• Opaleye (5/5): This spot is only ok if you are a single person needing a place to stay just to sleep. - The room was excellent value for the price. There was mold in the room to the point that the room smelled musty. the budget didn't work nor did the bathroom door close fully. The beds were quite hard and the bed was flat. The twin that we had wasn't suitable due to the full view of the bathroom gave to the rest of the room. We ended up sleeping in a 24hr spa or cafe most nights. Also when we arrived there was unexpected construction going on below us that was really loud in the day time. Finally, this is a hostel, not a hotel. I think that must be made clear in the booking from the start.

• Topias (1/5): - Good location The room was extremely moldy — the ceiling, windows, and shower all had mold. We were not able to stay in the room even for one night and had to book another hotel because of this. There was also a hole between the ceiling and the light fixture where cold air was coming through. I also could not reach the staff even though I tried calling.

• Jamila (1/5): Don't go here - Nothing even that 1 ster is to much for this accommodation Terrible Experience – This Place Should Not Be on Booking.com We booked what was advertised as a hotel in South Korea through Booking.com, but when we arrived, it turned out to be a hostel – and an extremely dirty one. The entire place was filthy beyond belief. It was absolutely impossible to stay there. If you want to get sick, this is the place to go. We immediately told them we would not stay and decided to leave, but they refused to give us our money back. This accommodation should not be allowed on Booking.com. It is completely unsafe for human health, and the owners are scammers who try to take your money without providing anything close to what was promised. Avoid this place at all costs.

• Aleksandra (4/5): - Very helpful staff, quite close to subway, fridge in the room, big mirror Quite cold in the room and in the property (although after asking, we got a remote heater for the room). Lack of constant warm water, really difficult to take shower, had to wait long time for a bit of warm water, we were struggling with it every night. The bathroom in the room is made of glass (visible when someone is using it) and was super small with lots of mold inside. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. Everywhere walls are thin, you can hear neighbors talking. Just one hanger for the room.

• tizoc (5/5): No es el mejor hospedaje de dongdaemun, hay mejores en relación calidad precio. - Estuvo barato No existen áreas comunes, es como si entrarás a una cuarteria, dentro del espacio no parecía sucio pero si descuidado, con cosas viejas tiradas en el pasillo. afuera (pasillo para llegar al nivel del hotel estaba súper sucio y viejo. No había espacio de regadera literalmente toda la taza se mojaba cada que te bañabas y no es que estuviera sucio pero se sentía sucio tenía muchas manchas de moho y el lavabo tenía un hueco donde podías ver toda la tubería, la habitación olía a humedad y las paredes eran súper delgadas se podía escuchar lo de los cuartos de a los lados. En las fotos se veía un espacio muy acogedor y al llegar fue todo lo contrario.

L’hôtel a refusé de nous rembourser notre séjour. De ce que nous avons vu (l’entrée) ça ne respire pas la propreté. Le personnel n’est pas conciliant. Nous avons perdu beaucoup d’argent pour rien. • Munkhtsetseg (1/5): Bad - The room in this hotel was much worse than the picture, it was cold, inaccessible and ugly. As soon as I got into the room, I asked to get my money back, saying that I couldn't stay in such a bad hotel, but the hotel staff angrily told me that I wouldn't refund my money and immediately kicked me out.
• Kayla (7/5): Good - The room was as expected, great location, very close to train links and the staff were accommodating to our late night check in which we really appreciated. The room was a tad cold as we were there when it snowed but nothing a few extra layer couldn't fix.

• Nur (6/5): You should fix your customer service skills. - Its quite near to DDP Plaza and Dongdaemun Subway Station. Easy transportation and located at not secluded area. Its located at 3rd floor so I probably could not bring my parent here next time. The toilet do have weird smell.

• Julia (5/5): Passable - The location was fairly okay for the city. The bathroom was inside the room, it was divided only with glass. It was not stated in the description or in the pictures. Additionally, the bathroom was not clean and so small that when you were using shower water was splashing over the toilet which was connected to the electricity.

• Susanna (10/5): Exceptional - I had great time in Seoul at Philstay! So close to DDP e subway line 2 o go everywhere in Seoul! Very comfortable room, cleaned and silenced.
• Amira (7/5): Good for a short stay - The hotel is in a good location, literally 5 mins walk from DDP. Not too far from main tourist sites (Myeongdong, Hongdae etc). The area itself also has a lot to do and see near DDP like shops, cafes etc. The staff helped us with our bags at check-in and we had to modify our booking to leave early, which they helped us with. If you're only concerned about having a no frills place to stay/short stay (we only stayed 2 nights) and you're not fussy, then it's okay. The room is obviously really small, so if you're two people with a lot of luggage I wouldn't recommend the size. The shower is a wet room shower so that can be inconvenient as everything gets wet especially because it's quite small. Also, the bidet didn't work during our stay.

• Felipe (8/5): Very good - Location was pretty good and good pressure on the showers. Also, staff was super helpful. We made a mistake with our booking. We booked for one person instead of two. We were ready to pay the full difference, but they said it was their fault too so only charged us half. It was a nice gesture. Thank you Room was quite small

The location was great too, many convenient stores, cafes and restaurants close by and less than 10 mins to subway and bus. The room was smaller than expected.

• Ralf (6/5): Economic and clean option to stay in Seoul, if your expactations are not too high - Location was good. Not far from a subway station, so everything could be reached easily. Staff was friendly, the pricing economic and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom (including toilet) in the room with transparent (though not see-through) walls which can be uncomfortable. Luggage has to be carried over several narrow staircases. The rooms are not well isolated towards noises from other rooms.

• Bayasgalan (1/5): Looks NOTHING like the pictures. - Nothing The room looked nothing like the pictures, no window, no appropriate separate bathroom. The bathroom was “separated” with glass. They don’t clean the room at all and we questioned whether or not the sheets were even changed. There is no elevator so you have to carry your suitcases up 3-4 levels of stairs. Too dirty.

Good location, right next to the ddp and shopping mall, can easily connect with the rest of the city. There was a leak in the shower and water temperature was irregular.

• BKNYC2424 (4/5): Don’t recommend unless you’re on a budget - Pro: good location Con: Room was tiny & didn’t look like the picture. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything and you must be quiet all of the time. The bathroom is small, smelly and there was black mold on the ceiling causing me to cough everyday I stayed there. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. There is no elevator. Overall, the hotel is very outdated and dirty. There is never any staff around, only when you check in and out.

• Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing - The property is near Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, as well as the metro station. There's WiFi and the staff member was kind enough to help us with our baggage. The property rooms don't look like the ones on the pictures on the website, at least not the room we got. You have to be quiet at all times as other people can hear everything. The people next to us were so loud in the middle of the night and made it hard for us to rest. The washing machines were unserviceable, there are no elevators, and the beds are quite hard.

Positive experience & Recommend. :) - the location is extremely convenient (Within 10 minutes walk to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park station with line 2, 4, 5) and very easy to find (located very close to Novotel Dongdaemun). The staff are extremely kind, helpful, and friendly. Although it’s on the 3rd floor with no elevator, you don’t have to worry about baggage because the staff will help you and you can also leave baggage for last day explore before leaving to the airport as well. The price is extremely good for how convenient the location is and how kind the staff are!!!! Would recommend for friends, couples, or even solo travellers. (NOT a complain to the place AT ALL - mainly our fault for not double checking) We stayed as a couple and our room had 2 single beds in opposite end so it was a little difficult squeezing 2 people on a 1-person bed. But it was no problem at all and we had great and comfortable rest through our 4-nights stay. Again, NOT a complain to the place AT ALL. If you’re a couple do double check if the room has 2 single beds or 1 twin bed. :)

The most convenient way for transport is get off at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park MTR station, go to the direction of 11 12 13 14 exit, then you will arrive the underground shopping center of Euljiro, go to the exit 3, get to the ground and you will see a really big hotel, Phill Stay will be at the path nearby.

• Zhao (10/5): It was good. - There was no breakfast that I'm aware of, if they did they didn't say anything to me. Staff was very kind taking my luggage up to my room for me and was able to accommodate holding my luggage after checkout. My room had multiple inoperative lights and no AC control, but they fixed that issue next day once I notified staff.

• Syed (8/5): Very good - You get what you pay for, suitable for travellers who don't mind not getting top accomodation comfort, but still wants just the right amount of comfort. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful, carried our luggages and spoke a bit of English, could see his effort in trying to communicate with us for our own convenience.

The room is super small and had a super small window overlooking the hallway, so there was no fresh air or sunlight coming, and a bit claustrophobic. The walls are like made of paper, I could hear everything from other rooms like we are in the same room. There are only 2 face towels, and they didn't seem clean, same as bedsheets! The stuff is never there, I saw the receptionist only during check in, he was nice, though.

The best is that the staff is very helpful and super nice! - The location is so great because it's easy to take off at DDP Exit 6 and just walk a little bit. The cleanness is great. The most thing we love about is that the staff is amazing, very helpful and such as nice person for us. The hot water is a little bit not stable, the hotel should fix this so it will be so great.

• Madlala (1/5): be honest let people know what they’re paying for - The guy at the front desk helped us with our bags There’s no elevator, The Tv does not work, the fridge does not work, the AC does not work . when I booked they lied and said the rooms were soundproof I could hear the person in the next room breathing that’s how small those rooms are. some rooms have no windows I don’t even wanna talk about the bathroom it’s inhumane. we had to use the subway station bathroom because the one in our room was not good no privacy it’s like a bathroom jail.

• Hanny.s (9/5): Superb - It's just a stone away from Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a safe neighborhood (police station just right in front of the hostel), easy access to public transportation like subway and buses, and staff are so nice. It's located on the 3rd floor, no elevator
• David (7/5): It is a very basic room, with no chair, but if all you need is a private room with a private bath... - The location is about a five minute walk from the intersection of three subway lines, which makes it easy to get nearly anywhere in the city. It is steps away from a large Novotel Hotel in a busy neighborhood with many restaurants, shops, and the Sparex sauna jjimjilbang. The kitchen is on the roof, accessible only by going outside on the seventh floor, with no elevator. It was usually locked, with no one at the front desk. No one answered the phone to call from the front desk. So, the kitchen was unusable until I left a note the last night to open it in the morning. It was. A simple microwave on a lower floor would have helped.

• Josie (9/5): Amazing staff! - The person who works here is amazingly friendly! Not only did he help us up with our bags, he also recommended us a restaurant that wasn't a touristy place and so it had great, authentic Korean food! Not only did he recommend it to us, he actually took us there and helped us order! The host with the most! You will be hard pressed to find such a great host! The room is rather small but it is big enough to stay for a short time! Clever storage holes under the bed big enough for suitcases to be put so you can have a little floor room! There isn't a lift! However, the host did come and help us with our bags!
