Deb (10/5): A lovely hotel in a very cute waterfront town and close to the Tulip Festival. - This is a great restored historic hotel in the lovely little waterfront town of La Connor. It’s on the main shopping district which has great restaurants and unique galleries and shops. The hotel is comfortable and the staff very accommodating. It’s just a few miles from the tulip fields and a fun place to stay.

The antique furniture, fixtures and wallpaper make it feel like you've stepped back in time. The vibe was very quiet and calming. The bed was a bit softer than I like.

Annette (6/5): Hotel Plantar is a charming hotel that we enjoyed for one night. - I really liked the ambiance of the hotel and room. The staff was exceptional at check in and check out. I appreciated the ability to request drinking water and having a refrigerator in the room for our leftovers, drinks, and snacks. The rooms were quaint and quiet. The carved wood bed frame was very unique and interesting. The location had great access to the town on main street and parking was nearby and free. I did know that there was not AC and appreciated the small fan. For individuals that appreciate an extremely soft bed without support, they will be sure to like the mattress. I would suggest an extention cord, so we could charge our phones, and other devices. The mattress was way too soft and it was uncomfortable to sleep on.
Elizabeth (10/5): Boutique experience - Hotel Planter is a historic hotel located right on the town’s Main Street, within walking distance of shopping, dining, and museums. With only twelve rooms, it is a quiet retreat. My room was spotless, as was the lobby area, where they also offer coffee, tea, and an assortment of board games to borrow. I have stayed here numerous times, because the convenience, quiet, and friendly staff.

Andrea (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - The room was super clean and very charming, as was the whole hotel. I would definitely stay at Hotel Planter again. It is right in La Conner, but very quiet and we enjoyed the courtyard view with the big tree out the window. They are pet friendly which is so wonderful for those of us who just can't be without our dogs. I appreciated the nice complimentary hot beverages and bottles of water. Not having an elevator could make things difficult for some older people or older dogs or anyone with mobility challenges. At 65 I schlepped my bag up and maybe some help with that would have been nice. If I come back in 10 years, the stairs may be daunting.

Elizabeth (10/5): - I loved this place. In a building from 1907, the rooms are furnished with period pieces while still having modern amenities. There is not a lot of moving around space in the bedroom but the overall space is well planned especially the bathroom. The coffee/tea area in the lobby has a Keurig and microwave along with Biscoff cookies to go with your morning brew. There is a private, fairly shaded courtyard to relax in when it's not raining. Granted, you need to be able to climb a flight of stairs for the hotel and the courtyard (period, remember). But it's right downtown and for a very reasonable price. The final word is: Charming!!!

Andrea (8/5): - This was an unexpected find. We were in town for the Skagit River Poetry Festival and were just trying to find somewhere close to the venues. We didn't expect such a cute, old-timey place. If someone is looking for a sleek, shiny, modern hotel, this isn't it. But we loved the high ceilings and older decor. It was very clean and neat. The staff were friendly and helpful. If we return to La Conner, we'll definitely stay there again.

Like the small number of rooms. Parking is awkward as you have to find parking on the street, or municipal parking a few blocks away.

Nadia (10/5): Old-fashioned lovely hotel at the heart of La Conner - It's a great hotel just at the beginning of the main street in La Conner. Good location to see this nice town. The building itself has this vibe of nice old-fashioned hotels from England or New England in the USA. Very friendly staff. The hotel doesn't have parking and it was a bit challenging to park outside on the street. We parked on a public parking nearby (but doesn't work for overnight parking) and had to re-park later.
Summer (6/5): - This hotel is located in a cool historic building in downtown. Easy access to shopping and dining. A couple of things to be aware of before booking: It states free parking. The free parking lot is a couple of blocks away, in a public lot which isn’t clear until you check in ask about it. There is a small unloading area right next to the hotel, which is helpful. One of the two spots appeared to be occupied by an employee’s car. We chose to park on the street a couple of blocks away, check in, and go to dinner. When we returned from dinner and the street in front of the hotel was open, we moved our car and unloaded our things. I don’t believe the hotel mentions all rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator. We managed with our things, but I could see how this might be an issue for older people/disabled. The room was clean, especially the bathroom. The mattress and bedding were rough. The mattress had a memory foam topper which we personally found to be uncomfortable/not supportive. Two low quality pillows for two people. It was a 78 degree day, the night stayed. Our room (I’m guessing) stayed 75-80 degrees all night as there is no AC (old building, makes sense in retrospect). There was a ceiling fan that took the edge off, but I did not sleep well. The window did open, but there was no screen so we kept it shut to avoid bugs. At a peak summer price of ~$250, I wish we had done more research on the local hotel options.
Rene (10/5): Nice place at a charming town - We stayed July, 2024 just as a heat wave was starting to develop. Nice place to stay at downtown La Conner. Looks like an old historic building that has been renovated. No AC, just ceiling fan. We were fine with that. We got a room facing the courtyard which was probably why the room wasn’t that hot. Street facing rooms look liked they would be really hot. There is heat for cold weather stays. The free parking is whatever spot you can find around the city. During busy times Hotel Planter will provide a pass to park at a paid lot nearby.

Shirley (9/5): Would stay there again. - The decor and cleanliness of the room. The location. The coffee maker and microwave not in each room.
Lori (7/5): I had a nice overnight stay and will book at the Planter again. - The location on the Main Street is very convenient to shopping and dining. The complimentary coffee and tea station is stocked with a decent selection of actually drinkable items. That’s a nice touch! The bed was comfortable and everything in the bathroom worked well and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. Though the intent of the decor is supposed to be historically quaint and charming, which mostly works for the public areas, the rooms desperately need updating: some of the window treatments, furniture and decorative pieces are really old, faded and dusty. If you have any mobility issues be aware that there is a substantial flight of stairs up to the check in area and no elevator.
Rob (10/5): - Just love staying in the hotel. Always feel welcome and think the people are outstanding. La Conner is a hidden gem and the hotel make the stay perfect.
Christina (10/5): - my staff was amazing what a wonderful location. Loved learning the history of the building. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bed was so cozy The guest were quiet there was a beautiful courtyard did not hear outside noise. I will be back!
