Guest Reviews
- Jeanette (2/5): - Room needs to be updated needs new bedding it’s soiled there was no hot water.
- Jameson (2/5): Most disgusting hotel I’ve ever seen - This was single handily the worst hotel I’ve every laid eyes on the room smelled like a dirty ash tray accompanied by the bathroom that smelled like a public urinal goo on the carpet along with bugs and who knows what on the walls we left and got another hotel room in Brawley and the hotel refused to refund me they said they would only refund me for one day even though I was there for maybe twenty minutes arrival to departure
- Jimmy (2/5): - I want a refund. How is this place allowed to operate on Expedia? Peeling wallpaper, broken items, bugs everywhere, 3 types of bugs including rochaes in room. Decrepit! Avoid.
- Curtis (6/5): So So - The room was clean and nicely furnished, but the bedding was a bit old/worn. Bathroom cleanliness could be better. Fridge didn't work and the AC was quite noisy. It was a place to stay in the middle of nowhere. I've been in worse.
- Angelica (10/5): - Very cozy
- Harmany (4/5): - Not clean
- Yelena (8/5): - Good place to stay to explore the area around Salton Sea. Old and not well maintained. Stuff is nice and friendly.
- Cara (8/5): - Depak at the counter was very nice & accommodating; however the first room I was put in was not clean at all, bugs in toilet and obviously not cleaned after last use. I insisted on another room; which was provided but the property needs a LOT of attention@
- Darin (10/5): - The owners were extremely accommodating and very nice the price per night was low and we were comfortable while there
- Robert (4/5): - The door to my room would not open unless you put all your weight into forcing it open. The manager showed me how it was done. I was going to ask for another room, but my guess is they were all the same: rundown, dirty, lukewarm water, torn drapes, pool and hot tub were drained
- Francisco (8/5): - The overall solace.
- Genevieve (2/5): - We checked into one room that looked like it needed service. Went back to the front desk and got a new room. Walked into the new room and that room was just as disgusting as the first room. So we left! We paid for two nights on Expedia and could not stay there!
- Jim (4/5): - Not dirty exactly but not very clean either . The sink leaked and the faucet was faulty. The property is in poor condition. The door lock was funky. No restaurant in town. It was quiet though!
- Joshua (2/5): - Bugs in the blankets, dirty towels, horrible experience.
- Nelda (2/5): - I like that it was in the area I needed but it was a bait and switch. It was filthy run down dead bugs everywhere. Spiders dust everywhere didn't even stay there one night. Couldn't stay there because of my granddaughter's asthma. Please make sure you know where you're getting. Do not sign anything till you look. It was a horrible experience and I do not want anybody to go through that
- Hilda (2/5): - The worst place ever!!! Over priced and nothing works. The picture they have online are fake. Nothing is clean the room has bugs everywhere. The guy in the front desk was rude. When I went in to tell him nothing worked, and that the room was dirty he told me I had no choice as he couldn’t change my room. Refused to give me a refund. Please don’t stay here
- Alice (2/5): - Room looked like someone was living there, very run down
- Randy (2/5): -
The place is so filthy. The bathroom is disgusting... toilet not cleaned, bugs everywhere, tub filthy and the towels have, what looks like, blood stains and black stains and the crickets and spiders are everywhere. Cobwebs with spiders and carpet beetles all literally all over the walls and windows. Indoors and outdoors.
The mini fridge looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years and smells bad. Mini bar smells awful.
Broken furniture, trash and broken washing machines were sitting around the waterless pool.
Broken ice machine. Broken sidewalks.
There was also a serious problem checking in. If we could give less than 1 star we would.
- Todd (10/5): - Great proximity to just about everything!!
- Randy Scott (2/5): - Reserved a room for two landscaping crew members. They checked in, took showers. When one laid down in the bed he started to itch after about 15 minutes. He pulled back the covers and found blood stains on the sheet. He found bite marks on his arms. Needless to say, they didn't stay.
They went in to talk to the host on duty but got nowhere. The seemed to be a communication issue.
- oscar (10/5): - They were super nice, friendly, and helpful!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Discriminates against disabled guests - Staff is rude and illegally refused my service animal.
- Jose (10/5): - Found a dead spider on my sink.
Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Managee was very friendly.
- Joseph (8/5): - Not a lot of options in the vicinity but it was surprisingly nice especially for the price
- Creva (2/5): - I would share the pictures but where???
- Christine (4/5): - There was a cockroach dying in the bathroom, the bathmat and bedspread were both stained, the floor wasn't vaccuumed, the air conditioner and the ceiling fan made noise, the room smelled musty like it hadn't been opened in a long time. We will not be back.
- Christina (2/5): - The room was disgusting. Hair on the bed under the yellow stained pillows, the photos of this place have to be about 15 years old. Didn’t even attempt to vacuum, or wipe the mirror, blood on the floor in the bathroom, also hair an half used bar of soap from someone before me, it was so bad I checked for another room an drove 20 minutes away in the middle of the night. Do your self a favor an read some reviews- all of em matched what I experienced.
- Ricardo (2/5): nasty place - the bed was broken, and the sofa had stains on it. the mini fridge was dirty and the microwave had left over stains
- KWANG (10/5): - Okey
- Abdul Majid (2/5): - The heather not working
- Warren (4/5): - Dirty bathroom.
- lorena (4/5): - Place was dirty, refrigerator unplugged and dirty no water pressure in shower. No coffee pot as posted in website.
- Leira (10/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here for Salvation mountain trip which was beautiful. The town has only Donut shop ( delicious Sandwiches) and Doller general. Me and my girl crossed the border to get a Sushi lunch. Had a interesting great trip staying here! Super quiet! If u dont mind the bit of Cow smell this is a very chill Inn.
- Lilian (2/5): Bad stay at this Hotel - Stay was terrible. Had cockaroches in the room and bathroom. Sheets were not clean. Will noy stay here again.
- vickilynne (6/5): - It was as expected for a fishing trip..
- Brittany (2/5): - The room was filthy, not hot water, toilet would not flush, dirty soap in the shower which obviously had not been cleaned. There were multiple spiders in the corners of the walls and spider eggs on the floors by the baseboards. When the front desk was advised of this they said they were aware and didn't try to remedy the situation and they were very nasty. When this was reported to Expedia and an Expedia agent asked about this, the person at the front desk admitted it was all true and he was nasty to the Expedia agent as well. The room was unsafe and unhealthy and management doesn't care. I would guess that the all the rooms are that way and would caution anyone who thinks of staying there to not do it.
- thomas (8/5): - Not much going on in this town so happy this place is here. The owner is doing his best.
- CHAU-CHIN (4/5): - Everything in poor condition, except tv. The smell is not well,
- Gary (10/5): - Very nice building but needs some attention to details. Mr Deepak was very nice and accommodating.
- Gregoria (8/5): - I enjoyed the hospitality
- Mauricio (8/5): - Even though is in the middle of nowhere property is in decent conditions. You can tell is an old building that needs some renovations but overall was good. There were some sketchy people hanging around area but not much to worry about.
- Eric (2/5): - Just don’t.
- jennifer (4/5): - The staff was very friendly. But the room was dirty the shower was dirty and falling apart sink was gross.
- Janey (6/5): - Older hotel
I couldn't get the door open
Wi-Fi password written on a scrap of paper
- Corrie (8/5): - The room have spider webs, dirt on counters, didn't even sleep under sheets. Surrounding area had no rooms available for us to move to. We ended up leaving early because of the condition.
- William (2/5): - Room was full of spiders including inside the bed... ended up leaving one hour later and never went back...i would really like a refund...
- Ericka (6/5): - Pleasant and quaint owner. Not the cleaniest, however it served its purpose
- Chris (4/5): - Broken down hotel, the only thing that really worked properly was the TV. The only restaurant that showed on Google Maps was out of business. If it was not prepaid, I would have gone to another town and found a hotel.
- Richard (8/5): - Pool was not open but staff very friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It wasn’t clean. The water didn’t get hot
- Brandon (2/5): - This hotel is clearly not cleaned. The man and his wife are living in the lobby. It appears they have house keepers but I’m not sure what they do. The hotel needs to be reported to health and safety. We won’t be staying again. The man is extremely rude.
- Ariana (8/5): - Enjoyed the property itself, amenities a little outdated.
- Mirtha (2/5): - The room had no light in the bathroom only. By the bed side couldn't take a shower too dark
- Reaksmey m (4/5): - This hotel is very dirty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): False advertising - False advertising website shows the pool is open. The pool was been closed for years. Other hotels with pools are open currently. The A/c is set on a timer and doesn't cool the room
- Mike (2/5): Big No - The place looked bad, not clean, no other guests staying on site.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The lighter of the entrance Light does not work.
the hair dryer bracket was not screwed on.
when I wanted to close my account, no one attended me.
- Andrew (8/5): - Great location for getting to Wister WLA at the 3am check in time.
- Lance (8/5): Affordable option for those with business in Calip - Calipatria, California. Southern shore of the Salton Sea.
My wife and I were on a business trip investigating the Salton Sea and the recent buzz of eco-friendly green jobs coming to the region.
Often sited as being an economically disadvantaged area, the towns dotting the shores of California's largest lake, could be considered an eyesore to most. From Bombay Beach to Niland, abandoned homes and businesses seem to be the norm. One conjures images of what a post-apocalyptic society would look like.
A Ghost town.
Yet, even among these dismal conditions, hope pervades.
The Calipatria Inn, run by a friendly gentleman by the name Dipeck, is an example of how optimism and hope for a better tomorrow, keep business alive.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away - The room I was given was very gross. There were holes in the curtains and blankets. The blankets had stains so I slept in full clothes on top of the blankets! There were dead roaches on the side of the refrigerator and there was a loud buzzing noise coming from the bathroom wall that was ear piercing. The noise was non stop from the moment I got there up until I left.
- Susan (4/5): - Very dilapidated and dirty. Trash outside, swimming pool green, not clean inside, bedding barely fit. Old fashioned TV. We decided not to shower so can't speak to that.
The whole town is a mess and it was hard to find somewhere to eat. Grocery store was limited too.
I am sorry for the folks from there but there is no excuse for the state of that hotel. Everyone has a broom
- Kathleena (2/5): - It was dirty. Not enough towels or toilet paper. No tissue. Sink was clogged. Linens were disgusting. It used to be a nice hotel. Not anymore.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very dirty. Crickets everywhere even in the bed. Spider webs on the couch. Other people's hairs everywhere. Every linen had stains on them and looked liked they were never washed.
- Hilda (2/5): - Room was super dirty bed sheets were dirty had stains there was dirt everywhere it was dusty the fridge had leftover food from the last people that stayed there there was bugs in the bathroom dead crickets live crickets
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The best part was seeing it in the rear view of the vehicle. Of course, to get that far required dealing with the police being called twice to come and remove us from the room we had already paid for a late checkout to occupy. This was after the illegal construction taking place next door caused my spouse to lose their vision. The construction crew also lives in the rear parking lot in a shanty styled Shanghai-La. the owner watches people obsessively and overall it’s a pretty weird scene.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - First the positives:
This was very close to the Slab City, East Jesus, and Salvation Mountain areas which is what we wanted to explore. The outside looks exactly as the photo and was right off of the main road so was easy to see even as Google for some reason thought it was 0.3 miles further south. The shower worked well and was clean and the bed was comfortable and king size.
The negatives were the place was dusty in the corners of the room and the floor did not look vacuumed. I'm one of the few apparently who like in room coffee maker and I normally use the free coffee but bring my own in case and I do always run a couple of pots of water through to clean it out.
No free coffee in the room to use? Worse the pot and maker was very dusty, even inside the pot and a dead spider was in the pot. I did not try to clean or use it because it was too much.
Cleaned a dead cricket in the bathroom and another dead bug by the couch.
It would have been all good had the place just been much better cleaned.
Minor negatives were the AC works oddly and seemingly homeless people living across the way. The AC blows cold air so works but it turns off after a very short time so takes a long while to cool the room down.
The parking lot is dirt so may want somewhere else if rain is in the forecast.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! The room was filthy, the pool was stagnant, and the place appeared to be a Mexican cartel stash house. Do not stay here!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Outstanding Review for Calipatria Inn and Suites - The Calipatria Inn and Suites was great. Very clean, friendly staff the room was excellent. The landscape was very nice and comforting. Greeted with smiles at all times of the day or night. Very helpful staff. Room was great, all appliances were working and room was well stocked. Great place to go :) Thank you Calipatria Inn and Suites.
- Christophe (2/5): - Dirty hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing
- Yesenia (2/5): Stay away - Horrible stay
Very dirty and disgusting
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing was good from this hotel. It smelled very bad since the begining until end. COULDN'T STAY HERE EVEN THOUGH I HAD PAID 85 DOLLARS TO STAY, I HAD TO DRIVE 30 MORE MINS TO STAY AT A FAM. MEMBERS HOME. I WAS VERY SUPER UPSET LOOSING MY MONEY FOR NOTHING. IT WAS VERY SMELLY, BED WAS FILTHY DIRTY, BATHROOM WAS VERY DIRTY AS WELL AS PILLOWS. I TOTALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, I WISH I COULD'VE GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place was dirty. No coffee in the room. Dirty coffee pot.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
Room was dirty.
Refrigerator had spills and crude in it.
Coffee pot and tray it sat on had dirt and dried coffee on it.
Phone did not work and was filthy.
Had to ask for wash clothes.
When pointed this out to personal from motel, was told it was not dirty and other people never complained.
When I questioned again about state of room, was told they were up to California code for corvid 19, which I guess means they don't have to clean up rooms.
We have traveled all of our states and this is the second room we have ever been this disappointed in.
We do not recommend staying here.
- Samantha (2/5): DON'T EVEN BOTHER - The first thing I noticed is how unsafe the area seems. The guy at the counter was extremely rude. He also told me twice that the room was non smoking after I assured him that we are non smokers and then the room REEKED of cigarettes. Everything in the room was disgusting. The bathroom and bed were gross enough to leave immediately. The sheets were stained and torn. The mattress came from a horror movie. He of course did not refund me but you couldn't have paid me to stay and there's no where else to stay for a while. Driving another hour to get away from that awful place was the best choice.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Unfortunately this hotel needs considerable deep cleaning and updates. The room I stayed in looked as though it hadn’t been touched in months. The walls floor countertops and bathroom were disgusting. The towels were stained and ripped.
- Randal (8/5): - It was a nice experience. No complaints.
- gilbert (2/5): The pictures are not the current condition - The hotel was torn apart and the grounds were unkept. The rooms were very old and very dirty. We had no other place to go or we would not have stayed
- William (2/5): I would rather sleep in my truck. - The room was absolutely terrible, mold in the mini fridge, stains all over and pillows looked flat as pancakes.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The front desk staff was not friendly, and the ice machine was broken. The room had bugs, but was otherwise
- Ivan Gabriel (6/5): - The manager
- chris (2/5): Do NOT stay here - NEVER AGAIN!
YUK!
