• HSteffey (10/5): No Better Place to Stay in Mackinaw City - No better place to stay if you want the best views of Mackinac Bridge, the Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Island in the distance. Cozy, comfortable, clean, motel room that provides restful sleep. Very friendly staff. Allowed us to check in a little early because our room was ready. Approximate 12 minute walk to the Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry Terminal, and a large number of dining options and shops. While not perfect, this is the only place we want to lodge at while visiting the area.
• Bell (10/5): - The room is comfortable, the scenery is beautiful, and the environment is very quiet. Dining is convenient, and it’s nice to take a walk around. If you’re lucky, you can even see the northern lights. A wonderful motel overall.

• RetiredTravelerTN (10/5): Still a Great Choice - We enjoyed our first stay at Riveria Motel so much that we decided to stay again on our recent UP trip. We booked a bridgeview queen and ended up in the same room as on our previous stay. We like the 2nd story room with a nice view of the bridge. The room was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the good use of limited space. The only thing we would have liked to have that was not in the room is a microwave; one is provided in a wooden box outside the office; I don't see any way one can be provided in that room type. I wrote a more detailed review in 2023 which still provides an accurate description. The afternoon desk clerk was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the owner was also friendly. We continue to recommend Riveria Motel.

• Any (4/5): - Room door wouldn’t open or close needed them to try to get it open twice. Stairs unsafe and railing is old and unstable. I was disappointed with the conditions of this hotel. A employee or owner had a mustang he was braking multiple times in front of the building.
• Erin (10/5): - A hidden gem. Remarkable and unique motel with the best view in Mackinaw City. Rooms are decorated in charming bear theme and have everything you need. The mini fridge is big and even has a good size freezer to put ice packs in. My only complaint is that the sink doesn’t have any room to put toiletries or my flat iron.

• F1530MFkendras (10/5): Must stay - Very clean, attentive staff and excellent place to stay right by the bridge. We went for a walk on the beach at night and had beautiful pictures of the bridge lit up. We will be staying here again. Highly recommend!

Slept two adults one child for our over night stay. The pool is heated and has a great view of the bridge. Also BC pizza delivers to the room.

The only suggestion I'd have is that the bathroom could use some shelving to place things like a vanity bag, etc. There was no where to hang the hand towel b/c the towel rod was full with bath towels. • Roberta (8/5): Good but Cozy Family Stay - Overall, this motel was a solid 8-9/10. The room was small/cozy. The "lake view" was a bit of a stretch based on the back window or out the front door. My kids did appreciate the heated pool, but opening at 11 seemed strange.

• Lisa (10/5): Mackinaw City Riveria - This was a great stop for the night on a trip further north. The view of the bridge was wonderful, especially after the fog lifted and it was lit up. Check in was easy and the man was very friendly and helpful. Pool looked nice but we didnt get to try it out. The place is close to some great things.

• Linda (10/5): Excellent Motel stay - This hotel was clean, comfortable, almost on the Lake & had a great bridge view. One could buy ferry tickets to Mackinac Island. A city shuttle would pick you up for ride to ferry. It was a 4 block walk to the downtown area to souvenir shop or eat. The office had good customer service during open hours. The owner was accommodating to customer needs or questions. There was a refrigerator in the motel room but no microwave. One microwave was next to the office for customer use. There was a pool. Also chairs near lake edge. Our friends recommended this motel.

Early to mid-evening my travel companion & i fully immersed ourselves in a pretty blissful relaxation found no where else in Mackinaw City thx to the Riviera's uninterrupted expansive views of the entire straights. Ofc the Bridge.., and the steady, pleasant appearance & reappearance of the island ferries, ..., but we were most fortunate to catch 3 large freighters traversing between L. Michigan & L. Huron. All of the above paired w/ the unmistakable sounds found at the tip of the mitt..., waves gently hitting the shore, the deep baritone horns of the freighters and the shifting of the big rigs into lower gears as they climbed initial spans of the iconic bridge. The last of those even hit just right thanks to perfect mix of blue skys, clouds and off-shore breeze. All of this eclipsed by nothing more than the perfectly clean, comfortable and wonderfully! "up-North" themed guestrooms of the Riviera.

AC unit in our room was not staying cool, but does not change my mind about this motel. I will be back

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place to stay. - We stayed for a week. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. The kids loved the heated pool and we loved the view of the lake and bridge from the pool. The bathroom was small and needed more counter or shelf space. The shower curtain had a tendency to move over the rim of the shower while in use causing water to get all over the bathroom floor. There was only one towel bar so we could only hang two towels to dry. We bought some suction hooks to hang our bathing suits in the shower. The room had a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. No microwave in the room, it was outside near the office. The rooms are nicely decorated. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Would stay again - nice view of Mackinac Bridge and short walk to the beach. Nice parking area close to rooms. For an older building they have done a great job with updates and decorations.

The hotel was located on the edge of a state park by the lake and it was nice to walk around the area before dark. However, the room was very small and we had to climb a narrow staircase with torn indoor/outdoor carpeting to get to it. The bed was uncomfortable and there was inadequate lighting in the room.

• Joyce (8/5): - The Riviera Motel exceeded our expectations and made us feel very welcome! We only stayed for one night, before our overnight trip to Mackinac Island. When we checked into the Riviera Motel, the owner spoke a mile a minute, describing all of the places we might want to visit: recommended dining within walking distance; sold us discounted tickets for the ferry round trip with no date or time limits; got us pick up and drop off shuttle service for the ferry; warned us that one of the ferry services was not available; and even allowed us to park our car overnight at his motel while we went to Mackinac Island at no cost. It's not a fancy motel, but the view of the bridge and Lake Michigan is spectacular! The bridge is lit up in colors at night. The location is right next to the Fort Michilimackinac and Lake Michigan, and an easy walk to downtown. I highly recommend this motel if you are not looking for luxury accommodations!
