• Sara Elise (9/5): Nice, calm affordable stay - Great, friendly staff. As a girl traveling alone for this trip I felt very safe staying here, it was calm and quiet. Good A/C and no moist air. There was a clean (although a bit rusty on the outside, but the city is in a rainforest...) fridge that worked good. There were no safetybox on the room but I feelt safe enough to leave money in the room anyways, the room was looked by one key that you had to leave in the reception qhen going ou.

• Miro (1/5): Avoid this hotel - Nowt ( The rooms have a strange smell and no windows. The staff is unfriendly. I have been working in Peru for 8 years and have been living near Iquitos for 6 months, so I have a good comparison with other hotels. Additionally, the price on Booking was different — I ended up paying 19% more. When I asked why I had to pay so much extra, I was told, “because we have our own dollar exchange rate.” Avoid this hotel. Smelly rooms, no windows, TV colors not working properly, poor breakfast, and on top of that you pay 19% more than the booking price.

• Hone (6/5): Good value for money, good location, good breakfast. - The location is good, my room was fine, the staff helpful and friendly, the breakfast more than satisfactory. I was grateful for the ceiling fan that kept me cool in the very hot and humid climate. It's a pretty plain place but it was fine for my modest needs. If you're a smoker, there's no smoking area, you must go out onto the footpath, although that wasn't a big problem.

Это не проблема в данном регионе, тут жарко, но у меня ожоги от солнца и было не комфортно. А так супер. Нет окон на улицу, но мне это было не нужно, я приходила только спать.

• Henrik (9/5): Superb - Very nice room for little money. Big comfortable bed and a nice clean bathroom. It has everything you need. There was both a fan in the ceiling as well as AC. Didn't have time to stay for breakfast so I can't comment on that. Recommended!

• Sagan (4/5): Disappointing - I suppose it’s decent value for the low price? Location is decent. The rooms have no windows, are dark, smell strongly of cleaning chemicals, and are overall depressing. When I arrived and saw the rooms, I asked for a refund since I couldn’t bring myself to stay there, and the reception person kept giving reasons why a refund is not possible. So I just left and forfeit my 2 days I paid for. Also when I asked for tour information, rather than giving an unbiased recommendation, he just said he was going to call over his sales guy that he probably gets a kickback from. But again, the place I stayed in after was twice the price, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

• Thanas (7/5): Good for a short stay - The hotel was OK. The staff was helpful and could speak English. The beds were comfortable and there were no mosquitoes. The was a fan on the ceiling but was not needed (end of September) . Breakfast was standard with some bread and coffee The room could be a bit cleaner and the waste bin could have been emptied.
• Luis (9/5): Friendly Staff , Quiet Rooms, great value - Staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. From a tip of a vegan restaurant to finding a contact for a not so pricy jungle tour. During breakfast , we had no option to chose how we wanted our eggs. Serving was pretty straightforward. Still ok.
• Louise (8/5): Very pleasant and confortable - The breakfast at the Hostal is good. Scrambled egg with bread and jam. Also drinking yogurt. Choice of Tea or Coffee and some fruit. The Hostal has air conditioning and this makes it extra special when the weather is so hot and humid outside. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful. Nothing springs to mind.

• J (9/5): The usual very good facilities (plenty of hot water, good shower, efficient air -con, helpful staff) - I have put 'not applicable' for 'paid wifi' as the wifi is free (and very good) Breakfast is very acceptable, particularly as it is included in the, already very reasonable, price. Regrettably, airport transfer is no longer included but they did arrange for a taxi to meet me though, with hindsight, I should have just got a motor taxi at the airport for 25 soles instead of having the 40 soles taxi

Very clean property which is unusual for Iquitos, has ceiling fans as well as A/C, above average breakfast, wake up service, white towels. My booked room was taken when I arrived and I needed to accept a smaller sized room.
