Guest Reviews
- Chris (1/5): I want my money back. - The room was FILTHY! Used condom on the floor, dead cockroaches, no room key the machine was broken, dirty sheets and a screaming unhinged owner The room was FILTHY! Used condom on the floor, dead cockroaches, no room key the machine was broken, dirty sheets and a screaming unhinged owner
- Luis (1/5): Room should have been cleaner, not a place you want to take your baby mom's to get romantic in. - The TV worked Room was filthy. Bed had marks on sheets and we had to clean it off before using it.
- Kiana (2/5): Bleh. Wouldn't recommend. - The staff was rude, he tried double charging me, I actually had to call the cops to resolve the issue
- Errol (1/5): Luke warm bath water. Try taking a basically cold shower in the winter when all you want is a hot shower - It was clean. No hot water
- NANCY (1/5): Ewe - Didn’t It was disgusting
- Karla (10/5): -
- Deborah (5/5): It was ok. - The staff was fine. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom needs updating. There were rust stains on the shower walls and the doors for the shower were not that clean. Also, they should let guests know that they use well water and that sometimes there is an odor. Because when I stayed there the was an odor every time, I turned the water on. Also, would be nice if the trash was dumped on a daily basis, or at least have an outside trash can to put your trash.
- Joseph (1/5): Very dirty, different bugs everywhere. Doors don't lock. Beds were gross. We slept in the car. - Hotel was absolutely disgusting with bugs all over the place. Tub was mostly stained brown and the comforter on the beds were very old and unwashed. The door did not lock and had a huge crack in it. Floors were so dirty that if you walked barefoot it would turn the bedsheets black. Disgusting.
- Gerry (4/5): our stay did not go well. - staff was friendly. we could not get the tv to work. We could not get the microwave to work. It was to late to reach out for support, so we left early. The driveway was poorly lit. Difficult to drive.
- Peterson (7/5): - Clean The mattress was a little hard for my taste and the pillows were flat.
- Jesus (5/5): -
- Quest825222 (4/5): sub-standard. Don't go. - we arrived at the hotel on Friday at about 4:30 pm. We had to wait quite a while until a person answered the ring at the office. He seemed surprised that we booked a room with 2 beds and asked me to wait a moment. After a long time he finally came back and gave us the key to the room.
We were shocked at the room - first, the floor had a considerable layer of water on it, especially in the bathroom. I soaked some up with towels and then we had to leave.
Other weirdly disgusting stuff about the room: the window sills were black with dirt and layered with dead flies. The sink bowl was stained with yellow spots and very dirty behind the faucet. The door to the bathroom did not close well - and this was because the panel of one side of it was mostly loose.
Maybe they did not have a room with 2 beds ready - so the person immediately washed the floor in that room (but did not dry it), as well as did not clean anything else and neglected to notice that the door is falling apart.
I was going to write a review right away, but did not find the time. Now I am again looking for hotels in the area and noticed that this hotel's reviews average 4 out or 5 points. How can I choose a hotel by ratings if this one has 4 star rating?
I noticed that all the reviews for this hotel are from 2018 and earlier. Nobody reviewed it in the last 7 years (or were the reviews only bad and therefore removed?)
- Frederick (6/5): - C
- Bob (6/5): - It is a basic budget motel. Nothing fancy whatsoever. It was close to my destination and convenient.
- Heather (2/5): - Terrible. Bugs in room, in sink, just everywhere.
- Brooke (2/5): - It’s not a 10z
- Ardinger (1/5): We actually did not spend the night. We actually left because there was bedbugs. - It was kind of sketchy. There was actually bedbugs.
- Katerina (1/5): Bad - Had confirmation, drove there and room was not available!
- Courtney (10/5): - Good customer service 👍
- Joanne (6/5): - We couldn’t get in the room. The owner was always there and said that if could bother him , if we couldn’t get in. When we returned for the night, all we had to do was turn the knob. Meaning - the door was unlocked. Of course, the dead bolt worked. It is an old motel. Needs updating.
- Tori (6/5): Great staff with okay rooms. - The room was clean. Fridge and TV worked great. It was a good value and close to my destination. There are restaurants very close as well. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful during check in and if I had any questions throughout my stay. The water smelled like rust. The toilet didn't flush properly. It was quite confusing on how to get hot water for my shower, but through trial and error I did figure it out.
- Alexandru (9/5): great place for the buck - good location and room with helpful staff one socket did not work
- Fran (2/5): - Could not stay in the room but paid $86. Dirty everywhere and sheets had long hair all over. Smell was overbearing
- Mike (8/5): - Only one cup in the room. Ice machine outside didn’t work.
- Jan and Troy (4/5): - The keys didn’t work to any of the rooms, the manager had to let us each in. The chain locks were all rusted and broken off. The floors were dirty from the last person, especially the caulking around the toilet and sink were the worst we’ve ever seen. The sheets didn’t fit the bed. The lady in the room next to us had trouble getting her I.D. Back from him and felt very unsafe. This is the 1st time we’ve had a bad experience using Expedia.
- Jesse (4/5): - Our room was very dirty, there was "seasoning" all over the floor so we wouldn't take our shoes off. There was something smeared on the mattress protector that may or may not have been poo, gross either way. The water smells like eggs. The man at the desk who im assuming is the owner was very friendly. Seemed like he was the only employee.
- John (8/5): - The room was austere and unwelcoming. The water took minutes to get hot and smelled like sulfur. The room had an ice bucket but there was no ice machine on the premises. The parking lot was covered in maple seeds that tracked all over the place and in one’s car.
- Judy (4/5): Disappointing - Convenient for overnight stay. Price for the area . Large room. Very out dated. Rust in the shower.
Cracks in the door, light coming through.. No breakfast options , not even coffee.
- Brian (10/5): - We always have a great experience here. Friendly staff clean rooms.
- Deb (1/5): We didn’t; too gross and stinky - Pictures online showed cleaned rooms a nice place. Nothing at all. Once there it was filthy, there’s no smoking but the owner smoked like a chain in the parking lot, inside the room it was dirty, bathroom disgusting, the window screen was torn and bugs, 100s of them in the room and window. We stayed for an hour and left booking at another hotel where we had a very nice stay
- Guzman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (6/5): - Place was dirty
- Colleen (2/5): Never again will I stay there? - It was the worst place I’ve ever stayed in the shower faucets were rusty and when I ran the water it smelt like rust. I thought it’s no way I’m taking a shower and I did not and the shower doors were really scummy, but it smelt clean the bed had clean sheets on was not bad at all. Microwave was dirty. I had to clean that out before I used it.
- Deborah (2/5): Horrible, Stay Away! - Horrible. Really old Desk clerk/owner? seemed to not understand english and old system so slow to check in. Was writing down all numbers from credit card on paper. Told him to scribble out when done. Booked 2 beds. Room had one. Move to only room left with 2, which was pretty much a storage room, new boxed headboards propped up against window, and missing one in our room. other headboard had big stain on it, looked like blood. No nightstand, water smelled like sulfur, stand holding tv warped and tv didn't seem to work. shower curtain gross and some stains in bathtub/toilet. no closet and overall just dirty.
- Samuel (2/5): Very poor -
- Ian (4/5): - Hmm
- Luz (1/5): don't even do it - last minute The place had a smell it was weird. also I didn't even shower. it was filthy when u turned water on it smelled the shower floor u didn't even want to put feet in there. the towels were old and not clean AT ALL DINGY I DID USE THEM. PULLED COVERS BUG IN IT . NEVER AGAIN. THE PASS FOR THE DOOR HE INLOCKED IT THEN DIDNT HAVE SPARE KEY
- Valerie (1/5): Bad -
- Silvia (2/5): - How can Expedia partner with them it was like one of those horror movies the bathroom was horrible, the sink all of the have rust all over it was looking like some one was murdered in the tub
- Catherine (1/5): NASTY - NOTHING the place was absolutely disgusting so dirty. no key for the door tv didn't work & dirtiest place I've ever been in.
- Larkin (5/5): Passable -
- Reina (2/5): - Anyone that rated this place over a 1 star is a fake review, I promise. We stayed here in a bind one night for baseball tournament. It was the only place in the local area under $200 a night, and booked the day we needed it, so our fault for being desperate hoping for a safe, somewhat clean place to sleep for a few hours before my sons early game. This was by far the worst place we’ve been stayed. Here is a small list:
1. Holes in wall
2. Dirty
3. TV didn’t work
4. Exposed electrical sockets and wires
5. Disgusting, dirty towels
6. Thin walls to clearly hear a couples’ fight 2 door over
7. Dirty toilet
8. Dirty shower
9. Lack of toilet paper
10. Sinks that didn’t drain
11. No inside hotel door lock
12. Fire alarm dangling from the ceiling
13. Bugs in light inside
14. Dirty mattress
15. Ice machine filled with garbage instead of ice
If you are in a bind like us or even just want to save $50, go elsewhere and run! It’s amazing that this place is even listed on your site. Sorry but other than the location, there is not 1 thing positive I can say about this disgusting motel
- Mark (8/5): The motel served its purpose for what I needed. Thank you! -
- Brian (8/5): - Room is small but very clean. Nice location. Staff was excellent.
- Sandy (5/5): Please stop the "air freshener!" - Office staff friendly, efficient, and helpful.
Bed was comfortable, clean. AC worked well.
Hot water got hot.
Liked having microwave and refrig.
Light by the bed - good.
Some traffic noise but not overwhelming. Sulfur water! Ugh! Don't drink it! Very pungent odor.
Strong, sweet air freshener? scent as soon as I opened door. Probably well-intentioned, but not appreciated as it was not optional. When I brought my toast home, tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, the TOAST tasted like this scent! It went through the plastic!
TV - couldn't get it to work. Rocket science remote did not help. No, I didn't ask front desk, did not have time.
Base of the window is not covered by blinds - easily corrected by management.
- walter (6/5): - close and convenient
- David (2/5): Last place to choose to stay - this property is probably 50+ years old and has never been updated. Bathrooms are terrible. Rusted shower doors that don't work. Dirty toilet bowls that have permanent stains in the bowl. Water out of the faucets smells heavily of iron. Walls in the room are dirty. You can see light under the door. The dead bolt in the door lock did not work.
- Melvin (10/5): - Bathroom dirty
- Frances (6/5): - In poor condition.
- Darwin (8/5): Very good -
- Annmarie (8/5): Ok for overnight - If there are other choices for a bit more money, I'd skip this place and go there! The bed was comfortable sheets were clean but the room itself needs a thorough deep clean.
- Jesus (3/5): Poor -
- Lynne (6/5): I survived - Functional but grim. Sink was dirty. Mirror had smudges. A/c heat was too loud so I turned it off (fortunately wasn’t a chilly night). Bed and sheets ok. Nowadays my expectations are low. No smells thank goodness. No curtain on window, Venetian blinds only so lights from outside bled through. I survived.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the money it was a good value for a one night stay. very quiet area but close to a few restaurants etc. Bathroom was very small and no directions as to the TV/cable service.
- Paul (3/5): Wouldn't stay again. - The location was convenient. And the beds were extremely comfortable. The linens were clean. The whole place has lot's of potential, but it's all unrealized. The rooms are antiquated. The bathroom was a mess, mold growing on the caulking in the shower. Exposed wiring in the closet. Paint drops on the floor, and really the finishing in the room is either not done, or very poorly done. Bugs in the Ice Machine, and the chain lock wasn't mounted so that you couldn't use it.
- Steven (8/5): - Quiet, clean. Reasonabley close to variety of dining.
- Beverly (1/5): Bad - Only stayed two nights room was not clean
- Darlene (4/5): - My room had a centipede that I saw and killed, but there may have been more. Killed some spiders in the tub before taking a shower. Last 2 days there got bug bites which I don’t know from what. Was able to get new towels from staff when I asked.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clemence (5/5): I guess I should have been warned by the previous ratings. - Greatful for the fridge and microwave because I needed breakfast which fortunately I had because there was no food provided. Sometime hot water in the bathroom sink. Close to my destination. Comfortable bed. Allowed me to check in somewhat earlier than usual the first day. No one checked me out, so I just left the key. NO hot water in the shower, and sometimes in the morning none in the sink. I was placed next to to ice dispenser, so was awakened frequently by people seeking ice. Walls were thin, so I heard conversations & t.V. from both sides. Hard to reach from highway, especially going south. The sign and driveway were unlit, difficult to find in the dark. Although perched on a hill above the highway, my room was particularly noisy.
- Dan (7/5): Good -
- Dan (5/5): Passable -
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronica (1/5): The most disgusting place I have ever stayed in!!! - N/A
- John (6/5): they need to clean every thing in bathroom floors were dirty - nice bed no soda in machine and no munchies
- Curtis (9/5): Superb -
- Kala (8/5): Very good - Very clean, comfy bed, good price Right on main road, somewhat noisy due to traffic and other people at motel
- Karen (6/5): - Needs an update, several electrical outlets did not work, tv remote didn’t work, no blow dryer, paint stains on the bathroom floor. We were an hour early and they charged $10 to get the room then. It is for sale , hopefully they can sell to someone who will update , it is a nice area for a motel.
- Mohsen (6/5): 50/50 - Front desk guy and his wife are really nice folks.
Overall good customer service.
Stayed 3 nights for a road trip from cali .
Basic motel .
If you don't mind burnt and or stained sheets thats the place for you .
- Terry (2/5): - Lighting aweful, no coffee maker, 3rd world, bathroom a joke.
- Yenseeneh (4/5): - When I arrived the bathroom was dirty. And I had to clean it myself. Other than that I did good night rest until the alarm went off at 9:30 in the morning I'm talking about the smoke alarm that woke me up. The man that worked at the front desk had already told me that check out time with 11 o'clock last night and then he comes knocks on my door this morning at 10:30 telling me again check out time with 11 and I told him I know what time it is to check out and then he tells me what hurry up and get ready to leave and I looked at him and said who are you talking to like that And I wouldn't never stay there again he did this while I was on a phone with my boyfriend.
- Karen (2/5): - This place was discusting. I stopped to sleep for the night to travel and there were people making sexual noise all night, I had to leave at 1am. Very uncomfortable. I’m requesting a refund and will not stop till I get refunded. Also, sheets and pillows were full of wierd liquid spills on them. Absolutely discusting. Staff was nice but the rooms lack of cleanliness, and people need to behave. Please refund me my full payment. I will not stop till recieved.
- Danielle (6/5): - Pit stop for the night. Nothing more nothing less.
- Charlene (10/5): Happy home away from home - I stay here a lot. The room is always clean, nice and comfortable. The man and woman at the office are great people. I highly recommend the sentinel motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good for value - it was a decent stay
- Charlene (10/5): Happy to stay - I stay here a lot for work related issues, meetings ect. The front desk staff are nice, the room is comfortable, the room is nice and always clean.
- Brandon (2/5): No Attendant - I arrive for my booking, no one was available to check me in. I waited 10 minutes. My card was still charged for the stay! Chose elsewhere!
- Jenna (8/5): - Quiet, roadside place. You get exactly what you think you would.
- Steve (8/5): - It's alright
- Chris (4/5): - Had to book this motel last minute despite the reviews. The lady at the front desk didn’t really know what she was doing, she seemed confused. I also saw an exterminator truck outside, which already gave me a bad feeling about the rooms. The bed itself was decent, sheets seemed fine. The bathroom, however, was gross and filled with dead bugs and mold. The toilet seat was not cleaned either. Our fridge was leaking and the table was clearly not wiped down from the last guest that was there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The baseboard heat was not working at all. It appears to have been turned off for the season, despite the outside temperature being 45 degrees at night. A noisy space heater with a bad bearing was plugged into an extension cord, but had not been turned on, so the room was very cold. Even with the noisy heater turned on I was too cold to sleep. Otherwise, nice motel.
- Robin (8/5): - It was ok for one night!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I like that it is an independently owned business and it’s a small quiet old fashioned motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best service - I enjoyed my stay here. The owner and his family are very helpful and very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was fine, no waste basket is only complaint. We were there the Morning after a tornado hit, and they were very accommodating despite having 6 trees down all over the lot
- Daniel (6/5): Good - It was an old hotel but clean and quiet. Good place for a solo dude or whatever
- Elena (6/5): Fine for the Night - The Sentinel Motel was adequate for one night. Check in was a breeze, and our room was okay. The biggest issue was the paper-thin walls and the loud family in the room next door. Other than that, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean albeit outdated, and the price was very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic motel set back and up a bit from the highway with grass and trees in front, so relatively quiet although on a busy roadway. I give it 4 stars as it met my expectations. It's not a 4-star motel but good enough for 1 night. Air conditioner was a bit noisy so that was the only problem, but I didn't need it on very much.
- Michael (6/5): Meh - It looks like it belongs in a horror flick. Once you open the door to the room, all sense of adventure wears off and you realize it's just another crappy motel room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good enough for me, but I dont ask for much. Basic necessities, affordable, fairly clean, nice location.
- J.T. (6/5): - Was ok, not great, but not horrible, didnt notice any bugs or anything. Slighty out dated and could use a fresh coat of paint here and there, but its cheap, in a nice location, with plenty things to do nearby. A decent, basic stay if youre not asking for much. Would definitely stay again.
- Bryce (6/5): - Mold on the walls. Heater barley worked. Room was cold all night. I had to turn shower on hot to help heat up room. Paid over $80
- Thomas (6/5): - 1 Heater in the closet
2 nose from outside level high
- Jerry (8/5): - Great staff, nice room. My only concern is that the room was heavily perfumed or incensed. Anyone with asthma would not have been able to stay in this room. Had my wife been with me, I would have had to go to another hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was adequate for a single night stay, but I wouldn't recommend for an extended stay. The room was decently clean, some rubbish found here and there. The floor was constantly wet in a spot for some reason and kept getting our socks wet, but overall it was tolerable
- Bobbie (8/5): - A little older and in need of some upgrades. Very nice staff.
- 827carlosl (10/5): Affordable & Clean & Polite - I was coming in town and my train was late. The staff was very understanding and held a room for me. The room was great! Beautiful shower, a/c worked, TV and channels were great as well. Bed CLEAN. All around great experience. I recommend to anyone.
- MikePaK (4/5): Not again! - Stayed here about 2 years ago and it was OK at best. Well OK would have been a big step up from what we experienced this time around. Extremely rundown, sheets were worn and thin but not as worn and thin as the towels. Really, you expect people to dry off with those things? There were boxes of tile stacked outside the office that were there two years ago, so that should tell you the speed at which renovations take place here! This place will definitely not be on our "stop list" the next time through West Chester.
- Garry (6/5): Good Motel in a pinch. - Bed was fine. Shower only in our room. Oversized furniture made the room seem small
No free coffee or hot water. No ice. Very very basic Motel. Motel staff were nice and helpful.
