Guest Reviews
- Steven (9/5): A lot for your money. - A very no frills motel. Be advised there is no coffee on premises. I knew this, so I brought my own little coffee pot.
I've stayed before. The only problem this time was the soap dispenser in the shower was out of soap. And there is no bar soap.
Otherwise, it's a lot for your money. Yes, the property is outdated. But I don't care. I'd rather stay in a slightly outdated accommodation than drive 10-12 miles to Belle Plains or St. Peter to pay $50-$100 more. See above, regarding soap in shower.
- Ronald (3/5): - No breakfast or coffee offered Needs updates or a remodel, stained carpet, enamel on tube wore off made me feel dirty after taking a shower
- Walter I (10/5): -
- Sandy (8/5): Very comfortable room. Bonus was a refrig & microwave. -
- jose a (8/5): Bien la estancia - En este sitio no hay desayuno A mi opinion que la habitacion este calientita en temporada de frio
- Rodriguez (10/5): -
- Rodriguez (10/5): - Spacious a d really good water pressure in shower! Nothing to complain about.
- Miller (8/5): -
- Patrick (4/5): - Not a great hotel. Terrible beds, pillows, and sheets. Spotty towels in the bathroom. Bathroom floor was not clean. Dingy, heavily worn carpet throughout. TV worked but had only the most basic channels. Good wifi connection, though, so I could watch TV on my iPad. Next time I'm in the area I'll spend a little more money and stay in St. Peter instead.
- Steven (10/5): - It got the job done. Quick stay, bed, A/C and noise level off
- Terry (10/5): - Great experience. Nothing fancy but extremely clean. It looks like it may have been recently remodeled, and they did a great job. Very reasonably priced.
- Mike (8/5): -
- Carla (8/5): - The property is old, but well kept up and clean. Very convenient location. Office is not open 24/7, but they do have a night call system available, if needed. Wish that they had coffee makers in the room, or at least offered in the office. You have to go next door to the gas station to get a cup of coffee.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): - It was a pleasant stay.
- Muhammad (6/5): - Good hotel, if you are looking for a cheap one.
- Andrew (8/5): - Nice quiet motel. Everything was clean
- Valdez (7/5): -
- Charles E. (2/5): Not for a good night's sleep - This was an ancient bed that suffered from previous years of large/hefty sized sleepers using either side of the bed. One couldn't help but tip towards the middle which was severely caved in. Having had back problems, I had the worst night of sleep not helped by the rock hard bed pillows that I was attempting to use for anchorage with the sagging mattress
- Tyler (10/5): Perfect no frills budget friendly place - We just needed a room for the night and we got a great deal here. You never know what to expect from little motels but we were pleasantly surprised.
The staff were very quick and efficient. The room had everything we needed including a TV, nice bed, and a refrigerator. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable.
This is a no frills place. No coffee, no breakfast, just a simple place to rest. It's right next to a gas station, a couple restaurants, and a block or two from downtown Le Sueur which was beautiful. It's a small town so anything else is within a few minutes drive.
The only thing I was bummed about was the ice machine wasn't running but overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
The best part was the air conditioner in the room. It was almost 100°F the day we arrived and our AC was already on when we checked into our room. It was a welcomed respite from the heat for sure.
Overall, if you need a place for the night and don't need anything fancy this is a great deal. We will stay here again if we are ever back in the area.
- yle (5/5): -
- Susan (8/5): - Would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room. But the room was clean and comfortable, and you can’t beat the price!
- Donald (10/5): - Good stay will stop again when in the area
- Ola (5/5): Simple but budget friendly - Simple but budget friendly. It's located on the main road, but surrounded by a number of industrial complexes.
- cecelia (8/5): - Older, clean basic motel. No fancy anything, but clean and comfortable beds. Just right for the price. Would probably stay again if in the area.
- Ann (9/5): Superb -
- Bill (2/5): GOD AWFUL - The room was dirty, there were dead bugs all over, the bed was like sleeping on concrete, the TV was defective, oh and trains go by like 50 feet away at any time of the night and scare the crap out of you. I was also violently sick for 3 days after staying here, I strongly believe their ice machine is what got me sick, put some ice on a few beers in a small cooler and thankfully didn't drink any until the next day when I got home, the crappy bacteria filled water contaminated the cans, even though I wiped them off I was almost immediately and violently sick from both ends. Sleep in your car if you have to. Will never stay at another cheap hotel again especially a VALU STAY - had to call in sick 2 days now. Thanks so much!
- Sharon (10/5): - It was clean and towels smelled decent
- Kelsey (6/5): - The pros:
* Great price
* The refrigerator was actually a pretty good size and worked well! It was a step above a mini fridge and had quite a lot of storage space, so that was nice.
* The AC / Heating worked really well and we had no issues with it throughout our stay.
The cons:
* The hallways REEK of cigarette smoke, despite there being signs on every surface of the hotel hallways and rooms saying "No Smoking". Not sure where the smell comes from. The rooms themselves smell a bit better, but we had to air our room out by opening the window the first night because we got headaches within just a few minutes of being in there.
* The shower / tub looked pretty beaten up, and we weren't brave enough to try using it. No shampoo / conditioner / soap in the dispensers anyway.
* Right next to the railroad tracks, so expect to hear the train rolling by a few times a night. Luckily they never honked their horns, but it definitely woke me up every time they passed with the vibration / clattering.
Overall, not too bad. The mattress was fine, pillows were a little flat, but it was a nice space and was a good place to stay while we were in town. I just wish they could get rid of the cigarette smell!
- Chase (5/5): The place is clean and convenient. - It was convenient. Only hotel in town. Old, limited parking, needs updating New mattresses needed
- Tonya (10/5): - It was a nice, clean efficient room and the woman who checked us in was friendly and efficient. We just needed a place to sleep and over all would do it again. Close to food and gas which was also nice.
- Jason (10/5): - I enjoy staying here! The staff is friendly, rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable!
- Patrick (4/5): - TV didn’t work none of the amenities in the bathroom were usable only toilet paper room very cold had to have set on 85 until 4 o’clock in the morning before it finally warmed up in there and the floor was still cold bathtub very slippery
- Steven (5/5): Passable -
- Robert (7/5): Great - Price good
- Crystal (4/5): - No coffee in the room or lobby! Very thin pillows and no extras. No soap in dispenser. It’s a clean place to sleep with absolutely nothing else to offer other than that.
- Holly (10/5): - Very clean and great wifi
- Kent (8/5): Value Stay Inn - This is a motel/inn. We chose it for cost.
We were there for an overnight on business, so our needs were minimal—plenty of hot water in the shower, a clean and tidy bathroom, and comfortable beds. It met all of those very well.
We didn't mind that it was older or did not provide extra amenities, as we were not looking for those.
All in all, it was 4 out of 5 stars. Most importantly, I would stay there again.
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (4/5): Disappointing -
- Holly (10/5): - Its a nice place if you need to get away
- Jodi (10/5): - The property was reasonably priced for a weekend stay to attend a wedding.
- Patricia (8/5): - The hotel is a bit older but very clean. Our room was great except for a very strong urine (?) smell. As soon as you walked in, it hit you. Other than that, we had no complaints!
- Jeff (8/5): - Very basic, not even coffee in the morning (such costs almost nothing). But it was relatively inexpensive, clean, quiet and easy ro access. The staff was also very pleasant.
- Pamela (8/5): - It was ok they need a lil breakfast area other then then that it was nice
- Jason (10/5): - Bed was comfortable
- Martial (6/5): Ok - Ok.
Bed was comfortable.
Linen was clean.
- Todd (4/5): - Ac consistency was bad. Wouldnt stay a decent temp.
- Lisa (4/5): - It wasnt a bad stay per say. Just when the people next door to our room turned on their tv and ac amd etc. It made our tv pop and turn off and wouldnt come back on til morning.
- Michael (8/5): - Cheap and clean
- Randy (10/5): - Older facility, but clean and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff .
- Dana (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (8/5): - Clean and quiet. The place is a little dated but everything seemed clean and service was good.
- Sheri (6/5): Pleasant - The price point, the location was good. Quiet There was a smell in the room and building.
- Ortiz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cody (6/5): - Hardly any toilet paper on the roll and not a fresh roll for back up other than that all good
- Charlene (8/5): - Rooms are nice
- Charlene (8/5): - The room was nice had all I needed
- Charlene (8/5): - Was real nice
- John (6/5): - Only place to stay in town price was ok but no coffe had to go next door to gas station for food.
- Robert (8/5): Appreciation for early check in - I was given an early check in and very much appreciated it. Old school motel where you fill out your vehicle information.
- Peter (6/5): Its a place to stay - Dirty, cheap, low low budget place. Dont offer any breakfast or anything. Its a place to sleep thats about it. I I didn't see any bugs thats a good thing
- Victoria (2/5): Attempted to deny Sevice Dog - Attendant tried to deny Service Dog, stating that it had to had a 'certificate' proving it was a Service Dog. This is illegal per ADA. Attendant only gave in when I informed her that I would be contacting DOJ first thing Tuesday morning to file a complaint, stating that I didnt have to be so hostile.
- Scott (8/5): - Okay place to stay for price.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gilbert B (8/5): - Train noise middle of night, track 25 feet outside motel. Street noise not a problem.
- J (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancy (8/5): - Good price for a place to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable, clean, met our need for hotel in area. - 2 night stay, only hotel in town. Reasonably priced and it is what it is meant to be, very basic and not the Ritz. Could use a little lighter color scheme throughout but just an observation. Room was clean, bathroom looked to be remodeled. Tub was slippery even with nonslip tape but the shower pressure was good. Hard water. Bring your toiletries, they have them but they do not dispense very well. Bed was comfortable enough. Appears that you can not control the AC but we did not need it. TV worked fine. Fridge & microwave a plus. No coffee/food offered/available that we found, (again budget friendly). It is on a main strip so you do hear some noise but not too bad when we were there. Could not open curtain so was darker in the room, no natural light. Front desk person was helpful and pleasant enough. The Mexican restaurant a few doors down is awesome. Conveniently located near convenience store/gas and a few blocks to the grocery store. We would stay again.
- Sandra (5/5): It is a sad little place. - There was no breakfast. This is a pretty sad, dark and dingy place. We only stayed here cause it was close to a wedding we were attending. Almost everything
- Lori (4/5): - The place was surface clean, until you started looking at the mattresses, the bed frames, the corners in the bathroom floor. Very dirty and had not been cleaned for what looked like years. They only provide you with 1 towel each to use for your entire stay, and they were not what I would call white. They were very dingy and gray looking. I would not recommend this place at all. The ice machine had not been cleaned in what looked like years. Very moldy and dirty ice.
- Ora (8/5): Very good - Very quiet and clean. I was pleasantly surprised with location and comfort of the room. Updated and accessible. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers were chincy and took a lot of effort to get anything out of them.
- Patricia (4/5): - Room was clean, however the room smelled like old nicotine. For a hotel that was supposed to be smoke free, it sure didn't smell like it.
- Diego (6/5): Oddors - We all know this is a cheap option. But must control oddors there. Smells like a big kitchen were pretty close to the rooms. Other than that sufficient option
to pass by and rest for the continuing of the trip.
- Lena (6/5): Our stay - It was an ok stay, the room was clean but the bathroom had soap dispensers on the wall that were either empty or did not dispense any soap. It was not fancy but that was ok since we had other things to do and only needed a place to stay.
- Jane (4/5): - The woman at the front desk was rude to my husband over the price we found on line, then she took my phone from him and Signed into my phone with her own internet and password. The internet was non existent. There was bugs crawling across the floor in the lobby. The first floor rug was so filthy it was just gross. No elevator. The lock on the back door was broken so it was unlocked all night.
- Thomas (10/5): Quiet Night - We stayed overnight here before going to Valleyfair; it was much more affordable than staying someplace closer. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Having a microwave and refrigerator were greatly appreciated; a Holiday station and Subway are nearby. We enjoyed a quiet evening. Only downside is we couldn't find any movie channels; everything you watched had commercials. DirectTV's music channels were not available for customers to enjoy. Overall, though, a great place to spend a September evening.
- Bentura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judy (8/5): - Smelly!
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Xiong (10/5): great - It was quiet and easygoing the fact that care park outside the window
- phillip (6/5): unhappy - the carpet needs a good cleaning, no coffee in the room the mattress was way to soft the air conditoner wasvery noisey
