• Chelsea (4/5): Stay elsewhere - The location was convenient and there weren't any bugs The lobby was cluttered with baby items and boxes. Then when we finally found our room, the front desk woman didn't know where our room was and guessed wrong on what side we were on, the room was gross. It smelled of cigarette smoke HEAVILY. It was hot where they had turned off the unit. The door was filthy, the floors were in terrible disrepair, literally coming apart, the sheets had cigarette burn holes in them. There was a dirty washrag hanging in the shower. The towels were dingy and dirty looking. We only stayed because we were exhausted and there weren't any bugs (I checked thoroughly). Then around 5am it started.... Doors slamming, horns honking, babies crying, people talking loudly. I've stayed in plenty of hotels to know that mornings are busy but it was like the walls were made of cardboard. Finally around 9am it got quiet enough for us to catch a quick nap before we headed out. Then as we were getting dressed the house keeping tried to come in. We deserve a refund, honestly. The bed was also very old and uncomfortable. Worst night of "sleep" we've had in a Long time. We aren't picky people....this was truly BAD.

• Kayla (10/5): - This was our second time staying with Motor Inns. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming. Very clean and comfortable. My husband and I have many more trips planned in the area and will be staying with them again.

• Paul (4/5): - Look, for the price it was fine and it was generally clean but the stains on the top sheet and the sofa give off a dirty vibe. The area and the clientele felt safe but it was a little bit of a rowdy crowd. The night I stayed people were friendly and shut things down at a reasonable hour. The staff - felt like it may have been the owners - were nice, greeted me by name and made appropriate small talk. I must have been the only remaining reservation that evening as I did roll in later in the evening. I did not have any issues with bed bugs and the floors and corners were clean. Outside was clutterd but I attribute that to the guests leaving stuff around not staff neglect since it was minimal. I would stay again if I was traveling alone and just getting a nights sleep but maybe not if I wanted a guaranteed night sleep for kids. Realize this is close to the Cherohala Skyway and attracts all spectrums of the car and motorcycle culture. You are rolling the dice on nice evening with a Corvette club there or dealing with the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger crowd.

• Lee (3/5): If you need a room in Madisonville… - I needed a hotel in Madisonville. Motor Inns of America is the only one. Nothing much to like here. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. The bed was worn out and the furnishings well past their prime.

Sink was cracked and leaked all over the floor, bedding was full of burn holes and moldy in shower. If it wasn't for being in a desperate situation we would have never even considered it. The pricing was ridiculous for the accommodations.

• gold-vintner (2/5): Sorry to say that this is a dump!!! - Hot water was good and bed was ok considering wine influenced sleep. Room had a smell....musty ???? Toilet seat was so loose that we were afraid that we might "roll" off. Needed a paint job. Stains on the couch. Shower plumbing was something that I have never seen. No chair or desk or coffee pot. Hair on bathroom floor. Kleenex dispenser was empty. Room was quite "rough". Basically a dump that was not near worth the rate that they charged....$65.00 plus taxes. We stayed here because we had no other choice......the hotel that we thought we had booked was not in Tennessee, thanks to Trip Advisor.

• Susan (6/5): I was looking for clean, cheap and location, which I got, but a coffee maker would have been nice. - The location was good for our purposes and the room, though lacking in amenities, was clean, which is a top priority when staying at hotels. The refrigerator was adequate, as was maid service. The proprietors were responsive and friendly. The room needed a coffee maker, a hook on the bathroom door to hang stuff, and hangers in the closet. The window HVAC smelled musty on fan or cooling and burning dust on heat, but it did the job.

Food left behind from previous occupants, floor was dirty, tub was dirty, fitted sheet was dirty. Housekeeping came in 1st day and took dirty towels but never left any clean ones.
