• jacques (9/5): - Big and comfortable. Great balcony and roof terrace overlooking the sea . Traditional design with all modern facilities. While located first line to the sea there was quite a lot of noisy naval traffic and there was motorized road work right next to the house.

Der var både terrasse lige uden for stuen og tagterrasse, og begge havde den mest fantastiske udsigt. Vi brugte det meste af tiden på tagterrassen, når vi ikke udforskede øen. Jeg har ingen anmærkninger på dette. Alt var helt magisk!

• K&H Alexander (10/5): Stunning location - The location of this apartment is superb. It is just a few minutes walk from the harbour front in town. And being tucked around the headland it is very quiet - only the sounds I'd passing boats to be heard. The rooftop terrace gave us splendid views of the sunsets. The apartment itself was very cosy and comfortable - the second 'bedroom' doubles up as the kitchen living room but it does have its own shower room. The other bedroom has an ensuite. Both shower rooms feature some of the underlying rock of the hill - very creative designs. The kitchen had all you'd need for basic meal provision, though we ate evening meals in town - some excellent restaurants! The host met us at the ferry landing and showed us to and around the apartment when we arrived. All in all, a fabulous from where to explore the delightful island of Hydra. Occasionally there was a stale smell from one of the shower drains, but these dispersed quickly once we opened some windows. And if course it was sad to leave at the end of our stay.

Nous sommes arrivés pendant la grève, il a pris le soin de nous contacter pour nous en informer et à organiser le transfert pour nous sans quoi nous aurions été bloqué à Athènes. La vue de l’appartement est magnifique! La localisation par rapport au port est parfaite!

• FIONA (9/5): Wonderfully comfortable and spacious flat, fabulously located at the edge of Hydra Port - Fabulous location with excellent views! Upper level wooden patio furniture was tired and chairs were broken (chair arms kept coming apart).

• Tamarra (10/5): Best location, best views, best patio with sunset views, best home in Hydra! - This is one of the best places to stay possible, even if it were triple the price. Make sure to book it if you’re going to Hydra. The sunsets are spectacular from the balconies and the 5 minute walk to town is easy. It’s quiet here and you can also walk by turning right to Mandraki Beach for a lovely day. Alexis was so nice and helpful before and during the trip. The “castle” is perfectly quiet, the air conditioning works great, and it’s fantastic to have air cons in the living room and the bedroom if you have guests sleeping in each. I can’t recommend this highly enough. We stayed a week and it wasn’t enough with so many beaches to go to. The first bakery you reach before town is the best - get the ham and cheese pastry if you get there before they sell out. Take the boat to Bisti beach if you have time and have a great trip to Hydra! Everything was amazing

Magical Hydra, close to the shops, yet quiet for the pure relaxation the sunrises and sunsets of the island bring. I loved the private terrace off the side of the bedroom, balcony, sweeping breezes and delightful decor. The well-equipped kitchen was perfect for organizing breakfasts, lunch and dinners. The ONLY thing is the shower head not being able to attach to be able to be upright. It was manageable without, though!

The terrace just outside was fabulous, as was the shared terrace up on the roof - couldn't be better and the hosts were lovely. The port is only a few minutes walk and close to the restaurants and swimming locations. We loved our stay here! Nothing!

• Moonstar (10/5): Beautiful Villa close to town full of restaurants, bakery, supermarkets and shops. The Villa is built into the cave and - This Villa was amazing. There is no need for the donkey to take your suitcase to this property. It’s nestled into the cave with fantastic views of the sea. You can spend the whole day watching the ferries come into the port! The rooftop was fantastic. Everything was in walking distance with a large choice of restaurants and shops. In the Villa Castello there is really only one large master bedroom with a small ensuite, the other bed is in the kitchen/living area of the villa. Not ideal for 2 couples but perfect for a family. We made it work though. The breeze from the sea was refreshing! We chose to swim of the rocks pass the marina, which was a short stroll! 2nd bedroom is in the living area. Not ideal for 2 couples.

• Julie (10/5): Just wonderful. - Very well equipped. Perfect location. Idyllic. View from kitchen window lovely. We watched the boats go by. From the rooftop terrace we enjoyed the sunsets in privacy. These memories will stay with us. Only small things... a shower curtain for main 'seated shower' would be good. A screen or curtain to separate the kitchen from the sleeping area would be nice. The lock on the terrace gate needs fixing. Just minor things really.

• Murray (8/5): Hydra is indeed a stunning island and we really enjoyed our time on the island . - The views and privacy of this upstairs apartment were stunningly beautiful and the private sunny balcony delightful . To watch the sunset everyday was pure bliss . Unfortunately as a couple over 65 the bed was uncomfortable and despite being extremely tired from 10 km walks each day we had trouble sleeping the four nights we were there . Younger people may not have these issues ! The kitchen is basic as is the bathroom but there was plenty of very hot water . We were without a plug for the sink which made it difficult to wash up . It’s a reasonable distance from the ferry with luggage up stairs to the front door so travel lightly and you will be fine . Lovely bakery / coffee shop not far away and amazing walks .

I was disappointed to see that the room we received was below the balcony but it worked out alright. Fewer steps! But both rooms accessed the rooftop balcony which was lovely.
• Aleksandra (10/5): Beautiful villa with sea view. - The house is a 5-minute walk from the port. This is very comfortable if you come to the island with a suitcase. The villa is not very large, but it has a beautiful roof where you can have dinner at sunset.

• Lesley (10/5): Gorgeous views from generous outdoor spaces. - This accommodation is an extraordinary find. The apartment was large with exceptional outdoor spaces. We really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the ocean while reading our books and sipping on some wine. There was lots of room indoors as well. The kitchen is extremely well appointed. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. It was a wonderful location for sitting out and watching the sunset. Very close to walk into town to grab a meal or an ice cream. It was also a wonderful walk in the other direction. It was very quiet most nights and we slept very well. The only time we ever saw the host was when we were greeted at the ferry and walked to the door. I'm sure we could've reached them if we needed anything. The water was scalding hot from the hot water tank. I think small children staying there could run the risk of burning her hands. I burnt my hand on the faucet in the shower, trying to put the shower handle back. It is only a hand held shower. There is a public area just below the apartment where sometimes people like to hang out in the evenings to watch the sunset and drink. A couple of times they became quite noisy, but they never stayed for very long.

The villa is beautiful and quite large. There are verandahs and a viewing deck on the top floor directly over the ocean. It is an easy walk to anywhere from the villa. The host Alexis was very kind and helpful.

• Dael (8/5): The location of this apartment (one floor in the “villa”) is great and made for an enjoyable stay but not the best value - great location. master bedroom very spacious and comfortable. great views. great a/c. No comfortable seating in living room - just beds and uncomfortable dining chairs. the patio shown in all the photos is not private and not part of this apartment - it is up two very steep flights of stairs and shared with the neighborhood. there is no balcony to this apartment nor any private outdoor space.

• Francien (5/5): Passable - Location was great Wifi should be available (for our work this was essential); and it wasn't there. After notifying, host gave us an explanation that wasn't correct/true. Fault of absence of internet was clearly in the house (while host said it was not on him but an error outside the house, due to the provider). We doubt whether they had internet subscription at all.
