Would recommend this place to everyone who needs a few nights in San Jose. The home is beautifully maintained The woods used in the building were gorgeous. The gardens were my main attraction. The bird calls every morning were such a beautiful symphony to wake up to. The breakfast every morning was such a delicious way to start the day. There were absolutely zero negatives about this place.

Beautiful house with cozy, spacious (and very clean!) room that had everything we needed.
From the first moment, we felt like we were family guests. Xavier and Pilar were so welcoming!!
The breakfast was generous and delicious! Every morning, we woke up to the sounds of birds, went to the patio in the beautiful garden, where the table was already set up for breakfast. Fresh local fruit, delicious coffee, hot breakfast…
No hotel would ever - ever! - come close to the authentic experience of staying with the local family.
Pilar and Xavier also recommended us several really good restaurants and hidden gems that we would have never discovered on our own.
Overall, we couldn’t wish for a better stay in San Jose! Recommend 1000%!!!

Sitting out in the garden for breakfast with her to chat was great!
We will be back without a doubt to this beautiful country and we will stay in The Casa de la Tias without a problem!

Pura Vida! The only small issue was Google maps and Waze got us lost getting to the place. However, we found it and worth it!

- Shaiesta (10/5): Lovely oasis - perfect for preparing for a busy city day. - This place is perfect if you are looking for a beautiful sanctuary while visiting San Jose - the garden is gorgeous - the rooms are cute - lots of beautiful objects and thoughtful touches everywhere - like full size, decent quality toiletries in the bathroom and an honesty bar with snacks and drinks.
The breakfast in the garden was gorgeous - I was travelling alone with lots of meetings through the day and the morning was my time to regroup and plan - to fuel up and feel ready - Pillar was really flexible about what the options were - so generous with portions and very welcoming for my colleague who came to meet me before our day of visits began.
I will definitely come here again. Thanks Xavier and Pillar for making me feel so welcome and safe. Its a minor thing and didnt not negatively impact my time at all -I arrived at night and though there was a sign on the main road, I wasnt sure how far to go down the path to reach the casa.

Great location close to food. The room was well stocked with everything you could imagine, even a garbage bag for laundry. The only downside was that the mattress and pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. really didn’t sleep well because of it.
