lite bad med dusjforheng. Greit hotell i forhold til pris.
• Keely (8/5): Clean hotel with basic amenities - Clean hotel with basic amenities conveniently located next to the port. We were very satisfied. We arrived early around 10am and the hotel stored our bags until the room was ready while we walked around the town. The AC was nice and cold, breakfast was continental style - yogurt with honey, bread & jams, slice of ham & cheese, coffee/tea, juice. Clean towels are provided every other day which was quite alright just wish we were told that at check-in. Parikia was a very nice town for shopping and dining. Also took the bus to Naousa for shopping and dinner, and Pounda Beach for a fantastic day at an organized beach with chairs, bar, & swimming in the sea & pool.
• Cynthia (10/5): Great hotel right at the port - If you want to stumble off the ferry and into your hotel room, or just be in the heart of restaurants and shops, this is the place for you. Clean, well managed. I don't know about all the rooms, but ours had the funky Greek shower, so be prepared to either learn how to shower Greek-style, or get lots of water on your bathroom floor! Really lovely place.
• YEN YEN (8/5): A decent and central hotel - + decent hotel, very near the port and town, clean and spacious, continental breakfast included, near central bus station - no kettle for boiling water - weak water pressure
• Jenny (8/5): Good, location - Nice spacious room but do not have any view of the seaside. The hotel is under renovation and is noisy and difficult to walk through the main entrance. .No breakfast served in the hotel and was told to walk over to another cafeteria for our continental breakfast which is good. Staff is friendly too.
• Dale (8/5): Great location and clean hotel - Great location straight over the road from the port. Easy check in and spacious clean room. Would stay again.
• shiv (8/5): Hotel close to the port - The rooms were spacious and clean. Location is right opposite to the port. There was construction work going on in the early morni g that woke us up. No break fast available. We had to look around and struggled for a decent breakfast.
• VASILIKI (8/5): Μια ευχάριστη διαμονή,ιδανικό για ξεκούραση - Το δωμάτιο ήταν καθαρό και το προσωπικό πολύ εξυπηρετικό.
• Peter (8/5): Nice Hotel close to the port - Convenient location, close to the Port of Paros - Pariekia. Ideal when arriving or departing by ferry as you only need to cross the road to the hotel entrance. Also handy if visiting the well known Greek Orthodox Church - Panagia Ekatontapylliani. Located only 200metres from the hotel which is a must visit for the island. Overall hotel is well presented - clean and tidy. The staff were polite and helpful.
