Guest Reviews
- Mariangellys (6/5): - Overall positive experience. The staff was accommodating and helpful.
- Jane (8/5): - lovely
- Khandker (8/5): - Pretty close to the point of interests.
- Pavan (10/5): So relaxing in a large clean well stocked space - Large space! Minifridge, microwave, a set of dishes and wine glasses, etc. Everything very clean. Had a toothbrush, shave, and comb kit and modern new shower. The room was so relaxing to come back to after a long day out walking. The rooftop breakfast area also such a relaxed treat and felt good to have a bit of fruit along with the eggs and breads. Such a good value while traveling.
- Penelope (8/5): - Very spacious room and smooth check in process.
- M. (8/5): - Early morning I could hear the party noise from the roof terrace. It is obviously a very popular place for young people.
- guillermo (6/5): - Internet in the rooms are none, tv very difficult to use, breakfast poor, on top terrace open sky in the morning is cold
- Luis (6/5): - The main reason for booking in this hotel was the offer of a room with twin beds. However, it was really disappointing to arrive in a room where one of the beds was a folding bed. Upon complaining, the reception staff changed us to a room with a single bed and a double bed, which is not yet what they offered in their web site. Apparently, they didn't have any room with twin beds and therefore their offer was misleading.
- PEDRO (10/5): - Well located
- YIBO (8/5): - Everything was good except loud music last almost overnight on the weekend.
- Everardo (10/5): - Very helpful staff, amazing restaurant / bar, clean rooms, and near many historic places to visit.
- Iwona (10/5): - Honestly, I am very happy to share that our staying at the Somalier Hotel in Santiago de Chile at Agustinas exceeded our expectations!
We had a very nice room! Bed was comfortable which was amazing.
The best part of our staying was the hotel’s amazing location!!! Happened, that we were a block away from an Opera House, literally a 5 min walk to our show! No taxi need it haha
I will recommend this hotel with no hesitation 😄
- Manuel (10/5): - Excelent place i highly recommend to others
- marion (8/5): - Strong Wi-Fi and great included entertainment apps on the tv
Large room and comfortable bed
The breakfast was ok, and included in the room
- Paul Peter Pesce (8/5): - Great, wonderful staff. Good restaurant on the roof.
- willywalkabout (6/5): You Could Do Better - Sandwiched in between a sex shop & a strip joint (seriously), this smaller hotel has no lobby, a teensy elevator, a terrible breakfast on the 7th floor (which is a bar at night), and a staff that cannot speak english and seems pretty non-plussed about making you happy. The physical location is great, very accessible to many important sites in Santiago. And my room was spacious although the electrical plate fell off when trying to use a plug, the toilet did not flush very well, the tv didn't work, and I had problems with the showerhead. But the wifi worked well and the bed was comfortable.
Grato
- James (10/5): - A very nice hotel with very friendly staff.
- Guy (8/5): - La terrasse est superbe
Un peu bruyant comme environnement
- Carol (8/5): - Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
- Paola (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Robert (10/5): - Hotel Sommelier was a delight. It was clean and comfortable, located near the best sights. We would be happy to use this accommodation again.
- alberto daniel (6/5): - HOTEL BUENO EN INFRAESTRUCTURA, PESIMO SERVICIO, QUERIAMOS UN ADAPTADOR DE TOMACORRIENTE Y NOS MANDARON A COMPRAR UNO EN LA TIENDA DE AL LADO ¿? EL CUARTO CON GOTERAS DE AC TODA LA NOCHE Y NO LO REPARARON
JESUS FIGUEROA EXCELENTE PERSONAL CUIDENLO
- Nikolay (8/5): - The best part of the hotel is location . You can walk everywhere. We were advised to be more cautious in the area ( we did not have any problems). Overall it is a nice hotel for a couple days in Santiago.
- Ive (10/5): - Coming from the United States to Chile for the first time, I would have to say the staff treated me great! I am not great at Spanish, and they had patience with me. They also had English speakers there, but I wanted to speak as much Spanish as I could. Miguel and Dulce were two faces I could count on with any question I had about the area or service pertaining to the hotel.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Great hotel. Nice and clean. Great roof top patio and bar
- Sheena (10/5): Perfect location for a quick trip to Santiago - We loved our stay here. The price was great, location was great, and it has a nice little breakfast (basic, but nice) Staff is friendly (some basic Spanish will help you if you). It IS noisy (bar on rooftop stays open quite late), so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs and you will be fine!
- Reservarlden (10/5): Ideal - Very well located hotel in the centre of Santiago which features an excellent array of welcoming staff at the check-in desk, spacious and well equipped rooms as well as a decent breakfast which was sadly missed on the final morning due to an early flight. Many points of interest just a short walk away. Comfortable stay.
- David (8/5): - There is a lot to like about the place and a few things not to like; the room was excellent and the staff friendly but English was not spoken. We were on the 6th floor and the night we stayed they had a special event on the rooftop terrace above our room so the DJ's music boom boomed until 1:00AM. There are several sex shops and strip clubs in the area but we felt safe and there were no incidents. The strip club next door was still going strong at 3:00AM when we our taxi picked us up to take us to the airport. If I were to stay here again I would request a room on a lower floor.
- Gonzalo (10/5): - todo muy bien
- Charlene (10/5): A great stay in a beautiful city! - Front desk personnel were very helpful. No wifi in first room and they moved me to a lovely suite where the wifi was excellent. Comfortable bed, hot shower, and a fabulous breakfast included at their rooftop restaurant. Location in the heart of the historic district was perfect.
- Jayoung (10/5): - Excellent place. I stayed separate occasions. Clean, spacious, well kept facility.
Minor issue was limited communication due to language barrier. Most staffs have limited or no language skill.
Breakfast can be better.
- Sharon (4/5): - Hotel is next to a sex shop/stripper joint. Area looked unsafe at night, but maybe not. Desk clerk was very nice but could not speak English--listing said English was spoken. Room was spacious with a kitchenette and a small dining area. Bed was comfortable and sheets and towels were clean. On the negative: the ceilings were quite low and the room seemed dark and oppressive. After plugging our computer in (we used a proper adapter) something blew and a light bulb began blinking like a strobe light. The curtain fell off the track when opening it. But the main thing we could not accept was that the wifi went in and out-- it was very poor. We needed wifi for our work. We had booked for 4 nights but we left after one.
- Robert (8/5): - Just checked in. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped.
- reneerG6797KS (10/5): Great location - We stayed for a couple nights at the hotel on Merced. Great location, near to walking tours & places of interest. Staff were friendly & helpful. Included breakfast which set you up for day. Rooms were clean & comfy & we had a huge bathroom. A top terrace serves drinks & food, but not on Sundays.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Todo muy bien, excelente atención.
- Michael (10/5): - Great staff . . large room . . convenient to local attractions
- Lan (10/5): - The location is very good and many other parties can be reached on foot! And the receptionist is very friendly. The room is very clean. but the only regret is that the toilet drain stinks at night, even if it is cleaned tomorrow.
- Trevor (10/5): - The room was very spacious and well appointed. There were a few maintenance and cleaning issues, but only minor. The staff were helpful, pleasant and efficient. Situated between a Sex Shop and a Strip Club it is not the most salubrious of areas, but this didn't affect my stay.
- Norman (10/5): - The location was great and the staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They arrainged tours and transportation and gave us good advice about nearby restraunts and things to see.
- Sandesh (10/5): - Nice place to stay. Close to old town and major attractions. Area around the property is shady at night
- Connie (8/5): Convenient location and very helpful stuff - The hotel is very well placed and although the staff didn't speak English really they were very helpful. My only complaint really is that the housekeeping leaves a bit to be desired. There were some days where I left to do not disturb and my room wasn't cleaned that day which is fine. The days that it should have been cleaned I noticed that the floors were not vacuumed. Overall look good stay
- kiwitripper64 (6/5): Lots of potential - We stayed here in September 2022, at the tail end of the covid pandemic. Travel to Chile was just recovering, and I think this affected the hotel. There was so much potential. The hotel is in a good location and the room was large clean and well appointed with a good bathroom. The architecture is wonderful. But the service and breakfast felt very tired. As mentioned, probably with good reason. I hope with the return of tourists, this hotel is brought back to life.
- Thu Duyen (8/5): - The hotel is just half a block from Santa Lucia Hill and within walking distance to all attractions in downtown. The breakfast is very simple.
- CHRIS (8/5): Pleasant two night stay with breakfast - Check in went well considering the front desk doesn´t speak english. The little spanish I know was helpful. Our room was a bit on the small size. bathroom was good with an excellent shower. Breakfast was included and it was ample enough to start the day. I would stay here again.
- ljgordon (10/5): Beautiful and Friendly - What a lovely hotel and very accommodating. We Stayed here for 2 nights after returning from a cruise. It is right in the center of everything and walking distance to some great restaurants. But, don't miss the restaurant upstairs. It is open air and very comfortable. We had free breakfast and a free bottle of wine included in our package and it was still very inexpensive. The room was huge. We had an 11pm flight and the hotel charged $40 to stay longer in the room, which was very reasonable. We highly recommend it.
- robert (6/5): - The hotel was fine and clean. Nothing bad but nothing great. My real problem was when I went to check out and they check my room. I used a small hand towel to wipe off some suave from a burger I got upstairs. They where upset and said they couldn’t clean it. They wanted to charge me. Big picture… how do they wash their towels and sheets then?!!! If sauce is a problem. Disgusting
- Matthew Barry (6/5): - No hot shower at night or the next morning. Cold shower in the morning was pretty unpleasant. Poor internet connection in the rooms so the streaming service for the tv doesn’t work. Spoke to staff about it and he just shrugged his shoulders….
- Roger (10/5): - Great hptel
- Yolanda (6/5): - Terrible wifi reception, a/c did not work, no tv channels, staff unhelpful when asked questions especially when we needed help after having our phone stolen. The area itself is full of graffiti and does not look at all like a tourist destination at all.
- Carina (10/5): - The staff was very nice and accommodating. We arrived a few hours before check-in, but they let us check into our room early. Unfortunately, the heater wasn't working during our stay but we notified the staff of the issue and they responded promptly. They also helped us book a ride to the airport for early in the morning and packed us a breakfast to take with us.
- felixg625 (4/5): NO INTERNET IN THE ROOM - Not horrible. Far for great. just bad quality/price. - I was on a business trip. No internet in the room. Phoned multiple times the reception about the problem. They said every time they were sending someone. Never happened. I had to buy data to work.
I was on the 7th floor with the restaurant on top. It can get noisy. Even the elevator is making noise. Breakfast is more than average (bread, fruits, coffee, orange juice).
For that price range, they could do much better.
Reservation mentioned wine bottle on arrival. Never was offered.
Just pass on that one if you can.
Overpriced for what you are getting.
- david (10/5): Good location - Housekeeping was thorough. Front desk efficient. Breakfast service was pleasant. Terraza restaurante excelente.
- peterfX4901MK (8/5): Pre Cruise Stay. - Booked this centrally located hotel for our three day stay before transferring to San Antonio for our Cape Horn Cruise. This modern hotel had free WiFi and served a really good breakfast. The very large room had a good size seating area and mini kitchen ( no equipment) but we didn’t need it as breakfast was included. Staff were very friendly and helpful and booked our taxi to the coach station. Great service.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great front desk. - Front desk service was great but the hotel room and amenities were only slightly above average and not up to the high rating it has. It should be rated more like 6-7.
- betoatt (8/5): Two day stay - We came off a cruise, an needed a hotel for 2 days to catch flight back to USA. Hotel is centrally located, you can walk to most place from this location. 7 blocks to Hop on Hop Off. rooms was nice an large. Breakfest is limited> if you are coffee person, they only offer you one cup of coffee! if you have to ask for any addtional cups. Biggest issue is that Hotel does no tave a lobby ( reception area is tiny) USA flights leave well past 8PM. check out time is 12 noon. so you have to fine a way to kill afternoon time or fine some place you can just hang out. TV stations i spanish, and you have two romotes to operate the TV.
- M (8/5): Great hotel. - Fantastic location. Super buffet breakfast. Staff was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
- Cory (8/5): - Location was really good, accommodating
and friendly staff. Restaurants near hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Extra large rooms are a nice feature of this hotel. Staff is wonderful, and located next to the market. There is a gentlemens club around the corner on the main floor which is unique, but im sure some people would appreciate it.
- SARAH (8/5): quirky and cute - A small boutique hotel right in the melting pot of tourists and locals, sandwiched on a street between the Starbucks, eye doctors buildings and night clubs with sex club signs in windows. as a single person I had no problems and streets easy to navigate. It is nice to have a kitchenette, but note it is not a furnished kitchen to cook in only to reheat your takeout meals.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, quasi-quiet, good walking distance to some of the things to see and do
- urip2015 (10/5): Very attractive - A modern Hotel, good and well furnitured spacious rooms and very efficient staff. The hotel is clean and situated in the middle of Santiago. The breakfest is really good. The situation allows to walk around to the important sites of the City. Really recomended.
- Sue (8/5): - Staff very pleasant and helpful. Convenient location and within walking distance to many sites.
- albertsebastian (6/5): Nice property in good location - Booked this as it was near restaurants in a nice part of the city. Hotel itself is good, but don't bother getting any assistance to get your bags over the high kerb into the hotel - no one at the door will help. Also we were given a room on the high floor, but neglected to told that there was a roof top bar that was really noisy with drunks all night, even sitting on the steps down to our floor smoking and drinking and talking loudly!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kil. He was so much help. Great location. Within walking distance of so much. We'll definitely stay again if we ever go there again.
- worldgirl11 (10/5): Clean, comfortable and spacious - We really liked this hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, with a kitchenette with microwave and little fridge, and sitting/dining area. Everything you need for a short stay. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is new and clean. Breakfast is great. We stayed for four nights and it was perfect. One negative comment is that we found it slightly noisy - we could clearly hear people talking in their rooms and in the hallways. One night around 10:30 I heard a guy talking on the phone loudly like he was standing right outside my door. When I opened the door to ask him to be more quiet I realized that he was actually inside his room with the door closed! Otherwise, great place and excellent location walking distance to everything downtown.
- rafaelc361 (10/5): Perfect Location in the middle of Santiago - This hotel is centrally located. Perfect for walking around in Santiago. My friends and I were looking for a hotel and we found this one. No complaints. Hotel was clean, a room with three beds and a very nice with breakfast which was included. The room was very clean and with a safe in it. Plenty of hot water for a great shower. We definitely recommend this hotel.
- NandosTravelswithme (10/5): Great center location for walkers - Booked this place for a few days and wasn’t disappointed, fantastic location in the middle of Santiago and great for walking around. The sad part was the city was on lockdown for the unrest. The hotel staff was wonderful and greeted me at 2am, got me to my room and answered all my questions. Clean, quiet and convenient, I fully recommend and will go back.
- Nando (8/5): - Nice property in the downtown area of Santiago, room great location, great room but the breakfast was lacking and I was there during the demonstrations throughout Chile. I do recommend this place for travelers
- MikeS (10/5): - Great location for a one night stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds slept well. No problems with noise during the night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was very helpful with all of our needs. It was just what we were looking for! Thank-you Sommelier staff!
- TripDreammm (10/5): Good choice - · Perfect location, excellent staff - very helpful. Eggs for breakfast were everyday
· If there will be more equipped kitchen, and with place at least to boil eggs, it will be better :)))
No vegetables for breakfast
- M.A. (8/5): - The hotel was located centrally, clean, and well kept. I would recommend the hotel and stay there again! However, I arranged for transportation from the airport to the hotel (through the hotel) but when I exited customs, the driver wasn’t where I was to meet him. Long story short, do not accept “help” from anyone who approaches you while you are waiting for an arranged transfer. Have the hotel number as a contact in your phone before you go, and call the hotel directly to find out if there is a problem with your ride. I accepted “help” from someone who flashed a badge and said he was from airport information services. Basically, I paid over $450 to get to the hotel because I fell for his scam. Thankfully that is all that was lost and I made it to the hotel safely and with all of my belongings. Not blaming the hotel at all...just a warning to not speak to anyone at the airport if you are not familiar with the context in Chile/Latin America.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The housekeeping was worse than I thought.
Coffee at breakfast is excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Easy to get around on foot or walk to the subway. Shops all around the hotel. The staff was very helpful and professional. The breakfast is pretty good too. The rooms are cozy, good size, modern and quiet. I’d gladly stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It had a look about it that felt like being at home.
- ting (8/5): - Location is perfect. People are friendly. They cleaned room after 4pm, too late.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good sized rooms. Restaurants near by. Five minutes walk to big tourist restaurant area. Helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Organised breakfast in our room for 6am when we were leaving early.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good breakfast - Great place to stay as it is well located downtown. The kitchen didn't have many utensils except 2 cups and glasses which didn't matter for us but I'm not sure how you would manage if you wanted to cook food. Friendly staff and a good breakfast with fresh fruit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ok ok experience excellent very good quiet location
- Adrian (6/5): - Close to city center. Breakfast excellent.
The room was not very clean.
- kevin (8/5): Sommelier hotel stay. - It was centrally located to the main sqaure, museums and parks. Breakfast decent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was great. We spoke very little English and they were very good at helping us understand what we needed to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good location. I will stay here again next time.
- Z (10/5): - Centrally located. Everything is within walking distance. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were ever ready to help with enthusiasm. Slept like a log on their very comfortable beds. Water pressure in shower is unparalleled.

- Émile (10/5): A great hotel in the heart of it all - I really enjoyed the spaciousness of the room. Not only was there a kitchenette and an eating area, there was ample closet and storage space. Everything was laid out so well so that the room was not cramped. The sleeping area was set apart so it was very comfortable and one never felt overcrowded. There was even shelves for books and such.
The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast hours were convenient and provided enough to eat.
The hotel was located in the Centro. My room was a corner room with windows that overlooked two main streets; however, the room was very quiet. Best of all, the hotel is located close to transportation and within walking distance of most sites.
- Émile (10/5): A perfect place in the Centro! - When I first arrived in Santiago, I stayed at this hotel and really liked it. I came back to it after travelling elsewhere in Chile.
The rooms are great! There is a lot of storage space and they are laid out so conveniently with a kitchenette as well! It’s a perfect place for a traveller.
It is in easy walking distance of major sites, shops and restaurants. The metro is not far off either. It’s also easy to get to from the airport.
The staff are very kind and always helpful. You feel safe and secure here.
