Guest Reviews
- Lorraine (10/5): - Not a typical hotel room, our suite was very clean, lots of natural light, lots of room and very homey. The owner was a pleasure; very attentive to our needs, very hospitable and made us feel like family. I will definitely stay here again! It was a very nice experience and we will recommend it highly.
- Paula (8/5): - Property walking distance to beach, shops
- Michael (10/5): - Great space! Had a wonderful time!
- Heidi (8/5): Perfect location - We absolutely love short sands. This Inn is perfectly located with a short walk to the beach and Restaurants. We never needed to use the car. My kind of vacation.
- Erin (10/5): - We stayed in the two bedroom as a family of four and will come again! It’s a great location, clean, and safe. Our kids had more than enough room and the kitchen was equipped enough to handle a few days stay.
- Eric (10/5): - Outstanding property, location, cleanliness- everything was truly FANTASTIC! Super kind and attentive hosts too. Thank you!!
- Sherry (4/5): - This was a misleading post from Expedia! Amenties that were described from you were not available.
- Cynthia (6/5): - Inn keeper was so nice, friendly and helpful. She was a sweetheart. The room however was very dated, carpet gave me heabiegeabies. Sleeper sofa was uncomfortable even for a young child. The extra blanket was stained gross and stuffing falling out. Cleaning staff never entered the room. We were there for three nights.
- Christopher (10/5): York Beach stay - Big, clean rooms walking distance to short sands beach. Friendly innkeepers and staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were clean and a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Inn keeper Dan and his beautiful assistant Cathy were the sweetest people ever. They felt like family.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - In a great location for shopping and beach! Very outdated and could use some TLC.
- Anatoliy (10/5): - Amazing location, walking distance to the beach.
- Luther (10/5): Helpful and welcoming staff. Good deal compared - Great stay. Helpful and welcoming staff. We have been staying here for several years. Everything in York is expensive now, yet this is more than worth it compared to other alternatives in the area.
- Steven (10/5): Family feel - Todd & Tracy run the inn! They are very welcoming and accommodating. Feels like you are visiting family. We will likely stay here again next summer! - the killinos
- Anitra (8/5): - This is a pleasant place to stay. The owners are friendly and attentive. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable. Nice short walk to the beach and shops. If ever back in area I’d stay here again.
- michael (10/5): Great family getaway - Our stay was good. The room had the bare minimum of what we needed. But it's the location that was the best. From our room it was a 5 minute walk and our feet were in the water and our room was on the 3rd floor lol.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - So clean! Staff is wicked mice and helpful. Super close to short sands. I would deff come back!
- Michael (10/5): - It was great very clean and room. Short walk to the beach.
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent stay. Convenient location, clean room and very friendly owners.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome. Will book again. - The Lynwood is amazing. Great room for us...close to the beach, and town. The managers were great and so nice!!!
- Tricia (8/5): - The innkeepers were SO friendly!
- Megan (10/5): Family friendly - Great property. Very clean. Owners on site, very friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable about local area and attractions. The room, for family of 5, was much more spacious and accommodating than expected. Already to book again!
- Linda (10/5): - Property was really cute. The room we had was a queen bed with a sleeper sofa. Had a nice balcony and a full kitchen area. Very spacious for our group of 3. The location was perfect for us. A block away from the water and an easy walk to town. We drove to nubble. 5 minutes maybe.
Owners were very nice and accommodating. Over the top helpful. Plenty of parking.
The only thing to keep in mind is that there are steps. So if you have someone with issues you might want to ask for something on ground floor if it’s an option.
The cutest thing tho??? Hee Hee. They have all the little bathroom items inside a mason jar. I love this idea. Best thing ever. :)
- Jessica (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - Wonderful stay with my kids! The owners were so personable and friendly, we felt welcome from the moment we arrived! Location is perfect, short walk to beach! Our room was clean and bed was comfortable! Will definitely be staying again!
- Alicia (10/5): - Todd is amazing and very personable. The place was clean and they did everything to make is feel at home.
- Linda (10/5): You won't want to leave!! - A very large clean room, comfortable bed and a short walk to Short Sands Beach. I think I want to live here.
- Kerry (10/5): - The property is a short walk to the beach.
The owners are super friendly and the Inn is very clean and comfortable.
- Carla (10/5): Cozy little inn. - We spent the first and last nights of our 12 nights in Maine at the Lynwood Inn. It is not a resort, but that’s not what we were looking for. It was perfect for our needs: a comfortable, clean place to sleep after a day of sightseeing in the lovely state of Maine. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. She provides a small, delicious breakfast of muffins and sweet breads along with coffee. I don’t remember if she offered tea. We visited well after the prime tourist season, so there weren’t many food choices in the area. We did have a small kitchenette, so we managed quite well. The office is not open 24 hours, so if you plan a late arrival, give the manager a courtesy call and let her know. She was very accommodating.
- Jon (10/5): - Short walk to town and beaches, along safe and well kept roadways. Quiet, friendly spaces. Easy and clear access to building.
- Christine's (8/5): It was ok - Room was very clean, but very outdated. The outside stairs weren't convenient for my elderly mother or myself with recent knee surgery.
- larry (8/5): - it was very nice, quiet and relaxing but be prepared to climb steep stairs
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Inn keeper of this property was very pleasant. The location is wonderful, very close to the beach and the town. We had a good dinner at the Sand Dollar Bar and Grille, including entertainment from Joe at the Piano Bar! Breakfast was at Sandy's. We enjoyed actually meeting and visiting with her. The drive to the Nubble Lighthouse was short and we got some great photos. A delightful small Maine coastal town.
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice place, a little older but not run down. Manager Kia was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place to stay. Short walk to town and beach York fun place to visit
- Phillip (8/5): - The room was beautiful and the area very convenient. Service was excellent, our only complaint was that the bed was far too firm for our liking and we were uncomfortable in the morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great place for a family if you are staying for multiple nights and you want to feel at home. Great location.
- Anne (8/5): Lynwood Inn for my birthday!! - This was a nice convenient inn. Nice to have a mini kitchen in the room. The papers left in the room, for info, and the envelope for housekeeping, looked pretty 'weathered' and stained. They need to change these out a bit more often. There was coffee left in the pot from the previous guests. Even though there are supplies to wash dishes and clean up, not everyone does so housekeeping should check.
The tub looked old and outdated but the decor was nice, the towels soft, the bed comfy, and the shower head, temp, and water pressure in the shower rocked!!
Awesome to be .3 miles from the beach!!
Thanks so much!! Good price, I would come again!!
- Jose (10/5): - The room was surprisingly spacious and the full fridge was great as well.
- Ted (8/5): - Coffee, muffins, fresh sliced melon for breakfast was nice.
- JARRED (10/5): Family friendly place - Awesome lot of space . Stove fridge pots and pans
- Jacob (6/5): - Nice location in a quiet area and in walking distance to the beaches.
However, the owner wasn't serviceminded at all and neither welcoming.
She seemed irritated already when we arrived at the scheduled check-in time and let us know that we should check if the room had been cleaned and if not we should wait. She was very little flexible in general, the room was nicely decorated but not very clean and a bit worn out. The sofabed is horrible! you can feel all the springs right through the mattress. The queensize bed is okay.
The breakfast is served on a counter in the reception for the guests to take and consisted of blueberry muffins (nice if you like cake for breakfast), yoghurt, energy bars, watermelon, moldy grapes, and coffee but no bread, although there was a toaster on the counter.
The surroundings around the building were not tidy, a lot of old stuff in the garden. We stayed only one night and asked if we could leave our car the next day until 3 pm, when the next guests were supposed to check-in but that wasn't possible, because she thought that the next customers would need it, although she couldn't confirm that they would come before 3 p.m. When my husband picked up the car at 1 p.m. the parking lot was almost empty, so we didn't understand why we were asked to move it into the street. In general not a very good experience and would never have paid full price (we booked the day before and had a discount).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Booked a night for my daughter and I as I have friends in the area and wanted to spend a few days at York Beach. It was an easy walk to Short Sands Beach and downtown and the room was exceptionally clean. Plenty of room, a nice kitchen area with all the utensils, cookware to have dinner right in the room. Also a nice private deck. Will be coming back with the entire family very soon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We LOVED our stay. It was an impromptu trip and we were lucky enough to get a room at the Lynwood. We stayed there a few years ago and this trip brought back great memories. I had 3 teenage girls with me and they thought it was the coolest place--and begged to stay longer about 2 minutes after checking in. Great location. Just the right amount of "New England Charm." We'll be back!
- Kristin (6/5): Old and run down - We were on a family vacation where we drove through New England for 10 days and stayed at many places for a couple nights. This hotel has a nice location - quick and easy walk to the beaches, shops and restaurants in York. Our room was spacious for our family of 5 and everything seemed clean, just run down and old. The furniture and appliances were all old and worn. We didn't have any intention of cooking in the kitchenette, but would have been terribly disappointed in the condition of it if that was part of our plan. The pullout couch (that we need for sleeping for our 5th family member) was old, stained and the mattress was gross. My son ended up sleeping on the couch itself covered with the sheets. The private deck is an old rickety deck with paint peeling off and an old, dirty plastic table and chairs. The innkeeper was pleasant and the breakfast of fruit, muffins, yogurt, coffee and tea was a nice start to the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, 5 minutes walk from short sand beach. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay, except for emergencies - It is a great location, the décor is perfect for the beach, the bathrooms are well updated, the parking is convenient, and the beds are comfy. However, there were some things that were significantly below expectations in terms of cost and safety. A long power outage was unexpected and could not be controlled. However, what the owner chose to do was within the owner's control. In this case, the owner did nothing - no notice, no flashlights, no checking on anyone (in 90-100 degree heat), and no discounts for the inconvenience. It was a "fend for yourself" type situation.
There were also some serious safety issues for small children like missing bars from upper porches. Batteries for exit signs went out and much of the hallway was not illuminated during the power outage.
- Eric (10/5): - Quick check in. Person at desk was nice.
Got in room quick. Nice stay , liked the room.
Over all nice room. Fair price..
- Lee (8/5): York Beach Fireworks Location - Enjoyed the location and proximity to York Beach 4th of July fireworks.
- Rick (8/5): - Things you must know:
Each room is allowed only 1 (one) parking space. parking off-site is extremely limited. Again, ONLY 1 PARKING SPACE PER ROOM.
No elevator, rooms listed on the first floor are not on the ground floor and require stairs.
The check-in desk and small breakfast/coffee area are just inside the front door. The room on the ground floor to the right of the front door has a door that opens to this area. Early morning conversations/noise in this area is easily heard in this room and will wake you if you are a light sleeper. This room can sleep six with 2 double beds and a pull-out double couch. It is one large room, has a kitchenette area with a full-size fridge and a nice-size porch with table/chairs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Over all the stay was excellent and very clean, plenty of parking
- Daniel (8/5): Good stay - It was nice and quiet, still off season but just as wonderful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was very nice and enjoyed deck view. Check-in was easy and pleasant. Located near York Beach and Nubble Lighthouse so easy walk.
- James (8/5): Nice 2 bedroom suite option for a great price - Terrific location off the main road and super quiet. We were looking for a place to stay with another couple, but not have to share a room on a Saturday night with short notice. We were very happy to find a 2 bedroom suite at the Lynwood Inn.
The price for the suite was better than a single room at many other places. Check in was easy with plenty of parking out back. We stayed in room 12 which was perfect for a one night stay. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. The decor was outdated but not unpleasant. It was a seasonable summer night so not sure if the window unit would keep all of the rooms cool but the window fans in the bedrooms kept us cool enough.
There was a nice continental breakfast available in the morning with coffee, juice, yogurt, muffins, and fresh fruit. I would recommend the Lynwood Inn for a weekend stay at York Beach, Maine.
- Elyse (10/5): - Super cute and cozy! Loved it! Room was perfect. Nice and clean. Pretty much everything youd need to live comfortably! Thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very nice to have a little home away from home with full sized fridge, king bed, and effective a/c. Our Wi-Fi was a bit spotty probably because we were on the top floor in a corner room, farthest from any signal. Having a community gas grill and firepit was beneficial, although we did not partake. Coffee pot and microwave included, but bring your own coffee and filters. Already planning on visiting again this summer, if our schedules allow.
- Lee (8/5): - Clean and comfy, large room close to town and the beach. Cute beach details, would stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We like everything about Lynwood Inn, our room was clean, spacious and comfortable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property and my room were very clean.
My room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The property is close to the ocean.
- Eileen (10/5): - Comfortable, clean and close to the beach. I slept really well. Breakfast was great also.
- Julie (8/5): - obvious personal touches to the property. owner takes a lot of pride in establishment. Loved the baked goods in the AM. back building under the drain spout is a marsh and my son fell in the mud it created. perhaps some stone at the bottom of it so the water doesn't pool up in the grass and create marshy effect? love how close it was to the beach.
- Brian (10/5): - Great place to stay within a close distance to the beach, Nubble Lighthouse, and The Fox for great dinner.
- Moriah (10/5): Family trip - We came down from bar harbor to visit the adventure park for our 4 year old. We got in late but our room was right there waiting for us with no hassle! Wicked happy with our room and the size to accommodate a 4 year old!
- Mike (8/5): - Room nice staff nice but very hot
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean but basic accommodation. Suited needs of family.
- anne (8/5): Good value - Went to York for a wedding and the 3 bedroom was a great
Option for our group and less expensive than the venue. There was a minor issue with the parking situation but everything else was
Fine
- Ellen (10/5): - This was a hidden gem. I had no idea it was there and ive been vacationing up in York Beach my entire life. I WILL be back, and i will recommend it to friends and family.
- Miriam (8/5): Wonderful, peaceful, cozy stay - The rooms were clean and the ambience was comfy and cozy. The distance to the beach was not too far. The drive to the lighthouse and the scenery is beautiful.
- Kelly (8/5): Very nice - Loved how clean the Inn was, they let us check in early, we had the 3rd floor with a nice double door balcony that had a little view of the ocean and the the continental breakfast was really nice with fresh fruit and muffins. Very relaxed environment. Staff 5 star.
- Daniel (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - We stay here every year when we're in York, the rooms are a little dated but spacious and clean, and the location is pleasant and quiet. It's also a short walk to long or short sands beaches. We enjoy having a full kitchen and of course to sit on in the evening. The staff are very nice. This location has a lot going for it in terms of being a family-friendly and hospitable place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, good value, a bit tired but clean and functional.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved this place - This Inn is super cute! The room was very homey and the beds were comfy! The kitchen was stocked with all the kitchen supplies you would need to for an extended stay! Perfect location for the price, only a 5-8 min walk to the ocean! The tables and chairs on the deck were the perfect place to eat the delish muffins! I loved it and plan to stay again!
- Mark (10/5): A reasonable and very nice place to stay in York - The Lynnwood was clean and well appointed. It was great for a night and could be excellent for a 4 to 5 day vacation with the great kitchenette. I would recommend it and go back. Thanks!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice large space in quiet area within easy walking distance to beach and stores. I just wish they had coffee in the lobby earlier since my kids have me up way before 8.
- Kenneth (6/5): - For anyone with bad knees or mobility issues , this is not the place for you. Many ,very steep stairs to climb. Limiyed parking .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Such an amazing room and great location. About a 5 minute (or less) walk to the beach so it's quiet and accessible. Also, best muffins ever!
- John (8/5): - Good location. Walking distance to nearby lighthouse and beaches. Decent units.
- Stanley (10/5): Great getaway - extra clean, every little detail covered. and a great location. Staff extremely friendly
- Steve (10/5): Nice Place
- Nice place...lots of room and full are for kitchen. Enjoyed the balance and walking to the beach and eating area. And do not forget the coffee n muffins in the office.
- Barbara (10/5): pleasant beach trip - Close to the beach, town, and lighthouse. We had a wonderful stay, hope to come back.
