Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - The room was very minimal at best. There was no table, no chair, nothing but two beds and a nightstand. There was almost no water pressure at all. We could not take showers and could hardly brush our teeth. We were in unit number 9, so hopefully they will fix that.
- Andrea (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the restaurant so much, the food was delicious and the price was budget friendly. I stayed with my husband and 3 kids we all have a blast there.
We booked the standard room and maybe because the cabins are very old they have a weird smell, and also we found hairs and stain on the linens and bathroom.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - This place was perfect for what we wanted. We wanted something simple and not in the middle of town. It was nice to be able to drink coffee in the morning outside in the woods.
- HANNA (10/5): - Staff was amazing. Rooms were cozy. Restaurant in the parking lot had a lot of variety and was super relaxing. Across the street from road to Snowbowl.
- Amelia (10/5): Simple but clean night sleep - Went skiing with my daughter and just needed a place to sleep for the night. Base camp in Flagstaff AZ fit the bill!
- Theresa (8/5): - Perfect cabin getaway.
- Emily (8/5): Perfect place near the mountain - This is a great place to stay when you're wanting to be close to the mountain. The room is cozy and quaint and the restaurant that is on the grounds provides amazing service and good deals on food and drinks. If you book early enough you're getting a great deal for the location as well.
- Elena (10/5): - Everything was great! It's my favorite place to stay in Flagstaff.
- Jazmine (10/5): - Nice
- Catherine (10/5): - Perfect
- Kimberly (8/5): - So convenient to be right next to the snow bowl. I liked and didn’t like it here. The room was satisfactory, definitely need new pillows. The restaurant needs a lot of work. We stayed here a few years ago and partly chose to again because of the food that was here. Must be new management or decided on new menu, it was not the same at all. Complete bar food. Overall I would decide somewhere else to stay unfortunately.
- Cierra (8/5): - Cute but a little cold, we had the fireplace on the whole stay.
- Silvia (8/5): Weekend in the woods lo. - We got just what we asked for 2 beds and a bathroom. Our stay was just for the night but person in lobby and people in restaurant very helpful and friendly. We will come back. Price was great.
- Gail (10/5): - I can’t wait to stay here again! Great experience!
- Patty (2/5): - Was dusk when we checked in. As soon as we walked into the room, the smell of an outhouse hit me. We looked in the bathroom and saw mold in the shower. The grout was missing in some areas and mold was in there. The sink had something white in it and there was dirty soap scum on the sink. Dusty and the door into the room was not sealed tight. You could see light all around it when the lights were off. We were so disgusted we couldn’t stay there. We didn’t even see if the bedding was clean. Went to the office and “checked out”. The staff at the desk was very apologetic and said he would contact housekeeping management. I will never stay there…
- Robert (4/5): - Obvious owner is ski area, not hoteliers.
- Jeff (6/5): - Water pressure and bathroom difficult to use. Very old and needs remodeled.
- Leslie (10/5): - The only thing we disliked was the sound of the traffic and the racing cars which is surprising, considering the area other than that everything was perfect
- Estrella (10/5): - Very nice place
- Jonathan (6/5): - We arrived at 9:40 pm no staff to be found. Our room key was left out on the counter. Room was nice and clean. Tv didn't work, no fridge in the room, shower floor felt like you were going to fall through it. Left about 7:30ish still no staff in sight. Overall nice cozy gas fireplace/ stove heating (no a/c for summer visits) would still recommend a visit
- Paul (10/5): - A very cool place and area.
- Paul (10/5): - It was real good!
- Blake (10/5): - Great little cabins in a nice little spot below the mountain.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute cabin, nice location - Lovely little cabin, nicely decorated but could use some repairs on the outside.
Bathroom was very small but clean
- Krista (10/5): - Love these little cabins.
- Mallie (10/5): - Great place to stay. Clean and friendly staff.
- Kerry (10/5): - Adorable cozy cabin conveniently located to SnowBowl. Fantastic customer service, incredible restaurant onsite with live music and attentive servers.
- Kenny (10/5): - It has a bar and restaurant where you can get some good food for dinner without driving anywhere else. The place was clean and quiet and you can walk your dogs in the area nearby. I feel safe as a solo traveler with my fur babies.
- Robin (10/5): We love this place - This is our third time staying here. Love this quaint spot close to snowbowl and great hiking. The small cabins are very cute. The restaurant here is great too.
- Boshra (10/5): - It was a great experience, staff are amazing!
- MARCELINA (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay!
- Ryan S. (10/5): Awesome - Awesome location
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Needs air n heat. Needs outside repair n paint.
- Richard (8/5): - The rooms were very basic but clean and comfortable. The restaurant served excellent food but it is not open for breakfast. The staff (TRISTAN, PARKER, CHRIS & NICK) were outstanding and friendly. Location is perfect if you plan to climb to the summit of Mount Humphreys.
- Barbara (10/5): - The pictures Expedia shows are not what you see when you get there. The cabins are clean inside. The staff are very nice & accommodating.
- Vido (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Beautiful location.
- Donna (8/5): - Cute little place to stay convenient to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff.
Doesn't have a refridge ,microwave or little breakfast but still quaint.
- Tom (10/5): - We were we were in a cabin closest to the road, so it was a little noisy.
- leanna (6/5): - The room was ok but the bathroom was in desperate need of a remodel.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Great place to stay and not leave…they have trails, outdoor games, and a cozy restaurant.
- Tracy (10/5): Decent - Other than the door being really hard to open and close (probably because it was so humid that the door had expanded), the room was decent. Nothing fancy and not big, but the beds were comfortable. The room has wood shutters and a light outside, so if you like your hotel room dark like me, then this is not the room for you.
- Zachary (10/5): - Wonderful quiet property with onsite bar & restaurant
- Bill (10/5): - Great location to access the peaks!
- Danica (8/5): - Very cute homey stay. No AC or mini fridge which made our stay more difficult. Should have double checked.
- Carlys (8/5): - My sisters and little (7 year old) brother stayed here! We liked the area! It was peaceful and beautiful and not very far from town! We appreciated the Wifi! I just kinda wish there was a little more to do. We had some down time in the evening. If the weather isn’t great or if you’re not the hiking type, there should be more things to do like a playground for kids, a “rec” room of some kind for pool or foolsball. It’ll make it more fun to spend more time there during down time! Otherwise it was great! Maybe larger tv’s and a coatrack lol
- Patrick (2/5): - $91.20 was the rate. my credit card slip showed $291.20 I Question it at the front desk, he said the bill was $91.20 tax I got a bill that showed the right amount. he said he would text the mgr. i gave our phone number. No phone call. my credit card is going to give me my money back. Stay Away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - The room was comfortable and clean. Had trouble with the fireplace not working. Staff fixed it. I think the battery in the TV remote needed to be replaced.
- Judy (10/5): - We have stayed at the Basecamp at Snow Bowl previous years prior to COVID, we love the new room decor and updating, the fresh cool air, and the field full of wild sunflowers was a spectacular treat…also got to take great selfie pics, this was a perfect little getaway to attend a concert at the Pepsi Amphitheater, we will be back.
PS; morning coffee in the office was was pretty good too!
- Candice (6/5): - We arrived around 9:30pm and they left us an envelope with our room key. We found our room had not been prepared. Bed was obviously slept in, used towels, dirty bathroom, trash around. Luckily we found an employee who was able to get us a new room within an hour or so. These cabins are okay… the beds are decent but sheets were very worn. Bathrooms kind of smelled. No AC and the fan in the room was caked in dust. The shower head was too low for my husband who is 5’10”. Room doors are very stiff and creaky so we could hear people coming in and out through the night. Probably will stay somewhere else next time…
- Megan (8/5): - The cabins had a cute restaurant in the front. The restaurant had good food and friendly staff. The property is just a few miles drive away from the ski mountain and Humphrey's peak trailhead.
- Joseph (10/5): - Been here 3 times now and I’ll never stay anywhere else in flagstaff.
- Douglas (8/5): - Nice cabins, looks like they were refurbished lately, bed was comfortable. Cable TV with HBO. No frig, microwave or coffee maker. The water in the shower was hot but didn't come out with much pressure.
- Dawn (8/5): - The staff is very friendly and helpful. We liked how this is a dog friendly place with some nice areas to walk around. It has been partially updated but could use a bit more. There was a big gap at the top of our door, the deck had nails coming out and caution tape around one end. The shower is interesting as the tub sits high and is shallow and the shower head aims at your chest. The place was clean except for the base boards which had lots of dirt.
We weren't expecting fancy at all. This place is cute and fit our needs while we were in town. We will stay here again but not during July or when it's hot. There is only 1 window so no air flow even with the fan provided which made for sleepless nights. I think we would also go for the rooms with the double beds as they receive some shade from the trees and not direct sun like our unit.
- Gina (8/5): - The area was cute & quiet. We loved our room and the location. Our only complaint is there must’ve been an animal in the room previously my husband got white dog hairs all over his black shirt when he laid on the bed.
- Terry (8/5): - Na
- jane (6/5): - I was here at 3 they don’t let u check in before 4 I had to come back
- Justin (8/5): - Door didn’t close all the way and light from the porch light shown through all night!
- Alex (10/5): - I will stay here every trip I take to the Snowbowl area in the future
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Had a greay stay and enjoyed the area.
- Patrick (8/5): - The facility was quaint, charming, surrounded by woods. However, this did not make up for the lack of microwave or even a small refrigerator. Come on! Microwaves and small fridges are the standard now.
- Robert (8/5): - Booked a room here to hike Mt. Humphreys. Room was clean, and rate is a great deal. No a/c, but fans and open windows cooled the room nicely. Staff was friendly, and neat diner-type restaurant on site.
- Brad (10/5): - Great Service
- Heather (10/5): - There are hiking trails only a few minutes drive from the cabins. The cabins were adorable and a great price!
- gary (10/5): - Cozy cabin below mountain. Clean air even with the fire up the mountain. Could not go snow skiing as this was June month.
Can not understand why no smoking room when fire was on mountain.
- Jeanine (8/5): - A small cabin that was very comfortable for a night. the water pressure was low in the shower. close to restaurants, and shopping.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK, but probably not for light sleepers. - Very nice staff and room was clean. The only issue we had is the wall dividing the cabins is very thin. We could hear virtually every noise and footstep that our neighbors made (a couple with a young child and 2 dogs). They were up before 6 AM, and therefore so were we.
- Ashley (10/5): - This place is fabulous! They are short staffed but super friendly! The place was great and the restaurant was amazing!
- SILMA (4/5): - There is no AC. FYI
- Joan (8/5): - the atmosphere was nice. It's a no frills unit. no refigerator, shower small, bathroom veery small. very few electrical plugs. the plug in the bathroom that was up high under the bathroom light and it did not work. no closet, only one chair to sit on. But on the bright side it was very clean and the diner was good, food and service there was great.
- Julie (8/5): - Needs updating
- Greg (4/5): - Dumpy. Unsafe (had to sleep with front window open to keep cool, flimsy door and lock in disrepair). Rip off. Just don't.
- Mercedes (8/5): - Our stay was great! We would have really appreciated a mini fridge as we were traveling 800 miles from home with snacks that needed to stay cool. Other than that it was a great stay!
- Antonio (10/5): - Small, cabin-based motel at the entrance to Snowbowl ski resort. Well appointed cabins and a nice restaurant on site. A nice change from hotel chains.
- Justin (10/5): - The staff was incredible to get me checked in early!
- Richard (10/5): - Great people, very nice and helpful. Nice spot. Need Air conditioners in rooms!!! It was hot as hell. But everything else was awesome.
- Jesther (10/5): - Just need A/C in the room. But it is a great place.
- Heriberto (8/5): - Great location for the activities we had planned.
The days we were there were pretty warm and the room got pretty warm. There's no AC, but a fan would've been nice to cool the room down.
- Johnny Mack (10/5): - Great little cottage. It was perfect for me and my two son’s
- Kristen (10/5): - A cute, retro, basic motel which was great for a quick overnight stop on the way to the Grand Canyon. It was nice to have a restaurant/bar for libations. No hairdryer, fridge, or coffeemaker, and the bathroom was like traveling back in time to the 1960s. Still, very cute and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
- April (10/5): Perfection - Perfect
- Amanda (10/5): - Perfect getaway! Cozy and very comfortable. Even though its next to the highway, its still quiet!
The showers dont have a lot of pressure but other than that it was perfect. Very clean
- Sylvia (8/5): - I did not like that the queen bedroom did not have a microwave or refrigerator.
- Kasandra (8/5): - Very cute cabins, smaller than i thought they'd be, but very cozy. Nice fireplace, comfortable beds, and great for what we needed, which was basically a place to sleep and shower for the night.
- Ketaki (2/5): Cabin 8 Review - While booking we were promised two beds. One bed in the main room was good but in the other room it was sofa bed with tons of dust and really horrible condition that my husband and son couldn't sleep for the whole night. ALthough quiet time starts at 10, there were lot of noises from the restaurant and parking lot past midnight. Although this facility charges premium our experience was horrible.
- Stuart (6/5): - There was a mistake with check in time. Expedia claimed check in was at 3pm, but upon arrival, we were told.by sign and staff that check in was at 4. Thankfully a staff member came early and allowed us to check in at 330. This is a great place for a rustic stay, especially if planning to hike. However, we had no coffee maker, no refrigerator, no dresser for clothing. Amenities are very basic, this wasn't a huge issue for us but something fellow travellers may want to know. For the price and the location, we really did have a satisfying stay!
- michael (6/5): - Very basic but we knew that was what we were getting. The cabin we were in was older with a lot of wear and tear. But, the restaurant was awesome and friendly. Also the surrounding area was beautiful
- Ryan (10/5): Everything we expected. - It was a quick stay but it was cute and quaint. Would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 2 nights stay for a couple, getaway from Phoenix - The cabins are cute, just for a night or two's stay. No microwave or fridge so be prepared. We brought a cooler. The bed could be more comfy, we brought extra pillows, you'll need an extra blanket too. Overall we had a good time
- Mohsen (8/5): - The property is very clean but requires major maintenance. Very very friendly and helpful staff, tell them what you need and they will do their best to make it happen. Close to Flagstaff and in reasonable distance to Grand Canyon. The room has a nice fireplace that warm the room in no time.
- Kelly (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful environment. Will definitely stay again!
- Darwin (10/5): - Nice choice
- kim (8/5): - Staff was nice . Check in quick .
Bed was comfortable. Place was quiet . Did have a restaurant on the property. Close to trails . Coffee available.
Bathrooms need renovated . Room needed deep cleaning .
- Noreen (4/5): - This property reminded me more of a scout camp bunk house. Definitely not what I expected for a resort property.
- emmanuel (10/5): - Everything was perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Snowbowl base camp - Really cute place perfect to get away, neighbors were loud at 6am but that’s everywhere. Came up to do stuff at the snow bowl and didn’t find out it was closed until just before our trip so that sucked.
- Deborah (10/5): - Nice place to stay rooms are like little one room cabins
- Francine (8/5): - Nice room. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff, who gave us good tips on where to eat.
- Judy (8/5): - Clean and close to areas e wanted to go. Nice people and good restaurants
- Mark Joseph (10/5): Great Location and Awesome Price/Value!!! - Very charming cabins arranged in the pines near Flagstaff. We also had dogs with us and the location was great for them to be able to go out and run around a bit. Yes, the bathrooms and showers are a bit small and dated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable and 1/3 the price of nearby hotels. We were able to get 3 cabins for our family and all were comfortable.
- Roy L (8/5): - Loved the atmosphere of Basecamp and our check-in was Great!! The only things that could be improved was a coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator in each room- No access to coffee in the mornings and no access to have drinks, store medications requiring refrigeration or put anything in refrigeration-
