• Dr. Hans-Eckhard Sommer (9/5): Unbedingt empfehlenswertes, komfortables Altstadthotel mit historischem Charme - Das Hotel Marktgasse befindet sich in einem historischen Gebäude aus dem 15. Jahrhundert mit wechselvoller Geschichte. Es liegt mitten in der Züricher Altstadt in einer Fußgängerzone, und zwar im lebendigsten Viertel Zürichs, dem "Niederdorf" am linken Limmat-Ufer. Wer Zürich ausführlich erkunden will, ist hier genau richtig. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar, auch die Ablegestelle der Ausflugsschiffe am Zürichsee. Wer weniger zu Fuß gehen will, findet ganz in der Nähe eine Haltestelle der Trambahn, an der mehrere zentrale Linien verkehren. Die Zimmer sind der Kategorie entsprechend tadellos mit historischem Charme. Das Frühstück gibt es in einer auch von außen zugänglichen Bar und unterscheidet sich erfreulich vom üblichen Hotelfrühstück; köstlich die Züricher Gipfeli. Obwohl wir ein großes Zimmer mit zwei Bädern hatten, war die Schrankfläche für einen mehrtätigen Aufenthalt zu klein. Sonst fällt mir nichts ein.
• Carlton (8/5): Very nice staff, older building full of charm, very comfortable. - The staff was very communicative, very service-oriented, the location was good considering you have to walk to the hotel and there's no way to be driven there, and that was fine. The hotel was lovely, it was definitely an older building which has its own charm. There was nothing about the older building that was off-putting and the staff was overall wonderful. They offered laundry service however when I brought my laundry down in the only bag I had they told me that I was bringing it to them in an incorrect manner, that there was a bag in the room, and I had specifically looked for that bag when I was there assuming there was something like that and didn't find anything. I was very embarrassed to be told that I had done something incorrectly, and I had to go back to my room and look for the bag which absolutely was not where they told me it was. There was no laundry bag in my room, and I did not get laundry service done while I was there, quite disappointingly. I was too embarrassed to pursue the matter further, as I had been made to feel foolish for bringing my laundry in my own bag. I know that this was likely an oversight on their part, not putting the bag where it was supposed to be, but having brought the laundry down, I don't think I should have been made to carry it back to my room and look for a special bag. They should have had something at the desk to accommodate me since that's where the laundry was supposed to be brought to. They have to expect that people are not always going to find the special bag. In my case, especially given that it was not in the room.
• Maria Blennlid (8/5): Bra hotell med trevlig personal - Mycket bra att det fans en liten flaska balsam till håret! Det finns sällan på hotell numera och jag har långt hår. Mycket trevlig personal. Goda teer som man hämtade i receptionen. Bra med öppen reception dygnet runt. Jag beställde ett litet rum och var medveten om det. men tyckte att sängen var lite väl smal. För en fullvuxen man är den nog för liten. Tyckte fläkten var jobbig men den gick att stänga av.

Fui atendido em português pela Paula na recepção, que foi muito amável e me explicou tudo o que eu precisava saber. A temperatura da água do chuveiro oscilava muito, de morno para muito quente, causando sustos durante o banho.

The fabulous coffee available 24/7 was wonderful for an overseas traveler. The quiet street was great. Maybe a better breakfast, but it was definitely adequate

Poor Selection options were really evident when we had to go to another hotel the morning of the marathon to have breakfast and while very grateful they accommodated us going to the other hotel the options in other hotel were far superior.

Spotless. nice coffee and little candy bar at reception. nice little italian cafe downstairs for light lunch. perfect Old Town location - walkable to everything. • Jean-marie (5/5): Belle situation, personnel aimable, chambre misérable, prix élevé. - Bonne situation de l'hôtel Pour 300 fr. par nuit, on pourrait imaginer que la chambre soit munie des quelques gadgets habituels à des hôtels prétendant à un certain standing. Or, ce n'était pas le cas. Pour boire un café, il fallait aller en face de la réception le tirer à une machine. A part sa dimension respectable, la chambre était digne d'un hôtel "1 étoile".

• Valérie (7/5): - Emplacement vraiment pratique car au centre-ville. Peu de bruits extérieurs et bonne insonorisation. Le staff est très agréable et accueillant. Petit déjeuner varié et excellent café, bravo. La chambre était très très petite et le prix n’est pas raisonnable au vu de sa taille (on ne peut circuler dans la chambre qu’en se glissant sur les deux côtés du lit), avec le lit au centre qui bloque tout. Une seule petite fenêtre peut s’ouvrir en imposte, la grande fenêtre est complètement bloquée. Les linges sont très rêches et un peu « cheap » pour un 4 étoiles, pas de peignoir en vue.

• V (8/5): Smart hotel in good location - A lovely modern hotel in a heritage building. The room was large and comfortable, and we could easily walk around the city and reach attractions by foot. Breakfast in the attached cafe was welcome each day and had a good selection. Not the fault of the hotel but the room upstairs from us was very nosy (heavy stomping around most times of the day).

• Trevor (8/5): Stylish, quality furnishings. Lovely location. - High quality hotel, with a Michelin-starred restaurant attached. Great location on a pedestrian street in the old town. Generally very friendly staff. I booked a single room and got a lovely big room and a double bed. The check-in person was unfriendly and described our rooms as 'tiny', which they weren't. Possibly a translation issue. A significant slope to the bathroom floor. Low ceiling in the bathroom and shower. Breakfast was rather expensive and in a separate cafe area.

• sherman (10/5): Will be back. Was such a fun place. - Every room in the hotel, I am told , is different. My room had a slight slope. I loved it! The hotel is a beautiful buiilding located in the old part of town. Wonderful. I thought the staff were supernice and helpful. Also there is a water fountain and drinking glasses on each floor. The bed in this room was situated in the middle, leaving a small channel of space around it. I wished it could have been on the side, leaving more room. I was told that each room is unique in its arrangement.
