Great food.
Kind staff. Ground level has vehicles parked straight outside your window. No screen on the window. I did not see a way to lock the window partly open.

- Andrew (10/5): Quiet, Clean and comfortable - Staff were very friendly and accommodating. rooms were large, clean and comfortable. I hade a great stay with my girlfriend and puppy, would recommend Wished there was a microwave available in the room, just coffee maker and fridge but not a big issue
- Ken's Luck (9/5): -
- Peter (8/5): - Nice hotel and staff. Their dining room was not open so we had to settle for pub food
- Louise (8/5): Very nice - Great staff, very clean and comfortable, good food Rooms not very soundproof and I wish there was a place to hang wet coats near the door. It was VERY wet when we were there and the place to hang wet outerwear dripped all over the 2nd place to sit.
- Yoon Ji (7/5): Acceptable stay, some things could be improved - Very comfortable beds, quiet at night, nice shower with good water pressure.
The pub downstairs is also great for a drink and the staff is friendly. The heating system is incredibly noisy; we had to turn it off at night despite the cold weather. I had read about this in other comments, it seems they haven't made the necessary arrangements yet.
When we arrived, there was a very strong smell in the room, I think it was dog smell.. We were too tired to ask for a room change. I understand it's a pet-friendly establishment, but they should disinfect and clean more thoroughly.
The cleaning staff made the bed, but left the pajamas lying on the floor (which were on the bed before)... that was just rude.
- Boyle (10/5): - The fact the rooms were exactly as shown with the native pride was absolutely perfect..I am not aboriginal but love the artwork..And the fact they really show it is fantastic. The pub well ...Was there for superbowl...speaker system not working...Some one had to stream from phone to a speaker...ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE..yes better than nothing ...The food..well ...HORRIBLE...service well it was lacking but that cant be blamed on 1 person pubs get busy I get it ...
- Scott (7/5): - Little Bar fridge froze everything you pit in it.
- Leifang (10/5): -
- Irina (10/5): -
- Emil (9/5): -
- Claire (10/5): An enjoyable stay - many thanks - Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Nothing. All good
- toby (10/5): - The staff were really helpful and friendly and checking in late during the night was no issue.
- Grant (5/5): For the price, I would have expected better staff resourcing and having a clean room daily. - The staff were friendly. This included the meal staff as well as the front counter staff. The hotel seemed to be woefully understaffed. The room was not cleaned daily, or towels refreshed due to insufficient resources. Also, the meal staff were overworked due to having insufficient coverage.

- Andrea (8/5): The staff were very nice/helpfull. - It’s comfortable. NA
- Jillian (9/5): -
- Laszlo (8/5): -
- Robert (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - restaurant is highly recommended. - Very comfortable beds. The restaurant is exceptional with well prepared dishes and very good selection of BC wines - a real gem that is highly recommended. Also a fun pub that has a good kitchen.
- Tracy (1/5): We should have skipped it and stayed somewhere else. - On the second night we ate at the pub/restaurant and the food and staff in there were great.
The art and general design is unique and quite nice. Front desk check in woman was disorganized, abrasive, and unprofessional. The restaurant was closed the night we got there and the pub was set up for a private event. Neither of these were advised at time of booking or arrival. We got our own food to take back to our room to realize that they don’t even have microwaves in the room. The shower floor was clearly not installed properly and was very loud when you moved and felt like the floor was going to cave in. We had to take the toilet lid off to manually force the tank to fill in order to flush. The TV was set up so you could only use your own accounts like Netflix etc, couldn’t even watch local news. The price isn’t worth it, you get nothing but a bed to sleep in.
- Ken's Luck (10/5): -
- Tiffany (8/5): -
- Terry (10/5): - The Staff were very helpful, happy, polite. Nothing every thing was excellent
- Annie (10/5): -
- Brandi (10/5): -
- Aleksa (10/5): - Beautiful accommodations! Comfortable bed and spacious room. Stunning artwork and meaningful cultural significance! Loved the food options. It would be wonderful to have more choices for the dishes prepared.
- muesu71 (8/5): - - Fußläufig Sportbar & Supermarkt erreichbar
- Parkplatz inklusive
- schöne Zimmer, bequemes Bett, gute Dusche (keine Badewanne!), Wasserkocher & Kühlschrank
- Aufzug
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Don (7/5): It was just ok - The bed was really comfortable The maid service was terrible. Didn’t take my garbage or recycling and did not replenish my coffee or to go cups. Ran out of toilet paper.
- Elaine (10/5): Excellent facility and the fine dining room food and service top notch. The rooms good size, well appointed and comfort -
- Ronald (10/5): Good place to stay n - Awesome Middle of town
- Edward (10/5): Very nice stay -
- Markus (7/5): -

- jjluke (8/5): Nice Indigenous themed hotel with great restaurant on site - Kwa'lilas Hotel is one of the few choices available in around Port Hardy and likely your best bet for accommodation. The hotel is large complex with a recent update decorated in indigenous theme. The hotel's Ha'me restaurant was an incredible fine dining experience. The room itself was well appointed, front desk check in was good, and the sage scented toiletries were a plus. The room was clean overall, but better focus on cleaning in some spots would have been appreciated (see shower picture), as well it was pricier to stay relative to other hotels during our island vacation.
- Victor (9/5): Nice food, friendly staff. - Breakfast nice. Location suited my needs. Bed was comfortable. Having to work out which way to walk from the elevator to reception. You look both ways and the look the same.
- Ashok (3/5): Not a good experience. - The location. We were disappointed with the level of service at reception. The staff member we interacted with was uncommunicative and discourteous. Despite requesting room cleaning earlier in the day, it had not been completed by the time we returned that evening. When we asked to change rooms, there was no acknowledgment of the oversight or any effort to make amends. While the room was eventually changed, it caused inconvenience—we had to move all our belongings and our puppy experienced unnecessary stress.
The checkout process was also delayed due to a system glitch, adding to the frustration. There was a different person at the reception who thankfully took some decisions and closed out the process as we had to drive back all the way to Nanaimo for our ferry.
Additionally, the hot water was unavailable due to boiler issues, which had not been communicated to us in advance.
Overall, the experience fell short of expectations and reflected poor service.
- Thomas (10/5): I enjoyed the decor and atmosphere in this hotel. - Very friendly staff. Very nice reception area. Everything was spotless clean. Great decor. A gym would be a great addition to this hotel.
- Nadine (7/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Best in Hardy! - Clean and quiet. Good coffee in the restaurant.
- ricki-marie (9/5): - The staff was amazing and I like that you had a shop Someone had a dog in their room that was barking for awhile. It was not terrible, but i would rather there not being a bark dog in our room.
- AnnieHG (9/5): Lovely hotel which suited us well - Hotel ambience with unusual art work . Comfy bed
Needs to leave at 5:15am for ferry check out was very smooth Room not ready at 4 pm when we arrived . Discount for breakfast at the the cafe but not for other meals
- Iryna (8/5): -
- Kirsten (8/5): -
- Amelita (6/5): -
- Isabel (8/5): -
- Kianna (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- Andy (10/5): -
- Ann R. (6/5): Satisfactory with comfortable bed. - Breakfast started too late for us to eat before having to leave for the ferry. Some kind of bagged breakfast sandwich or something like that would sure be a nice thing to be offered at check-in or check-out The bannock on the salmon bannock burger was so tough I could not cut it with a knife and could barely bite through it. This was at the pub.
The walls were thin between our room and the neighbours.
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Great stay - thank you! - My stay at the hotel was great. Rooms are recently renovated and clean. Shower is large and good water pressure. Staff was super friendly. At 2 nights at the adjoining pub - great food! Try the salmon (in any variety offered). Hotel is walking distance to town centre, supermarket, liquor store, etc.
- William (10/5): - Very good
- Justin (10/5): - Would have liked to have seen more vegan options in there restaurant
- Bernard (9/5): - Gorgeous facility Nothing
- Mark (9/5): -
- Nadine (8/5): - Only criticism is that the cleaners need to do a better job cleaning the shower. There was quite a bit of pink surface mildew in the shower that could be easily wiped off.
