Guest Reviews
- Karen (8/5): - The room was clean but limited options for food nearby. We just stayed here after doing the large flea market nearby and then drove to NYC to board our cruise.
- Theresa (10/5): - Breakfast was great. The staff helped us find a great restaurant nearby, on a Monday. Everyone was helpful.
- Kristi (10/5): - We loved our stay!!!!
The room was large and very nice!
The bar was so much fun, with entertainment!
- Craig (6/5): - Room was nice enough but the internet connection was really poor and the TV channel selection was very limited. Definitely appreciated the continental breakfast.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Beautiful property and comfortable accommodations!
- Lori (8/5): - The room was very nice - spacious, comfortable. Only problem: could hear the guest walking around above me on the 2nd floor.
The restaurant is very pretty. Problem: I could hear everything being said in the kitchen. The meal last year was excellent. This year, the special entree (red snapper) was oversalted and the soup was mediocre.
- Patricia (10/5): - I surprised my husband after we dropped our son off at college and brought him back to where we were married 34 years ago. We were overwhelmed with joy to find the Curry Estate had been lovingly restored to the historic inn's original beauty. We also enjoyed our delicious dinner and highly recommend Restaurant Six. The bar provided a fun time with great local entertainment.
- Brian (10/5): - Very lovely property and excellent staff
- Kim (8/5): - It was a very nice stay!
- Diana (10/5): - Beautiful spot in an old estate. The grounds were lovely and we enjoyed the bar and restaurant.
- Martin (10/5): - Nice Staff
- Justin (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Maria (10/5): - Romantic setting. Continental breakfast is really enough food to call it a more than full breakfast. Welcoming and down-to+earth staff.
- GLEN (10/5): - I always stay there. Absolutely a gem
- Jens Allan (10/5): - Absolutely Beautiful Grounds. The staff, especially Ginger and Darin were wonderful, personable and made us feel we were home.
We also met Kathleen, one of the owners and that was a treat; since the six sisters photographs are featured within the establishment. Overall review A+
- Norah (10/5): - Vassar visitors: stay here! Le Chambord is comfortable and well-maintained. It is a historic property that has clearly been well kept by the Curry sisters! The bedroom was HUGE - furnished beautifully with a desk, dresser, couch, chair, mini-fridge, closet, and a king sized bed. The bathroom was fabulously renovated with a new shower, floor tiles, and countertop.
The parlor has a beautiful chess board and Scrabble set - we sat and played in the morning.
The continental breakfast was enough - good coffee, tasty pastries, yogurt, and some fruit. Nothing fancy but enough to start the day with! We did not stay for the full restaurant experience (Sunday breakfast at 12).
I would definitely stay here again.
- Andrea (10/5): - All staff were friendly and helpful. My room was well appointed and large. The grounds were quite beautiful. I had a lovely time.
- Avram (10/5): - Very nice place
- Michael (10/5): - Great hospitality and meal!
- William (10/5): - This is a lovely place. It has a great charm with its wood staircase and furniture. I would stay again. And the bar in the restaurant was very nice.
- Melody (10/5): - Fantastic stay! The king deluxe room was exceptionally comfortable and clean! The show stopper was the dinner at Restaurant Six! Incredible service, good and old world ambiance. Must not miss dinner there!
- Judie (10/5): - We always have an amazing time at Curry Estates! Everyone is so loving and accomodating! They meet all our needs and always have a smile on their faces. The owners come around to talk to everyone and they pitch in to help! It is our go to place to relax yet have fun!
- John (8/5): - This is a nice place to stay. A classic inn nicely decorated for the holidays.
Includes a continental breakfast but the quality of that is marginal at best.
Some attention to details needed. Arrived to a pitch black mud and gravel parking lot (lights not on at 6pm).
Well run the property has great potential. Locals say the restaurant is very good.
- William (10/5): First time but sure to not be the last! - First time staying as we had a party with relatives nearby. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The bar is quaint and cozy with an outstanding bar tender. We had some great drinks and bar food was tasty!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The restaurant is excellent.
- Emmie (8/5): - We stayed for a quick night. Check in was easy and room was large with clean bath. The beds were very comfortable. We ate at the Restaurant, delicious.
- Charles (10/5): - Will definitely be my go to accommodations when traveling to the area.
- Calvin (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Staff were incredibly helpful, even offering to go get pizza for us, as were on a biking trip and nothing was open to deliver. First rate.
- Neil (10/5): - What could be bad? It is a beautiful old estate in an area of rolling hills, lots of greenery, very peaceful, with A homegrown staff of attentive and lovely friendly hosts.
Highly recommended!!!!
- Lori (10/5): - Room is old-fashioned in a charming manner while the bathroom is 21st century and the bed is comfortable. The restaurant is top-notch; some of the best food I've had anywhere.
- Vicki (10/5): - This was a lovely stay for myself and two friends. The rooms were exquisite, comfy and took us back in a refined time. Everything was perfect including the light breakfast in the beautiful dining area. We met one of the owner sisters and she was warm and welcoming.
We are thinking of making another visit to the area and will definitely recommend this stay to our friends and for ourselves.
- Vicki (10/5): - It was nostalgic and relaxing. Beautiful foliage on the grounds and the rooms we amazing. The restaurant and seating areas were nostalgic and warm. Could see just coming and kicking back there to explore surrounding areas. Staff and family members we met were helpful and interesting. Definitely worth a trip back.
- David (8/5): - Beautiful, well-appointed room in a quiet setting.
- Marina (10/5): - Staff was gracious and polite. Room was very clean and well-designed. Breakfast was generous and nicely presented. Overall enjoyed our stay very much!
- Vivien (8/5): - Friendly staff and beautiful small property. Incredibly charming estate. Had a decent night sleep, but walls are thin. Could hear the couple above us.
Rooms were cute but dated, had quite a bit of bugs in the room without any windows opened. Shower couldn’t close properly so floors flooded after every shower, toilet was old so it clogged during our stay. Breakfast was ended and cleared out 30 minutes before the time we were told it was supposed to end, we were quite disappointed and so were some other guests we bumped into on our walk to the main building. Just not worth the price we paid.
- Erica (8/5): - Restaurant is amazing. Rooms are so neat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing! - Fabulous place to stay, sad it was only for 1 night, looking forward to staying again
- Michael (8/5): - Very nice
- Marcia (10/5): - Staff members were extremely welcoming and friendly. Nice restaurant.
- Maria (8/5): - Great night out.
- Thomas D (10/5): - Fourth time here, I believe. Rooms are large, clean, nicely kept and the common areas decorated tastefully. Good mattresses and bedding! Super friendly staff! What more can you ask?!?
- Robert (10/5): - Amazing stay
- Samantha (8/5): - Property was beautiful. Lovely setting. Room could have had more lighting/lamps. Outdoor areas less enjoyable due to constant nearby traffic.
- Fabien (6/5): - Nice and quiet location. Unfortunately, the room was very noisy (AC unit right by the window).
- Debra (10/5): - Lovely hotel with the feel of a bed and breakfast. Wonderful friendly staff both at the hotel and the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was outstanding!
- A koren (10/5): - Beautiful property! Huge rooms with the southern charm! I’m a bit short so it was difficult to get in the bed. Room had nice view of the event space. No elevators for the 2nd floor.
- Ivy (10/5): - Lovely place!
- Remi (10/5): - Relaxing property with a fine restaurant. A little off the Empire State biking trail, so a nice place for a stop over. We will come back.
- Imran (10/5): - We always like to keep coming back. Love the location and friendly staff. 😊
- Edward (8/5): - No live TV. Requires membership for any connection.
Wonderful restaurant on premises.
Large comfortable room and bed.
- Connie (10/5): - Lovely ambience, friendly staff, comfortable accommodations!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Mother/Daughter weekend - Did a mother/daughter weekend and stayed in the double room. Room was charming, spacious and very clean. After a long day of sightseeing it was nice to be able to walk next door to the pub/restaurant for a bite to eat. Enjoyed an amazing dinner and a nice glass of wine by the fireplace. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely book again if in the area.
- Richard (10/5): A Study in Excellence - This was a combination anniversary and horse show weekend. Room 20 was lovely. Two double beds, desk bureau and two wing back chairs. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. Dinner, in front of the fireplace was such a special touch. The prix fixe meal was excellent. Beautifully presented and expertly served. Bruch the next morning was equally delicious. We will be vack.
- Thomas D (10/5): - This was my second stay at Curry Estate . The first was with my daughters for a winter getaway and this a stopover on our travels. The staff is friendly and so helpful. It feels like an Inn yet the accommodations are so very nice. The rooms are large, sheets and mattresses very good, new baths and carpet modernize the romantic vintage feel. The hotel was quiet, we slept great! This is hands down a wonderful stay and the winter package can’t be beat!
- Shauna (10/5): - The 6 sisters that own this definitely know what they are doing! The rooms are adorable, the staff is fantastic, and make sure you visit the bar area with full dinner service in it - adorable and great ambiance. Will be staying here again soon 💜
- Rong-Hui (8/5): - I really wish I can give a 5-star rating, because we really like the property and the staff. But the condition of the room is a bit off, two lamps were broken, and there's a broken glass. We will definitely come back, and hopefully they will be repaired. Thanks to the staff!
- Livia (10/5): - Staff is very friendly. We accidentally booked room for next night and they changed it for us. Continental breakfast was good. It’s located in separate house about a 500 foot walk from rooms. Had a bed and breakfast feel. Highly recommend!!
- Christina (10/5): Beautiful! - Beautiful property! Nice roomie rooms
- Grace (10/5): - Amazing
- Roy (8/5): - Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff at the inn itself was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely.
The breakfast was just ok. The food and drinks weren't restocked until we asked the staff member, and the hot water for tea wasn't very hot. Baked goods were a little stale. Tables weren't cleaned promptly, so you weren't sure whether someone was still sitting there.
Aside from breakfast, however, we had a pleasant stay overall and would return.
- Susan (10/5): - clean, quiet, nice size room
- CLAUDIA (2/5): - First of all, the people from the hotel said they never received the infirmation for our booking thru expedia so we had to do it directly with them and at the end they charged us a lot more than what was offered...the facilities were beautiful and few staff were good. However, during the last day we decided to take advantage of the free continental breakfast the young lady that was servicing was very rude and even mean...even sending people to dunkin donuts to get coffee...i really think you should remove the hotel from your list as you go and when you're already there like us for a wedding without time to look for another accommodation you are trap and had to pay whatever they tell you without any other option and they need to train their staff for costumer service.
- Eileen (10/5): - We stayed one night and ate in the restaurant. The food and service were excellent. Rooms were large and comfortable. Front desk and housekeeping were kind greeted us as we came and went. All very attentive. We’ll be back.
- Scharnagl (10/5): - The staff was great!! Especially the owner.
- Lisbeth (2/5): - Reserved a King and confirmed in writing by owner. Then told only Queen available. Dingy, musty smelling and dark
- Arlene (8/5): Curry in a Hurry. - The room was excellent, clean and spacious. The bathroom could use a better shower head and the floor needed a rubber matt. The cushions of sofas needed to be upgraded. Otherwise, even our friends were impressed with the property and it’s up keep!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing Inn. Quiet, comfortable room Beautiful property
- Barbara (10/5): Anniversary GetAway - We truly enjoyed our two night stay.
The owners and staff made us feel right at home. Our room was clean, bright & lovely. Dinner and breakfasts at the restaurant were delicious & friendly. Stop bye & see for yourself.
- Ana (8/5): - The building we stayed at was mostly empty and the rooms were all open. This may be for ventilation purposes but found it a bit insecure especially since access to the building was not restricted to guests. The breakfast was a bit skimpy but the scones were good.
- Janine (10/5): - Beautiful place, nice breakfast and wonderful staff.
- Rachel (10/5): - Amazing stay! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable! The staff is very kind!
- Cathy (10/5): Charming - Charming, spacious room and friendly staff. Great restaurant, too.
- Lisa (10/5): - Clean room staff were was awesome!
- Jason (10/5): Great place to stay - We were married here years ago and the new ownership has done a nice job continuing the great atmosphere. Convenient location to the TSP and all that the Hudson Valley has to offer.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The staff at this inn was very friendly however the facility was a bit rundown feeling and the building didn’t strike us as incredibly secure. It was fine, not great.
- Barry (10/5): - Le Chambord was a very comfortable,
- William (10/5): - it was a cold and windy day, so we didn't get to see or use any of the outdoor area. The rest of our stay was very comfortable, friendly and affordable.
- Lisa M (10/5): - Extremely clean, very quiet, beautiful decor. Sat by the fireplace near entrance of hotel. Breakfast was a very nice variety of food. Great atmosphere.
- Eileen (10/5): - Staff was friendly and the property beautiful. It is perfect for a quick getaway with much to do:)
- Rich (8/5): - Rooms were updated, spacious, clean and safe
- John (6/5): - Very charming and Christmasie.
Check in was hard to find, desk clerk was pleasant but not very helpful, when I asked if the were other places outside of the hotel to eat she said just google it.
Property felt dated
- Rong-Hui (10/5): - What a wonderful treat to stay here at the Christmas season, it was decorated with such a charm. Staff were super friendly! We will definitely come back for another visit!
- Susan (6/5): A pleasant stay, a few things needed. - The entire estate is charming and beautiful,
We had a pleasant stay, however a few things need some attention.
Not near enough plugs in the room, the shower floor needs some kind of non slip mat.
The room above us was not quiet. A, creeky floor and footsteps kept us awake at night.
We had an in room coffee packet supplied the first morning only of our 3 night stay, with only one sugar and one creamer, there were 2 of us.
On the second evening of our stay, at around 6 pm we heard someone unlocking and opening the door, it was a woman who said.. "oh, I didnt know you were in here, I came to turn on your heat.
This was a little shocking, what if we weren't dressed or something.
The owners are a family of 5 or 6 lovely sweet ladies (sisters) who have only owned this estate since 2019 and they work very hard to make your stay a nice one.
We will definitely be back again, and hopefully this review will help with suggestions that will bring some attention to several issues that need to be addressed.
The restaurant is historical, charming and elegant, and the food and service were impeccable.
- Melanie (10/5): - Friendly , helpful staff who helped make our stay comfortable. Delicious, buffet breakfast with many homemade baked good options .
- Christopher (10/5): An unparalleled destination - We picked the estate for an impromptu getaway for a couple days in the Hudson Valley. We couldn't have been happier with our experience!
The accommodations were excllent and cozy. Our room was very quaint and homey, with a terrific shower. The bed was ultra comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more professional, friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. And the food...Oh boy, you're in for a real treat! The restaurant was unbelievable! We HIGHLY recommend dinner at Le Chambord and ask for Bobby, as he took wonderful care of us during our Thursday dinner. Also the continental breakfast that is included in the stay was also delicious!
We will DEFINITELY be back.
- Stephen (8/5): - Excellent dinner, courteous staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): A bit disappointing - A bit disappointing. Probably due to staffing shortages, there was no help with luggage even though there were plenty of stairs to climb. B'fast consisted of fruit, muffins, beverages. Had to request a wing chair, electrical outlets were sparse. Room was not made up until very late. Dinner at their restaurant was really good, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating.
- RONALD (6/5): - Making reservations to stay/eat at LeChambord, one would expect 5 star due to its name. Our experience was more like Fawlty Towers. On arrival, walked into restaurant entry. “Manager” came swishing in from back room to a small table with a lap top. He was very exuberant, almost theatrical. Told me my credit card on file with Travelocity was expired even though we had used it the entire trip. After leaving checkin, we realized he hadn’t given us our keys or the wi fi password (and no instructions in room). The restaurant is housed in a beautiful old house. Noted that half the pieces of wall art with lights were not lit (burned out). We were directly to another newer building to our room. The entry is Barron and gas the ambience of a funeral parlor. Several wall lights had missing bulbs. The room was roomy and comfortable but the furniture was all faux luxury- we bought similar furniture years ago from a spiegel mail order -not real wood, joints held together by staples, drawers close with difficulty. Several electric outlets did not work. TV set up where you gave to sign up for which output you want but the majority of them required subscriptions. No instructions. Dinner was of high quality but two people took orders, seated people and cleared tables for a 7 table room. They were clearly overworked. No wine or alcohol list. My wife asked for a glass of wine and response was “red or white”. One of the owners (several sisters) walked around talking to guests-staff overworked .
- Leonard (10/5): Perfect Experience - Twice this year we visited this area and stayed overnight. The rooms are large comfortable and well taken care of. Having a relaxing delicious dinner at the Inn and then walking to your room is a perfect combination
- Pablo (8/5): - Very nice property, we had an excellent stay and plan to come back in the future, hopefully to stay again and have dinner in the hotel’s frenchy restaurant.
- Madeleine (10/5): - A great hidden gem for a weekend getaway. Friendly, kind staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and do not miss the restaurant! Dinner there was exceptional. There are so many fun things to do in close proximity like Dia: Beacon, visiting Fishkill Farms and Storm King. I wonderful experience and we will certainly be back!
- valerie a. (10/5): - Beautiful property on bucolic grounds. The owner was very personable, accommodating and cared about ensuring that I experienced an enjoyable stay. I would definitely stay there again.
- Yoshiyuki (10/5): - Very relaxing place with excellent restaurant.
- Maureen (8/5): - It was just what I needed for a few days of AC and quiet between stays with family.
- Rosemarie (8/5): - Very private, we were the only ones there! Clean. Good and adequate continental breakfast. Quaint. Lovely. Pleasing.
Will use again for sure!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a find Le Chambord is! We stayed in a beautiful room at a gorgeous estate just minutes away from the Empire State bike path. Perfect!
- Darrell (6/5): Average over all - Average at best. No deadbolt or chain locks on bedroom door. Walked into a warm room, a/c was off in July. Plastic flowers in room and entry way set the stage. The sisters (owners) are trying, but need to focus. Loud music until 10:15 pm from pavilion. If you want to sleep, stay away from pavilion . Breakfast was not ready on time, had to go to local deli.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We were not given any information upon check-in except our room number. Information found in the room about the TV was excellent. The room was very clean. The shower was poor. The staff members we met in the evening and morning refreshing linens were both very nice and helpful. We went in for breakfast and had to find out the procedure by asking another person staying at the inn. Apparently there was a mix up by Travelocity or Le Chambord because the inn had not received payment. We were told this while having breakfast - a muffin and coffee - by a staff member refilling the carafe of coffee. At her request we called our bank. Travelocity had been paid. We had to provide an itinerary number and a number to reach Travelocity to them. The cost of the room was $66 less than the amount we paid to Travelocity according to the inn. We had been expecting a full breakfast, which was not the case. They did provide umbrellas for walking from the inn to the restaurant.. Upon checkout they claimed we owed $31 which they could not explain. We left without having breakfast. We have not heard from the inn or Travelocity about the problems we encountered.
- Sandra (8/5): Overall good unless you’re staying on Monday - Bit of a odd-duck property. My room was in a building behind the main building which smelled clean the minute I walked in. The furnishings are a bit dated, but the property has been well maintained. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was I was there on a Monday evening and the bar and restaurant do not serve on Monday or Tuesday. I was looking forward to sitting outside and having a drink after a long drive. Part of the reason I booked the hotel was so I could relax and not have to hunt up dinner. Which, ended up being an apple, some crackers and peanut butter because I didn’t feel like driving around to find something to eat. There needs to be a warning or an indication on Hotels.com that lets people know food isn’t available at the beginning of the week.
