- Josue (10/5): - This is a good hotel to stay. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Zicatela beach was only across the street. Good restaurants only a few steps away. Quiet and very safe place. If you use the swimming pool or go to the beach they lend you towels. Highly recommended.

- Dominique (10/5): Resort style stay in Zicatela - I booked this hotel for one night to experience the Zicatela area of town, while I normally stayed in centro. The rooms have fridges but no coffee makers, which is odd at this price range. But the very good complimentary breakfast in the morning makes up for it.

- Thomas (2/5): - We left after a few nights. The cartel owned bar across the street runs the town and blasts the loudest death “ music” until 5:20 am. The government apparently has no control over this. It shakes the building with alternating vibrations every ten seconds. Pure hell. I feel for the people of the town. The government should be ashamed.

I had a basic room which was roomy enough, comfortable bed, good shower, AC, etc. Pool on location was small but nice; staff very friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was good. The location is excellent, close to many dining and shopping options and the beach is great.

Kinda run down and the refrigerator we used as a table becaise the table was only 24" square. Bathroom was clean but had a had a wierd smell near the toilet. The shower had no pressure and was tough to rinse off. Bed was firm and comfortable. We had a rooster go off every half hour during the day and was responsible for not letting me sleep in, waking me up at 7:15am ever morning to start the day. I finally found where the guy resides and if I was brave enough it would have been a brawl like a Peter Griffin/Ernie the Chicken fight.

Thursday night the noise from across the street kept us awake until 4:30 am, even though our room was at the back of the hotel. Can't recommend a weekend stay.

Very clean, comfortable beds, great air conditioning, delicious breakfast with lots of options, two pools, right on the beach, and all for a very affordable price! We happened to be in town during the Zicatela Surf Competition and it was happening directly in front of the hotel. We would definitely come back!

Area is loud due to clubs across the street literally non stop till 5:00 a.m. Windows have very little privacy. The way it is advertised does not represent the poor reality of this hotel. Just BAD!

- Tiffiny (8/5): - We got in earlier than check in time and staff was friendly and let us store our luggage in the office. They gave us towels to take to either beach or pool. We opted to go to the beach. When we returned to check in around 8pm, and get our room it was a quick process. Upon entering our room there was water on the floor. My guess is maybe from the mop. Things seemed clean but the room just felt kind of dingy. The walls and curtains had stains/marks on them. Our bathroom light was out and our tv wasn’t working properly. The staff was very quick and friendly to fix the issues. The pools were nice and inviting. Great temperature. We didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast because we left very early but I saw them setting up for it and it looked nice. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet.

- Jenny (10/5): Lovely stay at Rockaway - Helpful staff, nice breakfast, clean rooms, goid aircon, quiet even though close to thw busy strret at night, lovely pool area and bar / restaurant. Only real negative was that the wifi was patchy in the bedroom, but worked ok at the pool area.
- Jill (10/5): - I stayed here on two occasions during my time in PE. The staff were lovely and accommodating. As a female traveling solo, I felt very comfortable and safe staying here. The rooms were clean and well air conditioned. The hotel is well positioned in Zicatela, right across from the beach. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. There is a small store convenience store within the hotel where you can buy sunscreen, water, snacks etc. There is a coffee shop next door that opens at 6am if you need to grab a snack before an early flight. The only thing to make note of is that there is a beach club across the street, and the DJ plays until the morning. I requested a “quiet” room, but as a light sleeper I still slept with earplugs. Other than that it was a very comfortable stay!

- Hien (8/5): - Overall I liked the Hotel Rockaway. This is literally across the street from Zicatela Beach with plenty of convenience stores and restaurants around the hotel. Most of the staff were super nice (you might run into a grumpy one) but the majority of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The only thing that I thought could be improved was the Wi-Fi. I was there after a work meeting and still had work and I could not complete it with the Wi-Fi speeds in my room. I was told that the restaurant had stronger internet but there were no electrical outlets so - I was stuck.

- Erica (6/5): We made the best of our stay, but wouldn’t return - It is rare we leave lukewarm reviews, but in this case you pay for what you get. Pros: Economical stay with a spacious room, excellent breakfast (very tasty, large portions and great variety) and wonderful, friendly service. They replied to every WhatsApp we sent and aimed to resolve our issues quickly. The location is very central on Zicatela and surrounded by lots of great restaurants. Housekeeping was great everyday. Cons: Very loud. Everything was so loud. The pool, the AC unit. We met people by the pool and everyone talked about how loud it was and what little sleep they got. Wifi is garbage. Spotty at best. Our room had a very stale smell that was so strong we had to leave every window and door open to alleviate when we were in the room.
