Jennifer (6/5): Ground Floor Rooms at Courtyard@ Heeren Boutique H - We had 2 rooms as went with another couple. Location right smack in Jonker Area. However maintenance of rooms are poor - water leaked from below basin in bathroom, rendering floor wet and had to put towel on floor to prevent slipping on wet floor, shower knob missing, plaster peeling off walls etc. Bed and bedding were comfortable though.

The room is not well-sealed: there are gaps from the shower to the light well and no way of ensuring an insect-free experience. Also downsides for me - a lack of natural light in the bedroom and no breakfast provided.

Dennis (10/5): Quaint trip back in time. - Service was excellent. Staff greeted us eagerly, and assisted us to our room. The room was cleaned /replenished every day. It was a small , boutique room, with no refrigerator, but it was quite a nice place…had a distressed, antique, vibe. It was also very close to the riverwalk and all the touristy attractions. Grab was exceedingly cheap here, so if you needed to go to the beach or other locations further away it will not be a problem.

Cedric (8/5): Great hotel with character - Nice comfortable hotel with a historical feel. Although some parts of the room is kinda unfinished, it gives the room a historical feel. Amenities are provided and room is pretty clean. I like the 4-poster bed. Location next to the night market, so it's a very convenient hotel to be in. Just make sure room windows are shut tightly to prevent mosquitoes from flying in. Highly recommended.

Chooi (6/5): - The reception staff Intan was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. So walkable to Jonker St Night Market, shops and eateries. Hard to get a park but luckily the Reserved parking space at the hotel front was good for offloading bags. The Peranakan hotel is a historical building but needs to be maintained as the shower ceiling had water dripping down when the guests in the room above took a shower. Some parts of the walls had paint flaking off and dents. A real shame that this historical building lacks some TLC
PHILIPPA (10/5): - Beautiful hotel - like staying in someones’s stylish antique filled home. Staff lovely. Very comfy huge king size bed with very nice quality sheets, good shower and bathroom. Great location. Would definitely stay here again.
Kar May (4/5): - The location wise and staffs is great ! But the property itself if rundown, and very dirty . Obvioisly is not being clean properly, dust is everywhere . Water leakage problem on the ceiling and thign chipping off . The worst thing is the design for the toilet . Not fully closed up for the WC area. Smell and noise all over the room when use the toilet . Not worth paying for this hotel at all !!

The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is just next to the famous Jonker Street, so the location is perfect for those who wants to just walk out to the busy tourist street. It is also just a 5 minute walk to the Dutch Square, the River Walk and and a few more minutes to A' Formosa. The room is clean and the decor is astounding.

The lobby is just beautiful but the rooms aren't that impressive, I know it's supposed to have an antique local cultural vibe but it doesn't mean you cannot renovate the rooms a little bit once in a while and it seems like they haven't been renovated in years. Probably my only complaint is the hot water doesn't last 5 minutes before turning to warm water only. Location wise you cannot get anything better than this, it's in a very convenient location to stroll around all the main touristic places yet still a very quiet location. Would I stay again here? Maybe, the location is awesome and the place is cozy.

There is always someone at reception, and like it that the front door is always locked at night, for safety reasons. Guest can access with the room card, besides, the friendly reception staff recognises the guests. Excellent location, jonker st, central, yet its peaceful & quiet inside the hotel. I would rate it a 4 star, if not for the room that we stayed in, looks very tired, bed and pillows weren't comfortable. It was the junior suite.

Tricia (6/5): Not What It Seems - The public area is eclectic and nicely decorated, it being in an old shophouse helps. However, the bedroom, bathroom and in-room amenities are normal, I would rate it as a guest-house standard at best. The floorboard is thin and we could hear the footsteps from the bedroom above us. Breakfast is pathetic. For the price, it's not worth it. Also, after booking, I found out that the room rate at Agoda is SGD70 with no service fees. On hotel.com, the rate was SGD90 + $14.65 services fee. There are nicer hotels at half the price.

Other than that, the rooms and amenities are basic like what you will expect from a 3* hotel. The location is good as well, just 2-3mins walk to the night market Jonker Street. Staff is very helpful and accommodating.

Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible - It could not be worse. We know that the hotel has free parking, so we parked in the roadside parking space in front the hotel (in the white block). Then we were told that the hotel parking is a few blocks away. when we moved to the hotel parking lot, we found that the tyre was flat - a merchant in the neighbourhood put trash bags in the parking lot in front of the hotel, which contains broken glasses! I told the hotel that they needed to call the police, file a report, find out who did it and avoid it in the future (otherwise, it may happen to other guests!). however, when I came back in 1 hr, I found that another car parked on the trash bags... In the next morning, a new trash bag showed up in the parking lot... The only answers that i got from the hotel were: there used to be a trash bin, but not sure why it was disappeared; they had talked to the neighbour before, but it did not work; the manager was traveling overseas so could not talk to me. This incident cost me MYR 1100+.... In addition to the terrible experience, the hotel is not kids friendly at all. Could not sleep well in the night due to the aircon. Also, the wall in the bathroom looks dangerous... Will never come back again.

Judith (10/5): Charming boutique hotel - Charming little hotel, clean, comfortable and hospitable. Beautiful mix of lush plants, water and Chinese furniture make this an interesting place to stay. Good breakfast with plenty of choice served by friendly staff. Our rooms had everything we needed; shower provides loads of hot water at good pressure. My only negative would be the hole in the ceiling above the shower allows mosquitoes in and as I react badly to bites this was a concern. I would stay here again if I'm ever in Malacca again.

Georgia (4/5): Such a disappointment! - Not sure what happened but our room was terrible. I have stayed in 60+ hotels in the past 10yrs and this room was the worst. It doesn't look like any of the pictures it was room G2. The room was dirty with dust and dirt on the floors, dust and dead bugs on the misquito netting over the bed, black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, an account unit that couldn't keep up, no safe, no refrigerator, only only one working channel on the TV, and very poor sound proofing. The only nice things I can say are that the staff was very nice, the breakfast was good, and the location was excellent

Unfortunately the room lacked a safe and the wall sockets were faulty, the rooms also aren't very soundproof which can be annoying. You can easily hear lots of noise from outside the room, and we kept hearing bumping noises coming from the rooms upstairs. It would also be nice to have a mini fridge but alas. However, the staff were friendly and we found the simple breakfast included to be quite satisfactory. All in all the experience was overall a pleasant one.

Verified traveler (6/5): Nice to Stay - Nice to stay, this is one of the hotel near to jonker street. I'd like suggest the owner split the room with different size bed. We feel like get cheated after paid online, we received notification that our paid room not available due to double (full) bed size not available, we cannot cancel and no refund, we keep follow up and finally solved on a day before stay date. Our room toilet not vented, no ventilation fan and windows locked. All staff friendly, cleaner staff is helpful.

Agnes (10/5): Peranakan Themed Boutique Hotel - The hotel is near Jonker Walk. The entire lane has lots of Peranakan shops. The hotel is beatifully decorated with gorgeous Perakanan decor. I stayed in room F7 Executive Suite for two nights. The room is spectacular and it comes with a jacuzzi! Bed is super comfy, slept peacefully throughout the night. Breakfast is decent. Everyone at the hotel are super friendly and hospitable! Definitely recommend this hotel to all!
Wen Si (8/5): Lovely Hotel with a great Location - Nice hotel with wonderful location, ambience and décor. The location was excellent as well - down the road from the Nyonya and Baba heritage museum, and Jonker street was one street away. However, the only drawback was that there were some bugs in the room which kept biting me and my boyfriend - that made for a slightly uncomfortable night.
DG (10/5): - Hotel with extraordinary settings that makes us felt that we're travel back in time to old straits of Malacca. Staffs are helpful and gaves us warn welcome.

Louise (10/5): Lovely hotel - Great location - The hotel was in a great location with easy walking distance to the sites. The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was really lovely. Breakfast across the street was really good as was the welcome drink on arrival. Our room was lovely and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
