• Shanice (3/5): Disappointing stay due to poor communication, lack of upkeep, and an overall stressful experience. - The room and restaurant area were clean, and the staff member who checked me in was welcoming. The location was also convenient. The overall experience was not relaxing. The pool, which is one of the main facilities, was not properly maintained and was visibly dirty during my stay. I did request that it be cleaned, which it eventually was, but the initial condition was disappointing. Communication was lacking throughout my stay, especially regarding breakfast, as it was never explained that orders needed to be placed the night before. This lack of communication limited my options, and I was left having to choose from what was available rather than what I actually wanted when I went down in the morning. While one or two staff members were welcoming, the overall service felt cold and unengaged. I ultimately chose to check out early, and there was no acknowledgment or follow-up from management, which left a poor final impression.

Pleasant. They were able to rectify an issue with our reservation in advance of our arriving. How the hotel was lit up and lights around the pool. Pretty. Too many steps including the small ones. The bar was a disappointment. Prices were ridiculously high compared to outside. Bartender did not seem to know much. Told only 2 fruit/alcholic drinks to chose from.. Bedrooms were small and very basic. Bathroom had a window pane missing so mosquitoes were coming in.

• David (10/5): Amazing - I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and valued. A special shoutout to the chef, whose food was outstanding—authentic Jamaican cuisine that easily earns a solid 9/10. Every meal was flavorful and truly captured the essence of the island. The gentleman at the front desk was equally impressive—friendly, professional, and always ready to help. His excellent service really elevated the whole experience. The location is perfect, making it easy to get around and enjoy the surroundings, and the hotel itself offers great value for money. Overall, my experience was a 10/10, and I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended! Food staff and location

It was a very good experience overall would recommend. I didn’t like that the bathrooms didn’t have an electric socket to use.

Se escolhe panqueca, não pode escolher bacon), restaurante mais ou menos e caro, funcionários pouco solícitos. Para adiantar o check-in cobraram, mas atrasaram a entrega das chaves. Me arrependi de não ter alugado um Airbnb.
• Merlin (9/5): Great staff who are willing to go the extra mile for their customers. - Our Team used the "Apple" Villa which sleeps 8. Villa Rental does not include meals due to the furnished Kitchen. We did however enjoy 2 breakfasts which were sufficient, timely and the dining area is very nice. Each of the bedrooms had a separate bathroom and shower. The pool area was very nice. Easy in and out with steps down into the pool, ambient lighting for evening swimming, a fine Cabana. The Owner is working daily to improve the tile work, handrails, ramps, etc. The patio area with bar and fun lighting is very nice for medium size groups. There are a lot of steps.

• Clive (5/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms cleaned everyday. The renovated queen room was not as what we expected. There was no mirror in the room. The were no tea or coffee if required. The coffee maker had to be replaced as was not heating water. There were no draws to put anything in. There was a leak of water in the wardrobe coming from the shower. The balcony was always wet when it rained and never drained off. The AC unit could not be used with remote so had to switch off at the mains all the time. There were always the same choice for breakfast, which was monotonus for 14 days. When breakfast was served cold we were told to use the microwave, if served it should be hot!

We had a vegan with us and chef Ishmael accommodated their dietary needs (even making fried dumplings the vegan way ☺️) and the vegan options were great. The food overall was mouthwatering and I love the fact that you can now purchase dinner at the property. (PS... Please keep this chef.. the food is amazing 🤩 .It was also renovated so that's an awesome plus. Match Resort is our go to resort every single year. Ms. Maria at the front desk is always exceptional 😊

• Laura (2/5): - My experience at this property was extremely disappointing. 1. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the presence of roaches crawling on the furniture and across the floor. This immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. 2. When I attempted to take a shower, I discovered that the water wouldn’t drain properly. I was forced to shower while standing in stagnant water, which was both uncomfortable and unsanitary. 3. The bathroom also lacked basic privacy and safety. The window was missing its glass pane and was left open, with only a burglar bar installed on the inside. This made me feel exposed and unsafe throughout my stay. I reported these issues verbally to a supervisor, who assured me that I would receive a follow-up call, but no one ever reached out. Upon checkout, I brought up the condition of the property again to the front desk manager, but he was dismissive and unprofessional, showing no concern for the issues I raised including the infestation and poor maintenance. Overall, this stay was unacceptable, and I would not recommend this property to anyone.

• Anna (4/5): Auf keinen Fall das Geld wert! Viel zu teuer für das,was man bekommt! - Der Pool war echt schön und auch sauber. Die Terrasse zum Essen war auch schön angelegt. Gemütlich, mit Lichterketten. Auch schöner großer Balkon mit Ausblick auf das Meer. Auch das Zimmer war schön groß. Das Personal war echt sehr lieb und hilfsbereit! Das Treppenhaus und besonders das Zimmer waren nicht sauber. Der Boden im Zimmer war total verdreckt. Auf dem Balkon und an den Balkontüren waren überall Farbreste vom Streichen! Es gab auch keine (wie bei booking beschrieben) Gemeinschaftsküche, die man nutzen konnte!Das war einer der Hauptgründe für mich diese Unterkunft zu nehmen! Ventilator funktionierte nicht mehr, Balkontüre ließ sich nicht verschließen und insgesamt war das Zimmer für den stolzen Preis echt schmuddelig! Der Manager reagierte weder auf telefonische noch auf schriftliche Anfragen! Auf mich macht es den Eindruck: Personal zwar sehr freundlich- Hotel schlecht geführt!

Everything is falling apart, needs a lot of TLC. The water is the pool was cloudy, the lounge chairs by the pool were dirty and broken. They need to spend some money to bring this place to life. The landscaping and the building are very dirty and disheveled. No maintenance at all. Even the sign is broken. I can’t believe they care about that place. The place has a lot of potential, the owner needs to care about his investment and do better.

• Kimberley (8/5): - Lovely stay with just one issue. We stayed at Match Resort for one night from Saturday to Sunday and overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The lobby was beautifully decorated with pictures and artwork showcasing Jamaican culture, which gave it a warm and inviting feel. Check-in at the front desk was seamless, and the staff were friendly and professional. One feature I especially appreciated was how breakfast orders are taken at the front desk upon check-in. This made the breakfast experience smooth and efficient the next morning. Speaking of breakfast, the stew chicken was absolutely delicious! The pool area was lovely and well-maintained, and the pool itself was very clean. I also loved the coconut ice cream sold on the property such a refreshing treat! The only downside to my stay was a room mix-up. I had booked two king rooms one for myself and one for my sister. While my sister received a spacious and beautifully decorated king room, I was given a much smaller queen room due to an apparent oversight. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so no changes could be made. This was disappointing, especially since the room type had been booked in advance. I would recommend that management double-check room assignments, particularly for online bookings, to ensure guests receive exactly what they paid for. Despite that hiccup, Match Resort is a charming hotel with great service, clean facilities, and a relaxing atmosphere.

• Richard (3/5): Disappointed and DISASTER - The front desk lady when we checked in was pleasant. She was the younger girl and she is the only reason this did not get a zero rating. I booked in March. Called twice since the. To verify I had two rooms. Got there they did not have my rooms at all. Eventually we got “upgraded” to their so called suite. It was so small, the bed was on a slant, and was rock hard! The shower floor did not feel secure at all it felt like you were going to fall through the floor. If that was an upgrade I hate to see the regular rooms. My second room had to go to another hotel down the road. Looked abandoned and they had no A/C. I WILL be requesting a refund through booking.

Very slow service. Kitchen staff were clearly stretched - we cancelled our dinner order after waiting 45 minutues and then being told chef was attending to a large group and had not yet started our meal.
