Guest Reviews
- Laura T. (8/5): Great place - This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. The concierge was very helpful, especially when the keys were not ready for us when we checked in. Our only complaints were that there was no soap or garbage can in the bathrooms (something that had been mentioned in previous reviews - not sure why this hasn't been addressed yet), and the bed in the master bedroom is not very comfortable. If those things could be addressed I would highly recommend staying there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect stay! Felt at home in their beautiful, clean apartments. I am going to book again.
- Christopher D. (8/5): Excellent centralized location for visiting museums, government buildings and downtown shopping - Beautiful building and suite in the heart of upscale shopping area. The suite was very nice with lots of windows. We felt safe walking the area even at night. Reasonable walking distance to all the major museums and government buildings and monuments. There is a nearby Metro but we chose to walk nearly everywhere. We arrived about 45 minutes before the checkin time. They were able to accommodate an early arrival which we appreciated being able to unload luggage and start our adventures. I used the gym nearly every day. The gym was clean and had a nice mix of equipment and free weights. Our only drawback was the beds were not very comfortable, tolerable but not hotel-like.
- SVC (10/5): - Wonderful apartment in a great location. Perfect for a family vacation.
- Mike (4/5): - Beds and couch incredibly uncomfortable. No trash can in kitchen. No additional blankets. Missing hand soaps in bathrooms.
- a (8/5): Long weekend - comfortable, fridge didn’t work too well. Remote for DVD was missing. Overall good experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the modern look of the apartment inside and out. Easy check in and check out. It’s in a perfect location! There’s a ton of restaurants and shopping spots within walking distance. I would definitely recommend.
- BRAD P. (10/5): Strategically located, clean with excellent Cable and Wifi - Great accommodations, comfy beds and spacious kitchen. AC worked perfectly and the two bathrooms with showers was a definite plus. Really high-end shopping right below you. Never walked more than 6 miles in a total day visiting any of the monuments or museums, with the added bonus of visiting during restaurant week and having ten five star places to dine within 1/2 mile. Just remember to pick up your wrist bands if visiting the pool, the lifeguard won’t let you swim without them.
- Sara B. (10/5): Spacious, great light, clean and convenient location - Excellent place to stay during my business trip to Washington DC. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to business travelers tired of staying in hotels. Great deal for the price!
- ABELARDO G PERNOT (2/5): - The room was not ready at checkin, we had to wait three hours for someone to come and set the room. Also the offer us a refund for the inconvenience (three months ago) and never got it
- Patrick (10/5): Great DC visit! - Everything about my stay was great! From the time I walked in to the time I had to leave. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer!
- Lisa (2/5): Stay here if you want to sleep in your office - A great place to stay if you want to feel like you're sleeping in an office building. No hot water on the one morning I needed to awaken, shower and leave. No one at the front desk to talk to about this problem. Called to report the problem to the management company. No response. Never stay there!
- Linh (10/5): - Accommodations were comfortable, roomy, clean and convenient to museums, National Mall, restaurants, etc.
- Greg (10/5): Comfortable Condo Lifestyle - The location is excellent! Its walking distance to National Mall and a lot of great restaurants near by. The unit feels like a comfortable condo or apartment. Having a washer and dryer was nice. There are no amenities, so plan to bring your own soap, paper towels, condiments, etc. Or there's grocery stores 1/2 mile away that is an easy Uber or cab ride. The rooms are brighter at night than a standard hotel room as the curtains shade the light but do not black out the windows. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the place was as clean as expected.
- Doug (6/5): Nice apt. Great location - Apt was very nice with a great location but the sink in the master bath did not drain and many ants seemed to be coming in from outside terrace.
- Nicole (2/5): Horrible! - I never stayed at the hotel. After a 5 hour drive I check in to the room to find it full of ants every where. I call the Global Luxury Suites to try and get another room and they are unable to accommodate me. They asked me if I could sleep in the bed?? I told them No! And they told me I need to find a hotel for the night and they would send maintenance to clean the apartment. I asked for my money back and they told me billing was closed until monday. I was left driving around DC calling hotels. Very upset and frustrated. I even had a ant on me when I got back into my car. I called them back Monday and still I do not have my money back. Now they have to talk to management.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good - Overall great location . Staff wasnt available for questions. One of my keys did not work and no one could assist to correct the error. My move in coordinator emailed me to ask time of arrival , for no one to be available to check me in. My family and I had to go back and forth for assistance .
- Karen (8/5): - The bed mattress was too soft and very uncomfortable.
- Travel_Gates (6/5): BEWARE Global Luxuries Booking Agency - The location and apartment was amazing. The front desk staff were great. The customer service from Global luxury was awful, with that being an understatement. I will never book through this company again. In trying to make adjustments to my reservation I emailed, called and left countless messages and no one assisted me. I practically had to beg not to be transferred. I was transferred without even being acknowledge or my issues being assessed, to a voice mail of someone who never returns their calls. If you Debra or Rosalee answers the phone immediately ask to speak to someone else.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent experience - I really loved it. The lobby and common areas are spectacular and high end. I wasn't expecting that. It was clean, conveniently located and well-priced. The building appears to be a condo that rents units for absent investors. It doesn't offer typical hotel services but there are tons of restaurants nearby.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Customer Service was Terrible!!! - The room was beautiful and ideal location. But the Customer Service was horrendous! They messed up on our reservation for 5 people. The room they gave us only had sleeping for 4. They did NOTHING to rectify the situation (no cot, nothing)! I had to sleep on the floor the 1st night! Unacceptable for the amount you pay for a "luxury" suite! Maddening!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best area to be on and a great clean apartment - A welcome reward to come to the apartment after a hard days sight seeing.
- Ivette (8/5): Nice apartment - Loved the place and the installations
Very modern apartment
Excellent location
- bevin m. (10/5): Great location and building for a city jaunt! - This apartment was in a perfect location in the heart of DC. You can walk to many sites or are a quick Uber to anywhere in DC and NOVa. The check in and check out procedures were easy. The only recommendation is you need to bring eye shades. Like every apartment in City Center, there are large beautiful windows, however, this apartment has very light white shades which make it difficult to hide any light in the morning. I would return for another girls weekend soon!
- cheryll (10/5): Global Suites DC - my new home away from home! - Beautiful, spacious, modern, great view, wonderful amenities! We enjoyed everything about it!
- Alison S. (6/5): Good apartment, great location, terrible bed - This is a good apartment in a great location downtown -- great restaurants, close to Metro and tourist attractions, not too noisy. But the bed is hard and lumpy, and the window shades let in a ton of outside light at night, so if you need a place for longer than a few days and need to sleep well, this is not the place for you (until the managers get a new bed and install blackout curtains over the "privacy shades" that don't actually keep others from looking in).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Downtown, near everything - I rented this place to host some friends in town for a convention. It was perfect.
- Rodrigo M. (2/5): Terrible experience! - Upon arriving at the property shower was broken walls broken ac not working properly we contacted the management company and they did nothing about it overall I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.
- LYNN (6/5): Great location and clean but service is terrible. - The location of the apartment is awesome. Right in the center of downtown D.C with plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The building and apartment was extremely well kept and very clean. The concierge is there for check-in and after that you are on your own for issues or problems. You have to call Global Luxury suites with any requests and concerns. We rented a 2 bedroom , 2 bath apartment and upon check-in there were only 2 bath towels for the 4 of us. I had to call 3 times to request more towels and finally received them 2 days after our arrival. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and can honestly say that it was the worst bed I've ever slept in. The sofa bed was a little more comfortable. Loved the location but to pay about $500 a night I would never stay there again.
- Rachel M. (10/5): Modern Retreat - We were really impressed with this apartment complex. We appreciated the security features both to get in the front door and to use the elevators and pool area. There was even an attentive lifeguard on duty. The location was perfect and we felt very safe. We enjoyed walking to museums and restaurants and taking a Big Bus tour. The apartment met all our needs (it was great to have a washer and dryer) and was very clean. We didn't cook but did warm up a lot of leftovers. It would have been helpful to have been provided dishwasher liquid (we bought our own) and there wasn't a stopper for the kitchen sink. A dish towel/washcloth/hot pad would make a nice addition to the unit. We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): The WORST beds ever! - This is honestly the first review I have ever written, but I felt compelled to share my experience. The apt was nice, but the check in was slow and the concierge was very confused about whether we were residents or guests. The location is terrific - walking distance to most of the main DC sites. However, the beds were the worst that I have ever slept in. Even my young children complained! For $500/night, I expect decent beds, at a minimum - these beds literally had NO support and crunched every time you moved in them. As much as I appreciated the location and the apt itself, I would rather spend my money for a room with a decent bed. Do not recommend if you value a good night's sleep.
- Gayle (10/5): Very close to the Mall and the White House. - Very nice location and would definitely come back to stay again!
- Rob R. (10/5): Loved it! - Nice and clean. Conveniently located. Could have had a few more towels. Would be nice to have a place to leave bags upon checkout at 11 when flight out doesn't depart until late afternoon - who wants to drag bags around the city! I will stay here again! Thanks!!!
- Ted (8/5): Great location. Mediocre service. - Great location. Apartment was big and nice but could have used better maintenance. Walls scuffed up, microwave and dishwasher didn't work very well. Hotel staff in the building were fine but dealing with the management company was unnecessarily painful.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great family option in DC - Very convenient location in an area with great restaurants. Well-equipped kitchen Next time I will know to bring some basic food items - coffee, filters, milk, eggs, etc. Apartment was spacious and really delightful for a family.
- Deb (10/5): Wonderful - The staff at that Apr/Hotel were wonderful, friendly and helpful.
The staff at Global Luxuries were very helpful and responsive to us. The location is excellent and the accommodations are very nice. The only real challenge we had was that bed was so uncomfortable, but they delivered a mattress pad before we left, which should make a huge difference.
You are within walking distance of the Smithsonians and Ford Theater is just a couple blocks away. The metro Station is a block away. You are in the heart of the new luxury City Center, with great restaurants/bars, or a couple blocks from Chinatown and more restaurants as well. If you are conferencing at the Convention Center it is two blocks away.
We really enjoyed this and hope to stay here again soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location downtown. Nice place! - Found by accident essentially on Expedia. Great experience. Not really a hotel per se- more of an airbnb experience, but the suite was really nice, with some cool views. Great location for us downtown.
- Dominic (8/5): I'd use it again, but be prepared. - We loved the location and space, however the service was annoying. Poor attention to detail left floors in disrepair and a sliding door that wouldn't stay closed. No blackout shade made a sleep mask useful. Apart from those details it was wonderfully secure, well located and had a concierge of sorts. On balance a good value.
- Stephen (6/5): - Very dirty floors and rugs had not been vacuumed. Hair on floors in bathrooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 2 bed / 2 bath @City Center walk to Convention Ctr - This was a full 2 bed / 2 bath apartment with modern kitchen, floor to ceiling windows, and modern furnishings on the sixth floor in a complex called city center. It is in an elevator building with nice workout and other shared amenities – including common TV, pool table, outdoor lap pool, etc. The complex houses high-end shopping and dining options. Management company did a fine job with ensuring complete inventory for kitchen, good cleanliness, ice organization, and convenient check-in. We had a very nice experience overall.
- EJ (8/5): Convenient to restaurants and major attractions - Kitchen facilities good
Comfortable beds
Above luxury shops
Good coffee shop close by
No sport on TV but very close Verizon Centre for Basketball and ice hockey
- Lon (10/5): Appartment for the price of a hotel room - Beautiful, functional hotel
- Colin (10/5): Good location - Great apartment. Nice location in DC with good restaurants and coffee shops close by.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is great but the room is a little bit older as it is shown on the photos
- Verified traveler (10/5): Upscale apartment - Excellent location .. In clean upscale neighborhood .. Cafes and restaurants built into the bottom level of this apartment building and is perfect for that morning coffee.
- Naomi (8/5): Awful check-in - Check-in was awful because the receptionist was someone from a subcontracting company and she did not know anything about my reservation. The confirmation number from Hotels.com was totally useless. She told me "Tell me your room number. Otherwise I cannot give you the room key. Here is not a hotel." but actually, no one told me my room number beforehand. I guess the Office procedure was poorly managed. I finally got my room key 30 minutes after I reached the reception.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was big, clean and with all the necessary amenities. the neighborhood was excellent with good choices of restaurants and no more than 15 minutes from the city main attractions.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You want to sleep? Don't stay here. - This was a highway motel quality room that just happened to be located in a luxury bldg.
Sleeping is basically impossible. The beds are hard. The pillows are cheap. The sheets are so thin you can see the print on the mattress through the them.
But what really makes getting any sleep impossible is the amount of light in the room. It's like daylight at 3am, and the blinds are sheer.
You're also expected to do almost all the cleaning (dishes, trash, strip beds, etc.) or you will be fined. It's not okay to pay the high nightly rate plus fees and then be expected to clean the apt before you leave.
I will never stay here again. Total waste of money.
- Barbara (10/5): - Great location to see the sights
- Elizabeth (4/5): Way over priced. - Room was not ready when advertised. Front desk staff were clueless and could not find our reservation. Room was barely cleaned. Can't believe we were charged over $500 per night for this.
